QNET [2008-08-28]
Great selection...taken out of your check, shipped quickly...
There was a production bonus offered a [2008-08-26]
couple of weeks ago, and it should have been on yesterday's paycheck. Does this show up in the bonus column, or just under the regular stuff?
Nevermind..went to Qnet and figured it out [2008-08-13]

QNet [2008-08-12]
Did MQ do away with QNet. I can't get log in since MQ Central was set up. Thanks.
Just accepted a job with MDI, and they offered me... [2008-08-06]
the same line rate I'm making now with MQ. Now, it is IC work (ok, statutory employee), but that is what I was looking for.
Can't wait to get started!
We've been offered OT most of the past week... [2008-07-20]
and last weekend, too. TheImpact Roomcalled me last weekend, and yesterday, again while I was working. I hate when they do that! My supervisor knows I work OT whenever I can, and I do almost every evening for awhile after my regular shift ends when it is offered. For the time it takes to spend on the phone with the IR, it's getting to the point MQ ought to offer usdowntime or training pay as it's becoming so frequent! LOL...as if.
QNET [2008-07-14]
Hi all. Does anyone know if we can still access QNET? I cannot seem to get on there anymore. How do we order Stedmans products through work on MQCentral? I used to do that on QNET. It tells me my email address is invalid. I tried my new MQCentral email address and that failed too. Thanks for your help. If no one knows, I will try support, of course.
DOWNTIME POLICY - Go to QNet, all info you need to know is there. NM [2008-07-06]

Yeah but that's not the one from QNet. [2008-06-17]

It was never on QNet. Just offered through it. [2008-05-09]

Okay, I go to Qnet to get through to Ipay; sorry. nm [2008-05-09]

Anyone bought one of the chairs through Qnet? [2008-04-25]
I was just wondering if anyone has bought one of the $250 chairs. If you did, could you let me know what you think of it? Thanks!
It's on Qnet -- s/m [2008-04-14]
Go to Qnet and log in under employee. Down along the left hand side, click on MT. Under MT, click on discount programs. On the right, a box will pop up with 2 links - the first (the larger print) is for the Phillips store. The smaller one near the bottom should say dell - click on it and go to the dell website and register for a log-in. You should be good to go - it's not much of a discount, but it's something anyway.
I found on Qnet that all MT's are required to learn and MT and ME, also [2008-04-12]
new hires are required to learn both. (Yes, we all know that a few who are lucky are getting away with not having to do ME). What I cannot find in writing whywe are deducted 30% for ME. I hear a lot about it, but I do not see it in writinganywhere. I also thought a few months ago or a year ago it was more or less? I believe it is in the manual, but I thought it was supposed to be posted on Qnet. Does anyone know where it is documented in writing (besides manual)so I can send this to someone who might be able to fight for our wages. Also in my state, it says I am required a 10 minute break paid by employee after two hours and yet I thought we were supposed to sit and type away and if we need to take a break, then we are to punch out so it will not hurt our production. Correct me if I am wrong, but sounds like a . . . . well, I do not want to start anything.Justgetting my facts together to get ready to fight for us.
I do not have any problems getting to QNet. Must only happen SM [2008-04-09]
to some people.
In the FAQs in QNet MT Reward section [2008-04-06]
there is a question about why our line rate was reduced to 70%. In the explanation about productivity being increased by 20 to 33%, it also says that there will also be another productivity increase of 5% in July.
These FAQs were updated 7/2/07. Do they mean that in July 2008, we will have a 5% increase in productivity of ASR, so that will be another 5% decrease of line rate pay? I have been trying to figure if this is what is meant. Any ideas?
The policy is on Qnet but s/m [2008-03-28]
It based on a couple of things. You must produce more than 150 lph average for the month. Only lines over 150 lph average are eligible for the bonus. You also have to meet the QA requirements and the scheduled hours. There are specifics to these on Qnet regarding the monthly bonus. I don't remember the specifics, so I would suggest you check it out on Qnet.
As of noon, my primary is still 3 days out of TAT and OT is offered thru weekend...sm [2008-03-20]
and I am so drop-dead tired at this point that I am getting slap-happy. Am up to 50 hours so far this week, and no end in sight.
There is a policy on it somewhere on qnet and [2008-03-19]
??
Same as 3 as far as I know. I was not offered a raise but...sm [2008-03-17]
consider getting back to operative reports raise enough.
Nothing else being offered...Just got email asking everyone [2008-03-16]
to double their regular production that's all.
This might be doable for someone who normally only works 4 hours a day AND doesn't have another job but it's asking a bit much from full time. Oh well, can't squeeze time not there out of a turnip.
Yes. It's on Qnet. nm [2008-03-14]
i never was tested. I was acquired with another company [2008-09-05]
and I stay only because I haven't found another job. I'm not looking for another MT job. I believe in time it would turn out the same. I've been going to school part-time for the last 8 years and recently applied for two jobs through my school - a credit analyst and a collections specialist - neither are what i really want to be doing, but they both sound like decent enough jobs. A relative offered me job running a cash register in his store Friday, Saturday & Sunday night for minimum wage. I turned that down. I'm going to leave Medquist for a good job, not another piece of cr@p one that just like Medquist. I've also been taking tests with the state civil service, and I've down well on most of them. I'm at the top of the list in several jobs in several counties, so there is hope there. & they are really good paying jobs. If I could get an accounting job with the state, there is a good possibility that I could be making close to $100,000 per year by the time I hit retirement...oh... and then there is also the possibility that I would actually retire, which is not so apparent with this job.
Me too! [2008-08-29]
Your story is so similar to mine. I quit MQ about 9 years ago and when i was leaving they finally offered me a raise, but I declined, but came back because they made me a better offer 7 years ago and still have not received a raise, have asked but not good enough, I see that my 100% is not good enough! Well, one more week with the Q and I'm outa here! Go to indeed.com and look up medical transcription jobs, you will be amazed, as was I.
Thanks for the reply, Jo, but . . . . [2008-08-28]
I know this sounds like an idiotic question, but how do I access QNET now?? I have tried my old I-mail address (user name) as well as the new MQCentral user name, and have not been successful. What's the secret? I know my password, but I just can't figure out what the user name is.
As far as I know [2008-08-23]
I read somewhere that bonus info is posted on Qnet. I have yet to go there to read it. I think they average out your lines over 3 months and then they pay out a bonus once every month depending on how many lines you did over your average. If anyone can explain in more detail, please do so. It is just so hard to follow I gave up at one time trying to figure it out. In the email though they did give what looks like the formula I just have not taken the time to figure that out either. I am just surprised if I get one. A few months back I made $80 and I never expected that. Last month I made $40 but nothing in between those months and I do not know why. I'm too stressed out to figure it out.
health insurance [2008-08-18]
I know this info is probably posted on qnet somewhere but I thought I would check here real quick as to my question of benefits. If meeting production for full time can you sign on to benefits at any time or are there periods out the year that you can choose health benefits. I thought I remember that you only had june and september to enroll. Does anyone know if this still holds true? TIA!
RE: Question [2008-08-15]
Congrats. I too left after 9+ years just about 2 months ago. You PS just wants to make sure why you're leaving. Mine was great about it. She asked if there was anything she could to make me stay and I said nope. She also told that about 2-3 weeks after your last day, you would receive labels to return your computer tower. They didnot anything else back but the tower. Hey, I got a free pedal and extra monitor out of the deal. I did request that she send me an email stating that only the tower needed to be returned, just to cover my butt in the long run. I got the labels right around the time she said they would come. If you kept the boxes they came, then all you have to do is tape it back up and slap the sticker on and drop it off at an UPS store. Took me all of 30 seconds. Didn't cost a thing. I did just get the last follow up survey MQ gives to see how satisfied with our job experience we were. They asked, if they offered more money would I consider staying. Said nope again, I am really happy with my current company. Told them I was not happy with having to take a pay cut for a program that was not learning and did not improve my production what so ever. Not as brutal as some probably would have been, but I think I got my point across.
Hope this helps. Congrats again.
Ques. about breaks..... [2008-08-13]
First of all, I was never actually told and couldn't find anything in my new hire papers, etc about breaks and lunches. Are our lunches 30 mins? and do we get a 15 min break before after lunch? Curious about what others do?
Second, if we have to punch out for breaks and lunch, do they expect us to work past our scheduled hours in order to make a full 40 hour week? If you add up the unclocked time from lunch and breaks then the hours will be short. I was wondering this for a long time and keep forgetting to ask my PS.
Oh! One more question. I emailed my PS about this but haven't heard back yet. Since I've been working here, since December, I have never checked the end session box. When I'm done working I just log off. Well, today I read something on Qnet that says (or I think it says) that if you don't, the next job will stay in your que and look like it has been abandoned. Noone has ever said anything to me but I'm going to start checking that box. I just don't like that you have to check it and then do 1 more report before logging off. When I'm done, I want to be done. Some reports, regardless of the length, may take longer than expected due to ESL or having to research or something. And sometimes things come up where I need to be done right away and don't have time for all that.(like getting the kids to school on time, etc)
Just like to hear some of your thoughts.
QNet [2008-08-12]
Did MQ do away with QNet. I can't get log in since MQ Central was set up. Thanks.
I had a phone interview [2008-08-08]
yesterday evening and they are definitely interested in me. They offered me more cents per line than MQ is paying me. I just have to do the written test and the typing test today and send it in. So wish me luck!!!!!
Also, where do I find my expansion file so I can save it to a disk. This other company uses the same program and it would be so nice to just transfer my expansions instead of trying to remember them all by memory.
Let them know you are nervous. I think it makes you more human. sm [2008-08-07]
I come off like an idiot in interviews because I am so nervous. I started telling the interviewer that and have found them all to be very nice to me. I get offered everyone job I apply for but cannot take the final plunge yet. I am too chicken to change.
RE: where to find etime use policy [2008-08-07]
check etime tutorials at QNet and also under policies at HR on MQCentral. Information on proper usage of etime is listed there.
Ordering books [2008-08-06]
I'm trying to order a book, but was unable to log on to Qnet, using a wide assortment of current and formeremail addresses, none of which worked. When I called the Help Desk, the guy said we no longer have access to Qnet, andhave to go through MTCentral.I don't see anything there that remotely resembles a place to order books. Any ideas?
Books [2008-08-06]
I went through Qnet. You use your MQ email address (the whole address, not just our name) and same password to get into MQ Central to order books.
Honesly, you should feel lucky if you're not legally [2008-08-06]
deal and an issue that has been dealt with time and time and time again on mass emails, Qnet, the ethics gargage and code of conduct, etc. Its a huge deal, time card fraud, and it does not matter that you are paid on production. You know better. MQ, while I loathe them personally, has had to pay millions and millions of dollars in lawsuits and fines and penalties for time card issues after being sued by MTs and caught by Dept of Labor. Everything you make is based on your time card issues, so you have no excuse. It is also crazy to be complaining about it on the internet, and giving way too much detail to identify you. And filing WC to boot. As someone else said, hopefully lesson learned for you, but you broke the law, federal law.
My Idea of a BONUS [2008-08-05]
A very dear friend of mine works for another MTSO. They offered 50 CENTS EXTRA PER MINUTE to get things cleaned up! And no, this friend doesn't make stuff up. In fact, she was mad that they sent this to her so late in her day.
I say we give MQ yet another name (provided it doesn't already have this one): QUELESS!
If the Q wanted to get caught up in proper style (that's sarcasm for plain decency), they'd do things like this!
Recently contacted by a Recruiter offering job, turned it down s/m [2008-08-01]
due to another position that I had just started. Well, I have decided the grass isn't always greener on the other side. This place that has been talked up on this board and others offered me more money, but very little work, so 0 x .10 cpl = 0, but 10,000 lines 0.085 per line= at least enough to live on.
Since I told the recruiter no thanks, I don't know who to get in contact with about being re-hired. I tried just submitting a new application, but it won't let me because it says I am still an employee. Who should I contact? What is the protocol for this?
Every state has different rules, but....sm [2008-07-31]
in my state, and in a previous state I lived in, when you go to collect unemployment, you are required to look for work and apply at a minimum of two companies a week, and bring in proof that you were turned down for the job... whether they weren't hiring or you didn't have enough of the qualifications, couldn't peform the necessary duties, etc.
In this day and age, I can't imagine that most MQ MTs couldn't find another job in a day or so... most of us are great MTs and would probably be accepted at any company that is currently listed on the job boards. The problem with those companies (not all of them, of course) is that the pay is pretty low or they don't offer the hours or shifts an MT may be looking for... but in my state, that doesn't matter. If there is a job available that you are qualified for and it is offered, you aren't eligible for unemployment compensation... If that was the case, everyone could go on unemployment and stay there because we're not finding the job of our dreams. As far as the Job Service and unemployment offices go, a job is a job, unless you are turned down for a legimate reason due to lack of experience or a physical reason for not being able to perform that job, you are employable and therefore not able to claim unemployment benefits.
Other states may vary, but I know in the two states I've live in where friends or family have had to file for unemployment, this is the case. I think years ago they couldn't make you take a job that was out of your field of expertise or if it was a substantial cut in your usual income, but I don't think that's the case anymore with the loss of so many white-collar jobs in the past decade.
In our area where high-paying jobs are scarce, that certainly isn't the case anymore... if McDonald's or WalMart or a convenience store are hiring and you can't find a job in your profession, you work at a lesser job until one comes up in your field... our govt doesn't want anyone on unemployment, they want those numbers down... they need to look like their doing something about finding people jobs here in the US..... they don't have to be good jobs, just any job to keep the figures down there.
MTs who went thru this in the last year shared [2008-07-31]
that they were gotten rid of by being offered ridiculous shifts or work schedules, designed for them to have to decline, thus making it that they quit rather than were fired. Again, it should be in archives, but I haven't been able to find it. They were quite ingeniuous at it. I believe they also only had a trickle of work, but enough so that they did not get held liable, and crazy hours, etc. Maybe one of the MTs who experienced this will share details with us again, as they did last night?
They actually prefer Indian QA. Supposedly those [2008-07-29]
are their big guns - the highly eductated or even doctors who QA Indian work. QA position will be quickly eliminated once all is set in motion, I'm sure. I would guess QA first to go actually, then MTs. I think once it starts, it will be fast. When CBay was announced a while back, there were lots of MTs posting here with hints and tips for us, as it had happened to them. These are some of the very US companies mentioned in this interview. They all said it was very fast, within a month or two, and they all were let go with no notice or warning. Many were offered things that they had to refuse, thus making us quit rather than be fired, etc. Again, all these posters were very concerned and helpful to us, but many blasted them that none of this was even going to happen, so maybe they will forgive and come back and offer first-hand experience. Not sure.
Part of my email from Corporate. [2008-07-29]
This means that only MQ owned or licensed software may be installed and your Instant Messaging, e-mail and Internet usage is limited to what is required to fulfill your job responsibilities.

From Keystrokes to MD-IT, back to MQ. [2008-07-28]
I quit MQ a year ago because of the drop in our ASR income and the sudden cesspool. I was with Keystrokes who told me I needed to buy my own computer which was apparently compatible with Vista. A week after I started with them, they changed their minds, said they had too many glitches to work out. I was stuck with a brand-new computer, all new programs, totalling over $1000. My loss. I then bought a C-phone to work on another account they offered me, but it felt like a dinosaur compared to MQ's DocQscribe. I left for MD-IT in Colorado. The recruiter and the MTs I worked with were nice. The account I was put on was surgery, which I have worked on with MQ very profitably in the past due to my Expanders (pre-ASR). There were only two other MTs on the account, and they had been with it for 15 years, basically stuck in their ways. I had to learn to think like them, but even between them they disagreed, so I never really got a straight answer to many things, creating quite a bit of confusion. Also, their program, ExpressScribe, was difficult for me. The typing screen is smaller than DocQScribe and any time you hit a key on the keyboard, it kind of blinks. The technical department couldn't fix this. You also had to buy your own Expander program, which had its limitations. Also, you couldn't just click on a doctor's name, you had to look it up on the Internet, then copy it down by hand, then type that into the screen - cutting and pasting didn't work because of the formatting, which by the way had to be done all by hand, with every single document. When I went back to the recruiter with my suggestions to improve it (as it worked with DocQscribe), he said he would put it on the list for the technicians, but it could take months. I felt like I was transcribing with only one hand and one eye shut, very compromised. I stuck it out with that company for a couple of months, then came crawling back to MQ. Maybe I just had an unusual amount of bad luck, but I think MQ is a good fit for me. I have over 20 years' transcription experience and have been with MQ for going on 8 years now. They have their glitches but now at least I know what's out there.
that's really funny...Good Luck w/that MQ [2008-07-28]
fortunately for the Q, I was not one of the 400 to receive the survey :( but I can't wait for the results. They have to be the lousiest company to work for. Every year my bills go up and my pay goes down. Bravo, MedQuist. But don't feel sorry for me because while for the last 7 years I have worked as a slave for that company, I have also been going to school part-time. I am almost a senior now, and I can't wait to be done w/school and with the Q. I can't wait for the day to come when I am offered a decent job, and then I'm going to ask the Q for a raise. They of course will say no, and then I will say see ya, and if they try to then give me a I will say it's too late now, you sorry losers. you should have paid me what i deserved a long time ago, you big fat sorry losers.
Yep, I left, wouldn't go back unless they doubled my pay [2008-07-27]
And also got rid of the cesspool, strict schedule, impact room, cheating me out of my bonuses, and everything else that was making me depressed and hate my job.Making almost double a week what I was making at MQ with my new job, with higher pay, better incentive, better platform, and one account. MQ offered me more money to come back, still couldn't come close to competing with where I'm at.
I believe I read under the bonus policy [2008-07-22]
a while back on Qnet that you must be actively employed at the time the bonus is paid in order to receive it. So in answer to your question, I don't think you'll get it. You may want to check, though, on MQCentral on the incentive policy.
I accidentally deleted by BOS icon on desktop [2008-07-21]
Who knows where to find the free download for AAMT BOS guidelines on QNET or MQCentral?
