the circle game of resumes and ads

Same old ads, same old resumes.  Nothing is going to change, people.  We are stuck with each other.

Happy Labor Day.  Or should I say Groundhog Day?  If you catch my drift.....

I actually came full circle...
I'm back working with the same wonderful ladies who hired me back in 2002 when I first moved to Maine.  They are just a small local MTSO and they are absolutely the bees knees to work for...I couldn't be happier.  Well, I mean, unless I won powerball or something--then the grin would be really hard to smack off my face.
Full Circle
Was wondering if anyone has heard of this company or has worked there? Appreciate any info... TIA!
full circle
I have never heard of this company before their post. What puts up a flag to me is I believe this is the same Donna Heusner that worked with Debbie at eTranz that did not like to pay, but PLEASE do your own research to make sure.
Full Circle
Did not mean to sound nasty, just did not want anyone who did not know to confuse one with the other and get eTransPlus in any trouble.
Full Circle Transcription

Hello out there!! Does anyone have any info on Full Circle Transcription?

TIA

The inner circle takes care of itself...
One of the inner circle had a death in her family and the world stopped for everyone else in the inner circle to do whatever. Everyone else in the company seem to be the foster child or step-child.
Consider yourself in the inner circle. She is great to people she likes but
quite the opposite if she does not. There is no pattern either, all a whim. I am lucky that she likes me, but I am afraid that the knife will someday be in my back.

JLG as a company has been great to me. Do not let the recruiter spoil the opportunity to work for a great company. Just grin and bear it because once you are in, you do not have to deal with her.
Not being in the 'inner elite circle' I used to be offended
because they were always posting about so-and-so making a kazillion lines and how happy and wonderful for them, and on and on - yeah right, while I would be sitting there struggling with the really bad dictators, losing hundreds of dollars a month doing VR - not even able to make my minimum.

People should not be forced to be social on the job. If you had a private site somewhere for those who do then you would not be offending anyone. Then you could all go warm and fuzzy over each other.

This business is cut-throat in reality, and it seems to me there are always a certain group of MTs who get all the good meaty work, but you always have the people to clean up the garbage.

Not nice to have it thrown in your face.
full circle/eTranz/etransplus
eTranz is not eTransPlus, and one has nothing to do with the other. eTranz is/was the problem company.
Dontcha just love the pic of the sewing circle and gossping
We have no one to represent us who demands we be compensated for our knowledge and experience. Any organizations created appear to be pro-business and pro-CEO and administration/management.

I guess we MTs are too meek to stand our ground.
Full Circle Transcription in Acworth, GA. Does anyone know who owns this company? SM
Please email me if you do.  I may like to contact them and would just like to know ahead of time whom I'll be emailing.
look, it is all the name of the game

So, if I happen to be a favorite where I work because I am a high producer, I should not benefit from that?  I should not benefit from that because another MT who is not a high producer does not get the same treatment as me?  So, you are saying that it's unfair treatment to that MT.  Well, I think it's unfair treatment of high producers!  We are the ones that produced those lines.  No one came and helped us type.  We are the ones that sacrificed our personal time to put more into our job.  We are the ones that sat up late at night while others were getting a good night's rest.  We are more often than not the ones that work the overtime and help out on many, many accounts at a moments notice, practially being on call.  So, I think that you get what you deserve.  If you give normal, average, you get normal, average.

I am tired of being treated unfairly because I work longer/harder than some and reap some benefit from that.  I deserve it.  If you want it, put forth the same effort.  We all have the chance to become high producers or favorites at our companies.  It is just a matter of personal choice if you want to be one or  not.

name game
I have it at the tip of my tongue but it may get removed if posted.

pay.  There is at least 1 person below who is upset because he/she doesn't get the same rate the OP gets.  Question--did you just accept the line rate offered or did you attempt to negotiate it?  More often than not, the MT is offered a line rate and just says okay and it doesn't have to be that way.

If you have years of experience with 98% quality or better, high-level acute care work (not just rural hospital gallbladder/appendix type stuff) and are willing to work the off shifts you can hold up each of those items and all of them as a whole to leverage yourself into a higher per-line rate right from the start.

It may only be that the MT next to you is making more per line because they did a better job of negotiating the rate.

It's all a numbers game.
When we lived in NYC it sounded like we made a lot of money but we lived the same as we did in Pittsburgh. The numbers are different, but they're all relative.

$400,000 for a house, you make $200,000 a year.

$200,000 for a house, you make $100,000 a year.

Just depends on where you live. You might make more money elsewhere numbers-wise but the standard of living is still the same if you have the same job and educational background.
Downsizing is the name of the game

I would stay away unless you want to work your fingers to the bone, be monitored on how many minutes you clock in, and appreciate little or no respect for the work you do.

SHOULD HAVE BEAT THEM AT THEIR OWN GAME...SM
Sounded like a backstabbing, dirty trick to play.  But if you had known (and the NEXT time they ask you for a list of worst dictators) you will know what to do...thanks for the tip for the rest of us:  Just do a turnabout and give them a list of your BEST one...they'll send the worst to India!!! Kind of like switching drinks with someone who's spiking your drink when they're not looking (LOL)
Thanks for playing our game!
And all you get is this lousy :) icon

Competition is the Name of the Game!

What we have always seen happen within the U.S. between U.S. workers in the job market , competition , is expanding to the global marketplace. U.S. workers now not only have to compete with each other in the arena of  marketable skills , they must also compete with those in other countries who not only possess the same marketable skills , but do so at lower prices. Naturally , a company which can get the same production out of a worker for a smaller price is going to choose that worker, as the savings in labor costs will increase the bottom line.We lost our manufacturing base on just this scenario...a fatal blow to the soundness of our economy , IMO. That left us with a service sector base , which is also facing the same threat , with the likelihood of the same result , suffered by our manufacturing base.

One solution is as Obama has suggested. The feds take away any tax breaks companies which outsource get to the deteriment of U.S. workers. Will the U.S. government do something like that? I doubt it. Look at what is happening right now over the issue of illegal immigration into the U.S. We were attacked on 9/11 ; drugs and criminal are being brought across our borders ; our law enforcement officials and citizens are under attack ON OUR OWN SOIL from those coming across the border ; and in the economic arena , companies are hiring illegals and undercutting U.S. workers' wages.

The People have demanded the border be secured and the Congress passed a bill calling for U.S. border security. But , what has actually been done? NOTHING!!! Why? Because the feds don't want to secure the borders. If they did , the borders would be secured , or at least a serious attempt would have been made. So , why haven't they secured the border? Because U.S. companies want to employ illegals and pay them lower wages , thus increasing company profits. The dirty little secret , that isn't really a secret , is that our legislators and president are all about serving their masters...and that isn't We the People ; that is the corporate and banking classes who fund their campaigns and give them lucrative positions in their compamies when they leave office.

So , unfortunately there it is.

Then instead of playing their game, just come out

band together, are you game?
To all my fellow MDI'ers, I think it is time to tighten up the bootstraps and starting thinking out of the box. Let's get together in private, put our thinking caps on, combine resources, and see what we can do for ourselves and each other. Every email will be confidential... we still have our integrity! Well, they have turned into a game...
It's like survival of the fittest, pitting us against each other to get to the work first so we can make our lines, and it's ridiculous. Of course, they're shining like a new penny at the nonexistent TAT because we all dive as soon as a report pops up, but it's NO WAY for a person to have to make a living.

This is why I left on September 1st. First, I do not care to work for Transcend (mini-Q, IMO) and, second, I do not care for their tactics the past few months that have turned us all into blood-thirsty scavengers desperately trying to make ends meet.

And turning it into a battle royale for all MTs cross-trained on all accounts fighting for whatever scraps they deem fit to feed us?

Nope, life's too short and my skills far too valuable for THAT, the ultimate MTSO game-playing orchestration.

I left, now have a great gig FT with a great MTSO who has ample work.

I am a human being, not a catfish, and I refuse to bottom feed like some subhuman entity.

We ALL dserve better than that, IMO.
How ironic!! Game just ended. Sox won.
c
It all boils down to who will play the game
There have been a lot of good MTs at OSI. Most of those who do excellent work and have years of experience have left OSi because of tactics such as this. She may have a good work ethic and sunny disposition and do good work but is not in a better position to supervise other MTs who are better all around. The point is that people new to either the MT industry or to OSI are most often the ones promoted because they are most assuredly YES people since they don't have enough experience to know any better that OSI consistently does things such as break the wage and hour law among other things.
Can't play the game unless you have the equipment.

join forces, anyone game?

If there are any psychics, I could use the lottery numbers for the Big Game please :) nm
Good night everyone.
I do not want to take a job where it's the bait and switch. Tired of that game.
If you could email me that would be great. This profession is going down hill fast. You get a ton of job offers but no one wants to pay you anything. I wouldnt have a problem with some of the wages, IF Iived in India.. or somewhere else that the cost of living is lower, but unfortunately when you live in America, we need American-ized wages.
I SO agree. Loved the little tribute toward the end of the game :-) NM

Who will lead? I'm game and I will follow loudly. anyone else?
Our anger and disappointment at D's choice is bringing out what has need to be brought out LONG AGO. Our pay stagnated long ago, even those of us with 25 and 30 years plus experience. If someone has the gumption to get this news out, I will fully lend my support and voice. Please contact me off line. We can do something. Though we may feel like victims and even in some sense be victims (of our own trusting natures?), we do not have to act like victims. We do have power. Okay - anyone else
To clarify I get around their game & count my own too - ichart is short!
Tired of being ripped off
LOL I wasn't even thinking Xbox and Game Cube, but there
is a rapper named Ice Cube. He's the boyfriend/husband in Are We There Yet? and Are We Done Yet?
Sound mediocre - bait and switch game with them thought. nm

Good for you, if that is true. It is really a losing game. Wouldn't advise anyone to pursue it.

You have to lie a lot, wouldn't you agree?  It is all bait and switch for the recruiters.  They promise a lot, but the companies do not follow through.  Care to say who it is you are a hiring manager for?  LOL.  Never heard it called that before.

Get those resumes out.

Do not permit a company to abuse you.  You're worth way more than that.  I don't care what the excuse is, but the first sign of late pay is the first sign to find a new job.  I have no tolerance for this kind of crookery, none at all.  Best wishes...

There are tons of jobs out there for the taking.  What is a good fit for one may not be for another, and I wish you the best of luck.  I feel the larger the company the better off you are as far as timely pay, not to say that a smaller company isn't a good payer, but it seems the larger ones have more of a handle on it.

Never sign a contrast as an IC that says they'll pay you when they get paid.  That's not how to do good business.

Resumes....i am so done......sm

I have been doing MT for 13 years.  I have sent out resumes to about 10 different places.  NOT ONE ACKNOWLEDGMENT, not one reply to my emails asking whether or not the positions have been filled.

To all MTSOs who read this board...Why not just answer/reply/respond to our emails?  That is so unprofessional and this just kills any respect I ever had for any MTSO at this point.

It is a losing game. They make next to nothing, get paid for a warm body count. Losers. Recruiters

Collecting resumes?
I don't understand why they didn't at least call you. Did you have hospital and clinic experience? Sounds like you must have as you also edited, taught, and managed. What reasons do you think they would have transcription positions for close to 5 years? Do you think high turnover or collecting resumes?
Resumes, followup, etc.
The posts keep getting removed because of names being used, even though just informational, so PLEASE email the above email.  Maybe your resume was not received.  Our recruiter is on top of calls and emails (been with us since August and has turned that around since taking it over) and if she did not respond, she did not get it or followed up and you did not get it.  If you were referred by someone please say so and please also say that you had sent it in previously.  I will make sure that she gets it.  However, I know that she does not respond to resumes without the experience necessary, offshore or students, as it says in the ads.  She gets several hundred resumes a week and although we are growing, we are very particular about who is being hired, so she automatically does not consider those who do not meet the requirements and resumes/cover letters with typographical errors.  Not trying to be rude, just stating facts.  If you meet the requirements and did not get a response, send me an email.
I don't keep resumes on file, so...
I often get people who send their resume in multiple times in response to different job postings. That being said, if the applicant doesn't have the qualifications listed in the ad, their resume goes straight to the recycle bin without a response.
Resumes and applications

I handle resumes and applications (via email) for a national company.  I would like to give some resume and application tips as I am amazed every single day at what gets sent to me with the expectation that the applicant be considered for a professional, paying position.

Please consider the following:

-- Please do yourself a huge professional favor:  Make sure your email address is professional.  It is far better to have an email address janedoe334@hotmxxxx than to have funkydoglover6@xxxx or thejoneses@xxx.  Your first and last name (even if it has to be followed by numerics) would be best and if you need numerics why not add your zip code?  Please.  You will sound responsible, mature, and serious about your professional identity.

-- Please make sure your resume is an attachment.  It is best not to embed a resume unless the application or employer specifically asks you to.  Most embedded resumes sent in emails come with all the code and I simply will not wade through it all to see if there is something there to consider.

-- When you write your resume, make sure your contact information is at the top, including an address, your phone number(s) and email address.  (I suggest you print off your resume and have someone else proof it for errors, inconsistencies, formatting issues, etc.)

-- Name your resume appropriately.  Please don't attach it simply called Resume.  It would be best to name it with your first and last name and the word Resume in caes it gets separated from your email or, better yet, if it is saved to a file without the email!!  (Example:  JaneDoeResume)

-- Please, oh please, state in the subject line what position you are applying for.  Who is interested in an applicant who cannot even take the time to state what position they are applying for?  Not me!  I doubt many are.

-- Please send one email with resume for each position you apply for.  If you apply for three positions, I can only electronically file your email/resume in one position folder and you may be overlooked when collecting folders.

-- Please make some type of statement in the email and don't just send a blank email with the resume attached.  Just a simple, Please consider my attached resume in application for XXXX position is just fine.  A summary or synopsis of your qualifications or your life's history really is not necessary in the email because we are going to study your resume for that information.  A brief cover letter-type email is fine but it should read within the single window pane without scrolling.

-- Last, but not least, please read over your email for errors (should go without saying, I know) and remember to attach your resume!  It is so much more difficult to keep up with multiple emails because the resume was left off, then you want to add another piece of information, etc.  Do not be in such a hurry that your application email shows it.  As well, if you are applying for several positions and you are doing a copy/paste of the email content, make sure you change any job position titles within the email appropriately.

I really hope you will find this information useful -- I know for all the individuals who handle this information on the incoming will certainly make note of an outstanding resume/email application and sometimes that extra, Hey, this applicant has done a great job in presenting herself thus far can go a long way!

Sent resumes twice and never heard from them. nm

They have probably been overwhelmed with resumes since

they have been discussed so much lately.  I sent a resume and was offered a position without testing within just a few days of submitting it.  I accepted the position and they said it would take  1 to 2 weeks to get all the paperwork done, equipment, and get clearance from the account to access their system.  I ended up not accepting the position so not sure how long it would really take to get going.

I only heard from 1 out of 5 resumes I sent out
nm
Oh please, if you weed through the BS resumes
potential candidate! I was a recruiter for about 4 years and you should be able to read a resume in about 30 seconds before you want to consider that candidate.
They have been inundated with resumes lately
Please e-mail them again or call the office if you don't hear from them soon though.
Are they accepting resumes? sm

I used to work for them about 2 years ago on acute care and had to quit because everything they had required high speed internet and I only had dialup at the time.  I now have high speed and would be interested in working on one of their radiology accounts.  What are the line requirements for radiology?  Where would I apply?  There is no place on their website to apply.  Thanks.

On past resumes I have put...

Available on request in the Reason for Leaving box.  I had a past boss who was verbally abusive (not Oh, he hurt my feeling because he said I was working slow or something...I mean truly abusive) and I have used the Available on request in that box for that particular job many time and have been asked what the situation was before, but have never been treated like this was a strange way to handle the Reason for Leaving box.  I have also completley omitted this job for certain resumes.

My sincere condolances on the passing of your father.

Put about 20 resumes out on different MT job sites
Waited for someone to contact me and they did. It will happen eventually. You need to be specific with what you want and don't want. It's an everyday chore until you get the offer that best suits you.
