You're right, pay us more...or at least stop cutting [2008-12-01]
our pay. I'll keep doing my minimum for MQ in hope that things turn around, but I'm not holding my breath. I used to love working for MQ, but now I'm ashamed to tell anybody I do. I haven't had any luck with with my supes since about 4 of them back. She was the best supe I've had at any company I worked for. They called her up one day right before Christmas and told her she was no longer needed. No reason, she never saw it coming, they just dropped her. The supe she had replaced (who was horrible) was promoted to manager. Imagine that.
These posts....same poster, and I stand by my statements above. I really am curious.
Did you sign it? - What are you expecting as a result?
Hope you didn't use your name like - another below has
I don't think they'll take anyone seriously - who tries to be anonymous.
I signed my name when I sent my comments. - I don't think putting a name is bad
And? What do you think will happen? - They've made their decision
Because they have no idea what they're doing! - nm [2008-11-29]

Scrooge, you're one to talk, you sound like the Grinch!...sm - typinlikemad [2008-11-24]
I never once discouraged anybody to leave MQ in my post.
If you're not happy with MQ, move on. No one should stay at any job they hate. But, if you do move on, then leave it behind and don't look back.
You mentioned you'd rather be flipping burgers than continue working for MQ.
QUIT and FLIP.
If you could actually make as much money doing that, why stay at MQ?
I make more than double our minimum wage and about $4 more an hour than the rate for local MT jobs. I definitely couldn't make a similar income flipping burgers or working at our local WalMart.
The one thing I've notice on this forum, it's always the same people complaining post after post and saying they're leaving day after day. Some do do it but the majority are still around. I guess that shows MQ isn't that bad.
Hate Your Job - QUIT.
Like Your Job - STAY.
Hey baby, you're soo right on. They're great too. Thanks. NM [2008-11-24]

You're correct. [2008-11-24]
They still have that silly pool, however. Which is why everybody's monthly bonus goes down when they have a special limited-time incentive.
Try Keystrokes. They have a lot of old MQ accounts and they're hiring. sm [2008-11-23]
I made the move a year ago, and it was the best thing that I ever did.
I have held on very part time with MQ because of an outstanding 401k loan but now I am going to be free completely as of 12/10!!!
Scrooge, you're one to talk, you sound like the Grinch!...sm [2008-11-23]
If people are unhappy, who are you to discourage them from changing, just keeping them trapped in this small little Q world, afraid of the big bad change up on the mountain! I would love to log on to see that I have no work, that would mean I was laid off and could collect unemployment, and I could sure use a break from allof the negative this close to the holidays! As for being thankful for having a job, you know what, I think I would rather go flip a burger and smell like grease, than to continue to take this abuse. I have never, ever, ever worked for any other company that continues to cut my pay! I used to bea very big MQ cheerleader, but of late, I cannot find anything to cheer about. I am a single mom with two teenage kids (for those of you about to bash, no their dad did not run away, he passed away so be kind!), so I do think I am quite understanding about having a job in this economy, and I am very careful about telling people to make a snap decision. I am actually going back to school because I have had enough! Who cares if Iam 45--50 when I become a nurse, if I can do itand make enough money tohelp my kids, that is the goal. When my son makes as much money as I do working in a burger joint, it is time to change the scope of things! I may even go be a greeter at WalMart while I go to school, it pays more, and the people and customers actually appreciate a smile!
The point is, and I can say this with conviction from experience from losing my husband in our very prime of life and happiness, LIFE IS TOO SHORT to be miserable. We are only here for a very short time. Do what makes you happy and calms your soul. It is not the money we take with us, it how we felt while we were making money, it is not about the car we drove while we were here, it was how many times we offered someone a ride who needed it, etc., you guysknow all of this. If you are unhappy move on, it will make more room for someone who is happy. That is not saying you are a bad person for not being happy, it says you have the courage to change things.
MAY ALL OF YOU HAVE THE VERY BEST HOLIDAYS EVER
AND GOD BLESS US ONE AND ALL!
We all need a little Tiny Tim in our lives!
maybe they're expecting QA to pull [2008-11-22]
If so, seems like it would be more cost effective and quality would be better if MTs did straight typing and did their jobs... like researching... but what do I know... I'm just a number who's been around for almost 40 years... Go Suits! NOT
true, but no know what? when you're messing [2008-11-22]
with peoples lives/money, no time is a good time.
When they snatched my $400/month daily bonus a year and a half ago, I had just made some financial decisions that, with a little more notice, would have been much different.
I am still recuperating and devastated. I had to use CCs (which I hardly did before) to cut the slack until I was able to find an additional job (now PT with MQ), but it's like a snowball rolling down the hill at this point for me financially.
I am grateful that I do have a job... or 2 jobs now... but I will never forget or forgive them, much less be loyal to them, for giving such short notice of such a drastic pay cut for some MTs. My story is nothing compared to others I've heard...
anyhow, I digress... to do this now is compassionless, but it doesn't surprise me. They will never devastate me like they did before since I'm only PT with them and my other job can give me more work if I want if MQ somehow terminates me.
Someone else may devastate me, but no one does it twice.
they're on the dangerous abbr list [2008-11-21]
at least q.d. and q.p.m. are, couldn't find anything about p.o. Every since that new dangerous list came up, I've found it ironic that q.a.m. wasn't targeted as dangerous. Go figure!
You're exactly right and that is what I need [2008-11-20]

I understand where you're coming from...(sm) [2008-11-20]
but you should also understand where we are coming from. We can't just let something go if it is incorrect. Our work is also reviewed. You just think we are anal. Try getting back one of our reviews...LOL.
I don't say this to be mean. In fact, I feel for you because I've been an MT before too, so I know what it's like, as do most other QA staff.
You should also remember that the QAS staff is also comprised of people, and people make mistakes. You may well have one QA who will put a hyphen in and another who won't. Personally, if it's something that would be correct either way, I won't change it.
You don't lose anything (that I know of) from QA at this point. I know it's hard to swallow coming from me, but just relax, learn what you can, look up discrepancies, and do what you know is right. There are much more important things going on right now besides this.
i don't hate you; i think you're brilliant and want to follow in your footsteps -nm [2008-11-19]

Be glad you're not me [2008-11-19]
I've been with MQ for 13 years and only get 7-1/4 cpl. New ASR rate is 4 cpl. I wish I had your pay. You should be happy with the rate you have. Try being single, no man, no kids, and making it on this pay. With your rate, sounds like you are management. Good luck.

If you're in America, speak ENGLISH. [2008-11-15]
I could swear I hear ESLs speaking their other languages, too, in their dictations. It's rare that I get one that speaks slowly. These days more often than not, I think they're just too full of themselves having beat the system to work here and not in their third-world country, making OUR money, not confident but cocky. I personally refuse to be treated by a doctor that I can't understand. What about our older generation who hasn't traveled the world, lived in polyglot cities as I have. I can't imagine how confused they must be having to suffer through trying to understand their medical illness, let alone through the tongue of someone who can't even pronounce half the words. It makes me mad. I remember how hard it was for ME to pass the exam for my RN license. How can those ESLs ever do it?
MQ doesn't take into account how doing ESL dictation can wear you out.
You're not alone [2008-11-14]
I'm lucky if I can get $12/hour. This new improved sysem sure didn't keep me out of the cesspool at all. I haven't seen much of my primary all week.
How can you get more if you work extra hours, when we're limited to 40 hours a week? Maybe something's changed that I missed?
Uh..excuse me...but just cuz you're on the [2008-11-13]
we are production employees...period. We are paid for production. I not give a rats a** if I am clocked in and do whatever the hell I want..as long as I get my required line count in. That is what I am paid for..nothing more, nothing less. Get rid of E-Time it is absolutely COUNTERPRODUCTIVE!!!!
if you're sick, you're sick [2008-11-05]
My goodness, call and take the night off. This is ridiculous really. I really hope you feel better soon. It's bad enough being sick but to have to sit there and work through it is terrible.
Maybe you're right - sm [2008-11-03]
I know you're absolutely right about the conference calls! If they would just send out a short, sweet blanket mail to all of us saying do this it would be a whole lot easier. I believe that most of us KNOW that the ADT screen is important - stop harping on that and just give us a clear cut answer as to the procedure when the info isn't given.
Sorry if I told anyone wrong.
Oops! You're right sm [2008-11-02]
I received an email dated 10/14 with this link in it. I guess that's were I got that date.
You're an MT. There are a lot ESLs with better jobs than you. You win. NM [2008-10-31]

We're in the money, we're in the money! [2008-10-29]
you think??
I was impressed with my line count this morning, and then I realized the mistake :(
Yes, I was rather mocking or correcting sarah [2008-06-06]
myself. Thus the Villain QA (as opposed to Villan)... I guess I should have clarified that I meant here we go on MT Stars with the bashing of QA. And from the looks of things, I was right. There were some really great informative issues being discussed for a while, and things were nice. To me, whether MT or QA, the ones that just hop on and share some perceived QA error just irks me. First, usually the outraged MT is wrong, or only giving part of the story, and second, its pointless, really. Just gets us all out of a dialoging mode and into name-calling, hair-pulling spit fests. Now the focus is off the true problem, our employer, and on each other. Next, some QA will start a thread on how stupid MTs are, etc. As an earlier QA had stated, sometimes its best to just trust QA and let us do our jobs. Many of us know what we're doing, and we also don't have the time or the permission to contact the MTs with each little change we had to do to a report.QASAR allows feedback, and I personally try to always give an explanation or a little message, but sadly, the MTs who do need to read the feedback comments ignore it anyway. So, the conscientious professional MTs read it, and they aren't the ones really needing it either! QA is a tough job and getting tougher daily at MQ. We have the cesspool as well, with final responsibility for all jobs in our pool, and a new QASAR dumped on us overnight. It ain't easy. Just saying...
villan to villain [2008-06-06]
Okay, I'll cop out to misspelling villain. . .late at night and all that. . .However, my original post was in reply to an MT complaining about QA leaving out which acetabuli was which. I was pretty certain it was not in reference to protrusio acetabuli but rather to the plural of acetabulum. I could be totally wrong here of course as well, but in the 16 years I've been in this business, I think I've run across the protrusio abnormality about twice. As a result, it didn't enter my apparently feeble brain. Mea culpa.
