SoftScript's Software versus Meditech [2008-11-10]
I have heard of possibly usingSoftScript's platform/software/interface for Meditech. What can anyone tell me about this interface?
Right now we type in Meditech for each individual report before we type it. It takes FOREVER! Then we have to file the report electronically when we finish typing it. It is a very slow process.
I wanted to know if this interface I am hearing about for Meditech from SoftScript is anything like straight typing or is it a lot of inputting information?
Has anyone typed in Meditech before and now works for SoftScript or used to work for them who can give me an opinionas to how much quicker it might be?
Any relative information would be helpful!
MediTech delay [2008-09-19]
Asked the IT person at my MTSO why the Meditech lag/delay and got the same it's at your end answer as your hospital gave. (Actually, after first passing the buck and instructing me to ask my ''Team Lead''.) Apparently MTSOs are not the only ones who employ liars who will create confusion and say just about anything rather than admit they don't know. What the hay!--It's not their paycheck that's affected, so who cares!
MediTech system.. [2008-09-17]
I've seen old posts on the negatives about this program. Has this system gotten better? TIA
Meditech [2008-09-17]
I just got through using it for a hospital that I work PT for. I do not like it period. To me it is not MT friendly at all. I have been offered a job FT using it but I have used it for 4 years just for extra money. I am not sure if I want to use it FT though but I do not like the place that I work for now FT, so PT boss offered me a FT position with him. I use the Internet to do work and I do not have any othe programs open. I can type faster than it is put on the screen which drives me crazy. There are 3 of that use high speed from home and we all have the same problems. We all use Comcast. When asked the hospital why it is so slow they say it is on our end. Wish they would change but not likely. I wish it was word or something else.
I know of Meditech, DocuScribe, TA+ and ExText for HIM and sm [2008-09-11]
Radnet, Meditech, HBO Star and Misis for radiology.
All of those are compatible with Shorthand.
SoftScript's Meditech Interface [2008-08-06]
I would love for you to find out for me. Thanks!
I work for SS but not on Meditech. I will see what I can find out for you. nm [2008-08-01]

SoftScript's Meditech Interface [2008-07-31]
I am employed by a company thinking about going to SoftScript and using their interface for Meditech. What can anyone tell me about this interface?
Right now we are having to input information into Meditech for each individual report before we type it. It takes FOREVER! Then we have to file the report electronically when we finish typing it. I have lost so much money since going to meditech.
We used to type straight in EXText using Dictaphone, and the computer put in all that information with us just double checking everything. I wish we could go back but am told it is not going to happen.
I wanted to know if this interface I am hearing about for Meditech from SoftScript is anything like typing in EXText with Dictaphone? Just thinking aboutour futures...Any relative information would be helpful!
Meditech's good for me [2008-07-26]
The only time I ever made any real money as an MT (other than working inhouse) was when I was using Meditech. I would love to have an account that used it now.
Meditech [2008-07-26]
works great - lot more productive than ChartMatrix!!!!!!!!
Had a company contact me that uses Meditech for RAD. [2008-07-25]
It's been a heck of a long time since I used Meditech, and it was the old DOS version. Anyone making money using it?
It was Meditech [2008-07-23]

There are multiple platforms for rad including Radnet, Meditech, HBO Star, MiSys. Sm [2008-07-05]
I am on a MiSys account. I have a few friends on RadNet and ExText accounts. All radiology. I think it is the same for Medical Records too.
Meditech anyone? [2008-07-04]
I am looking for a company that uses Meditech. I very much prefer this particular platform. Would appreciate any info you might be able to offer. Thanks.
Meditech [2008-05-19]
Most of our Meditech clients have recently upgraded. It however depends on what account you are being considered for. I'm not sure we have any still on the old Magic.
Meditech ? [2008-05-14]
I know the account I am on uses Meditech Word Client but you do not have to have the Word program on your computer so they provide the hospital web-based Meditech for you to use.
Meditech [2008-05-14]
Thanks so much for your response. I did not like working on the Meditech Magic which was horrendous (I think a spelled that right) LOL. Thanks.
Any RAD MT at MDI-MD using Meditech and Cphone? [2008-03-04]
I use a c-phone on current hospital account - no problems with it and make good money using it. I have never used Meditech platform and would love to hear from any MDI-MD rad MT who has used this combination (Meditech with Cphone) on the pros and cons. They offered me a good per report rate so I am considering employment. Thanks.
MediTech [2008-03-04]
I used Meditech with a C-phone for 3 years and thought I would lose my mind. It is a very old archaic-type platform and not conducive to production. Needless to say, you will not make much money with this platform.
I work for KS and not in Meditech. I do not need long distance either. sm [2008-02-19]
I think it depends on the account. I have never been this happy anywhere until Keystrokes.
Meditech [2008-02-15]
is typing right in the main frame interface.
Which shortcut program works best with Windows-based Meditech?nm [2008-02-05]
xx
What version of Meditech does KS use? I've [2008-01-29]
read that the old Meditech version is horrible, but that Meditech Magic is much better. I think there is also a Pro version too.
Not too much about Meditech [2008-01-29]
I worked on that for many years, and it is not transcription friendly at all. There should be plenty of posts on this.
I like Meditech. It depends on whether Magic or Client. They have both. nm [2008-01-29]

It's the pitts....sm [2008-11-01]
when I used that platform, my lines just never seemed to add up. So, i did a comparison in stand alone word and I came out with MORE lines than in the platform. I think they have it set to where they are cheating us out of lines, it has to be something. I was typing and working 16 hour days JUST to reach 1000 lines. And forget about the VR on that thing....you have to remain GLUED to your chair and computer in order to make a decent line count doing the VR and I had the function keys down to a T.....I will NEVER work on that platform again, Escription, Emdat, Scribe platform, those are AWFUL for me....Meditech is the most terrible one. Also, Diskriter uses some type of platform, can't remember the name, that is just pitiful.
Just the tone in her ad would make me not [2008-10-30]
want to apply, but also Meditech SUCKS big time and I think is really an outdated platform.
Wolfstar [2008-10-29]
There are not normally replies in the job seekers section as this is where we post the ads. It normally just shows how many people have read the ad.
As stated this is a very busy client, pay is weekly by report. We have just not had much luck in hiring people that will work what they say they will work. Some people are suited for a company, some are not. There are versions of Meditech and some like a particular version, and do not do well in others. Not everyone is a good fit for each other.
I can tell you thaI this is a very family oriented business. You are expected to work your chosen hours and if not at least notify so someone else can help cover the client.
hope that helps.
Chartnet [2008-10-24]
I currently use Chartnet andlike it. I just am not fond of the company I am working for. It really is not that hard to learn. I have used it for a few months. I prefer Word though.Iam just now feeling real comfortable with it thought. I also use Meditech which I really do not like but it helps pay thebill.
QED? No way! [2008-10-06]
This place is a sweatshop. Theyare contracted by a former employer of mine here in Joplin use Meditech, which is the awfulest software I have ever used! That is why they provide you with their own equipment. But they are forever recruiting because they have such a high turnover rate. Not at all impressed -- I encourage you to keep on looking!
I just read on their website under Employment Center (sm) [2008-10-02]
that they are hiring. I know they had a job listing posted on here a week or so ago for experienced Docuscribe MT's. I work on Meditech there but would kill to get back on Docuscribe again! I loved it...
That account in Texas was not a MQ account. They did not use DQS on that account until KS started. [2008-09-30]
They are moving 3 other accounts to DQS between now and January 1st. I asked. The MQ accounts they have gotten in the past did not go to DQS. I followed my old account, which is how I know, and it was Meditech. The account is still run by KS and is a big account too.

I am currently using it. I type in MSWord, copy [2008-09-18]
and paste in Meditech. One must be very careful to watch the Meditech screen to be sure you are pasting the right report. I especially like doing it this way because my Expander works with Word, and if for some reason the internet connection is lost, I do not lose my report but just re-paste when connected again.
I hate Meditech..there is too much to be entered before you ever get to the text screen, all of which we are not paid for. It demands a high rate per line. Otherwise, you work yourself to death and face applying for food stamps if the Meditech account is the only one you are transcribing. I would say 15 cpl is a minimum to get to break even...to break even!
Copy and Paste.... [2008-09-18]
I have a few of my own standards in MS Word that I will copy and paste into Meditech, but I find the tabs do not translate over to Meditech. Do you have this problem as well? It is aggravating because I have to fix these when I go back to the Meditech screen
There are a number of different [2008-09-18]
versions of Meditech. I type in Meditech Magic usingShorthand expander. I know lots of people copy and paste from Word, but I'm afraid I will screw something up. I really likeMeditech because I get paid by the gross line. I makemore moneyon this account than anywhere else. I also like Meditech becausethe patient's entire chart is available so rarely do Ihave to leave any blanks. Lab values can be verified, x-rays reports are accessible, etc.. It's not made for the MT, true, but there are a lot of benefits to using it.
Before someone hops on and say "why are you living paycheck to paycheck (inside) [2008-09-14]
I had a great saving account this time last year when the company I had been with 2 years took me off my primary (never would tell me why, just said me being shut out was a glitch in the hospital's system) floated me around (not telling me anything of course) because they were getting a Meditech account and wanted me on it (you wouldn't put someone not very experienced on it would you?). It did not take a rocket scientist to realize as soon as I got the C-phone what had happened. Also 80% ESLs. I spent the whole year supplementing my salary until it was gone and have been trying to find a decent company since. That is why I am living paycheck to paycheck and I hate it. I have 20 years in this business and it is getting worse. Speech is great but not for the money. It just does not justify being paid half. You cannot retrain doctors and I don't think management telling them they need to be considerate to us is going to work. Telling them we are making half just does not move them. They still rumble through files, change sentences, have long pauses we are not paid for, speech leaves out words or sentences so tell me why we are paid half? Also, I usually seach a company before I come on and ask for opinions, it saves a lot of space. I know I sound grouchy but I am tired and scared.

Would love to be on Docuscribe at KS [2008-08-21]
love to be on it again..it beats Meditech any day!
I don't think it is reasonable with ANY company. [2008-08-06]
The platform can be time-consuming. I know they have several Meditech accounts and they are not user friendly at all. I only had about an hour of training, but even if I had more it still takes actually using the platform to really learn it. Also you've got 200-300 dictators to deal with and you have to look up every name and that takes time. Then it depends on how good the dictators are, how good the sound files are, do you use a C-phone or get reports via FTP, etc. I just don't think it fair to expect anyone to be up to speed after only a week even if the platform is great, the dictators are great, etc. I also think that is more of a blanket statement. I have seen similar statements from other companies and it isn't enforced, but I know it sure can be a turn-off when you are looking for a position.
I find it very "MT friendly"....sm [2008-08-04]
Yes, it is Word-based....you use your own player software (I use Express Scribe) for the voice files, and you use your own Expander program. Lots of search options, by doctor, by patient, etc, to pull up old reports. Minimal demographics to input (at least on the account I am on). Accurate production count built-in that you can check at any time, also a great running log of your work history. I can clip right along in IScriptor - not the best I've ever used (that would be ChartNet) or the worst (Meditech), but basically no major complaints. Good luck!

TMT Transcription [2008-07-29]
I have worked for them since October 2007.Yes, they still pay by the minute. Ibelieve everyone is an IC and there are no benefits or insurance that I am aware of, however, this is a part-time job for me and I have full benefits through my full-time employer. They do use Meditech which I hate, but I have leanred to just deal with it. No DD either, checks are mailed directly from the owner of the company. If you need anymore info feel free to e-mail me.

Isn't this what the company board [2008-07-22]
The company board allows you to ask questions. I just can't see recruiters having the time to frequent this board and answer questions. Why not just contact the recruiter with questions. You'll get a right from the horse's mouth answer as opposed to people scorn. Everyone is different in their opinion. I've seen people that love Meditech or hate it. I've seen people that love Emdat and others that think it steals lines. So, I'm not so sure an additional board with the expectation that job recruiters will frequent this site all day and night and provide answers (also not knowing if it really is a recruiter) will enhance this site. It is what it is. If you want to ask about a company, the ask away on the company board, that's what it's for. Of course, this is all JMHO.
I don't think so... SM [2008-07-22]
I see the company board as, like you say, more of someone posting questions about their personal experiences with companies, the likes and dislikes, which is why it gets so negative a lot, IMO. I envision the Recruiting board for just facts. What type of platforms they use now and what positions areavailable on those platforms. Sometimes the posts/answers on the company board are old and outdated, plus you might be hired on ExText and not even know that your company also hires and uses Meditech for example.
Don't you find that a lot of times the jobs that are posted leave more questions than answers and that you have to ask more things. This way it's direct to them and they get to answer in a more global manner.
I just resigned after 8 mos. [2008-07-13]
It's hard to know what to tell you. There are some ppl on here who love Transcend and have all kinds of good things to say about it (they're the reason I chose to work there) and then there are the disgruntled employees who are obviously still very sour about their experience and to be frank I may be in the latter. I'll give you the skinny and give you the option or what to do from there.
Although the ppl at Transcend are very sweet, they can't guarantee anything. I was on a Meditech account but it took them a while to coordinate things thru the hospital. So in the meantime I had to work on MS Word and without any headers/footers or a ShortHand program to help I had to type every single word out. I built up the autocorrect as I went so it was at a snail's pace. (I just tried to tell myself anything is better than Medquist!). They sent me an antiquated piece of equipment (c-phone) so these conditions didn't give me a good feeling right from the start.
They finally get me hooked up with the hospital meditech and wouldn't u know it, it also is a completely outdated piece of software, probably 20 years old. So it's slow, lags, u get the picture. (I'm still happy not to be at Medquist) I'd worked on Meditech B4 so it didn't take me long to work it but it wasn't too long before I started running out of work which happens from time to time. As time went on I heard less and less from my TL and saw less and less work. There's no downtime pay there so if u want paid time off you have to use the PTO you've earned up till then and guess what - You have to be making your line count to earn it (and I wasn't). Same goes for benefits which as u know don't benefit u unless ur making line count. I'm required to get 6000 lines a week and i'm lucky to pull in 2000, Real Lucky. I've begged them to give me a secondary, this took them 6 weeks to get around to it. I spoke to someone on the new account and she told me horror stories like u wouldn't believe; submitted work mysteriously goes missing, cherrypicking, other ppl using ur ID, 80+ character lines instead of 65-character lines -- the list goes on. Plus you should see the Lanier they sent me - you would laugh seriously. I've given them all the chances I can afford to give them. I'm out of money, patience, time and tired of the excuses.
I've accepted another job and although it pays a little less/line, I'm SOOOOOO looking forward to leaving!
Now I'm not saying Transcend is as bad as Medquist - it's just a different kind of bad.
I agree with you [2008-07-05]
To tell you the truth, I am not crazy about Meditech either, BUT I can make 3x the money using that particular program.
