DocQScribe [2008-11-19]
I have a few specific questions about DocQScribe, but would also appreciate any additional info, good, bad, otherwise. (I have read past posts but found conflicting info and the posts were not that recent.)
1. Does the ShortHand Expander work on DocQScribe?
2. How easy is the platform to learn?
3. How easy is the platform to navigate around when you are in a report -- and are there a lot of steps to saving, sending, etc?
4. Can you look up prior patient reports?
5. Can you make your own templates?
6. How is the spellchecker?
7. Can a fast typist make good line counts?
8. Is the line count mechanism accurate?
Thanks in advance for this and any other info you can provide.
DocQscribe [2008-11-19]
I work for MQ and DocQScribe is one of the best things about MQ. I think it is very easy to use. I use ShortHand with it easily. You cannot really go back and look up out charts but that might be just with MQ. I have used a couple of other platforms and found it more user friendly than the other ones. I have found that most of the ADT information is automated, and I only have to read through it, which is par for the course with ADT information.
DocQScribe, SM [2008-11-19]
I have been using DocQScribe now for about four months and I love it. I think it is very fast, very efficient and very easy to learn. My ShortHand works fine with it, I can make my own templates, never have had any problems with it. And my line count increasedright away whenI started using it. I can look up past reports but you have to also have access to DocQRoute which some companies will allow and some will not. Just my experience.
I work for Keystrokes on DocQScribe and love it. sm [2008-11-19]
I find that my line count is accurate (I pulled a few reports out into word and counted that way). ShortHand works, or I would not be able to type, seriously. I type 1500 lines a day, most days, worst being 700 in the beginning and 2357 being the best. This is 8 hours. I have done more but worked longer than 8 hours those days.
The only thing I was faster on was WP5.1+ with PRD+ but maybe it was just that my fingers were younger :)
DocQscribe MedQ [2008-10-03]
Yes they use DocQScribe and as a matter of fact I have a question for anyone who uses this? I have unstalled and now having problems getting it to reinstall? Help anyone and thank you!

MedQuist? I may be wrong but I thought DocQScribe was owned by MedQuist, so I am wondering if companies who use the platform are working hand and hand with Medquist which could possibly lead to their buyout by the MQ giant too?

changing docQscribe word expander to auto-correct [2008-08-07]
I have been hired at a company that uses Word auto-correct. I havethousands of expansions in DocQScribe aco.user file. I have found the file in my computer and brought it up on notepad. Can you look up old reports with DocQScribe? [2008-08-05]
/
our un-MQ affiliated DocQscribe does [2008-08-04]
I work for a company using DocQScribe, but are in no way associated with MQ. We can very easily access old reports after QA and/or transmission to the hospital -- very helpful.
DocQscribe and Instant Text [2008-07-19]
I have been using DocQScribe and Instant Text and they work great together. Instant Text is compatible with most Word-based platforms, and it is the BEST Expander I have ever used.
DocQScribe [2008-07-19]
I was recently hired by DocQScribe but haven't started yet. Is this company a good company to work for?
Thanks for any advice

Is that the name of the company?

Any Precyse peoplecurrently using Instant Text Pro V on DocQScribe platform? Just wanted to know how well it works for you and if it is really compatible with DocQScribe.
Keystrokes and DocQScribe sm [2008-07-15]
Anyone out there working for Keystrokes on the DocQScribe platform and if so, how is it? Does it seem hard to get lines with this platform? I used it years ago, and the line count stunk on this platform.
No DSG does not use ASR at least not yet. Yes they use DocQScribe. nm [2008-06-10]

I don't know about DocQScribe... [2008-06-10]
in particular, but I can tell you that I have used two other types of software in on the same computer as Bayscribe in the past w/o problems. As long as one was closed while using the other I never had a conflict.
Keystrokes just got an account with DocQScribe that starts in a few weeks. sm [2008-06-05]
I am set to apply there as the company I work for lost it to them. My supervisor was upset because she really tried to fix it but her boss did not care. So I am going to try to follow the account to keystrokes.
Any companies that use DocQscribe hiring PT ICs? [2008-04-14]
The sound quality at DSG seems to get more awful each day.

To jlm and Others [2008-11-19]
I will be working on this platform for Keystrokes. Have you (or anyone else who could provide feedback) heard of transcriptionists working for companies other than MQ also having problems with DocQScribe? Could this just be specific to MQ?
I've already agreed to work on this platform, since I have limited options. While I do not want to hide my head in the sand, if others out there have had a more positive experience on this platform it would be nice to know, rather than going into the situation being scared of what's to come. Thanks.
specific answers .. [2008-11-19]
hi ..
1. Does the ShortHand Expander work on DocQScribe?
not sure .. pretty sure it does.
2. How easy is the platform to learn?
very ... just use keyboard commands instead of mouse
3. How easy is the platform to navigate around when you are in a report -- and are there a lot of steps to saving, sending, etc?
I find it easy and there are not a lot of steps ..
4. Can you look up prior patient reports?
no
5. Can you make your own templates?
You have to put them in the expander and it depends on company policy; they do not want cut and paste as it can affect formatting on client end
6. How is the spellchecker?
okay
7. Can a fast typist make good line counts?
yes .. friend does over 300
8. Is the line count mechanism accurate?
mine has been when I checked it
From my experience, it is a great system.
I too lost production but I started using it but that has been true for me with any windows-based program I have worked on ..
give me back my DOS and WP .. .that is when I used to make good money .. LOL
good luck to you .. you will be fine
PS - However, The speech recognition of MQ (ASR) is terrible unless you have really great dictators.

To: Good Luck - One more question [2008-11-19]
Could you please tell me how you go about checking whether your line count is accurate? I have never done this and usually accept whatever the platform line counter gives me. But since the person at MQ experienced line count reductions, I would like to verify my counts when I start out, to make sure DocQScribe is correct. I would appreciate knowing how you do this. Thank you again!

WP51 - the good old days [2008-10-24]
There is a lot of different discussions about transcription platforms. In the good old days, I used WP51 with Smartype. Nothing, I mean nothing, will ever be as fast. Those days are long gone. Technology is supposed to be a good thing, but it is funny how in this case all this new technology is actually more cumbersome when it comes to transcription and productivity. I miss the good old dinosaur days of WP51. Man, I could rack out the work! BUT, things being as they may, I have to make the best of it and work with what I have. I so far have found one of the best platforms to be Bayscribe. I hated DocQScribe - yuk! Just thought I would share.
Dictation Services Group [2008-10-24]
Does anyone have any information they are willing to share about this company. I noted they have an ad on MT Daily? Is DocQScribe easy to learn? I note their recruiter used to be with another company that I now work for which does not pay for those spaces and now am having a lot of server problems and have to wait for reports to go to server before I can start with another one, very very frustrating. Dictation Services Group pays for spaces, but are wanting MTs mostly for second shift. I work a split shift.
foot pedal.. [2008-10-22]
I have one that will not work with expresscribe at all...Luckily I have an older one that does...unless the job you are applying for can tell you how to use, I would watch for the format they use, or you will be buying another foot pedal to work...the one that does not work to test, works great on DocQScribe and Emdat, also Chartscript for sure.
foot pedals [2008-10-22]
foot pedal used w/ DocQScribe is not compatible w/ Express Scribe. I had to buy new foot pedal for use w/DocQScribe several years ago.
TRS [2008-10-06]
I do not work for TRS and have not worked for them but did interview with them about 3 weeks ago and they were extremely nice. Cannot say what the rate is but offered a Tuesday-Saturday schedule from 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. They have DocQScribe and probably other platforms and provide the equipment. You do have to take a test, practical and typing, on their site. Hope this helps ! At least a little bit of info is better than none !
DocQscribe MedQ [2008-10-03]
Yes they use DocQScribe and as a matter of fact I have a question for anyone who uses this? I have unstalled and now having problems getting it to reinstall? Help anyone and thank you!
thanks [2008-09-25]
Thanks for the input. I accepted a position with them, but she did not name DocQScribe as the plateform I would be using, she named another one that was created by the company. I hope its transcription friendly. TIA.
All-Type platform etc [2008-09-24]
They are using two different platforms, but the one they are hiring for is DocQScribe, which is the Medquist platform... this platform is in my opinion the best. They can help you if you have expansions to load them onto the platform so that you don't have to typethem all back in, too - I don't know if they can do it with every expansion program, but I know they can do it with Word Autocorrect. I have been with them for about 2 years, and pay has NEVER, ever been late. I am IC so I don't know about if they pay extra for holidays or not. You would have to ask a recruiter. QA usually leaves you alone once you pass the 100% review phase of your work, which if you are a good MT doesn't last long at all. They only contact you with corrections, etc., if there is something major or if you request to have a copy of a specific report. The QA team is really helpful though for answering questions. This is by far the best company I have ever worked for, but not everyone has the same experience with every company. I can't imagine what, but I am sure there is someone out there with something bad they can say about the company... it seems on these boards there is always someone who can say something bad about any company.. lol :)
pretty easy to maneuver [2008-09-18]
It comes with lots of symbols which can be disengaged because I think they are distracting. I mainly just use CTRLplus thearrow keys to maneuver through the report. If you have a good dictator, you are basically just reading the report. If you have abad one, there are more corrections to be made then. All in all,it is as easy to get through as the DocQScribe ASRI used to work on when I was with MQ.
Personally, I like voice because it gives my hands and arms a break. If you have good dictators, then you can make some money. I think this is true for those of us who are not real fast typists to begin with. I can see the problem with those who have mastered making abbreviations and who are fast typists. They are probably slowed down with voice, whereas I am able to make better lines with it, if given good dictators.
My best to you.
My Fellow MT's I need your help! [2008-09-16]
The small MTSO I work for is out of the Houston, Texasarea, also the account I am on is in that area. As you know several cities have been devastated from hurricane Ike. I have been out of work since late Thursday, and a little work is trickling in this morning and yesterday, but not nearly enough. Anyone know of a company hiring PT to supplement my income. I really need something I can pick up fast. I work on the ExText platform presently, but also have worked on DocQScribe, and Bayscribe, along with proprietary software and Word. I have 30+ years experience and love operative reports, but can do everything acute care/clinic, all work types and ESL. I am really in a financial bind right now with the possibility of losing my home.Need a position that pays bi-weekly, can't afford to wait 1 month before getting paid. Dont' have health insurance as I have a 90-day wait, which will be December 1 before I am insured. I need to try and get a temporary insurance as am diabetic and have hypertension, but cannot afford it. Did manage to enroll in Walgreens health program, and get my meds cheaper than what I paid when I was ensured. I have tried applying with some positions I had tried over the years, but turned down forvarious reasons, but think I've been black listed. I guess you can say I'm sort of desperate now though. Thanks you guys. .
I gave up too. I got another account with [2008-09-10]
Keystrokes which is a lot better, but not much work. I think I'll try the DocQScribe account again. Both of these accounts run out of work frequently, almost every day.
Are companies who use DocQscribe partnered with [2008-09-07]
MedQuist? I may be wrong but I thought DocQScribe was owned by MedQuist, so I am wondering if companies who use the platform are working hand and hand with Medquist which could possibly lead to their buyout by the MQ giant too?
Really? I am swamped today! sm [2008-09-05]
Do you only do one account? Because there area coupletoday in Span-Tel/TSPthat are swamped with work. Also, from what I hear, they are adding a large hospital next week to the DocQScribe platform, so if that is the platform you are on, I imagine it will pick up rather quickly. I guess it just depends which team you are on and which accounts you work on. If you are this low on work, could you ask for more or to be trained on the other accounts? I think the work is there, and if you really want it, you should ask for it.
As an aside, I think it has likely been slow the last couple weeks with a lot of companies - it usually is around Labor Day but then picks back up through the holidays - at least in my experience anyway.
Consistent work [2008-08-21]
I know there are a lot of negative posts on here about MQ, but it is the only company I have worked for that I did not have to worry about being out of work. Some call it the *cesspool*, I call it a safety net if my primariesever getlow on work, and I don't have to wastemy valuabletime calling someone to ask for work because it is automatic if primaries are low. They also pay on time everytimeand have been very flexible with my schedule, I prefer a split shift. Pay could be better, but more than some other places, andalways having work available is the most important for me as being out of work would devastate me financially. As a matter of fact, it was the guarantee of always having work that made meswitch tothem as the national I waswith previous was running out of work on my primaries too oftenand I had to spend too much time begging for other work. I am very happy at MQ after experiencing working for some other nationals, TT and KS specifically were fairly consistent about being out of work in my experience. I alsoreally likethe DocQScribe platform at MQ and the fact that they supply all the equipment; I no longer have to worry about what would happen if somehting went wrong with my personal computer and I could not work or afford to get it fixed or replace it.I have never had a problem with communication, my PS is great at getting back to me promptly.
The people complaining about the *cesspool* at MQ on here are the same ones who will complain about being out of work whenin actuality work is available, they just refuse to do unfamiliar accounts, thus affecting their own paycheck, never happy. Personally, Idon't have enough extra money to be that picky aboutwork and I am relieved to find a company who can consistently supply me with work. Good luck in whatever you decide and I hope you find the right fit!
testing with them [2008-08-17]
I'm testing with them now and I think that she said DocQScribe. I'm not familiar with it unfortunately.

Does Keystrokes use Docuscribe? How are they to work for? [2008-08-06]
I am tired of geting burned by some of the companies that advertise here. I want a job that has a lot of work, does not outsource and have good accounts.
My resume is looking worse and worse because I appear to be job hopping. I want to find a good company where Isettle in, work hard and retire in 7 or 8 years.
I worked for MQ for 11 years and loved DocQScribe. I just saw an ad from Keystrokes that they use it and want to know if they are as good as they seem to work for.
This is so confusing. Most of the companies either run out of work, send work to India or conveniently forget to pay for work done. Help! I need a good company!
