nm
oops, long night should be BRAVO
and who am I to post when my fingers feel dyslexic by now :)
oops, meant 10+ years--it's been a long day!! nm
..
very discouraging
It's just so, so discouraging.  I am a really hard worker, and all I want is to do my job, get paid a fair amount, and have benefits that are affordable.  I don't understand why this is so difficult.  I never thought I would have such a hard time finding a decent job.
Is very discouraging indeed
I started out with a small company, that Edix bought, and then Edix turned into Spheris... each time there was a buy-out, went down hill...you could tell where the money was going, and sure was not to the MTs... after I noted a 30% decrease, and before it morphed into Spheris... I was out of there, and no regrets... I did find something better... but that just went to SR... so instead of improving and increasing... seems our pay is always decreasing... is very discouraging!   Perhaps a change of legislature would be a positive impact, at this point I don't see any other positives in this biz...
Been very slow here....discouraging.... nm

No problem :) No matter how long, it is too long for me - I am broke the day after payday. Kids wi
do that to you!

I know that they have worked very hard to make sure that checks are never late and I can say that in the past two years, I have had one problem (2 days late) and in the past 18 months, they have all been on payday and perfect.

I know that there are a lot of hard feelings in MT in general. I also know firsthand (and I am not mgmt) how hard KS has worked to get things going good.

I would not want to walk in an MTSO's shoes for any amount of money, but that's just me. I like to finish my work for the day, forget about work when not working and get paid on payday. I never want the other things that go with mgmt or owning a company of any kind :)
They definitely rip you off with your line count. Figured this out long ago and quit long ago

What really sucks is that I looked for a LONG, long time -sm
before joining DRC - wanted a highly reputable, not-too-big co. that was LOCAL, and that treated its MTs humanely. I'm very happy with DRC & had planned to stay with them permanently.
Long, long history of not paying...and
similar posts have been made here in the past few months. Everyone thinks they will be different, and then they end up coming back here to warn others that they don't pay.
but those were long, long lines for
most of the reports. You could make more with a 65-character line count.
oops

I meant Transcription Solutions

Have read archived posts about their software being not user friendly.  Is this still true?

Oops. SM
Out-sourcing comes up, not offshoring.  What does outsourcing mean?
oops! LOL
Let's start our own company!!! ... or maybe the OP will take pity on us heehee
oops
Guess I should also know how to SPELL hyphenated, huh?
OOPS! You did it!
The S should be capitalized and DAH isn't a word. Oh my!!
OOPS
OOPS...sorry...was in too big of a hurry. Guess that if people were perfect spellers...we wouldn't need spell check programs FOR THIS PROFESSION. DUH!!!
Oops!

Sorry! I didn't see further on down that moderator had said no posts on OSi for some reason. Guess I missed something that was deleted.

OOPS.
Meant 30% of a 300 line document would be 30 lines.

I am sigining off and going to bed.

Oops P.S.
IF you are concerned with burning bridges (always a good idea) and/or will need them as a reference, then perhaps you want to keep a lower profile than I just suggested ;) You can still refuse the severance pay and signature, but keep the sarcasm to youself.

Smile.

oops
and, unh, duh, I used to be able to spell the word but . . .
oops me again!
I know, should be sounds.  I forgot my S.  I forgot to ask, does anybody know where the Axolotl company is located (state)?  Just curious.

Oops!
I meant this is the only way to get my foot to the right job by going back to school part-time. So many colleges offer online courses that you can do from your home, but of course you have to go to the actual school to take your tests like in math, etc., so you do not get caught cheating. It's really worth completing your education these days. I figured my daughter will be able to come home on her own in about 3 years, so I should be able to find a decent job by then rather than making 6 or 7 cents a line as an MT. I cannot get anywhere with that kind of money.
oops
oops - I think I posted that backwards - you should make more doing the 55 line - sorry!
Oops!!!
My fault, excuse..
