documented [2008-05-16]
I know the higest pay scale was documenged way back in that fancy dancy Harmony book we got a while back but I misplaced it. I thought that 9.75 cents or 10 cents a line was the highest for tier 3 MTs. Just wondering if anyone knows for sure.

poor cat - don't worry - you documented [2008-02-21]

Documented until blue in the face. No results. Lip service. nm [2007-07-12]

Yes, I have documented them a number [2007-07-12]
of times. Same problems over and over. I was told the ASR would compare a fixed job to the original job and then would learn the errors and fix them. Told tech. Told my PS. Told her boss. Nada.

I personally believe it's also to get the serial #s they never documented. [2006-07-19]
The office I worked in as recruiter did not record anything regarding the equipment for many years. It was just put in a box and shipped out. And that's a fact, Jack ; )

Back up plans need to be standardized and documented [2006-07-05]
in a policies and procedures manual, not made up on the spot by each individual MT and her PS every time there is a potential for no work. Why would a PS want to have a detailed conversation with each and every MT assigned to her, when the rules are supposed to be standardized across the company?

You are very very wrong about that. I dont make up things. This is very well documented. [2006-01-21]

I'm glad you are having good luck, but my experience is [2008-11-26]
totally opposite. A typical experience for me is, as an example, and I documented this: 5 minute report - 60 corrections which includes words, punctuation and formatting that I had to do. This took me almost 20 minutes, and that does not count the nearly 5 minutes it took to enter the cc's with their dictated addresses. There are dream ASR accounts out there. I have experienced a few reports from such accounts out of my area when my area ran out of work. It makes me cry to know there are indeed great ASR accounts out there (which I do not have), but we all get paid the same whether it is a dream account of absolute crap.

This is very very odd....sm [2008-10-29]
When I hit F9 this morning to check my line count for my first few hours, the lines recorded are doubled. Every report I do is being documented twice. So, I went back and looked at each day for this whole payperiod, and all of the reports are being recorded twice and thus the line count doubled. Everything was fine when I finished my shift yesterday. Anyone else having this problem?

Apparently needs clarification [2008-10-22]
The people who post...*most on this board do nothing but complain to each other. That really doesn't accomplish anything..if you really want to acomplish something maybe you should go beyond yourselves...how many of you have..* HELLLLOOO? T H I S IS A F O R U M. QA [2008-10-16]
They would know what region they were working for, as in our work and our North, East, West, or South. I am sure that overseas has their own documented account that would show up.

Couldn't sleep. Doing research. Tell me I'm wrong, please. [2008-10-15]
MKay, everybody. I hope someone can tellme I'm incorrect, paranoid, and/or just too sleepy and worried to make sense of what I've read tonight. Google cbay +medquist +WARN +mass layoff +plant closing Came up with: http://google.brand.edgar-online.com/EFX_dll/EDGARpro.dll?FetchFilingHtmlSection1?SectionID=5956052-14277-362649SessionID=3qZiWHsaa9b4ms7 Seems to be some official document having to do w/Cbay purchase of MedQuist. I could be wrong and hope I am because I didn't read the whole thing - plus, I'm not a lawyer and probably wouldn't understand much of it anyway. On that document, check out page 25, section 4.01. Read that paragraph then go to page 28, section (xviii) under section 4.01. NOW, check out: http://www.dol.gov/compliance/guide/layoffs.htm and read about WARN. This would make sense to me as to why the working conditions (i.e., change after change, lack of work, nit-picking, etc.) have declined dramatically recently - to get as many people to leave on their own, whypeople are getting counseled and written up for doing the same thing they've done for years withoutbeingcounseled orwritten up for before - so they have adocumented reason to can people, andwhy the layoffs/restructuringare happening gradually - so as not to have too many involvedat once so it's not a mass layoff and stays quite legal. It's 2:30 in the morning, I'm annoyed/confused/worried/madder than he** and I hope I'm wrong. I REALLY like working for MQ and Idon't want to be a crap starter, either, but seems pretty fishy to me. Watcha think?

I know, I know... it is hard, but here's what you can do...sm [2008-09-09]
Sorry to sound harsh, but like the old saying -- hundreds of wrongs don't make it right. Some of the QA today were not taught correctly either and YOU can help teach everyone so these contradictions can stop. Starting today, don't assume anything past QA have taught you is correct, unless you have previously looked it up and know for a fact that you could document if you get dinged on it. That way, whenever you get dinged, you can show your documention of where you found it (from a reliable source that is!), and then ask them to document the way they did it. If both can be documented, then both are acceptable and QA should leave well enough alone as it is a preference thing... of course, with the exception of a CP preference, which will overrule any personal preference. In this particular thread regarding hyphenating xx-year-old... If anyone can document anywhere that not hyphenating xx-year-old when used as a noun or with an implied subject, then yes, it can be done that way. If your QA can't document that (and I don't believe she will be able to), then she needs to begin doing it the right way and not her preferred way. Using xx-year-old versus xx year old is not a preference, xx-year-old is the correct way, unless it is stated as a preference by the client. End of story. Always document and always ask for documentation of any feedback you get that you can't document. QA will eventually learn after they are called on to document a few things that maybe they don't always know the right way to do things either. We all need to do this because this kind of discussion is a waste of our time and wouldn't even be necessary if MTs would have been trained properly in the first place, and MQ hasn't been a great place to learn either because they don't care whether their QA are properly trained or not, which only perpetuates shoddy performance. Good luck to you.

QA [2008-08-29]
Please spend less time on your hobby. We already have to provide proof for every single blank we fill in that it can be documented as the correct word, the correct spelling, the correct dose. With proof of where we found the doctors name, proof that is his real credential, real address, that we really are not trying to get you fired. Are you trying to get us fired? THAT is time consuming.

LOL - not laughing at you, that just struck me funny [2008-08-12]
My QKL or whatever they are once told me not to sweat it when QA is wrong because what you typed is documented as you typed it and what gets sent to client and changed by QA in on QA. So I personally dont sweat the small stuff that QA changes or puts incorrectly.

Policy [2008-08-08]
L- I haven't read that recently, but I trust what you are saying is true. I think it's not listed there because it's sort of known that one doesn't punch in while not working. At the very least, a documented e-mail to your supervisor was in order, whether or not you thought he/she was going to respond. It would have been a piece of paper to defend yourself.

Sounds like MQ is now cleaning house for slackers. [2008-08-07]
Kumar is not a man to mess around, huh? Seems to me that many of these who had -- no idea -- about any of these rules are probably the many MTs who bragged on here daily that they would NEVER sign up for MQ email, never do MQ Central, and never bother to read anything from the PS. They were so proud of their rebellious attitudes, though we all knew it was more of a shoot-yourself-in-the-foot immaturity. Well, sounds like now they are cleaning house and at least in this case, this MT has no one but herself to blame. Again, I agree lucky if no legal repercussions, as falsifying time cards is a huge offense, even once, let alone 3 months!! I used to do payroll for a huge company with a time clock for the employees, and they had cameras installed at the clock. Each payroll I had to go thru hours and hours of tape, verifying that everyone matched their time cards punched, as its an old trick to have others punch for you, etc. This was 25 years ago, so its been around a long time. Our company was a Japanese firm, and they would quietly fire the people who did this, but then fight them in court if these same people dared to file unemployment. Companies don't mess around with this, virtual or in house, and I don't blame them. And this is a direct result of the MTs who worked overtime on purpose and got paid for it, but because it was not documented on time cards, they later sued for it. Can't have our cake and eat it, too. Again, I can't stand MQ, but in this case, they are right.

Titles Enclosed [2008-08-05]
As of August 6, 2008, he is documented as: Venu Raman Kumar, age 47, current Executive Chairman and proposed Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CBay Systems), and Robert Aqualina, is the Proposed Chairman. I believe he is the one we are stating is the new CEO? Seems somebody better tell Kumar, as he is in #1 slot and seems to think he is in control! LOL.

Cbay is making an investment [2008-08-01]
Cbay has bought shares of MedQuist. Not taking over MedQuist. This is an investment for Cbay. There is way too many reading between the lines and accusations here that are just not legitimate. Blame MQ for all the problems regarding you cut in pay, ASR, etc., but when you start looking at other services, they are moving in the same direction as MQ business wise. It is a changing world people with a lot of insecurities with any jobs out there. Nothing is a for sureanywhere you may work. In a nutshell, which has been pretty documented numerous times, MQ and Cbay willcontinue to be two different entities. I agree with whatothers have posted on this board, if things are so awfully bad for guys, move on to greener pastures and find peace within yourself. Find a happy place for gosh sakes. I

You can agree with Sherry but if you aren't prepared for MQ India, you may be without a job. [2008-07-31]
Those who explore other work based on the new owner is TELLING you in artaicle below versus what MQ is telling you will have the best jobs in American owned companies. Those who choose to stay with MQ until your job is actually given to the INDIANWORKERS by the INDIAN OWNER because it is more economical for him may not have the opportunity to pick and choose a good position with an American owned company. The writing is on the wall (and documented in article below.) The new owner-to-be, a successful Indian businessman, has stated his intentions as far as staffing MQ. Thereis no guess work involved for MQMTs.

e-mails [2008-07-21]
Gee--settle down. These are documented in e-mails that we receive from the PS that all of his MT and QA employees receive which he sends a cc to his upper management so I do not think there is any violation of anything as no names are given. In a discussion I had with the PS, I asked if this was a real big issue and the response was that sometimes a big portion of the day for the PS is documenting and calling the individuals to find a reason or resolution to their noncompliance issues. The PS sends out forewarnings and what some of the consequences have been to all of us. Chill!

MetLife [2008-07-18]
Are you actually getting a deal with MetLife car insurance? I inquired and even with our employee discount, they were extremely higher than my car insurance (Progressive) with the exact same coverage, approximately $300 more every 6 months for the 2 vehicles I needed coverage. I have been dealing with MetLife with my short-term disability. It has been a nightmare. Right after my surgery while I am bedridden they are asking me to get additional information from my doctor and that they need this and that even though I sent all required paper work before my surgery. I get threatening letters say if they do not have documentation on certain things they will have to deny my claim, etc., even though my doctor has faxed all the paper work necessary. Ridiculous company if you ask me!! This is a benefit I pay for out of every pay check, and when I have a legitimate medical leave that is documented, they still threaten to deny my claim.

no health insurance [2008-07-18]
MetLife does not have health insurance through MQ. We are talking disability insurance. I had an abdominal hysterectomy documented and submitted by my doctor. It has been almost 3 weeks and I just today got confirmation that they have accepted my claim after jumping through umpteen hoops but only for 4 weeks even though I am written off for 4-6 weeks as she says usually a follow-up appointment is in 4 weeks. I told her my follow-up appointment is not until the middle of my 6th week. Now she says after my 4th week I need to have more paper work submitted. I called my doctor and she will only, if that is if I am feeling better, let me work 4 hours a day in two shifts until she sees me. Who is the certified MD here, MetLife or my actually doctor.

tell your PS you will be off on the dates you want off. Then take off. [2008-07-15]
Make your reservations and go. At least you have documented your vacation time. MQ can send the work you do not do during your vacation to the cesspool or offshore. Have fun.

those expansions do work [2008-07-12]
You just have to know how to maneuver them and not be too concerned about R markers and all the other bunk..if you know what I mean. ASR is junQ and we have to deal with it. And I have. I'm a long-timer..so there goes that theory. lol. I'm fortunate in that way..I've learned over the years to find the shortcuts. I'm basically lazy and it has always worked for me. Lazy in work..top notch in professionalism. I do what it takes to get the job done right with the least amount of errors and the least amount of work. I don't mean to come off as sounding like a know-it-all. I'm not that...I learn (or at least try to) something new every day. It's the only thing that keeps this job interesting...and there ain't no rung at the top of that ladder. I'm looking for #1 money and #2 satisfaction. And, I try to keep the communication open and keep up to date on what's happening (really happening..things that can be documented). If I have a question about something, I ask and try my best to get it clarified. My PS and QA Sup are absolutely wonderful. They're the best I've ever had. That gives me hope that somebody somewhere higher up the rung is really listening. Those that didn't in the past are no longer with the Q and I'm not calling names..but that's the way I see it. The no-return calls and no questions answered was for the birds. Most people in supervisory positions always have someone over them and they don't want to escalate..if they're any good at their job. Mine is. I'm lucky in that way. I hope she stays. I've been through my share (and it's interesting in the people you run across that have bounced around with the company)...so I always try not to step on anybody's shoes..especially mine...since my position is right where it's always going to be. Sorry for the rambling...I'm in a tangent. Like tonight was horrible...it always is on Friday night. Why? Why me?..and then I ask myself..why not me? I usually always have great work during the week. Time about is fair play. It's all a game...Just enjoy what you can out of it. That's my take and I'm sticking to it. :) Jude..rambling

I found on Qnet that all MT's are required to learn and MT and ME, also [2008-04-12]
new hires are required to learn both. (Yes, we all know that a few who are lucky are getting away with not having to do ME). What I cannot find in writing whywe are deducted 30% for ME. I hear a lot about it, but I do not see it in writinganywhere. I also thought a few months ago or a year ago it was more or less? I believe it is in the manual, but I thought it was supposed to be posted on Qnet. Does anyone know where it is documented in writing (besides manual)so I can send this to someone who might be able to fight for our wages. Also in my state, it says I am required a 10 minute break paid by employee after two hours and yet I thought we were supposed to sit and type away and if we need to take a break, then we are to punch out so it will not hurt our production. Correct me if I am wrong, but sounds like a . . . . well, I do not want to start anything.Justgetting my facts together to get ready to fight for us.

I agree with your 12-hour window, but (sm) [2008-02-23]
The 40-hour work week has to be documented for legal purposes. MQ was sued in the past by MTs for overtime (before eTime), so MQ (and other companies as well) set up systems of documenting time. Now, why we just can't have a 10-12 hour window to do 8 hours of work is beyond me considering the nature and logistics of this job. Even if one punches in and out 10 times a day, but does their 8 hours, it seems like it would save us all (including PSs and the impact center) a lot of grief. But the bottom line is eTime or some form of punching in and out is not going anywhere.

not really [2008-02-22]
I get the impression in discussing this with management that when DQS and E-time are not correlating at the same time is when they get an alert or some type of documentation and I also assume they can tell if you are idol in DQS when correlating with E-time, BUT I am getting the impression this is only when there is an extended period of time not just 5-15 minutes. In my case, the week in question I had an incident where I needed to make and receive phone calls regarding a medical problem in the family and they were lengthy phone calls. They were not just questioning a few minutes here or there, it was 45 minutes to over an hour on some days. I think MQ wants and expects us to spend some time looking up words and addresses for accuracy, so I do not want to get some of you paranoid over nothing regarding my situation. Again, this was documented 3 times in one week for me--so I feel after talking to management they had a legitimate concern looking into my E-time and DQS use and questioning the issue. Hope I put some of your minds at ease.

called me [2008-02-22]
My PS called me to address the situation that was documented apparently by someone--did not ask who. Otherwise I do not chit-chat with my PS. I do not think any of them have the time with all the MTs they have to cover.

Impact Room [2008-02-19]
I have gottentwo calls from the Impact Room. First they had my wrong schedule andthe second time they still had the wrongschedule. Both calls they were very polite and apologized. It sure is not a job I would want.I just do not think they are getting the correct information and apparently their technology is lacking if they are calling some of you and you are logged into E-time and they are saying you are not. I was, however, able to indicate to the Impact Room that they need not call me to work extra hours as I will only work the extra hours when I know work is available on my primary account as that is where I make the money and I know when we are not meeting our TAT. They documented this and I have not heard anything since then. I am just thinking MQ wants us to be accountable for ourhours and maybe some individuals have made complaints that they want to know when they can work extra hours when their PS is not available. Personally, I am working harder knowingindividuals are out there watching my ins and outs. Same thing would happen if we were working in-house--maybe not the calls regarding us to work extra during the times we are not scheduled to work. The Impact Room employees I consider my coworkers and I like to treat them with some respect as they are only doing what is asked of them. I am sure they dread each phone calling wondering what type of feedback they will receive--negative or positive. Again--not a job I would want.

Your not the only one (sm) [2008-01-25]
I let it go last time because I did not have documentation, but this time I documented EVERYTHING, every line count every day, and I made sure to work EXTRA HOURS every week, to be sure there was no problem. I got nothing! I'm glad to know they finally made yours right last time, as I never stir things up, but I am going to get an explanation this time, as every single day I can verify. Let me know what happens with you, and I will too.....

Feel your pain [2008-01-09]
Make note in QA box *dictator effect* as reasons for blanks--don't waste time on anything that's unintelligible. QA will experience same dictator effect on listening and it will be documented. Better to at least try and muddle through it, since it did come to you. :)
