Don't worry one bit (sm) [2008-07-02]
If it's an issue, they will email you. It has to be something that happens repeatedly, I think, for them to really say anything. I just had a baby and was short a lot while I was pregnant. I'm not sure how you come up with that quota of lines, because FTE's have to produce 150 lines/hour. But anyways, like I said I was short quite a few times, even for the first couple of weeks after I came back to work, and I haven't been told anything. I guess it depends on your supervisor though. Plus, for legal reasons they have to have documentation that you were warned verbally, in writing, etc., whatever the various steps are, before they can actually fire you.

Don't worry, the frustration is not directed to you... [2008-06-05]
it's toward MQ. You're right, you are learning something by reading your QA info...or at least you should be. Unfortunately, with the huge number of hospitals with completely different rules and the inconsistency within our own QA, it is very hard to actually learn something from it. So, yes you have the right idea, it just doesn't work so well within MQ.

A question is not a worry. [2008-05-29]
Do you know who won the top prizes?

Also, don't worry if you only have MQ for 20 years. [2008-05-26]
Employers love that, as it shows pure loyalty and staying power. MTSOs for sure understand, so you don't have to go into horrible details of why you're leaving. The fact that you hung in there for 20 years is a plus for any future employer. Also shows you were a quality worker, or they would not have kept you for all that time. Feel the power!

OH NO just when I thought there was nothing else to worry about [2008-05-15]
Swarms of little red ants in Houston that short out computers. Waaaay to close to Oklahoma for comfort. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080514/ap_on_re_us/texas_ants

Don't worry too much [2008-05-10]
this is more specific to MQ and not MT companies in general, IMO

not to worry.... [2008-05-09]
Just called my bank....it's there..just not posted yet (whew!!!) Also got my tax stimulus check...(I'm rich for a day!!)

Okay, thanks just wanted to make sure. I haven't had to worry about it until now. (nm) [2008-04-29]
nm

Thanks, yeah....it sucks that I have to worry at all! [2008-04-26]
I always exceed the line quota--I'm just so worried that if I'm a half-hour short that will give them reason to cut my health insurance and bonus.

LOL, don't worry...WE get it :-) nm [2008-04-19]

Try not to worry. If something were going to happen, [2008-04-13]
you would have heard by now. As for poster below claiming not a legitimate audit, they have no idea of the details of this audit, nor do I. Its nice to try to be encouraging to each other, but we should not mislead. There are lots of different audits - you might be on an account that is audited regularly as part of their contract with us, and it might call for a specific number of jobs per MT to be audited, or you might be on a dictator that is getting audited. I would imagine with your scores of 99, 98 and 90, if I remember your post, they would even have to average them as well - take the total scores and divide by number of jobs, etc. When we used to get regular monthly performance audits, I believe the total number of jobs used was 6. They also used to only audit jobs with no blanks, which was fair, but then a lot of MTs found that out, and started leaving blanks in every job so they could never be audited. The antics some pull that ruin it for the rest of us....I'm sure your PS or QKL would be the one to help you with this, and why not just ask them what comes next? Again, it all depends on what the audit was for originally, and with high scores on your other jobs, obviously you should ultimately be OK.

and I used to worry on the very few occasions I had to do radiology [2008-03-27]
all 3 of them. In 10 yrs I bet 95% of transcription is VR, not because it is good, but because it is cheap. Drs and hospitals will be forfeiting a lot of freedom and personal variability in dictation due to use primarily of canned formats. Don't ever be glad you have a lot of normals for an account...that makes you much much less useful to anyone.

I wouldn't worry about it unless you don't have it [2008-03-24]
x

Well, you don't really have to worry about us FT'ers. [2008-03-20]
I haven't even hit my weekly normal + 2% yet and it's the last day of the incentive week. I won't hit it until the very end of the day, if that, with my 40 hours put in. I doubt many other FT'ers did either unless they worked their hinies off. It borders on virtually impossible for me unless I would have worked my one day off for the week, which I was unwilling to do. I needed the mental health more than I needed the money, I guess. LOL PT is looking better and better in this company. Seriously starting to consider going to PT and taking up with another company PT to wrap up all the incentives when they become available. Ha!

Don't worry... [2008-03-12]
DQS for the most part has been very reliable in my experience (4 years with MQ). I'm sure things will be okay once this mess is ironed out.

Nothing To Worry About [2008-03-12]
They sent the same form out last year, and I want to say that they did it the year before that, too. I believe they just want to make sure that they have a current copy on file.

Again, Nothing To Worry About [2008-03-12]
If you look on QNET, you will see that that is the same wording that is used for the downtime policy. That's how it has always been worded. If I'm not mistaken, it just means that you're supposed to check in frequently for the first 8 hours. After that, if there are still technical difficulties, you are released from the responsibility of repeatedly checking for the resolution and your supervisor is supposed to notify you when everything is back up and running.

awww..dont worry about it. i shouldnt have spread my negativity to begin with. [2008-03-07]
i dont worry about my typing errors on this board. i am usually in a real hurry and am so used to depending on my text expansion software correcting my repetative mistakes...lol, who gives a whoop if we misspell on this board. i even incorporate some of my text abbreviations into my text Expander in DQ. really helps. you all have a good friday!!!

Don't worry about the attitude....sometimes [2008-03-06]
people just eat ya up on here. By the way...right there with ya on the never-ending winter. Minnesota gal here...and UGH, WILL IT EVER END?? I just want to sit outside in the sun....maybe I just need a vacation.

Good for you! Not to worry [2008-02-25]

Thanks, and don't worry. We know most of you [2008-02-21]
are great, and we couldn't do it without you:)

poor cat - don't worry - you documented [2008-02-21]

don't worry about me :-) sm [2008-02-12]
I'm a part-timer, but don't have a minute extra, forget an hour or 2 (emotionally or physically) to dedicate to MQ because I have a FT job that more than compensates for any MQ contest/gimmick. I'm sure I'm not the only one working PT under these circumstances... so no threat here. Hopefully FT'ers will be the ones that get the prizes. IMO, they deserve them the most for hanging in there :-)

I would not worry about breaking the bank on MQ giving [2008-02-10]
new equipment. They get BIG tax write offs and depreciation on all of this.

If they know you are quitting then don't worry [2008-02-05]
about it. They will call you when they get around to it.

@@ [2008-08-18]
If there are eyeballs (@@) in a report, it automatically comes to QA Dept with a Function Reason on the Demo Screen that says something like Remove Stop Codes, or Stop Codes in Report. Anyway, don't worry.

My pay picked up after I got a new job [2008-08-15]
After I started working for my new company, within a few weeks my pay was back up to where it was before DocQScribe with MQ. Wow was I happy! One account, an incentive program I could decipher without the use of a code book, very little ASR, 2 cpl less for what ASR there is, and working with people who would actually talk to me ... it just felt like heaven. My worry headaches and sick feeling about work are gone. It's a good feeling.

best thing to do is watch what you reply...sm [2008-08-14]
if you don't want your thoughts (and hence your identity) read publicly, don't post it. When you post anything on a forum it becomes public knowledge, and as I have seen happen many times on here, people figure out who you generally are by your postings. I am assuming that the poster who uses the same name as yours may have posted some not so nice stuff? I wouldn't worry about it because as above poster said, those who want to really find out your information will be able to tell who posted the message, so you have no worries. The best advice is to try to post positive messages, leave if you cannot deal with what is said on here (I am posting here now after being gone for a very long time because of all the bickering and meanness that goes on here), and try to have something intelligent to say. Don't give out information that you know is private, especially company policies. Of course it is a great place to vent and share those horrible days when it is nothing but garbage mouth dictators, messed up reports and crappy line counts! I have found that most of the people on this forum are helpful, and can make you laugh when you just want to cry.

I believe the main concern is that we need to be [2008-08-13]
time. In other words, be sure to be logged onto Etime when in DQS and vice versa. The OP who started it all would just log onto etime, and not even be there, for hours at a time if I recall. So, even if you're working and have to go to the bathroom or take a quick break, as long as you aren't gone long - each PS should have a specific time limit, most I have heard are if you're away for less than 15 minutes, as long as you're logged into BOTH DQS and Etime you should have no worries. Anything over 15 minutes is considered a break, and then I believe we are to be off system for both DQS and etime. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it. Yes, as in so much in life, 1 bad apple does cause trouble for all. Its not fair but its life, especially in a huge company.

If they want you to punch a time clock, I think [2008-08-06]
they should pay us hourly. If they want to pay on production, then they should worry about line counts, like companies used to do before the corporates took us over. JMO. I hate time clocks.

This is important, take a stand [2008-08-05]
I agree 100% with you Mavrick. I too havebeen through multiple acquisitions and buy outs of this company over the past many, many years, and I have never been worried about it until now. Cbay (Kumar) has plans for MQ and he made them perfectly clear (and yes, I believe it was a real interview, it is a respectable English money magazine). He bought out the company in Detroit just to gain their clientele. Mavrick is right, we have to take a stand and that stand is UNION. I know, some of you don't want to hear it. Some feel this is unthinkable an option, but look were we are! Our jobs are about to go overseas, and unfortunately MQ leads by example so other companies will follow. This is the only profession I know that you make less moneyafter many years of service, not to mention our jobs are about to shipped overseas. Yes, we are professionals. We have had to become skilled not only medical terminology and the proper use of the English language, but pharmacology, anatomy, cardiology, neurology, orthopedics, oncology, and the list goes on. Not to mention a guardian over our patients legal record. I myself have many times caught mistakes made by dictators, some that would be detrimental to the patient's care. Medication doses for example, the dictator states 5 mg of a medication but you know it should be 0.5, that 5 mg dose could cause the patient great harm, so we leave a blank to draw attention to the error. If we had typed that verbatim, who knows what could have happened. I'm sure every one of you, my learned colleagues have come across the same situation at least once. My point is we deserve better than this. I have done some research and the union we would belong to is SEIU.org. My life insurance agent sells insurance to the unions, he told me to contact the Teamsters (the big guns) for advice. I thought if we had at least a dozen people across the country to get the ball rolling so we can bring it to the table for a vote. I can't do this alone. Those of you who are not in favor of a union, we all get to vote for it or against it, you will have a voice. You don't have to worry about losing your job as there are federal laws that protect us while we seek out a union. There are 6000 of us, together we have power. I urge all of you to take a stand for our jobs, the livable wage we used to earn, the future of our profession, to contact SEIU or the Teamsters in your area so we can do something before it is too late. I have spoken to my very knowledgeable and well spoken colleague and friend Mavrick and I am sure I can count on her support. If you would like to help please feel free to email me through this site. We have to take a stand before it is too late. As far as contacting your local and state representatives, I urge you to continue to do so, but we cannot rely on them, they have their own agenda, not to mention the very slow timetable. I read a post of an MT who had her local politician show up at her door unannounced, she did the right thing by not answering the door because she was working, but please contact this politician and make an appointment for him to visit you and tell him all about it. I have never heard of a politician responding in such a positive manner. I would vote for that guy. My local representative was busy running for president and emptying his pockets on the Tonight Show or Letterman, I can't remember which, but he has not been around in a long time, let alone vote on anything in Congress.

This was in a posted down below under Medical Transcription possible future. [2008-08-05]

MC is whistling past the graveyard, trying to convince us not to be scared. [2008-08-05]
I am betting he is just as scared of losing his job as the rest of us but his job as of today is to convince us not to worry our pretty little heads about the facts and details that endangers all of our jobs. He is the spin doctor for MQ - probably a temporary position until Kumar puts his own people in place.

A quote from you - sm [2008-08-01]
In case you forgot, this is a direct quote from your post: We have enough to worry about without your kind shoving their paranoid ramblings down our throats. We? Our? Did someone appoint you spokesperson? Simply put...no. Enough said now? Okay then. Again.

Shocked and saddened....by you. [2008-07-31]
I have to say I have never seen such a venomous post, personally. Why in the world do you want to panic everyone? If you are so unhappy at this company, why not just leave? Your doomsday message is way, way off course and I, for one, do not appreciate at all your trying to destroy the company that is paying my bills. YES, paying my bills and providing me insurance I could not afford otherwise. Your tactics and your accusations make you the bigger enemy for the MTs of MQ and posters here than MQ, Cbay or any other company in the world. I want and need this company to do well because I work for them. Forgive me if I do not want to participate in your burning at the stake...I would rather be someone who makes my own decision, not pounded over the head with hearsay and paranoid ramblings like a wild preacher with HIS (meaning the preacher's) ideology, than to be part of the destruction you are trying to cause. No, I do not think like you do and I am completely entitled to voice it. This board is not just for your point of view. I'm not sure what role you have at MQ but it certainly is not one of a coworker. Coworkers are a team and work together to solve problems, not create them. While I wish you well, I doubt I have to worry about you ever achieving it for yourself and certainly for others around you.

You left MQ, and this doesn't concern you any longer, [2008-07-31]
so go away. We have enough to worry about without your kind shoving their paranoid ramblings down our throats. As for your concern for your coworkers, I don't believe you. I think you take pleasure in the thought that MQ will go down the tube and take all those who didn't listen to your words of wisdom with them. If you had truly gotten on with your life, you wouldn't be posting here any longer.

Been there, done that, bought the T shirt [2008-07-30]
Sometime last week, an MQ MT posted a question here that was subsequently moved to the general board. The poster was asking if anyone had heard of Heartland MTSO and what had happened to them. I think it was an excellent question and the answer might be of benefit to MQ specifically. Heartland was owned by Manor Care, those folks with all the nursing homes. After a couple of years, Manor Care wanted to rid itself of Heartland because it was losing money. I should mention that I was a QA for Heartland when all this was unfolding. When I first came on board, most of the work was being done by India. Then they hired a lot of US MTs and I must say in all honesty the India MTs were much, much better at transcription. They seemed to care more and it showed. I'm not saying this to tick anyone off. It is a fact. In the meantime, Heartland was trying hard to find a buyer. We had meetings with management via conference calling. We had bulletins from management saying not to worry, things were going to be okay, nobody was going to be laid off, etc. Right. A few people, MTs and QAs alike, maybe didn't quite believe the rainbows and sunshine and started seeking other positions. I was among them, and started at the Q about 6 months before Heartland management announced a layoff and sale of the company to India. The end. Didn't apologize for the lies, the misrepresentations, etc. Nada. So sorry, good-bye, we don't need you no more. Does any of this sound familiar? Please, please don't be in denial. Start looking. There are good companies out there who want your talents and work ethic. The end is near, and that's the truth, plain and simple. Good luck to all of you. And yes, I found another position and will work 2 jobs until the axe falls here.

Retirees going into MT [2008-07-29]
At least most of the retirees I meet seem to have a good education. They have decent spelling and grammar, read books and newspapers, and can write a letter. I constantly get approached about MT by young ladies or their moms hehheh who have no qualification other than they want to stay at home. The first question I always ask is what about their education? How are they with spelling and grammar. The answer is always no, they barely passed high school. But I do worry about retirees and dexterity - speed - pain in hands - limited eyesight - computer savvy. It almost seems like a form of cruelty!

Right, key being the title Magnum Opus. [2008-07-29]
His greatest piece of work, creation, etc. Does anyone not notice that NEVER does this guy mention us, the US MT? Never ever 1 word. We are disposed of already. We don't actually exist. That was the most chilling part of this whole interview to me. We don't exist. Period. Otherwise, this guy has a big mouth, is happy to get any press, and one would think by now he would be writing us all and giving assurances. Has anyone gotten anything from Mr. Kumar? Only person who said not to worry was Mr. H, and he golden parachuted away PERMANENTLY, with his 6 figure bonus. This whole thing is a farce, but its happening nonetheless.

Word issues [2008-07-28]
My training is to type as dictated, even on a not-strict account. That's not a horrible word. Perhaps a little unprofessional, but kind of cute. We all know which docs have small children, don't we...Before I became QA, a QA person told me to put half quotes, but I'm not sure that's still the rule. I wouldn't worry about this.

Based on This, I Could Make Millions [2008-07-28]
SELLING BS METERS! Don't worry. There's plenty to be made by the rest of y'all! Go for it!

Based on This, I Could Make Millions [2008-07-28]
SELLING BS METERS! Don't worry. There's plenty to be made by the rest of y'all! Go for it!

I don't know if it's ever happened to me, but [2008-07-28]
I wouldn't worry about it. The only way that will bite you in the butt is if it's checked for a random QA audit. Otherwise, both reports will go to the dictator and he'll be too embarrassed (or at least he should be) to make anything of it. Not only that, but since it's a hospital, he probably doesn't care (or even know) that the hospital's been billed for each report. Type on and don't worry about it.

Of course MQ big guns know everything [2008-07-21]
going down. Nothing is a surprise. All of this has been meticulously negotiated and then put into place, even going back with CBay to 2007. Andit turns out the company was put up for auction back in February. Bit different wording thanMr. H had used in our not to worry emails. This entire companyas we picture it is an illusion. As others have posted, the bigger guns have simply golden parachuted away, some of the bigger guns are willingly and happily remaining in place during the transition phase and already know the limits of their employ and the $$ they will be compensated. As for the supervisors and QA and MTs, well, seriously their fate is very simple to predict. Its in writing on the Indian end. They will for sure replace supervisors with their own Indian supervisors ASAP, with my bets going QA next very quickly - they have huge QA staffing inIndia, and then as many MTs as possible, operating with a skeleton crew of US MTs only for clients who insist. What American MT would be happy working for an employer like that is way beyond me. They (CBay) do not want American workers, and have made no attempt at hiding that. Only MQ management has had the audacity to infer that MTs would be safe. The Indians taking over have no time for smoke screens, so it should be over with quickly, as per their past behavior. Remember good old Dr. Phil, that the best predicter of future behavior is past behavior. Also, though, due to the lame response to what should be a hot topic post, the MTs here have their heads back in the proverbial sand again, and are gonna just pretend their sky is not falling. Its a shame. Has made me sick with worry for them for a while, but I don't care anymore, as its more than obvious that MTs would rather spend hours on here posting about a perceived QA slight and trashing each other, than even discussing the fact that their careers are in peril, let alone take action now. Such is life, I guess.

Isn't that just awful? - sm [2008-07-21]
Quite awhile ago (I never forget this stuff when it's so off base), I had one in which ASR transcribed*thepatient, herhusband and their 3 children live inside her vaginal vault*. A bit crowded, wouldn't you say? Utterly ridiculous, yet so tempting. Sometimes I'd be surprised if anyone would even catch it if I did letthese go. If I didn't have to worry so about my job, I'd love to take the chance and find out some day.

Yikes!!!! I left a blank on a report and then [2008-07-16]
went back to check it in the statistics (not Qasar). I noticed that QA filled in the blank I had left (thanks QA!!!). However, I noticed another mistake in the report where I had transcribed *bilateral lateral rectus resection when it was supposed to be *bilateral lateral rectus RECESSION* OUCH!!!! This was a cesspool report and Ophthalmology, which I am not too familiar with.I did look it up on the internet and it's there BOTH ways. Anyway, still my mistake, my fault. I couldn't expect QA to catch that as I'm not on 100% QA. So, my problem is...(it's midnight BTW)....what can I do, if anything? The report already went through like that. What will happen? Will the doctor hopefully see this and send it back for correction. I hope he READS it. I'll probably call or email my PS in the morning, but something like this happened about a year ago...I called all frantic and my PS at the time was TOTALLY unconcerned. She just said, don't worry, it happens. And that was that. I can't help it, I'm very worried! I can't STAND the thought of having that mistake on the report. What if the doc doesn't see it!!! HELLLLLLPPP!

thanks QA [2008-07-16]
just wanted to say hello back to QA and thanks!i've been very appreciative of QASAR being back up....i read all my flagged reports and learn what i can from them. i agree with the folks who have said not to worry about the recession/resection....i'm sure we all make errors that we don't even notice and the reports go out like that. we do our best and try to catch something, but when you have the virtual boss with the whip at your back wanting quantity over quality, its not always possible. i've said this before and i'll say it again, as perfect as we like to think we are (some of us), we are not. mistakes happen. this is why it is THE DICTATOR OR THE SIGNING PHYSICIAN's ultimate responsibility of what is in the report. if they sign it and send it out without reading it, the final responsibility rests on THEIR shoulders, not ours.

I Read Mine! [2008-07-14]
Even if I had a problem with QA (no reason to get ticked at QA, quite the opposite), I would be the fool for not reading their input. But go ahead and do what flips your switch. Also, has QA hired a bunch of new employees? I know my reports are bad when QA has been leaving quite a few blanks that I had no choice myself. No fakin' it here or QA! I also noticed that they crosseda few things out I typed and retyped the exact, same thing. Anyone care to guess why? Don't worry: I'm not the QA police...far from it!

Thanks! We don't see anything that you folks do [2008-07-13]
so I have no idea where you can view our names. Some MTs don't seem to be aware of that, which makes me worry about if they even see feedback. But, not my problem either. Thanks for the info.

bonus [2008-07-10]
I did not get a bonus with this check. The one from the last pay period was a litte over $5. Not enough to buy a cup of coffee anymore. But then, I guess i do not need to worry about that any, I AM OUT OF HERE!!!!! Start a new job on Monday.
