info on MedScribe
Can anyone tell me what platform they use and if you use the same platform for all accounts.  Are you eligible for pto after a few months of being hired?  Do they send work overseas?  Thanks to all who answer.  Have a great night.
Medscribe info please
I have heard that Medscribe pays by the hour for Radiology?  Anybody know if this is correct?
does anyone have any new info on MedScribe???
Posts are a couple of years old, and not very positive from what I can gather.
Okay ... I get that. Sorta.
Even though that just seems like a weasly way around it, I know there are probably weasly ways around a lot of laws.

But how about this one? (From the IRS website)

'Services Provided as Key Activity of the Business

If a worker provides services that are a key aspect of the business, it is more likely that the business will have the right to direct and control his or her activities. For example, if a law firm hires an attorney, it is likely that it will present the attorney’s work as its own and would have the right to control or direct that work. This would indicate an employer-employee relationship.'

If you owned a service and you contracted with the government (I'll just pretend it was a VA Hospital), your transcription service contracted out the transcription. The main function of the VA Hospital wasn't transcription. It was medical care. You were a documentation service, which is not primarily what a hospital is there to do. If there was a problem with the work you presented to them, they would come to you and say, 'Hey, what gives? Your work sucks.' However, you probably wouldn't (if you used ICs) say to them, 'It wasn't me. It was this contractor I used. Talk to them.'

If you're a Transcriptionist contracting with a transcription company, are you not doing the exact same thing that a transcription company is there to do? Is not the work that you provide to the transcription company something they tell their clients came FROM THEM? In addition, do the companies you IC for (on a regular basis) tell you how to do your work? What software to use?

I'll be honest, I'm still a little bit fuzzy as to whether or not there is any real legality to the way the transcription companies expect to hire ICs - on just about any front. The lawyer I spoke with seemed to think there was very little legal room for this, but I'm sure he doesn't know everything yet, and I'm sure I didn't tell him everything he needed to know. You don't know what you don't know, y'know?

Either way, I'm still figuring it all out - and so is he - but the bottom line is that the illegal practice (UNQUESTIONABLY) runs rampant in our profession, which does make it harder to do it legally - however that's done.
Medscribe Online....any info?
Just trying to see if this company is legit or not.  Do they pay on time?  Thank you.
Looking for info on MedScribe Services out of OH....
Anyone know anything about them as far as work load, pay on time, etc.??
Any info on Medscribe Jacksonville? SM

Specifically, what the platform is like and what rate of pay is. Any information will be appreciated.  I'm acute care MT with 17 years of acute care experience, including teaching hospital accounts.

Thank you.

MedScribe info a few days
Mostly about the work and benefits.  You should be able to find it, I remember the posts.  Sounded like they were OK.
Any info good or bad on Medscribe out of FL....
I found some older posts on them, mostly about pay rate, but wanted to know how their software was, is it easy to get lines, are you happy, etc.  Thanks.
MedScribe insurance info?

Can anybody tell me if the insurance at Medscribe is any good?  Any idea of their per line pay rate for radiology?  Debating on submitting resume.  TIA!

Anyone have any info on Medscribe in Florida?
I am considering applying with them. My current company has been low on work almost all month, and I don't know how much more I can take. I was thinking of applying for an ER account with them since I have been doing ER for about 2 years now. Anyone have any experience with them? Any info, good or bad, would be very much appreciated!
I sorta don’t know what that means
outpatient text. Can you fill me in? You can email if you like, I am very confidental and do not have a really fuzzy with the higherups.
Thanks to all posters who shared MedScribe info!
I really appreciate it. Now for the stupid question of the year - I have been following MedScribe, as it seems a great company to work for. I had no idea there were two! Eegads!! The kind of luck I have, I will go work for the not-so-great one! Is the one in Jax the good one?? I just can't afford another zinger at this point - My financial situation just needs one more zing, and I'm heading for disaster beyond disaster.
I think the poster sorta confused
I do not think she is doing QA but rather has been hired on a 2c per line doing editing because of her lack of experience. I, of course, have done both straight and editing and definitely would not say my account has all good dictators- I work for a training hospital and we have the same as others, ESLs, bad English speaking, etc and here lately even our VR is having issues- taking more time to edit but after doing the same physicians (mostly) for years now I am not complaining. I would not work for a place that the pay was going down, getting horrible dictators and having to change formats for first 1 and then the other. I probably would go to my local Walmart if that were the case, no sense in knocking yourself out for probably same you could make there.
Any info about Medscribe, line rate, etc.? smsg
I checked archives but only found very old posts.  Any new updates?  Thanks.
Well this sorta makes sense but the MTSOs
If they knew about it. No company wants to pay a person to work if they are -working- on another job or 2 at the very same time they are supposed to be working for them. I think they should be reported but the MTSO's never listen to the MT's anyway. Maybe they should look at these posts starting keeping a tight rein on their managers the way they teach the managers to keep a tight rein on the MT's. The thing about salaried jobs is that they are nothing but glorified goof off jobs and companies are always paying people for doing nothing or, worse, working for other companies on company time.
Re MedScribe in Fla. Can anyone share insurance info for emp/spouse coverage? SM

I am especially interested in rate, copays, deductible, and prescription coverage, if possible.  Thanks very much!

BEware of Medscribe......... Listen to this.......I've had Susan interviewing and calling me for three months on an Editor position at $17/hr.  Well, after being told I did NOT get the job (even tho I was never tested), she had the nerve to call me back a week later and said the job reopened and she wanted me for it. I tried calling her and leaving messages for three days.  She never returned my calls.  I finally got ahold of her and she had the NERVE to tell me that the original person changed their mind and took back the position?  Did anyone ever hear of this?  So to all of you out there.......stay clear of Susan!!!!
Medscribe
SM, Yes it is all about me....it is about how all of us as potential hires should be treated. Besides, Ms. L did not even test for the QA position.....so the question is, was there really a position????
Medscribe
No, I'm sure she thinks ONLY about what is good for her not caring about how she plays around with other people. Sorry, but I don't have to take this kind of treatment and let her know it.
Medscribe
They're not the only one I've been working with one here in Canada and the same thing. I thought maybe it was me that was wrong but that's what they did too..mind you we got $1.50 to put up with it and work ha work we did or at least me!!!!
Medscribe
What's the story with these people? I tested before Christmas and never heard back (I know I did well).  Today they didn't answer an Email.  Should I keep on truckin'?
MedScribe
Things can change a lot in FOUR YEARS. I cannot imagine they would have been able to keep up that practice and still be around today. Maybe a person should simply ask them about the incident four years ago; you'd have nothing to lose and as an applicant, I would think they would HAVE to tell the truth about it. The problem is sometimes just ONE incident can get out of hand, repeated a little differently, and a different story could come out other than the real story. I'm not saying your friend didn't get paid. I'm just saying NO company could get away with this kind of protocol and still be in business.

Medscribe

anyone have a clue why Medscribe is constantly advertising for MTs?

medscribe
I don't know why, but whenever I post about this company it is not able to be found in the archives. I have posted many times about how miserable I was while working there. I didn't trust their line counter but I think worst of all was the way the talked down to me and scolded me for not making line counts which by the way... i normally could do but their accounts are MOSTLY re recorded and very VERY bad ESLs.... on top of a faulty line counter.

Medscribe
I did three weeks with them. Only filling in headers, sent to office where THEY input the macros (which we did not get paid for doing, of course) and I think I averaged about $3 per hr. A friend of mine got stiffed for her paycheck and they got threatened with illegal interstate activity because they were doing their business over state lines via phone. She got her money but it tooks MONTHS. This was a couple of years ago, but I don't think they've changed. Stay away from this place. The owner is a classical jerk.

I am interested hearing about your experiences there.  I read the story about the gal who had to sue to get paid, and before I went to work there, I asked about it.  They denied it vehemently, but in the proceeding 4-6 months, I had 2 checks that went missing.  I really do not know if it was the fault of the post office or not, but I was not impressed.  I also am not very impressed by the support system in place at this point, but would rather dish that privately.

I have been considering other employment because I always meet my minimum line count, and my quality scores seem to average in the 98% range, and I rarely take time off, but having only worked for HealthScribe (which I would almost take back right now) and MedScribe, I really don't know  what a good company looks like.  I am pretty specific at this point about what I want in a company, but it seems like they tell you what you want to hear and is not necessarily true.

Medscribe
Does anyone work for Medscribe and if so, can I get some feedback - considering working with them.  Thanks.
Medscribe NY
thanks
MedScribe?
Anybody working for MedScribe?  If so, how do you like it?
MedScribe

I have never heard of this company.  Where are they located?

Hope you find out the information that you need.

medscribe NJ
Does anyone have info on medscribe out of NJ?  there seems to be one in Florida but would really like to know if anyone has experience with medscribe in NJ.  Thank you in advance.
medscribe

Wow.  I was just about to apply because their ad sounded good.  I read the archives and realize I sidestepped a mess.  I want to thank all of you for coming together and sharing your experiences so that others are forewarned.

medscribe?
Archives stuff is old, old.  Sounds good - 12 hour time period to work. Please, anyone know anything?
MedScribe

MedScribe does only pays between 7 and 7.5 cpl full-time IC.  There is an incentive bonus plan in place (if you are full-time) where if you fullfull all of your line commitments it is another 0.08 cpl, and they will place an additional 0.05 cpl for CMT status.

MedScribe
A family policy will run you more like $195 per week (dental and vision extra)for the $500 deductable plan.
I like it at MedScribe
So far so good, little over 6 months.  Happy with the line rate and the insurance, my supervisor is very nice too.  They must have added some accounts because I have heard they are hiring right now.  I have not worked for the other 2 companies you mentioned, but did come from a rather big company and I like that I can call MedScribe and reach someone.  Hope that helps.
MedScribe
Hello.  Does anyone know if MedScribe in Jacksonville, FL, is a good company to work for?  Also, on another note, have "they" decided to drop the hypen from "well-developed, well-nourished?"   Thanks.       LLD
I have been with MedScribe
they have been a fine company to work for.  I liked the training and support from my supervisor is professional.  I also came from a previous company that issued checks, so now having direct deposit is a blessing in my life.  They are OK by me, I hope that helps.  Good luck to you.  Karen.
Medscribe FL

Anyone willing to share Medscribe's acute care line rate and what their average LPH are working at Medscribe?  Thanks.

MedScribe
I started with MedScribe about 7 months ago and so far so good.  They have a 12-hour window to do your work within, but that is for acute care work only I was told.  The sign-on bonus is paid out $100 a pay period once you get out of training and up to speed, so that was nice too.  I have seen emails where they are starting a new hospital account, maybe they are hiring.  Hope that helps.
Medscribe
Sorry for the confusion.  I should have been more careful before posting.  It is Medscribe, FL.
MedScribe
I started with them almost a year ago, platform is easy to learn and you can use normals and templates for ERs, plus you are paid for all of them.  I have the healthcare only, did not take the dental or vision as I pay that myself, but the medical is a nice policy.
MedScribe
Very happy there and like the flexibility.  Hope this helps.
