personal info is always at risk just by being online

all over the world...the perps are trying to get everyone's personal information....not just that company and their stupid error.....nothing is secure online no matter for the encryption codes or anything - NOTHING is 100% secure online...*hear that? all you people who bank online and pay bills online*???  Just because it hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it is not in the works.

I remember few years ago Western Union got hacked (one of the oldest companies in America) and told all 100,000 customers to *cancel all your credit cards as we do not know what information the perps got on all of you*

Nothing is 100% secure online, not banking, not medical records, not your social security numbers nor your personal records.....even if you see the little lock at the task bar.....means not much to a computer whiz/cracker.

Medscribe Online....any info?
Just trying to see if this company is legit or not.  Do they pay on time?  Thank you.
posting personal info on the net

It's gotten very scary, especially to people who are trying to get a nut case out of their life ie: victims of domestic violence, etc.  I live in a large metropolitan area and our county clerk has property records on the internet.  All you have to do is type a name in and see if you can find who your looking for.

Our local YWCA where I volunteer has tried to stop this, but he says that the records are available in person, always have been..well, it takes a person a lot more effort to go down and dredge through them in person...duh.  So again people, just be careful.

Personal info from survey's
Oh, it asks enough info and you can count on it collecting your IP address, that is all it takes to find out exactly who you are. This survey may be free - but you can bet her future survey's will cost you to take, and once she has all this data, you can bet your sweet bippy her site to access all of this information is going to be a pay site! She is not interested in improving anything in our field, she is only interested in $$$$$ she can make collecting data and making this data seem like it means something.
No personal info, no money, no scam.

Someone is definitely not pleased with the show of solidarity.

No personal info, no money, no scam.  Nothing but MTs helping one another to regain self-respect, and industry respect.

This has been in the works for 2 years, finally come to fruition.  Service owners, get used to it.

so, basically they are asking for $$ AND personal ID info -- RED FLAG(S)!! NM
.
You can't commit identify theft with general personal info
that is found in a resume. They would need to have more detailed info like ss#, which hopefully people aren't dumb enough to put in their resume anyway. Definitely if someone calls you asking for this, don't give it to them. However, as for the people that sent in their resume, it's not possible to steal your identity with the same stuff they could have just as easily gotten out of the phone book. Of course, I do believe that you should be cautious about your personal information, but there's no need to be so paranoid (like the Brian guy on the main page). People should be keeping a close eye on their credit reports anyway with the world the way it is now.
At the risk of being rude, PLEASE can you tell me
your company? Sounds like just what I am looking for. I believe you that they are looking for quality and weeding out the rest, and I SO WANT TO WORK for a company that cares about quality!! I promise I won't bash you, and you can even reply by email! I am sooooooooooooooo trying to find just a decent company = so that I can leave that - other one - forever!
I would say enter at own risk...
They are great at first but run out of work very easily...emails go unanswered..switching from account to account...
Again, at the risk of offending you.
You must be doing something wrong if you have 10 years of experience and are doing all this applying and testing and still not getting a call-back. I have almost 30 years and I didn't necessarily hear back about everything I applied for but I still did not find it necessary to take anything that low.

And sure you can still make money at 7 cpl. But even to make $100/day you have to type almost 1500 lines. And that's on the assumption that one doctor will dictate that much every day. And by the time you do 1500 lines for that doc, how much are you going to have left to do it again for another one?
At the risk of being called mgmt, I have to say (sm)
that when I started 2 years ago my very first check was direct deposited, but I can't remember how much time they had to do it.  I DO remember I was shocked, because the company I had come from always told us, it took several pays before it went through.  I think it was because they just didn't bother with the paperwork involved.
At the risk of sounding offensive
You must be doing something wrong. Admittedly, every opening posted gets probably 100 applicants, but they are still hiring good people. I hated the job I had, applied/tested/interviewed for one that sounded good, and got that at 9 cpl. I wanted some easy typing, so I applied/tested/interviewed for another one, similar to the one the OP is looking for and got that one for 8.5 cpl.

Of course, now that the company has read that they can find chumps to sit and type it for 7 cpl, my job security may be out the window. Of course, the same people that will screw their fellow American MTs out of work by working for that amount will be the first ones on here crying about how they lost their account because it got sent offshore just to save a few pennies.
At the risk of getting flamed, my advice for any MT - sm
not just Wbmx - is if you don't like VR, you better start training for a new career. I'm not saying it is good or necessarily bad, but I suspect the days of having a choice of whether to use it or not are over.
If you worked, you should get paid. It is a risk on both parts. I would sm

call them and ask why you were not paid.

I have heard lately about companies that do not pay on time, are constantly late, never the right amount, and it amazes me that people continue to work for them.

If you just started with them and left, you still need to be paid for thew work you performed.

Read the rest of this post at your own risk....
I wonder why people like CindyMT (below) are in this business.  I became disgusted with this thread within 2 reads.  Things are horrible at MQ and many other MTSOs right now so tempers are short, I understand that, but what is needed are some POSITIVE minds working to find a way to improve things, even if it means leaving one company for another to get some peace.  If you are getting thrown under the bus by one, maybe it is time to leave.  MQ has totally thrown their QA under the bus and their MTs before that, which is why I am reading company threads, and this thread definitely gives TT a bad rap if what some say is true and it's not a bad place to work.  Good luck to all in this business...where the smart and strong shall survive and the weak and angry will perish.
My Virus Protector would not let me go onto InHealth's webpage. Enter at your own risk!

that's why I went with online
I had the same situation. Was being paid about $14.5 w/nighttime differential. Myself and 2 other MTs in the hospital did all the work (out of about 6 total) and were paid the lowest. When they hired someone who supposedly had a lot of experience that did not know basic rad terminology (and I mean this was REAL bad) and typed no more than 12 simple chest/bone reports in a 5-hr day and wouldn't fire her, I quit.

Best move I ever made. Went COBRA for 18 mos. Would never go back. They called about 6 mos later asking if I cd prn (they were 700 reports behind with the 2 other top MTs out) & I told them $20/hr and they wouldn't do it - so no go for me.
on their online app, it says they don't have PT.

where is the online EC
nm
They have ads online, just none on here.
They have ads out all over the internet saying they are hiring, just none on here and I applied.  They offered me the position the day after I applied and I got suspicious after I realized they didn't even require me to take any sort of test or anything.  I hate that they sent me the equipment BEFORE they gave me this info, but I am going to mail it right back to them, it sounds too shady to me as well.
Well I tried looking online for information
but there was none of any help. I think that is a sign to decline the offer.
This is for online work...
maybe you have a backlog on C-phone work, but always a shortage with online.
OK- I didn't know they had online AND
C-Phone work.  I may still apply....
Thanks...I went online and applied. nm

Online testing
Does anyone else have a problem with online testing for a company, in response to an ad on the job board, before even speaking with a recruiter or person from the company?  The ad gives no indication of pay or the shift they are hiring for - do I spend time taking a test and then find out the hours I need are not available?  Do I spend time taking a test, then find out the pay is so low and the insurance so high that I would not have applied, had I known this before hand?  Does it feel kind of impersonal to take a test without even having had contact with a person?  Do you  spend time taking the test and hope the hours are what you want or do you just ignore this job posting?
Applying online....
On www.mditrans.net there is a link on the left that says apply online. I don't think there is a link to apply online at the other site, just email/phone numbers if you wish to contact them.
ascripts online

Has anyone heard of them? Thanks for the info.

thanks, I did the online application for TT
hope to hear from them soon.
Not at online companies.

The ads tell all.  They all pay between 7 and 9 cpl.  Some will pay 10, but I would say they are probably ESL accounts that they can't find anyone to do.

Again: Nowadays this is done ONLINE...sm
What is going on on this boards?

Is this some kind of advertising campaign to buy

BOOKS

for doing MTing?

MTs are pressured to use hot keys (shortcuts) instead of the mouse ,, and not to take one's fingers off the keyboard, especialy when doing VR.

Why should I go and look into my books, wasting all that time?

one can look up these 'slangs' online,
does not mean one is a user.
8-9 cpl for online MTSOs and

Anyone take the online Medware test?

usually, for the online tests, you can download...
the voice file into a file on your computer, then download into Express Scribe player (free online), so you can use your foot pedal instead of the keyboard.
No shortage on my online account
I only work via .wav account right now, so that is ONLY online work. My account has a backlog, and the total amount of minutes on the system for all online accounts awhile ago was about 2900, so I have no idea what's going on with your account, because there's no shortage that I can see.
Another ? about Med. Transcription Corp. & Online App.

Hi,

They ask what is your preferred specialty and preferred work type as well as most difficult specialty and work type.

What are they referring to when they say work type?  I'm confused.  Don't understand what they are referring to.

Thanks.

You can file a complaint online at www.bbb.org
.
I have made 3 complaints with the online BBB and it
did not cost a cent. It never hurts to try.
I sent them my resume and took their online tests...
they e-mailed me and said I did extremely well on the tests. Then I took the online transcription test. I told them ahead of time that in my 15 years of transcribing I did maybe 5 OP reports and they said that was fine. I have NO experience in them whatsoever.  One of the test reports was an OP which I failed miserably.  The other 2 reports I did fine on.  However, they did not hire me and I have to believe it was solely on that one OP report because all they could tell me was I did well on MOST of the transcription test reports.  Oh well...I have heard a lot of good about them though apart from running out of work.
Turbotax online, you don't have to buy software

Medscribe online test!?

Anybody ever try to apply with Medscribe? I have tried to contact these people repeatedly, taken their online test 3 times, and still I have no idea whats going on! I spoke to the recruiter guy, he said he would try to find out what the problem is, but I have not heard from him in awhile! Anyone else have this same problem?

I use a combination of online and books
I do radiology and have 4 Stedmans - radiology, medical and surgical equipment, cardiovascular and pulmonary, and ortho. I had a big drug book when I was typing acute care, but found that it was WAY too cumbersome and so used Medline Plus for drugs. I can't do without my Dorlands online, but if you go to dorlands.com, you have to pay for a subscription, so I used mercksource.com, clicked on Medical Dictionary and it takes you to Dorlands, and that page is in my Favorites. Of course, the reason I like radiology is that 99% of the time you're typing the same thing over and over and you rarely have to look anything up! But it's that 1% that'll get ya.
Yes, you can also print them from Utilipro online. nm

I took TransTech online test, anybody else? SM
How long until you hear from them?? TIA.
Online Externship needed
I am a transcription student looking for an online company that offers an externship. I have to complete an externship in order to graduate, but need to do so online, and am having trouble finding an online company that would be willing to take me in. I have looked at multiple sites for transcription companies but still feel like I am lost. Does any one know: Are there any companies offering online externships?

has anyone used the Keystrone online application?
I tried submitting it but it only brings me to a blank browser page.
Is there an ExText manual available online?
nm
Why send resumes? Take the online tests.
Most of these outfits have online tests. You'll hear back a lot quicker, I'm sure.
You can purchase that insurance online. Just go to their website. You sm
do not need to be in a group.
I applied online either at their website or from a job posting on here (sm)
I didn't hear anything for about a week...so then I just called them and told them I submitted a resume and application (and that questionaire too) online and they asked me a few questions, then said someone would get back with me...I figured it would be a while but I heard back from them like an hour later and they offered me a position. I've been here about a month now and like it very much.
