I believe it depends on what platform u work on. I work on [2008-11-20]
Extext and I love it!!!!! I have not transcribed even part time in years. First night in less than 2 hours hit 300+ lines. Second night a little over 2 hours hit 350+ lines. This is all learning a new system so I find it interesting and fun.

Is the MDI platform compatible with Vista? nm [2008-11-20]

What platform do you work on? [2008-11-18]
I really love ExText and I know they do have accounts on that platform. I did apply and got to the interview stage but then decided to back out because of the bad remarks on this site. I certainly hope I won't be sorry. How is their cpl rate compared to others? Thanks.

You do not know which platform SM [2008-11-10]
or accounts I work on, just as I do not know which you are working on. I am giving her my experience, nothing more and nothing less.

To what platform are you referring? [2008-11-07]
I have this problem with Dictaphone Ex text.

Webchart. Any use this platform [2008-11-06]
Hils uses it and I was just wondering if it is a good platform? Thanks

Platform [2008-10-29]
I heard from a friend their platform was not MT friendly, but can't remember what she said insofar as the account itself. She didn't stay there long at all before giving up and going elsewhere.

Lee Perfect and EMDAT platform [2008-10-24]
Considering this company. Anybody with any recent personal experience with the company and the EMDAT platform. I started the on-line training for EMDAT. Not sure what to make of it. Is it hard to make lines? Any info would be great! Thanks.

2003 does not work with their platform [2008-10-20]
Only 2000 and 2002.

Does anyone know what platform NEMT uses? Thanks. [2008-10-16]
xx

right but which platform are you on? [2008-10-08]
beyondtxt or escription?? Escription has sucked for work nearly a month now.

if they ever update their platform - sm [2008-10-08]
to include Office/Word 2007, then I'd love to get on with them. My mother-in-law worked for them briefly and really enjoyed it. The only reason she stopped was because of health issues.

Platform called Webchart [2008-10-07]
Anyone know much about the platformWebchart? I know it is internet based with a USB type wavepedal...is it friendly? Is it like Winscribe and transnet with dictaphone? Please let meknow...

EMDAT platform [2008-10-02]
Can someone tell me about this platform? How it works? Is it user friendly? Sound quality? Anything you can share would be good. I have an offer to work on this platform and need to know more about it before accepting. TIA

What is the DSG1 platform do you known. I thought it was DSG 2 that everyone complained about. [2008-09-25]

All-Type platform etc [2008-09-24]
They are using two different platforms, but the one they are hiring for is DocQScribe, which is the Medquist platform... this platform is in my opinion the best. They can help you if you have expansions to load them onto the platform so that you don't have to typethem all back in, too - I don't know if they can do it with every expansion program, but I know they can do it with Word Autocorrect. I have been with them for about 2 years, and pay has NEVER, ever been late. I am IC so I don't know about if they pay extra for holidays or not. You would have to ask a recruiter. QA usually leaves you alone once you pass the 100% review phase of your work, which if you are a good MT doesn't last long at all. They only contact you with corrections, etc., if there is something major or if you request to have a copy of a specific report. The QA team is really helpful though for answering questions. This is by far the best company I have ever worked for, but not everyone has the same experience with every company. I can't imagine what, but I am sure there is someone out there with something bad they can say about the company... it seems on these boards there is always someone who can say something bad about any company.. lol :)

What platform does First Choice use? [2008-09-22]

New platform and new work [2008-09-21]
The new software is just awesome and I hear we have a large hospital starting next week. Give them a call if you are looking for work. I can not help you with the other two you mentioned but can wish you good luck with your search. L.

Don't worry about the new platform. It isn't bad, at least not [2008-09-17]

The platform depends on the account. There are several. [2008-09-12]

eTransplus radiology platform? [2008-09-12]
Anyone have any information on this? TIA

OSI..ExText platform ..nm [2008-09-09]

I am using escription platform. [2008-09-09]
When they installed that, they also installed Shorthand. I never use it, I don't know how to use it. I use my own Instant Text. Anyway, I have been here 1 month and so far so good.I use MS Word and a Stedman's Medical Spellcheck I purchased myself a year ago.

Their platform decreases your line count tremendously! [2008-09-08]

What platform is used for.... [2008-09-07]
the ortho account(s)???? Thanks.

Unless it is going away tomorrow, sm [2008-11-20]
I answered the question as it was asked. You also did not mention that the platform will be a hybrid of the 2 and not simply Chartmatrix is going away.

Phoenix [2008-11-20]
I got Express Scribe to work for their testing and also their work by tweaking some of the settings. I worked for Phoenix for a few months. I had no complaints other than the fact I hated the Emdat platform, I just couldn't get my speed up. I did love doing all the OPs, and they leave you alone to do the work. The main reason I left was just because of not liking Emdat, but others don'd mind it.

DocQScribe [2008-11-19]
I have a few specific questions about DocQScribe, but would also appreciate any additional info, good, bad, otherwise. (I have read past posts but found conflicting info and the posts were not that recent.) 1. Does the ShortHand Expander work on DocQScribe? 2. How easy is the platform to learn? 3. How easy is the platform to navigate around when you are in a report -- and are there a lot of steps to saving, sending, etc? 4. Can you look up prior patient reports? 5. Can you make your own templates? 6. How is the spellchecker? 7. Can a fast typist make good line counts? 8. Is the line count mechanism accurate? Thanks in advance for this and any other info you can provide.

To jlm and Others [2008-11-19]
I will be working on this platform for Keystrokes. Have you (or anyone else who could provide feedback) heard of transcriptionists working for companies other than MQ also having problems with DocQScribe? Could this just be specific to MQ? I've already agreed to work on this platform, since I have limited options. While I do not want to hide my head in the sand, if others out there have had a more positive experience on this platform it would be nice to know, rather than going into the situation being scared of what's to come. Thanks.

specific answers .. [2008-11-19]
hi .. 1. Does the ShortHand Expander work on DocQScribe? not sure .. pretty sure it does. 2. How easy is the platform to learn? very ... just use keyboard commands instead of mouse 3. How easy is the platform to navigate around when you are in a report -- and are there a lot of steps to saving, sending, etc? I find it easy and there are not a lot of steps .. 4. Can you look up prior patient reports? no 5. Can you make your own templates? You have to put them in the expander and it depends on company policy; they do not want cut and paste as it can affect formatting on client end 6. How is the spellchecker? okay 7. Can a fast typist make good line counts? yes .. friend does over 300 8. Is the line count mechanism accurate? mine has been when I checked it From my experience, it is a great system. I too lost production but I started using it but that has been true for me with any windows-based program I have worked on .. give me back my DOS and WP .. .that is when I used to make good money .. LOL good luck to you .. you will be fine PS - However, The speech recognition of MQ (ASR) is terrible unless you have really great dictators.

I have 4 accounts, doing all work types, and I usually have enough work but this is the slow time of [2008-11-19]
year so we are scrambling a little for lines. Easy platform, paychecks DD, always on time.

To: Good Luck - One more question [2008-11-19]
Could you please tell me how you go about checking whether your line count is accurate? I have never done this and usually accept whatever the platform line counter gives me. But since the person at MQ experienced line count reductions, I would like to verify my counts when I start out, to make sure DocQScribe is correct. I would appreciate knowing how you do this. Thank you again!

I work for another company, [2008-11-19]
not MQ, and I absolutely despise this platform. My line counts went way down, rebounded a bit but never got up to what I can do on other platforms. I have worked on 3 other platforms and this is absolutely the worst.

To Tired in Ohio [2008-11-19]
Do you know what it is about the platform that is causing your counts to go down? Is it the way it counts lines or other things. Would appreciate if you could elaborate a bit. Thank you.

MDI-MD [2008-11-19]
I've been there just a few short months, but I accepted the position with MDI over several other offers because, quite frankly, I could sense from my communications with my recruiter (Carlotta) that this is the type of company that values and respects their employees. I'm delighted to report my instincts were correct. Great training, simple platform, great communication, ensure you have all the work you desire, and ALWAYS friendly yet professional. As for those emails about being backed up on days off...well, I might be the forum weirdo, but I appreciate those emails. I look on them as an invitation to dive in and pick up some extra money if I wish to do so. IMO, if you're looking to be valued, respected, and paid decently (and reliably), MDI-MD is the best gig in town.

MedGarde [2008-11-18]
I have worked for MedGarde as a QA since April and I am very happy with them. I find their platform easy to use.

Exactly, but [2008-11-18]
I know the Dictaphone platform and already have the foot pedal and adaptor. However, there is some reason why they cannot or will not allow me to work on both platforms. They would rather I starve or find more work elsewhere, while they hire new employees. Go figure!!

Employee, but [2008-11-18]
I've never heard of being paid for downtime, unless they are just referring to when their platform goes down. If something happens to your computer, or if they decide to upgrade to some software that won't run on your computer, you sure don't get paid. Also, they allow 10 days of vacation per year, but they are not paid. On holidays, if you are scheduled to work, you must work, even if it means sitting at your computer watching the queue just in case some jobs might show up. Of course, you don't get paid for your time, though I've never heard of anyone really getting into trouble for refusing to sit and stare at a blank screen for free.

What platform do you work on? [2008-11-18]
I really love ExText and I know they do have accounts on that platform. I did apply and got to the interview stage but then decided to back out because of the bad remarks on this site. I certainly hope I won't be sorry. How is their cpl rate compared to others? Thanks.

Dictation Services Group [2008-11-18]
If there any information about this company that anyone would want to share that actually works for them. Is there enough work to make a decent paycheckoryou guys that work for them sit and wait on work a lot? Their platform which I hear is not hard to learn. Thanks ahead of time.

Lee Perfect/Inscribe Emdat system [2008-11-17]
I was recently hired by Lee Perfect Transcription who utilizes the Inscribe Emdat platform. I am having a very difficult time trying to get used to working the foot pedal. When I am transcribing and I lift my foot off the pedal the dictation does not stop, just keeps going. I have to almost stomp on it to get it to stop. Is this just my foot pedal, or is there another way to get it to stop just when you lift your foot up and it automatically stops like on other platforms. I sure would appreciate any help regarding this. Thanks so much.

eTrans [2008-11-16]
I have been at eTransPlus for several months working on the ExText platform. So far so good except for the QA person assigned who I find ill-prepared, unclear, defensive, and has no interest in carrying on a 2-way conversation. Get past her and everything else seems to be fine ...so far. I have learned, however, that these companies are often not what they appear at the beginning so I hesitate to give a rave review with my 4 months of experience. Can't speak to other platforms. This one is wonderfully easy.

There is a new, larger account coming on in Dec. (sm) [2008-11-16]
I would imagine they are hiring in anticipation of that. Work flows vary anywhere, but these people go out of their way to try and keep us all in work on a steady basis. Benefits good, you are treated well by management, pay on time, accounts pretty good, platform is such that you can actually make money. Ups and downs are the name of the game, but I would highly suggest you at least talk to them. Hiring on with them was one of the best things I ever did for myself. I will ride the waves of feast and famine gladly with this company.

Anyone know anything about DTS America? I never see any posts sm [2008-11-15]
about them, but maybe that is a good thing, meaning it is a good company with nothing to complain about. Any kind of info would be appreciated, such as platform, decent pay (and on time), benefits, etc.

Lee Perfect Transcription [2008-11-15]
Anyone who works there, could you please share how you like it. Pros and cons, please. Also, are you able to make a good line count on their Emdat platform. Thank you for your help.

3 words, rude, rude, rude....sm [2008-11-15]
the owner sends out UGLY and NASTY emails to the MTs. The communication is just a disorganized mess and they hire you as an IC, but pretty much treats you like an employee. Emdat sucks and pretty much the accounts are not that great. VERY hard to get your lines in Emdat platform. They LOVE to FIRE....when in actuality.....(that is the term they use)...you cannot FIRE an IC, you can lock them out of the system and I guess that is firing, but those two words have always been a pet peeve of mine....hearing when MTs are fired as ICs....Just my opinion ******* DISCLAIMER *****************Postings of this nature are the poster's personal opinion should not be considered as substantiated by MTStars. Diskriter hem/onc account [2008-11-14]
Anyone who works for Diskriter on this account, would you please post what platform is used for this account and if you like the account or not. Also, are there a great deal of ESLs? Anything else you would like to share would be appreciated. How do you like working for Diskriter?Thank you so much for your input.

Hmm, maybe sign of the times [2008-11-13]
I received it as well. Probably pretty scary to the MTs who currently work for them. If I knew of an account that needed a Transcriptionist without a middle man, that would be me in a heartbeat. I'm a 25+-year veteran displaced MT due to VR and I need a j-o-b!! It's so hard to find anything good right now. I was offered a job editing work from India. Okay... NO. Outsourcing and VR are what put me in this position. I just want a job with work and a fast platform. I'll even take less than 9 cents a line if the platform is right. No page of demographics to fill in. No listening to crappy voice files over and over again only to figure out the word is impression. If anyone out there knows of anything, hook a sister up. :)

Not much written because they're a - sm [2008-11-11]
mostly nice bunch of people. The pay is ALWAYS on time. They use a platform called Word Script. It works pretty well; I have no major complaints about it. Acusis actually started with only India-based workers (but main office is in Pennsylvania). Then they bought DRC, a CA-based MT company, in order to have US-based workers too. Techs and supervisors seem pretty approachable, plus they have lots of online and teleconferences, bulletins, etc. They pay by the line. Also, they have good accounts (at least I think mine is good!) They have very high quality standards, which is probably why they have high quality accounts.

Does anyone know about the position advertised with Axolotl? sm [2008-11-11]
I got an email which said something like it was heavy ESL.  I have heard good things about the company in the past, so I was considering it, but it depends upon the type of ESL.  I seem to have the most trouble with ***Asians***, for some reason. And of course if they talk at the speed of light, I have trouble with any dictator. I would appreciate any info anyone has -- what type of platform, decent pay, etc.   Thanks.
