sound like it from the comment about sitting at the computer waiting for work.

As a fomer 23 year MQr, first of all you need to get away from MQ! MQ is never going to go anywhere ever again! It use to be a great company but it will never be anymore. You need to get out before they go down totally and there is a mass exodus.

If you do not work for MQ, the same applies if you are sitting at a desk and staring at a computer where there is no work.

You will never make alot of money until you have been in this business for quite a few years. It is just a fact of the profession. The more you know the more you make. you cannot know it until you have been in it for a number of years.

The MTSOs that want you to be an IC and treat you like an employee.........forget em. Get away from them. There are MTSOs that don't do that. If you want to be an IC find a company that treats you like one and you can take your kids to the doctor, soccer games, etc. But if you are going to work like that, then you have to expect to work other hours to make up for it.

The low ones on the totem pole as you call yourself...that is the way it is. You have to work your way up and be in this for years and know your stuff to get ANY RESPECT. You cannot have it all at once it doesn't work that way.

You said you CHOSE this profession so you would not have to send your kids to daycare. BIG MISTAKE! This is one of the great lies that the MT schools have put out.......you can make a ton of money and stay home with your kids, etc. etc. Well you can EVENTUALLY but not at the beginning. It doesn not work that way. Sounds like you have the cart before the horse. You needed to work in a hospital for several years then go home to work and be with your kids. If you did it backwards that is your fault. Im sorry you don't want your kids in daycare and that is your choice. But you can't make the job to fit you. Make your appointments away from your working hours. you would have to do it that way if you were out working.

Geeze I feel like I am going round and round. Sounds like you want it all! Work whatever hours you want, expect the company to provide you with work when and if you can work etc. etc. The doctors and MTSOs can do these things because they have that privilege just by the fact they are their own bosses. We are not (to a certain extent) I think your expectations are a little high.
