Send another e-mail to supervisor and cc it to everyone above her. [2008-12-03]

do you call or e-mail?? [2008-12-01]
when you run out of work, does it matter if you call or e-mail them? i hate calling. just wonder what most of youdo when you are out of work....
yeah I thought i remembered reading an e-mail [2008-11-29]
about this a few months ago...
Huh? Did you get an E-mail or [2008-11-25]
something? I haven't received anything about a special bonus.
Funny how she wants E-mail with commitments, but she can't even respond to E-mails/calls nm [2008-11-21]
Scrw off
I also did not get an e-mail about this [2008-11-19]
only saw it on the home page of MQCentral. I followed the attached notice, and didn't understand what the heck it was about, and the web site they listed was not working and someone on here said the phone number only said its for MQ employees, well wouldn't that be us? I did NOT get an e-mail, only saw it on MQCentral.
We CAN contest that settlement by mail! [2008-11-19]
In the revised QNews, it advises us that if we do not agree with the proposed settlement to be decided 2/25/2009) we can send our reasons to the lawyers listed by mail. We don't have to go to court to state our reasons although I have a feeling some of us will. No one should opt out of this settlement. My reason for contesting is that I personally saw my income drop $800 a month over a period of about a yearwith their New, improved platforms and updates. Then over the last three years, they have been cutting our salaries by 10% each year. I am now making less than half of what I did in 2001.You all must have some idea of how much you lost during those years, whenever you worked with MQ. I have personally been with them since 2001 when they bought out the company I worked for, Lernout and Hauspie.
Go to MQ Central and get out your letters NOW!!
Corporate Mail [2008-11-18]
Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to all.

Well, the mail has come today but I still haven't gotten [2008-11-13]
paid! :( anyone else still not get their check?
I finally got my check in the mail today (sm) [2008-11-13]
but too late to get to the bank. Will have to go to the bank when they first open in the morning.
Just a follow up here. After another e-mail [2008-11-12]
to my supervisor about whyI was getting all these reports from the account I so despise, guess what, I just got my first report from what I think is my primary, still ASR, but at least an account that I enjoy doing. Yet, they want us to believe they have nothing to do with our work pools.
haven't gotten my snail mail check yet either! [2008-11-12]
I am soooo not amused at this! They are finally jumping on my last nerve and I am about to have a major meltdown!
My paper check has still not made it to me and my mail [2008-11-12]
has already run for the day. I'm in a race against time on whether my check will come tomorrow or my bills will come through my bank before then.
we got an e-mail last week, well ahead of scheduled pay day .. [2008-11-11]
.
Try sending an e-mail [2008-10-17]
Perhaps if you send an e-mail to your old manager and QKL, at least one of them might still work for the company and get your information through. Send to Support if you have to. This is too important to leave to chance.
undelivered mail BUT sm..wierd... [2008-10-16]
I sent my PS an email directly from my MQ mailbox, however, the undelivered mail notice came to my personal mailbox. But nothing in MQ mailbox saying it was undelivered. Did you guys get the notice in your MQ box? God I hope he's not gone! He was the greatest!.....that's probably why he's gone, come to think of it. Heaven forbid we should have a PS who treats us like humans! Anyways, I never returned my Corrective Action Form back to him. I wonder what's to come of that?
Just tried to send e-mail to old PS. Not deliverable. nm [2008-10-15]

Mail Delivery Failure [2008-10-15]
My (now old) supervisor was out yesterday so we got backlog updates from her supervisor. I tried to reply to her message and it came back as delivery failure. I tried copying and pasting her address and starting a new message. Same thing. I was going to try again today, but seeing as I have a new team now I guess it would be useless. I wonder what has happened to those we cannot get email to.
mail delivery failure [2008-10-15]
If you can't deliver an e-mail, your PS is gone. The same thing happened to me and I finally got in contact with her manager who told me her position had been eliminated.
Well, crud. E-mail to PS undeliverable...sm [2008-10-14]
If she was let go, MQ made a big mistake. She was a good one.
Just got e-mail from someone with initials AC as new customer care manager. Guess MGM is gone too n [2008-10-14]

I'm with you. As far as going to the bathroom, reading mail, etc. I am on the clock. That is [2008-10-10]
getting way too ridiculous for me to even worry about. I do my job and I do a good job. I am not obsessing about it. I have a problem with circulation, and sometimes I have to get up and walk a little, too. I had back and hip surgery so sitting for long periods of time without moving just does not work. I have not been questioned or written up, so for now I am keeping on the same course.
Foot pedal [2008-12-02]
Never had a problem in the office. Chair/desk/keyboard was perfect height and foot pedal did not move very much on the carpet. When I got home, I needed a board under the foot pedal but the pedal moved on the board. I received a mail order catalog that had a nonskid pad designed for sewing machine foot pedals. It is nonskid rubber on one side and carpet on the other and comes with velcro pads. It was cheap. If you ever see one get it, works great.
OMG! OMG! YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS. [2008-12-02]

I went to Google, typed in Medquist and then at top of page, I hit News and this is the report that came up first. IT SAYS TO GO TO MTSTARS.COM in the article.

Ex oriente lux (From the East Comes Light) (Latin proverb)
Over the last 10 years there have been, to guesstimate, a billion words expended on offshore MT. Unfortunately, these words have often generated more heat than light. That is to say, offshore MT is an emotional issue, and enlightenment in the form of facts is sometimes hard to come by.
For example, an outfit called ValueNotes, which researches and analyzes international business trends, suggested in 2006 that current revenue from Indian MT was $195 million yearly and would reach $647 million by 2010. ValueNotes, however, is based in India, and may be inclined to have an exaggerated view of Indian MT trends. Given that many large U.S. clients - hospitals and clinics - require guarantees that their work will not be offshored, it's difficult to say where this vast expansion in Indian MT will come from. It is undeniable, however, that large U.S. medical transcription service organizations (MTSOs) now have a presence in India (Spheris and MedQuist are examples).
For a good sampling of how U.S. MTs feel, go to the MTStars Web site (http://www.mtstars.com), Main Forum, and search the term offshore. Hold on to your hat, and get out your saltshaker for the grains of salt you need when reading some of the posts. Many people blame offshoring companies for the precipitous drop in MT wages in the past decade or so. But is there really good evidence for this? There have been myriad downward pressures on transcription pay. First is the nationwide panic about soaring health care costs. The value of MT is often not understood by administrative/financial decision makers in health care institutions, and MT becomes an easy target for those seeking to save money.
Second, the increasing and continuing costs of technological change have, in my opinion, siphoned off billions of the dollars allocated to medical records - sometimes with good results, sometimes not. Some of that money, I believe, has come out of our (MT) hides.
Third, I believe the promises (delusions) of automated transcription have created a reluctance on the part of financial decision-makers to spend the money necessary to train and retain skilled MTs, because, after all, in 5 years we will all be replaced by a computer. (Not. But that's another topic.) Finally, MTs should consider that their loss of income may be part of a larger trend of lower or stagnant pay in health care occupations. Nursing pay, for example, did not increase for many years in spite of an acute shortage of nurses, and nursing can't be outsourced. (See http://content.nejm.org/cgi/content/full/354/15/1648 for one discussion of nurses' wages.)
I worked in India for 6 months and still count some Indian MTs as friends and colleagues. I didn't believe at that time, and don't believe now, that offshoring is the source of all the ills of MT. If the value of medical transcription is understood correctly by hospital and clinic administrators, if quality and service are paramount, then our shared goals can be achieved by a worldwide collaboration of well-trained and appropriately compensated MTs. That would be the dawn of a new day!

Are you saying you didn't get the [2008-12-01]
memo where he told us that MQ's top producers were transcribing 426 lph, and editing at a rate of 644 lph. He even then went on to give us instructions on how we could increase our line rates so that we all could become this fast and encouraged us to take his challenge....Then he also had a bridge for sale, but we all passed on that one.....
If you didn't get this E-mail you can always call or E-mail your CCM, and you may or may not get an answer because obviously they don't work full time anymore, or if they do part of their job is not to pay any attention to our E-mails. I haven't figured out what the new management team does or doesn't do yet, it must be another one of Mr. 644's secrets...Good luck...
i have no idea...this guy said [2008-12-01]
when I asked him what do I do now he said I don't know then quickly recovered with I suggest you keep checking until you hear from your supervisor and I told him that I'm on the East coast and my supervisor is on the West coast, and so that means it was 6 am when I got a ticket and he said that I should just keep checking till i hear from the supervisor after I send him an e-mail with the ticket number. However, my supervisor hasn't gotten back to me on much of anything unless I've requested to make up some hours or had to leave early then he got back to me, otherwise I usually hear nothing. So, I don't know. I looked up the policy online and it says we can be excused when the supervisor gets back to us...sigh.
nope [2008-12-01]
sent it anonymously from a different account. got a response quickly. here it is...
oh...and i also got an e-mail from mtquestions asking for my name and ADP number. i think i gave them all the info that matters, don't you? : )
**** Please do not post internal email addresses, phone numbers or communications for any company.****
okay, well... [2008-12-01]
..i was kind of afraid it was against the rules to post that response, but i tried anyway. oh well. no matter. i tried to get heard, and honestly i don't think being anonymous matters....it seemed like my e-mail was taken as seriously as any i'vesent using the official e-mail system....basically i think they've heard all of this before and they just want to keep on thinking it is an individual MTs problem and nothing to do with anything that they are doing.
sigh.
do you call or e-mail?? [2008-12-01]
when you run out of work, does it matter if you call or e-mail them? i hate calling. just wonder what most of youdo when you are out of work....
my CCM is rarely available by phone [2008-12-01]
but I usually just call 888-DICTATE to get a ticket number, then e-mail the ticket number to CCM stating the hours I need PTO for, or if I'm going to make up my hours.
Am i being singled out? SM [2008-11-30]
My CPM has not responded to any of my e-mails or voice mail messages for over a month. And yes, I've escalated with no responses yet. Thanks for your help.
Mr. 644 is our glorious leader who [2008-11-30]
sent the E-mail telling us supposely how many lines his top performers were doing, which we all know is a bunch of bull, and really technically not even possible, but since we are not allowed to use names or initials here we had to come up with a code to let everyone know who we were talking about...
hmm [2008-11-30]
I guess I either missed that memo or didn't receive it. Was it in MQ mail?
He could also be called, yeah, right!
Procedure for low earnings due to lack of work...sm [2008-11-28]
Filing for partial unemployment
You are partially unemployed when you are hired as a full-time employee, and you are still on your employer’s payroll, but that employer cannot give you full-time work. Unless you are claiming Extended Benefits (see Filing for Extended Benefits), you are not required to look for another job or take a job offered by another employer. When filing partial claims, you are to use a special claim form, Initial Claim/Low Earnings Report (LER), which is provided by your regular employer. In all other respects, total and partial unemployment are the same. Once you set up a benefit year, you may file claims for weeks of either total or partial unemployment during that year. The following procedures apply to claims for partial benefits.
Your employer gives you an Initial Claim/Low Earnings Report (LER) for any weeks that full-time work was not available. (A LER may be issued for either one or two weeks of partial unemployment.)
Your employer is required to issue a LER not later than the payday for the week(s) of low earnings.
The LER is your claim for partial benefits. (Do not use the claim form that comes with your benefit check to file for partial benefits.) To file your claim, you must complete the bottom part of the LER and then file the complete form with your local office within ten (10) days following the day you received it. If you delay filing, you may lose your right to benefits. (NOTE: The Low Earnings Report cannot be filed by telephone or via the Internet. Also, do not file until after the week(s) of partial unemployment shown on your LER.)
You must report any work you had with other employers during the week(s) on your LER. You also must report any self-employment and any other income not shown on the LER. If you are a corporate officer or have other business interests, you must report such activities when you file.
You must have been available for all work your regular employer had to offer. You may be denied benefits if you had low earnings for any reason other than lack of work.
Your benefit payment will be reduced by earnings or any other deductible income you had, in the same manner as if you were filing for total unemployment. (See How income affects benefits.)
If you have a benefit year in effect, you can always file your partial claim by mail. Whenever possible, you should file a new claim in person, especially if this is your first experience with the unemployment compensation program. You always must file a new claim in person when either one of the following situations applies to you:
You worked outside West Virginia during any part of the base period. (You may need to file an Interstate or Combined Wage Claim -- see Filing combined wage claims and Filing interstate claims.)
You were on active military duty or worked for the federal government during any part of the base period. See Filing for benefits based on federal civilian employment (UCFE) or Filing for military benefits (UCX).
You must file a new claim in person when either of these situations applies because you will not receive credit for such employment unless you bring the necessary information to your local office. (The information we need is explained on the pages referred to previously.) If your claim is processed by mail, your weekly benefit will be based only on wages reported during your base period by West Virginia employers.
NOTE: You are responsible for the accuracy of all information on a Low Earnings Report. Examine each LER carefully before you file it. If your employer listed your earnings incorrectly or didn’t include other payments made during the week(s) on the report, do not file your claim until the employer corrects the error. Also, make certain that your name and Social Security number are shown correctly, and that the employer properly signed and dated the form. You are liable to repay any overpayment of benefits that results from incorrect information on a Low Earnings Report
I called DICTATE...now [2008-11-27]
How long do I have to sit and wait for someone to get back to me? I have a ticket number...can I just e-mail myCCM and give her the numberand tell her I want PTO for the rest of my shift??
job pools [2008-11-27]
My sup told me in an e-mail that they were going to let us see ourselves how many jobs are in the pools in our region (not just our primary accounts). Has anyone been given this information? I guess I am just being nosy, but I would like to see that info.
the idea of... [2008-11-26]
...changing the way i work, speeding up, or whatever, never even crossed my mind. i never even knew there was a so-called challenge until i came here to these boards. i sort of skim read that stupid e-mail. i've always done the best i can and will continue to do so, so not EVERYONE is speeding up. my reports would definitely be poorer quality if i did so and my mental state would be worse for the wear and it is just not worth it to me to give Medquist more than i already do when they keep taking away from me. i might try towork harder for people who value me, encourage me, and pay me appropriately. medquist does not fit into any of these categories.
OT available [2008-11-26]
I just received an e-mail from my QKL that OT is available as our numbers are rising. I don't get it. How can there be no work available for some and OT for others?
could i get fired? [2008-11-25]
if i wrotewhoever it was that sent us thatlatest e-mail? i really want these people to know just how criminal their actions are, or at the very least so utterly heartless. when i first started working here, i was bringing home between $800 and $900. today's paycheck was $468!!! so even if my average high paycheck was $760 or so, i am averaging a loss of at least $600/month. its a good thing my son is grown andi amno longer really the single mom i used to be and now only have to worry about feeding myself, because if that were the case, we'd be out on the street living in a box. i just don't see how they can get away with doing everything they possibly can to lower our wages and then have the nerve to tell us we should worker harder. its really difficult to work harder when you already work as hard as you can AND you are so depressed you can barely function. happy employees make productive employees. these people are beyond stupid.
Eh, guilty - sm [2008-11-24]
I posted my 1 hour result of 300 lines, but also posted that overall during my 6 hour shift I only got 225 lines, going flat out. I have an account that is not ESL, but mainly ER with residents and attendings dictating at warp speed to begin with, they also sound like they are dictating from a war zone. ASR gets just about every other word wrong.
After doing that for my entire shift I too decided that it was not worth the stress on my mind and body to try and beat the land speed record. I also like to produce quality.
I think most of us were just trying to proove that e-mail wrong and Ibelieve we did that, didn't we?
I have United Health Choice Plus and it costs... [2008-11-24]
$250 per pay period for myself and my husband. I chose this plan so that we could choose our physicians and not have to have referrals to see specialists due to my illness. There is a $25 copay for your GP and a $35 copay for specialists. It is$15 copay for generic drugs, $50 for brand names; you can mail away for 3 months for $30 for generics and $100 for brand names.
Hope this helps a little.
I think we have the same CCM... [2008-11-23]
he mentioned in a prior e-mail that he's trying to figure out a fair way to do it, but never heard anything back, and I didn't even request the HOLIDAY off, just 1 day during that week, and actually that was pre-approved by my prior SUP before the changes took place on Oct. 15th, and I just asked him if that was still in place or if I have to wait for his approval for it, still no word.
OMG what an insult to our intelligence [2008-11-22]
for***** to send an E-mail quoting such outrangeous lies with line counts like that...That is just proof of how stupid management is at MQ to thinkthat we would even believe such an outrageous bunch of bull. We are the ones out here doing this job and we all know that those lines counts are not possible. Even if his top producers have only one or two dictators to work with, whoonly doone specality, and each and everything they put out is done with normals where they only have to go in and add he/she, right/left, then and only then would thoseline counts even be possible, and even still I would like to have that proved to me, and I would also like to see the W2's these supposed people get with my own two eyes, as well as I would like to see their QA audit reports from these finished reports, done from a QA person in each of our areas. There is no way these people are getting 98% or better with line counts like that. *****............You may fool some of the people some of the time, but you will never fool me again. I said you were a liar before and I stand by my beliefs even more now. Just how stupid do you think we are?????? Your E-mail is an insult to every one of us out here working in thereal world. We workour hearts out for this company and for what????? How do any of you suits sleep at night???? Shame on all of you....
**** Stop with the personal names and personal attacks. ****
mk [2008-11-22]
In your E-mail they recently sent out to access the line counts and backlogs, at least in our group they did, and there is a spot on the left side that says search and that is where it would be. Are you able to access the backlogs yet in your area?
mk [2008-11-22]
Hope you find the E-mail you were looking for. I found in in my E-mail and it gave specific instructions. I don't know if they are doing it everywhere yet. Good luck.
So [2008-11-22]
Regarding MQ's latest e-mail on the 644-line producer, I would love to know what this producer is thinking. How many lines more does this producer need to do to maintain her current hourly production? It does not matter if you produce 150 lines per hour versus 644, each one of us is going to have work harder than we do already (ha!) to maintain our hourly wage.
What's this you say? PAY CUT!?! [2008-11-21]
I haven't heard even a whisper about a pay cut for the MTs. How did this come about? E-mail? E-gads, I think I'm gonna throw up.
