Great, thoughtful, articulate post. Well said, and
are bashing and snidely judging new MTs at a company where there is no work. Its so sad to have no work, when you're only allowed to transcribe 5 jobs a day. Poster after poster of new hires, with not even 5 jobs a day. And, just like here, some nasty posters are blaming the new MTs - its their fault, some character flaw, they're lazy. Its heart breaking to read this stuff. We're all in the same industry, and not many of us who don't need the money and don't really want to work. Great attitude you have, and I'm sure you're a great MT. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Nice post, thank you and have a nice day. nm

I agree. If she can't even get the hours stated plainly in BOLD RED print 7:00 AM to 12:00 AM, she is not good enough to work at TT. Pitiful. Go away. People like you who constantly badmouth TT are not needed OR wanted. You need help.

This person who wrote this post about TT being low on work and the supervisors playing favorites is always on this board slamming TT. TT is a wonderful company and I have worked for them for almost 4 years. They never play favorites. The MTs get the work as it flows to them through the computerized system. NOBODY is ever given jobs they do not want to do. As a matter of fact they tend to go out of their way to provide the work types a person is the most comfortable with. This person's thoughts are absolutely ridiculous and obviously she is one of the ones who do not want to work when the work is very heavy, such as this past weekend when one of the accounts had very high numbers. They had sent an email out asking for additional help because nobody was working. People got on and got the work out and cleaned it out fairly quick and then I head people were complaining because the work was low. The work is there = the work needs to get out. Some people just can't grasp that. TT seems to take pride in NOT playing favorites. After all, they don't know us from Adam. All they know is if we are good, dependable and accurate workers/MTs. I would suggest keeping an open mind and reapplying if the occasion arises. I love working for TT and I think you would to if you are willing to work what you commit to. They don't hound you. They only want you to do what you told them you would.
What a nice post!
It sounds like you are making what you want and your platform is working really well.  Thank you for sharing a positive outlook on this company.  I found your post to be very well written.  Thank you.
Very nice post.

I also agree with going into MT for the right reasons.  This is the healthcare profession, not an assembly line.  These are live people behind these reports and living breathing physicians rely in our reporting skills to care for their patient.  I think somewhere along the line, this has gone by the wayside and all anyone seems to care about is cents per line and how many lines they can do in an hour.  Are you going to trip someone at the store so they'll go the doctor you transcribe for so you'll get your lines????????????  Geez Louise!!!!  There are going to be lulls.  If there are too many lulls, then one must find a way to supplement that.  Nothing is a given in this profession!

Nice post about the doc's needs
We forget that the docs also have worries about their homes and such from the hurricane and that they are not immune from the devastation from IKE.
Nice post
You seem like a caring and concerned employer. I wish you all the best in both of your businesses!
Very nice post...
I have not worked with you or really read the comments you are talking about.  Reading your post touched a nerve with me--I'm currently getting together info to start my own business.  I am often anxious for the reasons you have illustrated, so I appreciate the fact you have shared such a great explanation.
nice post
i totally agree except i dont know what TPTB means LOL im so behind on these abbreviations people use on here.

I know that the work I expect from myself was not measured by the women who took over my job, but the docs took the 2 cpl less to pay them for the worse work. Well, whatever i guess. am i supposed to produce lower quality work because im not getting paid enough? That isn't my style... it just sucks for those of us who really truly do care about our work and dont get what we deserve for it.
Nice post!!!

My, my. How thoughtful of them!

Have to post that I received a very nice holiday bonus from QT which

I agree also. Nice post. I'm so sick of asking one question
and getting a lot of really nice educated help and advice and then there are the negative mongers who go way off subject and ream you out for asking questions.  What is the deal anyway.  I've never seen so many negative people in one area or profession before.  Quite honestly, there are some days when I sit here bored out of my mind and then it starts wandering to everything else but work.  I find that I pick at stupid things and sometimes I feel like the social isolation is responsible and it starts making you fruity.  So, I will just assume when people are attacking others that this job is just getting to them in some way.  This is supposed to be a support group. I may not agree with everything I see but I am not going to rip someone apart. Let's stay support and objective.  Everyone has something to offer, let's just to it kindly and intelligently.

A thoughtful response
I AM the person who was told about the mistake that could kill a person.. and the error was a frickin coma. Did YOU read the report? It was NOT a patient care error that would have killed a patient. BE REAL. I suggest you get your facts straight before going off on a tangent. I also know that many doctors DO NOT read their reports and if someone is on the QA person, it is the hospital and not the doctor. Who the heck is whining? People on here are stating facts and that is what this board is for to help other MTs find the right match with a company for themselves. And another thing, for a company to put all the BLAME on the MT is ridiculous, physicians must be responsible for their reports before they are signed. After the report leaves the MT, it is the responsibility of the physician to read it before he signs it. I have never heard of any MT getting sued over an error in my 25 years of doing this. I wholeheartedly agree with every post about OSI. You Must be the butt-kisser incognito. Find out why a person gets an audit? EVERYONE gets an audit at OSi monthly. Tells how much you know. Go back to your corner and kiss butt.
a thoughtful response
I also agree the QA person does not know what in the world she is doing and I also believe it has cost OSi many good MTs leaving and QA people leaving. I do know that the QA person for the one that is there now, (SD) was a great QA Manager. She helped me in so many ways, I can't begin to tell you how great she was. When she left her QA position, I was sad to see her go. She was a good person, she listened to your concerns, and she was FAIR. And another thing, when I first started with OSI I was asked what I thought of the QA training, I said "15 minutes of gibberish" that taught me nothing. Most of the things people have posted are true, some are not. I find the QA manager at present to be rude and underserving of the position she is in
I got mine today. Very pretty and thoughtful.

the leave you alone.  I left because they do not budge from their pay which was kind of mediocre.  I would go back if I had to because they were extremely nice.

Peachy, your post is interesting, but my post now is irrelevent but
A few weeks ago I went to my clinic where they had recently implemented EHR or EMR, whichever you call it, and the doctor's back was to me the whole time he and I conversed because his nose was stuck in his laptop. To me, it felt a little more impersonal, but I understand he was doing what he had to do, but it seems like the bedside manner may go to the wayside if the doctors can't even look at you when they are asking you questions or you are speaking to him/her. I know this is relevant to your original post, but just an interesting fact that I had not anticipated. Anyone else experience this?
This is why I NEVER post my cpl. I'll post the range of
what the company pays, but NEVER what I make.  I know that I make more than probably 70% of the people there, because they know I produce a client ready report and that I can do anything they throw at me.   We don't have levels, but I guess if we did I'd be at the highest level.    Telling how much you make isn't so bad, but when people know what company you work for and then what you make that isn't a good combination.  The ONLY people I have ever discussed what I make with, are my husband and my MTSO owner.   Talking about your salary/pay is enough to get your fired in lots of companies.

One post was another "run" type of post and the
the recruiter. Once you are in with the company, the recruiter has nothing to do with you or your job. I want specifics about problems with THE JOB, not the recruiter.  Specifics such as no or late checks, line counts being messed up, no work, taking bennies away with no explanation. Things that matter, not the recruiter.

I suppose someone could twist the post I put on the company forum as tattling.  However, I dont see how.  My post simply asked what the posts on MT stars were about.  I really don't think I need to "alert" anyone to anything as millions of MTs come to this forum daily.  Also, as some disgruntled ex-Transcenders said, their words not mine, Larry scans these boards regularly himself.

Another thing, I at least tried to go to the source and find out some information about what the OP was saying about unfair treatment, unfair pay and such between newbies and long-termers at Transcend.  I wanted to know what the person was talking about since she wasnt going to explain herself.  At least, I took it where it belonged in the first place, the company.  Of course, there was never a reply as that person isn't able to post using her name.

Thank you for your post trying to divert the attention on to me instead of the issue at hand.  If  you are leaving or have left, why are still bothered by what I say?

My reply to your reply to my reply, lol
Michelle,

All I meant was that we could BOTH could be construed as troublemakers, depends on how you look at it.

You could also look at it that you were confronting people there at the company and trying to get them to talk about these things where you think it belongs.

There's a history, here, Michelle, that you're not aware of about why people won't talk about certain things on that forum, and you're not sure if they've already TRIED talking to management about it and got nowhere, you assume too much.

You're waltzing in here like you have controlling interest (hahaha, no pun intended) in Transcend and think you know how things should go, ignoring that there might be a history of why people are afraid to talk.

Really, though, it's not your job to try force people to answer any of your questions, here or anywhere else.

I applaud your courage to confront people about their claims, but learn when to leave it alone, that there may be a history that you weren't a part of, you weren't there yet, and people just want to commune to share experience and get a reality check.

And I'm sorry, I don't believe your only motivation was to get people talking about these issues where you think they belong.

There are some that have never even heard of this board and your post directed them here and stirred up a flurry of activity and I think you knew it would. So I hate to tell you this, but you've alerted several people to the complaints by bringing them here.

As IF it's any of your business, I have not finished my notice with them, Michelle, and was toiling whether I had done the right thing initially. I'm not about to leave anyone high-and-dry.

Let's see where you are in about three years, Michelle, you're going to be something else to deal with...Transcend better keep you on their good side.
Thanks for the reply (sm)

Do you currently work for them?  If so, could you please share a little bit of information about them?  Do you know what their line rate is?

Thanks for your help!
