Question for Kristen... [2008-04-26]
Thank you so much for the heads-up on ScriptWave.....have a phone conference on Monday with them.....Does ScriptWave work with satellite connection? Thanks so much!!!

Not Kristen here, but [2006-12-07]
When I purchased IT, there was no free trial download, but they did allow returns within 30 days. I still have the program, but have not been using it because of a glitch that IT tech support apparently was unable to figure out. I e-mailed Kristen and called her, as well as e-mailing tech support (I had sent one e-mail prior to calling, then e-mailed one of the glossaries to both her and tech support per her instructions. I do not like to bug people, so waited a couple of weeks before contacting her again, only to have her tell me they did not get my e-mails . . . why did she not contact me, I wondered, having already spoken with me and being aware of my problem???) It seems that they were baffled by the glitch, and I have gotten no help from them at all. The glitch is that I had created several glossaries for different docs, and when I would choose a short, letters would be sometimes added in and other times missing from the expansion IT produced, although in looking at the entry in the glossary the entry had been made correctly in all cases. I never had time to try and figure it out, but the program was just slowing me down because I would have to go back and fix the error it had created, so I wound up having to set the program aside and have not gone back to it still. I am really disappointed, because I was so excited about getting IT and thought that it would be so great, and I really don't have $200 to burn, but so far it looks like that's what I've done. For the cost of the program, I really would have expected a little more from their tech support (who, by the way, NEVER contacted me at all after my e-mails and phone calls to Kristen . . . so, I guess I would have expected a little more than NOTHING from them.) I've not heard of anyone else with this problem. However, at the time, I had just bought my computer, and had experienced no problems other than with IT, and still using the same computer with no problems.

Kristen [2006-12-06]
Since it seems as though you work for Instant Text in some capacity, can you tell me if there is a free trial available, or if there is a time period for return of the product? I'm considering it, but I hate to pay that much without seeing if I can get the hang of it. Thanks!

Scammed By KP [2006-05-09]
MH - your e-mail address is invalid that you provided earlier - please update. I have information regarding KP in Oklahoma that I would like to send to you. There is a detective at the local police station that there would like you to contact him regarding the equpiment you never received. I just called him earlier and he is going to help get me my $300 back.

Scammed as well...sm [2006-05-09]
After reading many of the details regarding how everyone was scammed, it is sounding like the same person using different names. I was scammed by a lady from Woodville, Texas with the initials DS about a year ago. She had a laptop with many extras. Received only half of what was advertised. Had to send many e-mails. Told by daughter that mom was very ill with cancer and ended up in the hospital. Finally did get the rest of the things but computer was three years old and not 8 months old and no longer had a warranty like I had been told. It was worth about half of what I paid. I was then told the mother died. I did contact the police in Woodville and they said the address I gave them sounded like a campground and that they had a lot of transients that came through there. Makes me wonder if this could be the same person just traveling in the Texas/Oklahoma area.

Scammed by K.P. [2006-05-08]
Just reading some posts and noticed a couple below about being scammed on some equipment. I bought a Lanier unit a while back from an ad on MT Stars by someone with the initials K.P. also who was from Oklahoma. I sent the person $400 and never received the equipment. Was told several times it was shipped (insured), then told it was found in the trunk of her Mom's car and never shipped, then it was shipped again but still never received and was sent (uninsured) and lost by the US mail. Was told she had a sick daughter with leukemia and did not have time to reseach the problem right then. Finally, I threatened to take legal action and got a check in the mail, WHICH BOUNCED! Was then told by her that she was going through a divorce and her husband wiped her out of everything. Please e-mail me with her full name. I would like to see if the K.P. I have delt with in the past is the same K.P. you guys are having trouble with now. Thanks!

Laura, the person who scammed the OP is not Kristen Pineda. This is a [2006-05-08]
completely different person altogether. We are dealing with the situation from this end. Thank you.

I was scammed by someone on this board with the initials K.P. `sm` [2006-05-08]
I purchased a c-phone from someone named Kristen in Oklahoma. She gave me a similar story. First she mailed it, then she lost the receipt for the post office, then her grandmother died, then her daughter had cancer and then her husband left her. I paid her $225. My computer crashed and I had to buy a new one so I lost some of the information regarding this but my old computer is now fixed and I have most of the emails that she sent me and that I sent her. I also have my copy of my priority mail slip and money order that I sent her. Besides scamming people out of money, isn't she doing something illegal because she is using the U.S. mail to do it? I was going to just let it go but now reading these posts that she is still doing it and that she is such a liar and crook, it makes me want to pursue it especially when I work my butt off for my money.

Is there anything I can do? Scammed.. [2006-05-06]
I bought a footpedal from someone on here when I posted on the equipment board that I was looking to purchase one. She seemed very sincere and I sent her my money order. She said she sent it outover two weeks ago. I've tried contacting her numerous times and now I can't seem to get in touch with her. Is there anything I can do? I thought about contacting the police in her area to see if there is anything I can do. I just want my money back or my foot pedal. Anyone have any ideas? P.S. I just posted a new message on the equipment board to look for a new foot pedal. Although this time I'll be more careful.

Notify the administrator of this site, and let her know all the particulars, so this person cannot advertise here anymore, and see if maybe she can offer you more advice.

Kristen Pineda scams [2005-09-16]
Kristen has been operating on a Rick Pineda ebay account. Someone has to stop her, she has bilked myself and anther gentleman out of money also. The local police know her well. She must think she is to smart for anyone to figure out how to stop her. The Oklahoma Attorney General may have to jump in and get involved and lets get her in jail where she belongs. Lets start here: Oklahoma US v. Lansford On January 19, 2000, Christine Lansford was indicted in the United States District Court, Western District of Oklahoma, on 14 counts of mail fraud for allegedly offering Beanie Babies on Internet auction web sites, accepting payment and failing to deliver the goods. Lansford allegedly used numerous aliases to perpetrate her scheme. This case was investigated by the United States Postal Inspection Service, Fort Worth Division, and prosecuted by the United States Attorney's Office for the Western District of Oklahoma. Contact: Joe Heaton, Assistant United States Attorney, Western District of Oklahoma, 405/553-8772

Pineda [2005-07-08]
Go to your local police station and file a report with them. After you do that, call the Frederick Police Department and file a report with them. If she has scammed you, don't wait for your equipment. She DOES NOT have any equipment. The Police Departments phone number is 580-335-7503 or 580-335-7504. Fax number is 580-335-2301. Sgt. Joe Rodriguez is on Military Leave in Iraq, but any officer will be able to help you. Hope this helps.....

To Everyone Scammed by Kristen Pineda - sm [2005-07-07]
You need to contact Detective Joe Rodriguez at the Frederick Police Department, 580-335-2301. He is VERY familiar with her and he is very anxious to hear from everybody who has been scammed by her. She just got out of jail not too long ago for this same thing - WE NEED TO STOP HER!!! This is a real hick town (kind of reminded me of the Andy Griffith Show) and everybody knows everybody's business and EVERYBODY at the police department knows Ms. Pineda. PLEASE CALL THEM NOW!

Kristen, you've got at least 3 people on this board [2005-07-07]
that say you've scammed them. Are all three people liars??? It's not that hard to do a criminal background check on you now that we have your name. And it would not be hard to obtain your SS# after that either to find out what other states you've done this in.

Enough about Kristen Pineda and all her aliases. We remove posts as we see them, but [2005-07-07]
this person uses aliases, different email addresses, and IP addresses. WE DO WATCH. If you were taken by this person, deal with the authorities.

toth [2008-10-10]
I too have been scammed by Toth, they owe me alot of money, I would really like a bunch of us to go together and get our money, It is so hard to get a job in this field and it really stinks that this company does this to us.

Common Error List [2008-08-26]
Does anyone have a common error list that a new MT could use? I have been doing transcription for about 6years now and am starting to edit a new MT's work. I know I had a common error list with another company I worked with, but I tossed it when I ended my contract (I know, never throw away a resource! I am kicking myself now). I just was curious if someone had one and was willing to share :0) Thanks in advance! Kristen

Using IT with Inscribe [2008-03-21]
Hi Heather, Did you download the latest revision for Instant Text? If so, the next step would be to establish your Link Options to tell IT to recognize link to Inscribe. From that point, it should function as normal. If you are still having trouble, it would be best email tech support directly at support@textware.com Kind regards, Kristen

Ear wear? [2008-03-09]
So they scammed you out of money, complain about that. Don't go turning it into a HIPAA violation. That is the part that is dumb. No one stole your purse, knocked you over the head, and took your money. You didn't have to pay them. You paid, now your mad, so you want to get them back by filing a HIPAA complaint. At least have the guts to admit what your doing instead of whining like a baby.

Believing that a victim is at fault in anything... [2008-03-07]
scams, crimes, abuse...anything. That's just wrong. If your house was robbed, would you like it someone said you allowed it to happen, take responsibility. How about if your grandparents got scammed out of their life savings by a fast-talking con artist? Would you tell them it was their fault? I don't think so.

OH PLEASE give this a rest!!! [2008-02-07]
I VOTED FOR CLINTON TWICE so I'm not a hater per se. That said, AFTER the fact I started educating myself about the facts with regard to U.S. POLITICS. Its enough to m ake you RETCH. BILL CLINTON had plenty of SUPPORT for NAFTA, and WE ALL GOT THE SHAFTA! Before you start saying Democrats are better than Republicans about this or that issue - do some research: THEY ARE THE SAME party! THE WEDGE ISSUES ARE THERE JUST TO KEEP YOU DISTRACTED! BOTH PARTIES ARE CORRUPT TO THE GILLS - why are AMERICANS SO AWARE OF THIS yet also so willing to keep supporting only these 'two' parties! I just don't get it. If you know you are being scammed, why do you keep buying their lies?

You can import your AutoCorrect list [2007-11-09]
Hi Patty, You can import your AutoCorrect list into Instant Text so you can continue using the list that you have already created. IT will expand using the font that is currently active in your document. If you have an entry that you want to be in a certain font every time you expand, you can do that as well using Formatted Entries. For more information on IT V Pro, please see the link below. Or you can always give us a call at 800-355-5251. Kind regards, Kristen

MT and practice are both at fault sm [2007-11-06]
Have had this done to me more than once. The PT office should have said, no way, if she approached them. She should have said, no way, if they approached her. You have been hurt, and it's not only common courtesy but a stab in the back. Keep them as a client until you get really busy with others and then drop them. I would not keep her, not for one moment. I had to let go of both a friendship,, a client and an employee twice because I do not tolerate this type of sinister behavior. You should not either. Fool me once, shame on me; foll me twice, shame on me. You should be flaming mad, you have every right, you were scammed by both.

sounds fishy to me [2007-08-23]
Your first paragraph makes me think you are being scammed. If you can't install an Expander program how will you ever learn to use one of the better ones to your best ability (to work somewherebetter down the road). I have literally thousands of expansions in my program and it goes from company to company as I change jobs and my production only increases as it grows. If the computer crashes, it's on CD backup and I can put it on any other computer. Don't know about these features in WORD, as I have always been more pleased with an independent expander program. More versatile. If this is THEIR computer and you enter your expansions on it, you mightlose all your hard work if you stay for a while and then quit. Think about this. *Someone please correct me if I'm wrong here.* This company may provide templates and you change a few things here and there, but this disabling thing really bothers me, especially if you are new to transcription. They've got you backed into a corner as far as developing your skills is concerned. It's in your best interest to know anduse ALLthe programs and featues that help us make money. I don't think they are being fair to you. I've worked for 2 places with accounts that relied heavily on templates and both paid me for everything whether I typed it or not.Maybe they are only paying you for what you put in and not what automatically populates. If so, another reason to quit, even if you can whip thesethings out quickly. It sounds to me like you are being taken advantage of. You have to make sure the document makes sense in the endand not just whatyou inserted or changed, right? You deserve to be paid for the whole thing from my understanding of what you wrote and use whatever toolsyou prefer to use to reach that objective as long as it doesn't interfere with their software. If it does, go somewhere else where you can develop your skills and become more marketable andbe paid accordingly. Can you even install a medical spellchecker on the computer??? This just sounds nuts to me. What about reference CDs for specialities, etc.???? I prefer my own computer so I can put whatever I want on it. Worth the expense in my estimation and I don't have to wonder about what other stuff the company has put on it that I don't know about to watch my work habits, etc. Goodluck to you whatever you decide to do! Just don't let them walk all over you if you are new--not if you can help it. I know getting experience is important but so is making a decent living and betteringyourskills for a better future.

what to do [2007-07-04]
If you have any bad dealings with Kristen at this point, please don't contact me or her father unless you have already filed charges. Just do whatever you feel you must do. We will continue to love and support her and her family. Please continue to pray with us for her children. I can no longer mentally take the stress of trying to be a solution for you and/or Kristen. Kristen may be 29, but she is still my little girl. I love her children like they were my own. I think I would rather be just her mom from now on.

Maybe I'll break it out and give it another try. I appreciate your input, but it is too bad that I have to get my tech support here when I paid so much money for the program. I love this board though!!! Probably should have asked about it here sooner, but I guess I thought it was just me (since Kristen acted as though nobody else had EVER had the same dillema -- well, she actually said that they had not heard of anyone else having the problem, not just acted like it :)). Thanks again!

Meant to include this one too [2006-12-07]
From: Add to Address Book Date: 2006/03/14 Tue PM 04:04:51 EST To: Subject: IT trouble I have been having a problem with IT whereby when I enter a short such as Fln and then choose Flonase, the expansion produced in the document comes out Flnase, although it is not misspelled in the glossary. This also happens with phrase entries, though in neither case does it happen every time (i.e. sometimes when I enter Fln and choose Flonase, that is what is produced in the document). Usually it seems that it loses a letter that I skip in entering a short, as above, but an example of one that happened today a little differently was when I entered Aqa and then chose Answers questions appropriately, the expansion produced came out Aswers questions appropriately, which I believe is the first time I have had it just drop the letter and not have what I had typed as the next letter in place (i.e. would have come out something like Aqswers questions appropriately, since I had actually typed the letter q). Kristen suggested that I e-mail the custom glossary that I am currently using, which is attached to this e-mail and titled XXXX2, and I mentioned to her also that I have created several glossaries for the various doctors for whom I transcribe, and that the problem will happen when using any of them. I am using Word 2000 and Windows XP. My telephone number is (XXX) XXX-XXXX, and I appreciate any help you can offer. Thank you, Kim Xxxxxx

What version of IT are you using? [2006-12-06]
What version of Instant Text V Pro are you using? Do you have your linking options established? To find out what version you are using,double-click on the blue title-bar in Instant Text and then go to Help and About Instant Text. There you will see the exact version and built date that you are using. If you are using Instant Text V Pro but do not have a built date of October 2005, I would suggest downloading the latest revision from our website so you are using the most up-to-date version. If you are using a previous version of IT, such as IT 3.0 or IT 3.5, I would recommend upgrading to version V Pro. Also, please leave a message when you call so we can help you. If you do not get a tech on the phone, it is because we are on the other line helping other IT users. You can always email us directly if you need help as well. Kind regards, Kristen

Thanks!!!! [2006-07-24]
Thanks Kristen!!!!

Importing AutoCorrect [2006-07-24]
Hello IndyMT, No, importing your AutoCorrect list into Instant Text will not make it unavailable to use in Word as normal. When you import it into IT, it simply makes it available to use within the IT program but it does not delete or change it from its original format. Kind regards, Kristen

Instant Text offers a money-back guarantee [2006-06-19]

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting on their [2006-06-14]
I have a glitch with mine and waited a month and a half, not wanting to be pushy. This was after I telephoned and spoke with the girl from Textware that posts here sometimes, told her what my problem was and that I had sent an e-mail through their website and not heard back within a few days. She told me to send her the glossary I was having trouble with, and I e-mailed it both as a reply to her, in accordance with her instructions for sending, and also e-mailed again to tech support through my own e-mail provider. Anyway, I finally contacted again and she was going to be out for a couple of days, and though another person did try to help, I have been too busy to mess with it, but was irritated that I was told they did not receive my e-mails (I still have them in my box) and Kristen did not bother to call and let me know they did not receive it, even though I had taken the time to call her and explain my problem after the first unsuccessful e-mail. Sorry, I guess I needed to vent about that . . . Anyway, if you have your glossaries saved and are sure you won't lose anything, I would uninstall and reinstall if it were me.
