Employee pays ALL?
At my current company I only pay $75 per month - company pays rest. Sounds a bit odd, I must agree.
As an employee, your employer pays
for your insurance, taxes, etc., and for that it is normally about 2 cpl less. I work as an IC for a company at 10 cpl, but employees start at 8 cpl.
So in actuality, an IC pays MORE taxes than an employee?

Webmedex pays 6 holidays for ft employee status.
x
I am employee currently, but had been offered
a position by them previously as IC.
That sounds like the FT employee plan they offered
me but I wanted to be SE. That way if I get too tired, I don't have to do more than 6000 lines and the incentive was much better.

My bonuses are $50 for the first 10,000 lines in the quarter reached in a payperiod, then $10 for every 10,000 lines for the rest of the quarter.

No, but I've been offered a job by them and (sm)
haven't been able to find out a whole lot of info about them. They sound okay. Hopefully you'll get some more responses to your question. Good luck!
I've been offered several positions with 9+ cpl
rate because I tested so well.  I've been told that they couldn't pay me more than that to start with because that left no place for me to go.   Maybe not all companies offer a rate based on testing, but I know first hand that several do.
I'm being honest when I say I've been offered that lately by

at least 3 different companies and that is as employee, not IC.  I am able to do the horrible ESLs without any blanks at all, which may have something to do with it.  These are all companies that advertise on the job boards here.   I have also been offered less by some very small companies.  I think one company offered 7 cpl as an IC and that was based on experience as I didn't test at all.   I e-mailed back and said no thanks.

I've just been offered a position
at Transolutions but the recruiter e-mailed info, and I haven't had a chance to ask any questions. Do they provide the computer? How much training do they usually do?
I've been offered a clinic position making 0.72 cpl
as an IC, have to train for 1-2 days in which you type reports but you don't get paid for them.   No it isn't TransScam.
They've used ExText in the past. Ad from 2006 said you need Word 2003. Offered 8 cpl for

I've never seen employee status on 24-hour TAT

But maybe someone offers it. Mostly what I've found are small companies that offer 24-hour TAT, so benefits are not part of the deal.

Statuatory employee versus regular employee....
Can someone tell me the difference between a statuatory employee versus a regular employee?  My company offeres IC or SE status....I am confused about whether switching over the SE would benefit me more than IC status that I have been for some time with them?  What are the benefits and disadvantages of being an SE versus IC?  Thanks for all of your help!
They hire both IC and employee. I am an employee (see message)
and I have full benefits. I am very happy that I came to work here. I came as a statutory employee from a large company. Everyone at MDI has been great to me.
Depends on if you are employee or statutory employee (sm)
Employee, 8th and 23rd of month
Stat. Employee, 15th and 30th month
Diskriter - Anyone go from their employee to hospital employee with them?
Thinking about giving up on being their employee and applying for a hospital employee position through them, they have one in PA right now that looks good.  How is it for scheduling?  Do you keep your line rate or get whatever the hospital pays? Who manages those accounts, is it the same PM and DR that are on the other ones?  I have DR and feel like she doesn't have a clue what she is doing and it is so annoying, but I just don't have the guts to let the company know she needs to step it up a notch because the transcriptionists are not happy under her.  Are QA the same people or through the hospital.  They have 1 QA that is constantly asking us questions on doctors and format, things we should be asking that QA person.  Annoying that new people move up to QA but people who've been there 2 or 3 years get treated like dirt and jumped account to account.
What good does it do? They've lied, they've betrayed us.

They've taken all they are going to take from me.   I am not going to waste any more time being angry.   I hate the way things ended, but I refuse to accept the blame for any part of it because I know that was a lie too, even though they did try to blame the MTs.  I know part of the problem was quality issues, but QA wasn't to blame for that either, although they have been.

It is time to pick up and move on.   I think mgmt will reap what they sow.   For those who worked on the main account Webmedx is still hiring, though the best time slots have already been taken.

What the heck? I've never heard that in the 8 yrs I've worked here. sm
Go back to your STM or over his or her head.
Since you've brought it up, I've stopped SM

giving the negative info because every time I have in the past I am called a disgruntled ex-employee or told that my experience has no relation to what the company is like today.

I won't repeat the information I've given in the past, anyone can find it on searches.  I've decided to just let the people have their experience with the company and that experience will validate everything I've ever said about those people.

The same people own and run that company--they may have new names doing the management, but it still runs the same way.

You've got it ~ you've hit the nail on the head....

I can Google until dawn and still not find John Smith in NY - you know the neurologist...  Cut me a break!  I've now learned to ask my online company for a list of referring physicians (since none of the accounts are in my state) and also ask for websites for the hospitals, but I still don't take more than 5 min of my own time to find referring physicians.  I send it right through with a verify cc:...

As far as making an educated guess, I would only do that if it was my own account and I know the dictator well.  For the online company, it is their responsibility to make that educated guess as it is their client, not mine.  I leave that up to the company to make assumptions; this way it is on their back, not mine when it comes to the legality of the report.  Ultimately, the physician is responsible when signing that report or there should be clause on those reports that state dictated but not read.  If that clause is not there, then it is the physician's responsibility to know the content, not the MT.  An MT can only transcribe what they hear and really should not be making educated guesses on anyone since we live in a world of sue-happy patients and their malpractice insurance is so high.  If there is a question, it needs to go the dictator to resolve.

JMO - been doing this for over 20 years.

I've been a QA 15 years and I've never heard
of any company only paying for the actual Keystrokes of the blank. You would literally make less than minimum wage that way. Waaay less.
Only employee and statutory employee..no IC

I got a new job but it pays less. nm

QA pays much much less than MT
/
MQ pays its MTs less than
cleaning ladies make. Believe me, there are many other jobs out there that will give you better than the pittance (and bad treatment) MQ has to offer. You deserve better. Don't settle for MQ's nonsense.

MDI pays 9-11 cpl.

My VR pays at
4 cents a line. I really hate to see that places are going even lower than that. My platform is an excellent one and if not for that would never be able to make the $20+ per hour pay that I make. It is so unresonable for these places to just cut pay to the bone. How will anyone be able to make any kind of living if this keeps on? From what I have seen over the years, VR has never gotten to the point where it can be on its own and by reducing the scale of pay, pretty soon companies will see MTers dropping like flies instead of doing their work.
OSi ALWAYS pays on time!
In all the time I have worked there they have never been delinquent.
That's TransHealth that pays that way. nm
xx
I would not go with a company that pays so low
and lies about stuff
keystrokes pays, are they......

On time?  I do hope so !  Just because we work at home, some of these companies think, for some reason, that we will do the work (and it is a REAL job) for no pay.  We ought to have the RIGHT to do that to them !

Almost every company pays more
Just pick any other company and apply.
Transolutions pays 100.00 for every sm
year that you are employed. Otherwise, they don't pay squat.
Who do you work for that pays
pays per minute?
Does anyone know who pays QA hourly? sm
I need a QA job that will pay me hourly, so if you have any leads, send them my way. :)
MQ pays QA by the hour.

Is it true that RIU pays 5 cpl for MTs? How do they keep them? sm

I have heard that they act real nice but are back stabbers too.

I had a friend who was an MT with them and she stayed because they intimideated her into staying, told her that she would fail elsewhere.  Do they treat all their employees as slaves?

Sad.  P, my friend, said that they profess to be a good fine Christian company and then cheat, lie, and stab you behind your back?

Sad.

transolutions pays (nm)

spheris pays ...
Every other Friday
MDI FL pays biweekly.

Actually, we both know that we are going to work more for the one who pays more!

Anyone know what TransTech pays?
I saw their ad, but they don't having anything about starting cpl rate.  I have been a MT for 10+ years and don't want to waste my time testing with this company if they don't pay well.  Thanks!
Does anyone know what Keystrokes pays for RAD? (sm)

Is it still only $1.25 per page?  Or is it by line.  Need more up to date info.  Please!

who pays per report??

Can anyone tell me what companies pay per report for radiology and which ones have Meditech?  Thanks.

So where might you work? My co pays 6.5.
I'm not putting that down. I believe all MT work is equal. The companies do not seem to feel the same way.
Does anyone know how Transcend pays out
Their $1000 sign-on bonus?  Thanks so much!
Transcend pays still
one day, 4 hours with trainer = $60.00
It pays to take a "pay cut" sometimes
I made -good money- at my old MT job but in return for the -good money- I had to tolerate unqualified superiors whose arrogance and abuse would not be tolerated in most places. I stayed in the hot seat with those people for stupid reasons and none of it because of things I personally did wrong. I would not leave for a long time because I thought I could never make the same amount of money anywhere else and besides I was honestly too lazy to want to start over again. Finally though I had enough, my husband had enough, my kids had enough of my whining but never taking steps to get myself out of that situation.

I took what I thought would be a -pay cut- with another company but it turned out that my current facility is 10 times easier and the supervisors are actually qualified to supervise me. I could not be happier. I make more money even with a bit of a -pay cut- because I'm not constantly on mandatory phone calls for problems unrelated to me personally, plus spending time reading pointless emails. The line incentives help too. My account is so much easier, my supervisors leave me alone to do my work, and my family is happy at dinnertime.

Forget the cpl rate because alot of the time it is tied in to a bad company that is forced to pay so much because they can't keep good MT's. If you are in a similar situation to mine, stop whining, get off your lazy butt and find a company that pays you -maybe less- but will turn out to be more and that respects you and gives you good accounts.
