If I got even a $0.025 raise every year I would be making over $0.11 a line, over the maximum allowed. On the other hand, I have gotten raises, but only because I have been a very squeaky wheel. The problem that I have had is having multiple supervisors over the past several years, seldom having one long enough for them to get to know me before they were replaced. If you are confident in the quality of your work and up to date with all the latest BOS and MQ guidelines, step up and ask for what you want. I have done this severak times over the last year, sometimes having to be very persistent, but in the end have gotten everything I have asked for.

the house. I worked years ago for a company who fired a woman because she was going to be late to work and had her friend punch her in at the clock. It resulted in immediate dismissal. All we hear is how bad MQ is, and they have their side to things, too. In this case I completely agree. It is horribly unfair to the rest of us.

Being Exploited post, Verifying line counts post, What is going on here I am shocked post as MT's are running out of work, accounts outsourcing, etc., it seems quite a few MT's are also having problems working with other companies as some of the big companies do tend to copy each other's work ethics. Us MT's need to do something.

Hi Everyone, I've worked for Medquist twice and each time I quit because of having multiple accounts. The last time I quit I had over 25 different accounts. Can anyone tell me if they're still doing this? I'm considering working for them again. I've always been able to make more money with them than with any other company I've gone to work for. Even then, results can be spun. Remember the national cesspool is because of MTs complaining of running out of work and so they created the national MQ cesspool in response to our complaints. That's quite a spin on MQ part.

Remember based on surveys, they changed the bonus system to their benefit but blamed it on the MTs feedback. They also blamed the national MQ cesspool on MTs complaints of running out of work. That cesspool benefits no one but MQ but they made it seem it was a favor to MTs. Just like they spun the results of ASR production so it seemed as if everyone was more productive thus justifying a cut in pay.

I have been an MT at Medquist for over 15 years and I make a very good living. Last year I earned just over 70K and I am on the same path for this year and I do ASR too! If you take the time to embrace the change rather than always fight it, then you have a better chance at success!! My suggestion would be to stop whining, stop trying to cause drama and for goodness sake, if you are going to state what is wrong with the indsutry do it with fact not emotion!! It is a sad day for all MTs, when people are out there stating what a poorly respected profession it is, when it is each indidividual that drives the respect they give and receive !!

A lot of companies don't even supply the equipment. It's a benefit/perk and it doesn't belong to you, any morethan if you were in an office using company equipment. Now, if they asked you to purchase the computer from them, that's a different story. All this complaining is going to backfire some day and they'll make us start putting out the hundreds for the computer, so I wouldn't complain too loudly.

This survey was requested by MQ to see how they are doing as a company. Also there are other companies participating for the Best Places to Work in Healthcare-Employee Survey. Even MQ had to fill out a survey to participate in this program.EVERYTHINGwill beconfidential, so be honest in your answers. There were about 400 surveys sent out to MQ employees. Then after all the surveys are completed and turned in, an analyst will review and then rate the best to worsetranscription companies. Thisis what I was told from the Best Companies Group.

I just started another company who uses DocQscribe, but not QASAR. All the feedback is sent via e-mail. I prefer the QASAR much better. Easier to view, stay within the same program, feedback is a lot faster, and more standardized. I never thought I would say I like QASAR.

Retrofit [2008-08-17]
Does anyone know what happened to the retrofit MQ was supposedly going to be doing? I know a few accounts are on it, but it's a long way from being utilized in a big way. I have been one of those peoplewho have stated that it's really not going to happen, but I actually almost got my hopes up when people told me I have a bad attitude. My viewpoint is that the client wishes come first, and there is no gosh darn way we can get all the clients to agree on one way of doing things. I understand that with the retrofit, there would be some exceptions, but MQ has too many clients to even think that a standard (with those exceptions) would even work. This client wants patient name in report, this one doesn't. This client wants referring physician in Optional ADT, this one doesn't. This client wants dates spelled out, this one doesn't (unless it's dictated spelled out, except for dictator so-and-so.) We all know the drill, MTs as well as QASs.

At one point, I made $25 per hour doing this type of work and now just over minimum wage, and it these companies are ripping me off, I want a piece of my pie and EXCUSE ME for trying to get some. So, you can laugh and make jokes while I spend a little time and effort that might pay off for me and you'll be sitting their in your work.

I finally got fed up enough, went to MTJobs.com, applied at 10 places, got 8 replies, picked the best company that suited my needs and finally climbed out of the cesspool. I started on my new job today. New platform and only 1 day of training and 20 reports to QA and I was released. I made almost twice as many lines on my first day than I would have with MQ because the platform is fantastic andthe voice recognition is a walk in the park. People answer when you email them too! I actually got a call from the MQimpact center this afternoon and I was like, I'm sorry, but I quit and my last day was Friday. They didn't even know. Go for it!

My pay check kept going down and down, about $1000 a month. So I finally bit the bullet and gave notice the end of June and my last day was July 10, then I took myself out for a long weekend of day spa, shopping, and a 2-night stay in a hotel BY MYSELF. Then started a new job July 14. Good change. Actually got an account that I had previously worked on at MQ. Guess they are all seeing the light and moving to different services also. It just happened to be one of those in the cesspool for MQ though. But as of next week I am getting a new account, which will have the OP reports I have been waiting for. Have to say though that the pay right now is not a whole lot better than my last months at MQ, but then I think that is the way it is going to be all over from now on. So congratulations to all of you that have made the move, and good luck to those still left, and wishing they could make the move. It will all turn out for the best. If this company does not work out, and I should have a better idea in the next month or so, after I get more established in a new account, I will be leaving this profession after 35 years and going to an out of the home job working as a health aid in my mom's assisted living apartment. Ican make about the same wages I am getting now, busting my butt, and I will actually enjoy the job. Still love to come into this forum and read all the chats and sit back and smile because I AM OUT OF HERE.

I got a message on my machine to call my supervisor regarding my production as I was just shy of the requirement. She is wanting me to work more hours. Heck, I work a FT job and this is just an extra job (that was supposed to be flexible...HA!)to supplement income, but I'm tired of being harrassed to work more. yep, pretty much right -- if you're not typing and on the clock it's cutting into the line count and that's what just gets my goat when I've taken an hour to do one of those DICK-TADER'S reports and have to go all the way back thru to try to knock out a bunch of those 20-50 blanks (sure did send a few with 50+ blanks). there's been time when it's just pissed me off so much that I'll send it without going back thru as I think what's the use and besides I'll spend another 15 minutes or so trying to figure out a word and there goes my line count down the toilet. with the crap that we get and the DICK-TADERS that we get who obviously don't care they really don't deserve a second run-thru, but then ya know that QA's going to have to put up with the same thing so I usually do go back thru just because I've always been one that it bothers to have blanks, much less that many, but ya know sometimes ya just gotta and QA people on those days I do apologize.
