Thank God for spell check! [2008-11-26]
Thank God spell check caught this. I just typed count without the O!. Time to make an Expander for that one!

There with you. My check is almost $400 less s/m [2008-11-25]
than it was just acouple months ago. Do they really think we can live off this????? I am so depressed! ARGH!!
My check is consistently $100 less per PP now....sm [2008-11-25]
I started ASR in August and now I'm losing $200 a month. Beginning next week is ANOTHER pay cut. Yes, I'm thankful I still have a job while others are losing theirs. But please GIVE ME A BREAK!! I can't afford Christmas this year, I'm just struggling to pay the bills. I don't know what to do.
better check that out [2008-11-25]
Many times industries are allowed to go below minimum wage, such as servers and the like. In some states because MT is paid on a line count basis as opposed to hourly, they are allowed to go below minimum hourly wage.

I feel for ya, my check didn't come (sm) [2008-11-13]
today either and I just checked and my account was in the hole, so I had to scrounge up enough money to make it good. I was counting on my check to be in there on time (like it usually is).
I finally got my check in the mail today (sm) [2008-11-13]
but too late to get to the bank. Will have to go to the bank when they first open in the morning.
Check [2008-11-13]
My check was 3 days late this week.
Thanks, I'll check it out later when I have some extra time. [2008-11-12]
I appreciate your help!
haven't gotten my snail mail check yet either! [2008-11-12]
I am soooo not amused at this! They are finally jumping on my last nerve and I am about to have a major meltdown!
My paper check has still not made it to me and my mail [2008-11-12]
has already run for the day. I'm in a race against time on whether my check will come tomorrow or my bills will come through my bank before then.
Why don't the ASR people have to check these reports themselves? - sm [2008-11-11]
They should be required to go through x amount of them per day and see the idiotic errors themselves instead of making us go through and send emails showing them the errors. If THEY had the responsibility, perhaps - just perhaps - the problems would be solved a bit more readily. I'm so tired of correcting bradycardiac and fa teeg (saw that one today) and dictashun and facette and 6 ate for 68 and p egg (PEG) and Pro b and P (pro-BNP); the list is now endless. These never used to exist. I think Indians are programming ESR; just MHO, but I'm very angry about it.

Pay check [2008-11-08]
Well, my check is usually in the bank on Saturday morning if it falls on a Monday. Guess what, mines not there, and I bank with Huntington. I am not happy!!!!
Did not get my check either, mine is a large bank [2008-11-08]
Chase JP Morgan. I still say it could be government issues and money not flowing properly, especially after listening to O speak yesterday and the government THINKING of letting 3 American car companies go bankrupt, Mortgage companies still having a credit freeze and so on. Dang, NEVER, NEVER had this problem before. My bank ALWAYS, ALWAYS deposits so early and on time. If there isadeposit pending, they want it right away. I guess the bank is too huge. Curious to see if otherswritein and see ifit islargeor smallbanks having problems.

What service area are you in? I'm wondering if the new CCM did not get our time cards in on time and that is messing this up for some. You know... [2008-12-04]
The sad part about this post isn't that you don't hospitals have the ability to send or not send whatever they want, the sad part is you come on with this attitude that you know absolutely everything...and in reality you know nothing.
I see your point, but. . . [2008-12-03]
I'll make a note to check whether or not the report is ASR--new one on me. However, my biggest gripe about the expansion is how long ittakes me to fix each and every one with QASAR. We can't go in and do a search and replace. Oh well. Call the wahmbulance! And thanks for the ASR info. Learn somthin' new every day.
your wrong [2008-12-03]
Please double check your CP. This is changing. I work as QA and have noticed in the new accounts I have been given that certain CP are requesting this to be expanded.
found this thread from a community forum regarding offshoring. This is said so perfectly. sm [2008-12-02]
http://www.crn.com/channelcommunity/forum.jspa?forumID=13
Then, check out the last thread HIPAA and outsourcing medical records. I think the person who posted this said exactly what many of us feel, and points to the crucial aspects that we should address with our state reps, senators, etc. I think many should again address this issue with Lou Dobbs of CNN. His website offers email for topics of discussion on shows. HIPAA needs to make some drastic changes IMHO as well. It seems the Veterans Administration is no longer tolerating offshoring of patient medical records. In addition, the major insurance carriers should also be made aware of their insured patients' medical records leaving the country (Aetna, Medicare, Medicaid, and many of the big HMOs). I truly believe that many insurance companies, physician practices, hospitals, and patients have no idea when their confidential medical records are being produced outside of the country. I think everyone has the right to know.
Yeah, I understand why [2008-12-02]
you would take issue with the words.
Just make sure you have something in there that says you will no longer work as of that date. Also, you might want to request your PTO pay, as they are SUPPOSED to cut you a check for the balance of that. I think I remember in there somewhere that they want your equipment returned, if you have any, before that. If you need to return equipment, make sure you have tracking numbers, etc. to prove it. They tried telling me once they didn't receive something back when they replaced my PC and I had to prove it to them.
One set of stuff they sent me the labels and everything [2008-12-02]
The second set of stuff I actually had to pay for, insurance and all. I was NOT a happy camper about it as they sent me not 1, but 2 computers that did not work. It is not cheap to ship computer equipment, especially if you have to insure them. I did get it straightened out finally.
If they do not pay you for your PTO before you do all that, they should not be able to take your hours. You quit as of whatever date and they have to give you time to return the equipment. Don't really hang on expecting that check to spend for Christmas though.
I changed from full-time to part time once before and it took them at least 30 days to get me the PTO--that was before PT could have PTO time. It came as a live check not direct deposit as well.
QA getting paid no matter what [2008-12-01]
I think you misspoke when you said QA gets paid their hourly wage no matter what. QA is also on production, in case you didn't know that, and for them to stay clocked in is as bad as an MT staying clocked in with no work. Check your facts.
Not capitalized [2008-11-30]
Unless it is a proper name as in name of clinic, i.e. You Name It Infectious Disease Clinic. As a general rule, hospital disciplinary services are not capitalized. This may vary (check the CP)..but if they don't request it, I don't put it. I've been in this business for many years and I've never run across a facility yet that wanted the services capitalized. The only time I cap an inhouse service is if it is used a stand-alone discipline like Anesthesia. I would cap that so as to distinguish between it being patient received anesthesia and the service itself.
When will anything EVER turn on the suits? [2008-11-30]
with the reality being that the suits at MQ just keep taking and taking and taking and slashing and slashing and punishing and punishing, and taking and taking, giving you all NOTHING, and yet you stay. Its really to the point of embarrassing for you all. YOU are the only ones who can turn anything around on MQ. They are fine, as you all just stay here, whine on internet forums and work, and work, and work. Nothing will ever hurt them as long as you all continue to LET them play their disgusting games. How can you ponder on something that is only in your own power to change? As long as you all stay, you support these games 100%. All the complaining and posturing won't do 1 thing to hurt MQ.
I've always done this in the past and never [2008-11-29]
had a problem before. I stay logged into DQS and check my computer every few minutes but don't clock in to E-time until actual work is available. Then when I finish the available work, I clock out of E-time and wait on more work. My thought is that if I'm not logged in, the chance of there being work when I log in randomly is much less likely than if I stayed logged in.
I called and got a ticket# and sm. [2008-11-29]
emailed the ticket # to my CCM. I'm only scheduled 3 hours today, so I'll check back in to see if there's work. I always immediately get a ticket # when there's no work on the system to cover myself. If there's work in an hour or two, fine. If not, I'll email her at the end of my so-called shift and let her know there was nothing on the system and at least get downtime pay. Better than nothin' I suppose. Sigh..
I went back through my old emails [2008-11-29]
and the one I was thinking of was from my old supervisor, stating we cannot be clocked off and logged into DQS, but when I re-read it, it was in regards to working on DQS and not being logged into e-time where it looks like you are making more lines per hour than you truly are, did not find one stating anything about no work availability. BUT, but my old sup also mentioned in that email that it is best to just clock out of DQS and clock back on every so often to re-check instead of staying on, so it seems was her suggestion that I was remembering.
:)
confused on no work policy, sm [2008-11-28]
Every supervisor I've had seems to handle this no jobs available thing differently. I know to call support and get a ticket #, which I do every time, and then email it to my CCM. I don't think it's fair that because there's no work that we have to use our PTO to cover the day or just sit around all day and check the system constantly to see if there's work. I'm being told that I have to either make up time or use PTO. Is this right? Just wanting input from others on how they have been told to handle the no jobs available situation. I don't want to use my PTO just 'cause there's no work and I don't think that's fair either. Opinions, anyone? Thanks.
PTO/out of work [2008-11-28]
No, I don't think it is fair either to have to use PTO when there is not work. I want to use my PTO when I want to. After all you had to stay home all day, could not leave because you had to check for work all day. Does not sound like a day off to me
Being told to either use PTO or sm. [2008-11-28]
check back in periodically all day today for work. This is ridiculous. I inquired about taking today off with NO pay, NO PTO and was told that wasn't an option -- either make up time or take PTO. Infuriating...
Procedure for low earnings due to lack of work...sm [2008-11-28]
Filing for partial unemployment
You are partially unemployed when you are hired as a full-time employee, and you are still on your employer’s payroll, but that employer cannot give you full-time work. Unless you are claiming Extended Benefits (see Filing for Extended Benefits), you are not required to look for another job or take a job offered by another employer. When filing partial claims, you are to use a special claim form, Initial Claim/Low Earnings Report (LER), which is provided by your regular employer. In all other respects, total and partial unemployment are the same. Once you set up a benefit year, you may file claims for weeks of either total or partial unemployment during that year. The following procedures apply to claims for partial benefits.
Your employer gives you an Initial Claim/Low Earnings Report (LER) for any weeks that full-time work was not available. (A LER may be issued for either one or two weeks of partial unemployment.)
Your employer is required to issue a LER not later than the payday for the week(s) of low earnings.
The LER is your claim for partial benefits. (Do not use the claim form that comes with your benefit check to file for partial benefits.) To file your claim, you must complete the bottom part of the LER and then file the complete form with your local office within ten (10) days following the day you received it. If you delay filing, you may lose your right to benefits. (NOTE: The Low Earnings Report cannot be filed by telephone or via the Internet. Also, do not file until after the week(s) of partial unemployment shown on your LER.)
You must report any work you had with other employers during the week(s) on your LER. You also must report any self-employment and any other income not shown on the LER. If you are a corporate officer or have other business interests, you must report such activities when you file.
You must have been available for all work your regular employer had to offer. You may be denied benefits if you had low earnings for any reason other than lack of work.
Your benefit payment will be reduced by earnings or any other deductible income you had, in the same manner as if you were filing for total unemployment. (See How income affects benefits.)
If you have a benefit year in effect, you can always file your partial claim by mail. Whenever possible, you should file a new claim in person, especially if this is your first experience with the unemployment compensation program. You always must file a new claim in person when either one of the following situations applies to you:
You worked outside West Virginia during any part of the base period. (You may need to file an Interstate or Combined Wage Claim -- see Filing combined wage claims and Filing interstate claims.)
You were on active military duty or worked for the federal government during any part of the base period. See Filing for benefits based on federal civilian employment (UCFE) or Filing for military benefits (UCX).
You must file a new claim in person when either of these situations applies because you will not receive credit for such employment unless you bring the necessary information to your local office. (The information we need is explained on the pages referred to previously.) If your claim is processed by mail, your weekly benefit will be based only on wages reported during your base period by West Virginia employers.
NOTE: You are responsible for the accuracy of all information on a Low Earnings Report. Examine each LER carefully before you file it. If your employer listed your earnings incorrectly or didn’t include other payments made during the week(s) on the report, do not file your claim until the employer corrects the error. Also, make certain that your name and Social Security number are shown correctly, and that the employer properly signed and dated the form. You are liable to repay any overpayment of benefits that results from incorrect information on a Low Earnings Report
I agree QA is not always right [2008-11-28]
but that becomes their problem after I submit it. I do not fret about QA changing things to something that is wrong - I do double check anything that I think is wrong (not that it happens very often), document the information supporting my position and email my QKL to verify.
Conference call [2008-11-27]
I got it and will ignor it. I really do not think anything is going to change. I did the ASR survey and I think the survey told them what people did not like about ASR and changes that would make it easier and nothing came of it. I also think they have received plenty of feedback with this new pay cut.The conference calls are nothing more than trying to make us think they are listening and that our input makes a difference. If that were true, there would be no need for the conference calls as they have already gotten plenty of feedback about ASR. Bottom line is that ASR will never work until the dictators start dictating properly for ASR, which we all know is never going to happen, they can figure a way to get ASR to format according to CP, and take bad dictators off ASR, another thing that will never happen.
They already know what is wrong with ASR, they have had enough input. The name of the game is money and they are not going to let go of any more money for the MTs. They only look at people with the gravy ASR accounts to get their *statistics* to justify pay cuts and not the reality of the overall picture.
I am sorry to be so negative, was not always like this and really fairly happy at the Q until recently when I found out that all my accounts are PAYING THE SAME RATE AS STRAIGHT TRANSCRIPTIONon top ofthe news about the further cut in pay. I had been led to believe it was the clients driving the pay down, but my CCM told me that some clients pay less for ASR and some pay the same rate as regular, and my accounts all pay the same rate regardless. I have many years in this business and not getting paid for my knowledge and experience for ASRis very depressing. I get about 90% ASR and am one of thethose losing money on it.
Flame away if you like, but walk in my shoes for a shift and see what kind of attitude you come away with.
???? [2008-11-27]
Thanks. I'm thinking - ok so now they check their credit cards and put their financial report in the medical records.
I called 800# [2008-11-27]
I called800# and got a ticket number. I asked them what happens next. They told me to email my supervisor and tell her and she would check into finding work. I told her my supervisor was out until next Tuesday and did not leave a coverage person/number. So I went and found the two managers above her and emailed them as well with my ticket number. I dont anticipate hearing anything back, but at least I followed the procedure.
This is what I have been told. [2008-11-27]
I was told if you are scheduled to work on the holiday, we have to work unless preapproved time off.
If you are workingas scheduled and receiveNO JOB AVAILABLE, call800 number and open ticket.May use PTO or check back later in 2-4 hours to make up time. If workcontinues to be low,IWILL BE CONSIDERED EXCUSED FOR THE DAY.I am to email ticket number and let him know if I will be using PTO or make up time.
If I amNOT scheduled, do not work because do not want to take away work from others.

I often wonder if it is legal too as my [2008-11-26]
supe pulls the same crap. Days like this instead of getting off at 5 PM I work until about 7 PM. There were a few times I called to get a ticket # and they would not give me one saying work would be coming in soon. I am going to check this out with the Labor Board as it is not our fault they run out of work and we should not have them demand that we make up the time or even take PTO for that matter. We should get paid downtime and that's that.
overtime approved? [2008-11-25]
You are kidding me? Been in cesspool all morning. Wow, what BS. I doubt there should be work Thanksgiving afternoon, I would not think, if we are cleaning, but that sucks that we do not know until we can punch in and check, just to ruin the whole day. I hate having to work holidays, family all leaves me, then no work
Check out the BOS (book of S*#@+) haha in a.m. and get an idea.
Tier 4 [2008-11-24]
Not sure I sent this right. I was told I was a Tier 4 at one time and when I inquired later, I was told there were no Tier 4s, Tier 3 was the highest. I have been typing ops and procedure notes for the past several months and now that I am getting used to them, I really like it. Is there a difference in pay for op notes?. If so, I need to check this out.
