professionals?

This is the issue I have...

We are no longer professionals. How you can even imply we have to act like professionals.

We have benefits dangled in our faces that can be taken away at any time, are told to work harder and longer hours to make even less than we used to, we are constantly expected to just magically adapt to any and all changes made by the industry or employer, whether they have our best interest at heart or not, which is usually lets see, NEVER in our favor. Then we are told we are not to be 'catty' about it or complain, but are supposed to just sit quietly like little children and be dictated to...

Meanwhile, our bills are not getting paid, we are forced to work like factory workers, with quotas and time constraints, all while maintaining perfect quality and never complaining or thinking ever or ourselves.

Get real. We are people, just like you. In my opinion, the only reason QA has gotten so out of hand is to justify jobs. If hospitals really cared about quality, or patients, for that matter, they would pay appropriately. Bottom line, as you said, it is just a business. That is what is so sickening. When I started over a a decade ago, it was NOT, it was in the business of humanity. Forgive us old-timers who still think that is how it should be.

Quality - HA! It is a tool used to keep MTs down mostly, even when it starts out as a tool to help MTs. You are not fooling anybody. This is about money, it is about QA making more money than the MT who is doing all the actual work...

Without us, you would be nothing, you would have no jobs for YOU to complain about US.

No one would have jobs without reports being transcribed, the way the system is now, anyway.

I hear one of our 'sister' MTs is hard at work developing a type of template to be used in the future, where MTs will not even be needed...reports will be be verbatim but the doctor will follow a template.

Companies should be helping MTs become editors and we should all be trained in QA. Pay us what we are worth before you demand we act as professionals. We have been reduced to factory worker mentality and our fighting to make our lines/hours every day, sitting there slugging it out trying to piece together reports that can at least make sense, then to have someone go through our reports and pick apart grammar or style, QA fighting with each other many times over who is right...

WE are the blood, sweat, and tears...

Totally agree with the premium pay and well seasoned MTs. That should go as well for QAs, managers, supervisors, etc. When you hire inadequate staff, the company just barely humps along, requiring many more editors and QA people to clean up the mess. Are they saving any money this way? Not in the long run. At minimum an MT should have 3 years of acute care hospital experience. Those skills should be well developed and tested before employed with any company. There are plenty of very skilled MTs out there but they don't work for 6 and 7 cpl. They are skilled, fast and can crank the work out like nothing else. As a suggestion in referring to a previous comment from an earlier post; theres a lot of dirt on here about companies, of which I don't doubt, but.... What if people could actually bring to this board, the companies where they absolutely love where they are working and pass that info on. That would be so much more helpful when looking around rather than telling us all the bad places. And, one more thing, if you believe you are worth more than what you are being paid and believe you should be treated better, why not move on? If people would keep moving on and up away from the companies that do not treat MTs fairly then we would either force them to change their ways or put them out of business, its up to you. One person can make a difference, let it start with you.

Info on Diagnostic Professionals, Inc.
Hello, does anyone have any information on this company or currently work for them?  They say they pay hourly, does anyone know the rate?  Any info appreciated.  Thanks!
BEWARE OF TRANS AM ASSOCIATES/MT PROFESSIONALS

Ok everyone if you ever get any emails or communication from a company that is same as the car trans am and associates also their software works with MT Professionals DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT EVEN BOTHER!!!!!  They are the biggest fraud and rip off company on the internet.  They are based in Valrico, Florida.

They will say you can learn free etc etc and they claim to be Christian based etc.  They are so rip off.  You have to buy the software first which is over $500. total.  You do practice files they say everyone has to whether your an entry level or a pro at transcription.  Then you finish and if you finish before their two week minimum requirement you have to wait to download the next group sometimes a week or more.  Then after you do 4 groups you test and you may pass the test but they will say you have errors whether they are formatting, spacing, spelling, punctuation, etc.  It is a gip cause you actually probably don't have those errors.  Plus, they are not consistent at all regarding punctuation.

So PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT HAVE CONTACT IF YOU GET COMMUNICATION DELETE IT OR REPORT THEM!!  THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY AND RUN.

It is a situation where most of us are trusting enough to think it is an innocent ploy that they will help us learn if we are not as experienced.  They never have you practice on any other specialty except for rheumatology and your practice files are only clinic notes and when you test it is a consultation.

Agree 100% professionals should be courteous at all times no matter what employee status
