Please pray for my mom. She has developed a boat-load of illnesses sm [2008-11-17]
this year. It started with hypertension, then she developed temporal arteritis, which the neurologist put her on high dose (80 mg) prednisone, which has lead to puffiness, diabetes,very slow-healing leg ulcers, and nowshe has developed atrial fibrillation and her BUN and creatinine are up. She is such a good person, very active normally, it is just so unfair. She really needs prayers. Thank you all.

Trying to take care of him, take him for chemo, she lost her benefits because she didn Thenshe put her car up for one of those title loans and lost her car. Then her husband passed away. Then Katrina hit her state. Then she had a CABG. Then she broke her wrist. Now she is having a nephrectomy this week for a tumor that was found incidentally on an abdominal CT scan because she has diverticulitis. Please keep her in your prayers. I will try to make this brief. I have marital problems, husband is gone all the time. I came to work at home again because I have no help with our children. I need to be here if they are sick and be here when they get home from school. But I have become once again socially isolated (I did this type of work for years and had a job outside of the home and enjoyed it, except for the fact that my children did not get enough attention, so I quit). I do have friends but I don I used to walk several miles a day but never do that anymore, have gained weight, eat junk food, stay on the computer too long. I am constantly busy. I still do volunteer work with my children - Scouts, church, etc., but I am so overwhelmed. My husband is almost never here. It almost feels more like he comes to visit us sometimes than actually lives here, but I need his help financially and my son is very afraid for me to get a divorce (long story, but he is afraid he would have to live part-time with his dad, and they are not close). I have debt that my husband doesn But he won When I tell him I need more money he tells me things like, turn off the cable TV or don The thing is he spends lots and lots of money on entertaining himself. He makes 3 x as much as I do (or maybe 4 by now). I have not been allowed to open his mail for years and we pretty much never talk. I have started to allow things to pile up, mail around my desk, weight around my middle, clutter here and there. I just feel like a big slug. I am tired much of the time. In reading this I sound depressed but I am already taking an antidepressant which I started a few years ago because of my marriage.I love my children so dearly but I am afraid of leaving and disrupting their lives. If I left I would at least get my part of the equity in ourhome, etc., and maybe have a chance at having a life again. Anyway, I know this is long and rambling and jumbled, but I just woke up, from another night of poor sleep. Please suggest what you would do. Thanks

Please pray for me. I am trying to pursue a nursing career to better my family. I have a husband and a young daughter. We fall between the cracks, and because of this I am having to pay for this on my own, trying to work 40 hours a week, take care of my family and I have medical problems (kidney transplant 4 years ago). I am sure many of you know the cost of in vitro is prohibitive as insurance does not pay. This couple will make wonderful, loving parents,and this baby will be raised in a stable, loving environment. To lose this pregnancy after all they have gone through to achieve it would be devastating to them and to my friend, who so desperately wants to see her daughter's dream of motherhood become reality. Dear readers, I am coming to this board in desperate need of thoughtful prayer. 2008 has been a tough year for my family and I. First, our horse rescue ( a non-profit org) went under (there is LOW interest in helping abandoned horses since the economy tumbled.) And somehow during all that mess, someone had the awful timing to also physically assault both my (wonder perfect, non-volent, well-loved, and respected)parents, resulting in a long ER visit. Then my stepfather's father had a rather seious stroke, which was then followed by my uncle's mother also having a very serious stroke.. having done my best to maintain a less-than-glum outlook on life, I am now on the verge of crisis. My paternal grandmother, one of my closest friends and loved ones, has been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that has spead to the spine. The survival rate is less than a 2% chance of living past 8 months. Having just started online MT school, I am, at least, very thankful for the wonderful joy that this studying has brought me. But I don't want school to become such a crutch for me that I neglect being there for/with my family. Everyone is hanging in there and staying positive, but a little prayer would boost spirits very high right now.. and my family needs that oh so bad. Thank you for reading, and thank you for your prayers and positive thoughts.

My SO is battling alcoholism and at the moment is losing the fight. Last night, he became verbally abusive (common after the 16th or so Budwiser) and physically violent (a new occurrence). I have been asked by his 13-year-old son to please stay (both parents are alcoholics and apparently I am the only stable influence in this childsanity and for God to help me find the strength to do what is necessary to protect and preserve my family.

my little dog! Sounds crazy to some, but he is like my little boy. He is adaschund and is paralyzed in his back legs. If anyone has a daschund and has gone through this, please email me with some hope. He has been at the vet I am a mess. I am cleaning beddingall the time. He cannot get up to urinate or have a BM, but is still doing so. He is eating and drinking, but just drags his back legs. I know surgery could be an option, but I just cannot afford $2-3000. My sisterHodgkin He had so much radiation damage to chest his heart failed at age 43. He was on an artificial heart machine for 3 months and was blessed with a really strong heart donor Because of the anti-rejection meds his kidneys failed in the Spring. He is now in Critical Care Unit for 2 months and having every weird thing happen to him. He is 103 pounds. His new son-in-law is a willing donor and match for kidney transplant if he can pull through this (which is a miracle itself). We feel that prayer has brought him this far along. My sister has taken leave of her job and takes care of him in the hospital every day driving to downtown Los Angeles. Thanks!

Unbelievable family tragedy...please say a prayer. [2007-11-06]
I have to make a long story short here. We just need all of the prayers that we can find. God is the only one that can see us through this tragedy. My sister-in-law is married for the second time with 7 children. Six of them are from her first marriage and the last child was born out of wedlock. They range in ages from 23 to 6. She was married to a man who she claimed was extremely abusive and ended up leaving him approximately 7 years ago. She remarried an alcoholic. A really bad alcoholic. He did end up adopting the youngest son, the one that has a different father - one in which left my sister-in-law when he found out she was pregnant. He has been very threatening to her and her family for the past 3-4 years, since they have been married. These are really horrible threats to kill or harm. He has even landed in jail because of them. I know she felt lost and alone. He has got a really horrible disease and needs help but doesn Her husband was brutally attacked the other night and left for dead. Somehow, he did not die but managed to call 911 and get help. It turns out that my sister-in-law had planned this attack and asked a friend to execute it. They have both been arrested and are sitting in jail. They are both charged with attempted homicide. These 5 kids are at my mother-in-laware of age and live on their own, but they are in town, and understandably devastated.) I feel so horrible and helpless - those poor babies. PLEASE pray for them and for my husband The only thing I can think regarding my sister-in-law is she felt if she left him, he would come for her and her children and kill them all. He has threatened that before. I greatly appreciate your prayers.

She is in the ICU. She is recently widowed after her husband had a difficult time with COPD, so this has been a terrible year for her. She is a wonderful Christian woman, but suffered horrible abuse as a child from her father and uncle and other male family members. She coped with the horrors with alcohol since the age of 12, and finally quit drinking a couple of years ago. I was already worried about her since her husband died, and now there has been all the coverage on TV about the little girl who was abused. She started drinking again, must have stopped again, and suffered DTs and seizures. My husband is there with her in the ICU, and she is very out of it. Please pray for her. Life is so hard I can't make sense of it.

I am asking for prayers. I suffer from fibromyalgia plus other underlying conditions. I have been in so much pain today, the week actually, but ran out of pain meds due to not having the finances to pay for my Ultram until my paycheck comes in. My doctor doesn't carry samples of these. I have been praying and praying and praying and I just am to the point now where I don Please, pray for me, send good thoughts to me, anything. I am so down, in pain daily, still trying to work (no other choice) until I hear from disability which can take years if I even get approved. Hello: I am married to a recovering alcoholic/drug addict, sober for 24 years. Your husband needs to,unfortunately hit rock bottom before he gets the help he needs. I have been in your shoes, but my husband was not verbally or physically abusive. After three tries in a drug/alcohol rehab program, he finally got it, because I told him, it is the alcohol or it is me and our son. He chose us, got the help. I knew there was good person under the booze/drugs and I stayed with him, even though my family and his told me to leave him. But, if you enable him, he will continue to drink. I don Is there any way you can take children away from him and his abuse. I did enable my husband before I knew what to do. It is a long struggle and a hard one and only you can decide when enough is enough and where to seek help. I would never allow abuse in my home, but everyone is different as to what they call abuse and what they can tolerate. Good luck. Al-Anon did not help me, but AA did help me, when I went with my husband. My prayers are with you and your life. Remember, there is nothing that you have done or have said to make this person verbally or physically attack you, and you did not make him drink. Alcoholism is a disease as is drug addiction and only once that person admits that he has a problem and seeks help can he/she be helped. When people do not understand addiction the first thing they will ask is what did you do to make him go out and drink/use drugs. I did nothing, but I did enable him by providing him a place to sleep and gave him my car to use, that is enabling. They are also so sorry the next morning and promise never to do it again, and unfortunately that usually is not the case.

I will say a prayer for your kitty. Does he have dental disease by chance? My vet told me that can cause all of those problems. My siamese was making weird noises with his teeth, brought him to the vet and he needs dental work, poor thing, sore gums and he is eating a good diet too, but dental disease can cause many problems. I have one cat with diabetes, on insulin and just lost my 14 year old due to a cancerous tumor in his little heart, he was my buddy. They become such an integral part of the family and I still look for my cat, who followed me everywhere. Good luck with Calvin, hope his illness can be fixed.

Prayers for those affected by the midwest floods [2008-06-20]
I actually live in Lincoln County, Missouri but am more to the central part of the county. I have a lot of family and friends that live along the Mississippi River that have lost their belongings or are facing damage leftover by these floods. Please prayer for them as well as the farmers whose crops have been destroyed. Please also be praying for the thousands of men and woman of the Army Reserve and Army National Guard who are desperately working to save these small river towns. They are not much but to some they areall they have. Thank you.....

I lost both of my parents within the same year as well when I was fairly young - just havingyoung children like yourselfand I really needed them. I stand, walk, and live in faith. In hard timesI pick up the Bible, pray, read, I grab ahold of the Cross I wear around my neck, which I guess it is my way of reminding me how much I am blessed and this helps.I still miss my parents and I know I always will. My father died 13 years ago (colon cancer), and my mother died 2 years ago (multiple health problems/ultimate liver failure). My husband I just got a call last night that my uncle is dying of liver failure; he has maybe days to live (my mother My son is performing today at school for a little school idol competition, and I feel like I have no one to call and come see. You are not alone. My husband works a lot too. My kids are 13 and 8 and I stand strong for them. I will pray for you that you too can get over this tough time. I still try to laugh and still need to cry, but I am moving forward and you will too! That baby needs you more than ever and cry when the baby cries, it helps! No matter how silly that sounds. A good cry does wonders. I have faith, but do not attend church. I Sometimes I just listen to religious music (Alan Jackson is my favorite) and it helps soothe me to know that God is with us. He gives us troubles to keep us strong. I will certainly pray that you can move up and on and congrats on the new baby (even if he is six months old). What a joy to have a little one who is healthy and can bring things into perspective for you! Take care, God Bless, and you are definitely not alone in wondering why everyone has been taken from me. I need prayer. I am having a difficult time right now. You see, I lost my brother in 2001 in a car accident. Right after that, my father was diagnosed with lung cancer. He took chemo and did fairly well, but in April 2006 my mother was diagnosed with malignant melanoma and she passed away on 05/16/06. She was my best friend. My fatheron 07/15/06. I think he pretty much died of a broken heart. The week after his funeral, I found out I was pregnant but I miscarried in August. In the beginning everyone is there for you and around you and now I feel like I have no one. I do now have a 6 month old baby boy and I am married and I am thankful for my baby and husband. I am a religious person and have just recently started going back to church, but I still have a hard time understanding why my whole family has been taken away from me. I am just having a hard time. My hubby works a lot and it is just me and the baby. My baby cries a lot and demands a lot of attention and I feel like if I just had my parents, things would be so much easier. I feel so alone. If it was not for my little boy, I do not know where I would be right now. I just keep saying to myself that I have to get it together to raise my child, but it is still so hard. When you lose your parents, you lose the two important people that will love you no matter what and that would do just about anything for you (at least my parents were like this). Just remember mein your prayers please.

I would contact the mortgage company and tell them the situation, that you don If you I think you may have been dealing with an overly aggressive person who only cared about getting the payment and nothing else. Be honest with them. About 10 years ago, I lost a house due to foreclosure so I totally understand what you Back then, there weren I contacted different agencies to find out how to save my house, but they weren We weren't in the mortgage crisis that we're in right now, so I guess they really didn't care. If they Do you have friends or family who could help you? Do whatever you can to save your house! Are there things around the house you can sell? Craigslist is an awesome place to sell stuff. Their website is craigslist.com. It I have purchased from Craigslist, including living room furniture and a lawnmower. If you decide to go this route, make sure you also put a picture of the item on the website. When I go to Craigslist, I only look at the ads that have pictures. It is important to understand that the mortgage company does not want your house. They will work with you. Sometimes mortgage companies will let you put a past due payment onto the back of the mortgage which could make you current. Feel free to email me if you'd like!

I am not 30 days late yet, but as of the first of June I will be. I would not be that worried about it, but I am finally in this house 3 years and now I can finally refinance after being in one of those nasty subprime mortgages and with any late payments I cannot refinance for any better interest rate than I have right now. I think the situation has been taken care of though, as my son I just had a major financial crash in April and then my hubbie was in the hospital for a week earlier this month and I was unable to work, so that is why I am in the situation I am in right now. I have already though worked out my budget for June and God willing things are actually starting to look up. Thank you again for your kindness and encouraging words. Prayers needed ASAP! [2008-05-13]
Please say a prayer for my dear friend Sharif. He was just diagnosed with an 8.5 x 9.7-cm mass on his left kidney with 5 or 6 enlarged lymph nodes or soft tissue nodules adjacent to the mass. I took him to the chief surgeon of the urology oncology division at UCLA today, and we found out that he also has a congenital anomaly called a horseshoe kidney. Both his left and right kidneys are fused together forming a horseshoe shape across the center of his body. This will make the surgery much more complicated, as they will have to carefully separate the kidneys before they can begin removal of the left kidney and large tumor. Before they can do the surgery, he will need medical clearance and a chest CT to make sure that the cancer has not metastasized into his lungs. He is a wonderful young man and every prayer will help! I just can't imagine losing him and am praying for a miracle! Thank you in advance for any prayers you are able to send his way!
