I get feedback and management is [2008-08-09]
only human.. If I haven't heard back via email and need an answer, I call them. I've found them to be very friendly and willing to help. Regarding ESL, seems to be no more than any other company I've ever worked for. Sorry to hear about your experience with them, yet glad my experience with them has been good.
I believe that is something you need to address with management [2008-08-08]
I don't think anyone but management can answer your question. I know that they are very understanding in most personal situations as they have worked with me in the past but I never resigned, either. It might depend on whether you gave a 2-week notice and how your overall record was with them at the time as well.
Good Luck!!
Just read the posts on this board from SS Management [2008-08-07]
It's obvious NOTHING HAS CHANGED AT ALL! Rude, stupid people running this company. That's why they have such a high turnover. They can't keep anyone! Hello! I mean, look, this is a good example of how dense the mgt of SS is: They post awful, rude, childish CRAP on this board and then try to tell you, oh, things have changed, it's not like that anymore. Yeah, right...
Management? Uh, suuuure. [2008-08-06]
There hasn't BEEN a management opening in years, but nice try. Thanks for playing!
Yep, all quiet on the SS Management Front here... [2008-08-06]
They can't refute the truth about the company, can they?
'cricket noises' ... all quiet from JR...
AVOID THIS COMPANY. THE END.

THANK YOU for filling us in - Wish management would have (sm) [2008-06-05]

OSi employee, not management [2008-06-04]
I have worked for OSi for 2-1/2 years. I have steady work 99%of the time. There is flexibility in the schedule. The pay is always on time, if not early by a day. Communication is good and feedback is good. Benefits are very competitive. The expectations are very clear, and there are no surprises.I suggest you contact OSi for any specific details.
Anybody ever hear of a company called Specialized Information Management? [2008-05-20]
Do they hire at home ICs?
J and J Management ?? [2008-05-16]
Anyone work for this company? Did not find them in the archives. Any info on platform, owners, pay, etc would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
Well at least now we know you are management..... [2008-05-11]
and probably aren't always quite up front with information here. I happen to know that they do outsource from time to time - and no, I'm not management, just a regular MT.
How could TTMax be management? [2008-05-11]
She has said she does ops all of the time with cardiology, and I don't think management would limelight themselves like that. Seems like TTMax just really likes the company and sticks up for it. TT management is a bit shadier, and would probably not be obvious as TTmax is. That is IMHO.
I am not management sm [2008-05-11]
I am sure that those in management who read this board, know exactly who I am. I am not ashamed of what I say here. There are certain things I would not say and have not said here, like what account I work on or who my supervisor and lead MTs are. I don't discuss our working relationship either. If there were a problem I would understand that half the problem is me because I am half the equation.
I know that some members of management at TT read this board from time to time. As I am sure they know who I am, they already know I don't say things I don't mean, my nose is not brown, I am not after being in management, and that I am honest and hard working, so I have nothing to worry about. There are ways to find out who some of you rumor spreaders are and I would not want to be YOU.

You cannot be serious. MQ is horrible. See MQ board. You must be management. [2008-03-29]
Only management would even be able to type such an answer.
Silent Type [2008-08-20]
Very little communication, and cryptic when it is received. Pays by the page. Have to go to NJ for training at your expense, and will reimburse up to $500 after 6 months, assuming you're still there. Training could easily be done in 2 hours on a phone call remotely, so not sure why you have to go there, other than to have you chained to them for 6 months in order to get your $$ back for travel there. Word-based, very basic platform with no whistles or bells, and very little documentation on client specs. Most of the things you learn are on your own by the seat of your pants. It's a my way or the highway type management style, and when you leave, you won't get paid for any PTO or vacation time you have accrued....if you're still interested after all the above, then my prayers are with you. ;)
Read MTIA's statement on SM [2008-08-19]
credentialing.
Position
MTIA believes healthcare documentation workers (i.e., medical transcriptionists,
transcription editors, speech recognition editors, and quality assurance
coordinators) play a critical, interpretive role in accurately and securely capturing
patient care encounter information – information upon which further care decisions
are made, reimbursement processes are determined, and risk management
programs are dependent. For that reason, MTIA strongly supports the
development of a credentialed workforce, whose entry-to-practice and level II
benchmark skills can help transcription service organizations (a) deliver highquality
data capture and documentation to end-user clients and providers, (b)
embrace a service value proposition based on quality, and (c) educate end-user
clients about the need for a skilled, interpretive knowledge worker in the evolving
clinical documentation domain, particularly in the face of growing documentation
complexity and emerging technologies that might suggest human judgment is not
required for accurate health data capture and documentation.
No idea what I am talking [2008-08-16]

MIT, IIT, IIM are not places where they teach English or transcription, but high-class IT, engineering and management institutions. First make sure what you are talking about before pasing your comments

Info about Wordz from this summer. [2008-08-16]
Wordz was not the job for me, but I have nothing bad at all to say about them. Here is some recent info from this summer, hope it helps:
Pay on time by DD.
I worked on 2 platforms. (Winscribe and Transnet) Both use your version of Word and your Expander of choice or autocorrect. The platforms were just for management of voice files and attaching/uploading documents, no demographics were filled in.
All demographics were manual, and you download pt lists (some in notepad where you can copy and paste names and some fax copies where you have to retype everything).
Provider/address lists were provided for letters.
Job lists come out 4x per day. On at least one platform you have to check the job list for your work and manually enter the dictator# into the transnet platform to download jobs (you are not routed jobs automatically on the Transnet platform).
Pd training. You get about 4+ hours of phone training your first day, 3 modules. The longest module of training is administrative, paperwork, file management that you are expected to do and the other modules are on the transcribing and audio platforms. The administrative/paperwork/file management is the longest for a good reason, you spend plenty of time wrangling voice files, job lists, and pt lists every day.
QA was outstanding and very helpful. Quick relevant feedback and even a good job here and there.
There are set hours - sort of! They do ask that you set range of hours they can count on you to be there every day (maybe 8:00 to 3:00 for example) in case they need to reach you for stats or whatever, but you do not have to necessarily be working all that time, and you are not monitored. You are just expected to complete your account assignments within TAT.
Pay is low (it was 7.5 cents), but they justify that by the fact that they match transcriptionists to doctors....no pools. (That did not turn out to be the case for me, I was up to 20 dictators with more to be added on, although I know many are assigned to a small # of stable dictators...just get as much specific info during your interviews about exactly what accounts you would be on and how many providers so you can make an informed decision.)
Good luck!
Some thoughts [2008-08-16]
Is this top person you are dealing with the owner or just management. If it is not the owner, go over the person's head (to the owner if necessary) and discuss what is happening. Maybe that person would put a stop to it.
Have you spoken with other top employees to see if this is happening to anyone else? It seems odd that the company's pay/benefit program is such that it is not worth it to them to have top producers. You would think that is what they would want!
If there is BS going on, maybe you can find some proof if you fish around a little bit and have some sort of legal recourse.
Good luck and let us know what happens. I wouldn't just walk away yet. Maybe this can still be corrected.
Death of Spyance [2008-08-15]
This is about slow AIDS like death of medical transcription company that is Spryance. This is what happened when people who do not know abcd of medical transcription run the show in such company. Lot of so called egofull big names like Raju Shete Dulip Deshmukh and most of all a mediocre clerk made to VP called Ajit mharte. This is example for others in medical trans industry. If you dont know medical transcription get out of this industry and do not spoil this industry and career of poor medical transcriptionist. And also chamchas of these people should warn themself. All now fallen and kicked out by Heartland management. all playing maharashtrian politicis in company and favoriting only Maharashtrians and not looking after company interest. Notorious is their pune branch with all chamchas. they tried to make QA out of second grade ayurvedic homeopathic doctors with sorry failure and lose many clients for spryance. now heard that heartland wil close their office also very soon. Sorry state of affair.
Transolutions [2008-08-15]
Transolutions (corporate headquarters in Atlanta, GA) makes no secret of its offshoring to India...in fact, about 2 months ago, there was a page-long story in the Atlanta Journal Constitution uplifting the company for its aggressive maneuvers, in which its management provided exact statistics as to number of USA MTs and Indian MTs, percentages of work being produced in each location, etc., and, as I recall, theirvision for the future.I can't recall many specific details of the article because Transolutions is not my employer, but I will find and post the exact link if requested.
Worried - Keystrokes [2008-08-14]
Just got hired by Keystrokes. There is so much good and bad about every company but it seems a lot of discrepancy between people who work/worked for Keystrokes who say they get paid OT and those who don't, people saying there's lots of work and someone who just said they ran out of work after two days. I was told that I will be put on a large teaching hospital, and find it hard to believe they would run out of work. Would really like to know the reality of the situation. I do not want to make a mistake in taking this job but have concerns given all the conflicting information and do not know what to believe anymore. I currently work for a company where I make very good money (even though I have to work harder because management assigns me the difficult jobs given my speed and experience), but recently management has become even more intolerable, and I'm looking to switch. I just do not want to get into a worse situation. Any feedback would be appreciated.
they will remain 2 separate entities [2008-08-12]
cbay and MQ. As far as buying them out, Cbay has bought 70% shares from Phillips Electronics who originally had the interest of stocks. Cbay was only able to do this through 2 huge financial corporations one located in UK and the other in the US. we will remain under the financial guidance of cbay holdings who is currently going through changes in management.
I have steady work and see my primary work steadily throughout the day with 2 other accounts. The pay could be better since they reduced the rate when doing ASR work but it is still higher than other companies pay for ASR. You have to speak up for yourself when you feel you deserve a raise. They won't come to you so make sure you go to them when you feel its time. I try to stay positive and throughout the major changes which started about 2 years ago I have remained here when I thought I would not last and there were always people doubting they would not last. I even went to work for another company and decided to go back to MQ. Maybe it was not the right fit but it takes time finding the right one and I still might explore other opportunities but I have gained so much experience here as far as medical transcription is concerned.
Hope this helps a lot. good luck to you.
Not recent, but I can say ... [2008-08-11]
Of all the companies I've worked for, they were by far and away my favorite. Easy platform, great dictators, (mostly) fantastic management. But, it's been over 4 years since I've worked for them.
I had been with them for a couple of years, had my set dictators, and they hired a new manager for my account who completely ripped everyone up and around and didn't communicate at all what she was doing or why. Long story short, there was a pretty big fall out with that account and several of us left. A month or two later, I heard she was fired.
I think about going back to them sometimes, honestly. And I would in a heartbeat, if they were like the old T-C I worked for back in the day. Can't say if they are or not, but historically they were a great company to work for.
Good luck!
I believe that is something you need to address with management [2008-08-08]
I don't think anyone but management can answer your question. I know that they are very understanding in most personal situations as they have worked with me in the past but I never resigned, either. DSG [2008-08-08]
sound quality poor - lots of ESL. Work is up and down depending on accounts. Feedback is poor to none even after numerous emails. Management seems too busy to answer emails. Just my experience.
Uh huh, you don't overreact, but I should take my meds, I'm full of rage, and [2008-08-08]
my mom had to tie pork chops to the dogs ears to play with me. All because I posted that people should quit whining and suck it up and do their jobs.
NAH you don't overreact at all!
And for the last time, I am not the origional poster who threatened legal action. I have no association with SS whatsoever, as an MT or as management. I have NEVER worked for SS. I just jumped in because there was way too much crying about rude people. Give me rude,straight-forward/blunt people over a bunch whiners any day!
Regarding Keystrokes, a little long...sm [2008-08-08]
First and foremost, I am NOT in management with Keystrokes. I am simply a MT who was recently hired. Because I am not a well person and suffer from a painful medical condition and other underlying conditions, I was unable to start working my assigned schedule. I explained this to my supervisors. I just knew that because I had such the awful flare of this autoimmune disorder, they would not be able to hold this position for me. Well, I explained everything to my supervisors, account managers, etc....and guess what.....I still have my job, it may not be as a full time employee, but they understood and still giving me a chance and offered me options of working.
I had read for so long some of the negative thihgs about this company and the people, I will admit, those posts made me veer away from applying with them. Some companies will NOT even take on an MT who suffers from a condition such as mine.
I admit, I did have bad experiences in the past with a few companies, but I would never really post about them, I would just take it as a lesson learned.
I know that a lot of us have had these bad experiences, but not all companies are the same. This place is working with me, they are giving me time to recuperate and get better and my job is still there for me. From the people I have been dealing with, they were nothing but nice to me, even the owner.
I just felt I had to post this. Of course, not everyone will agree with me about the company, but I don't expect that. I just felt I needed to post this to let people know that many things you read, do not always hold the full truth.
Thanks for reading...(scuse the typos)
Pffffehhhhhhhh........... [2008-08-07]
The least-professional thing about the MT-biz is its management. And I repeat:
Pffffehhhhhhhh...............
According to another poster, J passed away LAST YEAR [2008-08-07]
And that certainly sound like RD on this board. And the tone of the posts by SS Management has not changed AT ALL. So, you get with the times and stop trying to dupe people into joining this awful, and I do mean AWFUL company.
You didn't answer the other charges, did you? $165 for a footpedal because only SS footpedal works with the software? What about the supposed qualifications of the office staff? RD, the hairdresser/HR person, now probably running this company because that sure sounds like her style on this board. And that's the sad thing...this is what you can expect if you choose to go to work for SS.
I agree! I just can't imagine a company speaking such negativity! I just can't imagine that. [2008-08-07]
Surely this is not a manager or anyone big time important at SS. I just thought maybe it is a mad MT or something. I have never seen such postings from a manager. I was just curious. I think it is very unprofessional if this is management.
Hmmm, I'm curious... [2008-08-07]
you keep saying a manager posted unprofessional posts. I must have missed them. I read a post where SOMEONE claiming to be a manager (using a made up nom DE plume) had issues with a confidential email and threatened, what I thought, was legitamite legal action. Please, anybody, explain the unprofessionalism in that or any subsequent posts? While you're at is, explain to me WHY you would actually BELIEVE it is management of ANY company? For the record, my real name is NOT nm, but there are SO MANY nm, me's, me2, etc. why one Earth would you believe ANYTHING posted on the internet. By the way, Oregon just got hit with a 7.8 earthquake- lots of damage and lots of injuries. I'm trying to get more details for y'all...
I never overreact. I thoughtfully consider all sides. However, [2008-08-07]
the tone of your continued arrogant, hostile, and rage-filled posts only points out that you are the OP masquerading as management in a fury about an email sent out which by no means can be construed as breeching any matter of confidentiality. Your threats were laughable as witnessed by the counterposts.
You would do us all a favor now if you would go take your medication. Dosages should never be skipped. You should know that if you are an MT.
I don't know. Still trying to figure you out. You seem to be so ugly and hateful. I bet your mama had to tie pork chops to your ears so the dog would play with you.
Verifying line counts [2008-08-06]
I keep hearing people say that this platform or another seems to steal lines from them and I wonder, is there anyone out there who can actually verify their line counts. Even ifthe program counts the lines, can't you find out the parameters they use to count and then use abacus or some such to find out if it is at least close? I worked for a company years ago that put their line counting software on my computer with the install. It was a read only file, so the MT couldn't change it, but I could see what was being paid and what wasn't and they couldn't change it without me knowing about it. This company eventually switched to counting the lines themselves and I never did get any parameters out of them but in dealing with the owner personally for many years, she was pretty much a straight shooter so I stayed until she wasn't the running things anymore. Once new management came in and shook everything up, I was out of there. I don't think I trust anyone enough to count my lines for me. When you get a paycheck that seems a little light, don't you ever wonder if maybe this payperiod they decided, Let's not pay for commas this week, and they can change it without you having any idea? I'm getting back into the market now and would appreciate hearing other people's thoughts and experiences in this matter.
Do we really have to go through all this again?!?!?! [2008-08-06]
Yes, they were bought out by Nuance in 2007. HOWEVER, the same Indian gentleman who owned Focus and sold Focus, still RUNS focus. 80% of employees at Focus Infomatics are Indian. They just laid off a bunch of American QA people back in May and then laid off some of their American management too.
I think she did say she worked [2008-08-06]
Even doctors and the management staff for sure take days off, rotate call, weekends, etc. I realize, and I think she does, too, that there are always people who are sick in the hospital and need the reports done. I don't think it's so difficult to set up rotating weekends if you care about your MTs having a life at all with their families, in addition to getting the work done. I've worked in a hospital setting in another career, have seen the burn-out with back-to-back shifts, nonstop overtime, etc., quality of care goes right out the window, and if you're a patient in a hospital run like that, better have a family who's in the know about your medical issues and needs cuz you need to be on your toes. Just my 2 cents...
Absolutely not true. I was offered a position in [2008-08-06]
management so to say I couldn't hack it is bull. I just couldn't deal with the BS.
They offshore. They lie. They have enormous turnover. [2008-08-06]
Mainly because people don't heed the warnings and work for them anyway and then end up quitting right away because the warnings were right.
They employ somewhere around 900 American MTs and around 3800 Indian MTs. They had a big shake up back in may and fired a bunch of QA peopleand some management people as well. My facts are straight as I got it straight from the horses' mouths.
major transition [2008-08-06]
I just stopped working for them a couple of months ago and there is a lot going on. It is true that a lot of American QAs lost their jobs, but now the Indian team leads are losing their jobs and they are bringing in all American tead leads and management. I do not believe they are headed for bankruptcy, but just going through a major transition.
