The "level-headed" people here voted for McCain. [2008-11-29]

Why do you think that Hillary and McCain did not raise the B/C issue? [2008-11-27]
Do you think maybe it is because there was no merit to it and everyone knew it? The people who were most directly affected by it are not saying anything about it - the other presidential candidates... So, honest opinion, why are they not whooping and hollering?

John McCain's future [2008-11-26]
After seeing Cindy smooching some biker dude, maybe John should check in at home more often.

You mean his supporters in Hawaii [2008-11-26]
I will be satisfied when the supreme court decides whether or not the certificate is legitimate. Having Hawaii legally seal this only raises suspicion. Show me the proof that there was an official Office of the President Elect in the past. Never was! This was created by Obama. There has always been a transition team, but never a made up office. Even Clinton was not this arrogant. Since you didn't like Fox news, here are some other links. http://www.newemergencypreparedness.com/office-of-the-president-elect/ http://186-kps.com/blog/2008/11/07/obama-ego-the-office-of-president-elect-wtf/ http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/obama_president_elect_/2008/11/10/149643.html I could post many more sites but it doesn't matter because if it goes against the O you just won't believe it no matter how true it is.

I've gotta ask, since McCain wasn't born in the USA, [2008-11-26]
would you have been as angry and demanding that the will of the people be ignored if McCain had won the election? And where is your outrage over Bush's complete lack of regard and respect for the Constitution over the last eight years? This whole thing about Obama is ridiculous. If it were true, don't you think the Republicans would have had a field day with that as an issue? This is the highest office in the land. Of course, Obama was vetted and found to be eligible to hold that office.

Where does John Mccain Fit In [2008-11-24]
Just something else to ponder. Is there a place for him in the admin? What is his special area of expertise? I'm not thinking the cabinet, but just any position where he could do a good job?

Actually GP, you said McCain would [2008-11-19]
win the election. You said it so many times that you almost had me convinced and I voted for Obama. I think your crystal ball needs some fine-tuning before you use it again.

It's McCain's fault....(sm) [2008-11-19]
He said during his campaign that he knew how to get Osama bin Laden. Has he known how to do this all along? I guess since he didn't get elected he's not willing to share that info.....ROFL..

Obama has more threats than other presidents-electBy EILEEN SULLIVAN, Associated Press Writer Eileen Sullivan, Associated Press WriterWASHINGTON – Threats against a new president historically spike right after an election, but from Maine to Idaho law enforcement officials are seeing more against Barack Obama than ever before. The Secret Service would not comment or provide the number of cases they are investigating. But since the Nov. 4 election, law enforcement officials have seen more potentially threatening writings, Internet postings and other activity directed at Obama than has been seen with any past president-elect, said officials aware of the situation who spoke on condition of anonymity because the issue of a president's security is so sensitive. Earlier this week, the Secret Service looked into the case of a sign posted on a tree in Vay, Idaho, with Obamafree public hanging. In North Carolina, civil rights officials complained of threatening racist graffiti targeting Obama found in a tunnel near the North Carolina State University campus. And in a Maine convenience store, an Associated Press reporter saw a sign inviting customers to join a betting pool on when Obama might fall victim to an assassin. The sign solicited $1 entries into The Osama Obama Shotgun Pool, saying the money would go to the person picking the date closest to when Obama was attacked. Let said the sign, since taken down. In the security world, anything new can trigger hostility, said Joseph Funk, a former Secret Service agent-turned security consultant who oversaw a private protection detail for Obama before the Secret Service began guarding the candidate in early 2007. Obama, of course, will be the countryAnytime you he said. The Secret Service also has cautioned the public not to assume that any threats against Obama are due to racism. The service investigates threats in a wide range. There are stated threats and equally dangerous or lesser incidents considered of unusual interest — such as people motivated by obsessions or infatuations or lower-level gestures such as effigies of a candidate or an elected president. The service has said it does not have the luxury of discounting anything until agents have investigated the potential danger. Racially tinged graffiti — not necessarily directed at Obama — also has emerged in numerous reports across the nation since Election Day, prompting at least one news conference by a local chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People in Georgia. A law enforcement official who also spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly said that during the campaign there was a spike in anti-Obama rhetoric on the Internet — a lot of ranting and raving with no capability, credibility or specificity to it. There were two threatening cases with racial overtones: • In Denver, a group of men with guns and bulletproof vests made racist threats against Obama and sparked fears of an assassination plot during the Democratic National Convention in August. • Just before the election, two skinheads in Tennessee were charged with plotting to behead blacks across the country and assassinate Obama while wearing white top hats and tuxedos. In both cases, authorities determined the men were not capable of carrying out their plots. In Milwaukee, police officials found a poster of Obama with a bullet going toward his head — discovered on a table in a police station. Chatter among white supremacists on the Internet has increased throughout the campaign and since Election Day. One of the most popular white supremacist Web sites got more than 2,000 new members the day after the election, compared with 91 new members on Election Day, according to an AP count. The site, stormfront.org, was temporarily off-line Nov. 5 because of the overwhelming amount of activity it received after Election Day. On Saturday, one Stormfront poster, identified as Dalderian Germanicus, of North Las Vegas, said, I want the SOB laid out in a box to see how It is not surprising that a black president would galvanize the white supremacist movement, said Mark Potok, director of the Southern Poverty Law Center, who studies the white supremacy movement. The overwhelming flavor of the white supremacist world is a mix of desperation, confusion and hoping that this will somehow turn into a good thing for them, Potok said. He said hate groups have been on the rise in the past seven years because of a common concern about immigration.

Team McCain should include any and all who [2008-11-17]
proliferating these messages. From our own forum, we can see that there are plenty of nationalist nut jobs, rabid racists and pious patriots out there who are not able to make the connection between hate speech, violence and assassinations. This can only lead us into the necessity for swift, tight and hopefully harsh enforcement of hate crimes in the future. I hope they make tougher laws regarding hate speech along the way.

SC Roman Catholic priest says Obama supporters shouldn't receive [2008-11-14]
By MEG KINNARD | Associated Press Writer 9:04 PM EST, November 13, 2008COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) _ A South Carolina Roman Catholic priest has told his parishioners that they should refrain from receiving Holy Communion if they voted for Barack Obama because the Democratic president-elect supports abortion, and supporting him constitutes material cooperation with intrinsic evil. The Rev. Jay Scott Newman said in a letter distributed Sunday to parishioners at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville that they are putting their souls at risk if they take Holy Communion before doing penance for their vote. Our nation has chosen for its chief executive the most radical pro-abortion politician ever to serve in the United States Senate or to run for president, Newman wrote, referring to Obama by his full name, including his middle name of Hussein. Voting for a pro-abortion politician when a plausible pro-life alternative exists constitutes material cooperation with intrinsic evil, and those Catholics who do so place themselves outside of the full communion of Christ During the 2008 presidential campaign, many bishops spoke out on abortion more boldly than four years earlier, telling Catholic politicians and voters that the issue should be the most important consideration in setting policy and deciding which candidate to back. A few church leaders said parishioners risked their immortal soul by voting for candidates who support abortion rights. But bishops differ on whether Catholic lawmakers — and voters — should refrain from receiving Communion if they diverge from church teaching on abortion. Each bishop sets policy in his own diocese. In their annual fall meeting, the nation's Catholic bishops vowed Tuesday to forcefully confront the Obama administration over its support for abortion rights. According to national exit polls, 54 percent of Catholics chose Obama, who is Protestant. In South Carolina, which McCain carried, voters in Greenville County — traditionally seen as among the state's most conservative areas — went 61 percent for the Republican, and 37 percent for Obama. It was not an attempt to make a partisan point, Newman said in a telephone interview Thursday. In fact, in this election, for the sake of argument, if the Republican candidate had been pro-abortion, and the Democratic candidate had been pro-life, everything that I wrote would have been exactly the same. Conservative Catholics criticized Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry in 2004 for supporting abortion rights, with a few Catholic bishops saying Kerry should refrain from receiving Holy Communion because his views were contrary to church teachings. Sister Mary Ann Walsh, spokeswoman for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, said she had not heard of other churches taking this position in reaction to Obama's win. A Boston-based group that supports Catholic Democrats questioned the move, saying it was too extreme. Father Newman is off base, said Steve Krueger, national director of Catholic Democrats. He is acting beyond the authority of a parish priest to say what he did. ... Unfortunately, he is doing so in a manner that will be of great cost to those parishioners who did vote for Sens. Obama and Biden. There will be a spiritual cost to them for his words. A man who has attended St. Mary's for 18 years said he welcomed Newman's message and anticipated it would inspire further discussion at the church. I don said Ted Kelly, 64, who volunteers his time as lector for the church. You ___ On the Net: St. Mary's Catholic Church: http://www.stmarysgvl.org/

McCain at the end distanced himself from Bush..... [2008-11-11]
because he thought that this might bring him victory. Isn't this, as you state...'changing the message to suit the audience......?' What better democratic shoo-in did you expect? The WHOLE WORLD supported and would have voted for BARAK OBAMA. Obama got 44% of the white votes, 2004 Bush got 58% of the white votes.

This possibility exists, but also as McCain as president...sm [2008-11-11]
so let's try a different approach with President-elect Barak Obama. Therefore the majority voted for Obama.

Joint Chiefs Chairman "Very Positive" After Meeting with Obama [2008-11-30]
Joint Chiefs Chairman 'Very Positive' After Meeting With Obama- By Karen DeYoungWashington Post Staff WriterSunday, November 30, 2008; A01 Adm. Michael Mullen, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, went unarmed into his first meeting with the new commander in chief -- no aides, no PowerPoint presentation, no briefing books. Summoned nine days ago to President-elect Barack Obama's Chicago transition office, Mullen showed up with just a pad, a pen and a desire to take the measure of his incoming boss. There was little talk of exiting Iraq or beefing up the U.S. force in Afghanistan; the one-on-one, 45-minute conversation ranged from the personal to the philosophical. Mullen came away with what he wanted: a view of the next president as a non-ideological pragmatist who was willing to both listen and lead. After the meeting, the chairman felt very good, very positive, according to Mullen spokesman Capt. John Kirby. As Obama prepares to announce his national security team tomorrow, he faces a military that has long mistrusted Democrats and is particularly wary of a young, intellectual leader with no experience in uniform, who once called Iraq a dumb war. Military leaders have all heard his pledge to withdraw most combat forces from Iraq within 16 months -- sooner than commanders on the ground have recommended -- and his implied criticism of the Afghanistan war effort during the Bush administration. But so far, Obama appears to be going out of his way to reassure them that he will do nothing rash and will seek their advice, even while making clear that he may not always take it. He has demonstrated an ability to speak the lingo, talk about mission plans and tasking, and to differentiate between strategy and tactics, a distinction Republican nominee John McCain accused him of misunderstanding during the campaign. Obama has been careful to separate his criticism of Bush policy from his praise of the military target=>Michelle Obama target=>U.S. military goals and capabilities, which many found lacking during the Bush years. Open and serious debate versus ideological certitude will be a great relief to the military leaders, said retired Maj. Gen. William L. Nash of the Council on Foreign Relations. Senior officers are aware that few in their ranks voiced misgivings over the Iraq war, but they counter that they were not encouraged to do so by the Bush White House or the Pentagon under Donald H. Rumsfeld. The joke was that when you leave a meeting, everybody is supposed to drink the Kool-Aid, Nash said. In the Bush administration, you had to drink the Kool-Aid before you got to go to the meeting. Obama target=>Robert M. Gates as defense secretary and expected appointment of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton as secretary of state and retired Marine Gen. James L. Jones as national security adviser have been greeted with relief at the Pentagon. Clinton is respected at the Pentagon and is considered a defense moderate, at times bordering on hawkish. Through her membership on the Senate Armed Services Committee -- sought early in her congressional career to add gravitas to her presidential aspirations -- she has developed close ties with senior military figures. Some in the military are suspicious of flagpole officers such as Jones, whose assignments included Supreme Allied Commander at NATO, Marine commandant and other headquarters service, and who grew up in France and is a graduate of Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. But Jones also saw combat in Vietnam and served in Bosnia. His reputation is pretty good, one Pentagon official said. He and at a lean 6-foot-4, the former Georgetown basketball player looks great in a suit. Although Jones occasionally and privately briefed candidate Obama on foreign policy matters -- on Afghanistan, in particular, as did current deputy NATO commander Lt. Gen. Karl Eikenberry -- he is not considered an intimate of the president-elect. But as Obama target=>Brent Scowcroft and Colin L. Powell, who injected order and discipline to a National Security Council full of strong personalities with independent power bases. Although exit polls did not break out active-duty voters, it is virtually certain that McCain won the military vote. In an October survey by the Military Times, nearly 70 percent of more than 4,000 officers and enlisted respondents said they favored McCain, while about 23 percent preferred Obama. Only African American service members gave Obama a majority. In exit polls, those who said they had ever served in the U.S. military made up 15 percent of voters and broke 54 percent for McCain to 44 percent for Obama. As a culture, we are more conservative and Republican, a senior officer said. Obama has said he will meet with the chairman of the Joint Chiefs as well as the service chiefs during his first week in office. At the top of his agenda for that meeting will be what he has called the militarynew mission of planning the 16-month withdrawal timeline for Iraq. Senior officers have publicly grumbled about the risk involved. Moving forward in a measured way, tied to conditions as they continue to evolve, over time, is important, Mullen said at a media briefing four days before his Nov. 21 meeting with Obama. I prior to the election, he said. The last Democratic president, Bill Clinton, clashed with the chiefs during his first sit-down with them when they opposed his campaign pledge to end the ban on gays in the military. The chiefs, some of whom held the commander in chief in thinly veiled contempt as a supposed Vietnam draft dodger, won the battle, and Clinton spent much of his two terms seen as an adversary. But Mullen came away from the Chicago talk reassured that Obama will engage in a discussion with them, balancing risks and asking tough questions . . . but not in a combative, finger-pointing way, one official said. The president-elect target=>Capitol Hill and whose first two-year term as chairman does not expire until the end of September, was seen as an attempt to establish a relationship and avoid early conflict. While some Pentagon officials believe an Iraq withdrawal order could become Obama target=>Defense Department sources said that Gates, Mullen and Gen. David H. Petraeus, head of the military's Central Command, are untroubled by the 16-month plan and feel it can be accomplished with a month or two of wiggle room. These sources noted that Obama himself has said he would not be careless about withdrawal and would retain a residual force of unspecified size to fight terrorists and protect U.S. diplomats and civilians. The officer most concerned about untimely withdrawal, sources said, is the Iraq commander, Gen. Ray Odierno. Even as the Iraq war continues, defense officials are far more worried about Afghanistan, where they see policy drift and an unfocused mission. With strategy reviews now being completed at the White House and by the chairman's office, an internal Pentagon debate is well underway over whether goals should be lowered. Although Gen. David McKiernan, the U.S. and NATO commander in Afghanistan, has requested four more U.S. combat brigades, some Pentagon strategists believe a smaller presence of Special Forces and trainers for Afghan forces -- and more attention to Pakistan -- is advisable. Bush's ideological objective of a modern Afghan democracy, several officials said, is unattainable with current U.S. resources, and there is optimism that Obama will have a more realistic view. A number of senior officers also look with favor on Obama's call for talks with Iran over Iraq and Afghanistan, separating those issues from U.S. demands over Tehran's nuclear program. One of the biggest long-term military issues on Obama's plate will be the defense budget, currently topping 4.3 percent of gross domestic product once war expenditures are included. Obama has said he will increase the size of the Army and the Marine Corps, finding savings in the Iraq drawdown and in new scrutiny of spending, including on contractors, weapons programs and missile defense. They know the money is coming down, a Pentagon official said of the uniformed services, and many welcome increased discipline. But itIt Polling analyst Jennifer Agiesta and research Editor Alice Crites contributed to this report.

This is an article published by msnbc. We all know msnbc is a left-wing liberal rag. They have a lot to lose if the O is found ineligible, hence, they use their positions in the media to lie and try to sweep the issue under the rug. The judge that ruled against the case was from Philadelphia. This judge was also afraid to rule against Obama. Judge R. Barclay Surrick is also a Clinton appointee. Hence, he wants a democrat president. Additionally, this was not Judge SurrickConflict of Interest. It is most obvious that the order to Judge Surrick was written by DNC laywers. My my...what a small world. The case is being brought to the Supreme Court to include the above reasons. Additionally, Berg stated... What happened to ‘…Government of the people, by the people, for the people,…’ Abraham Lincoln in his Gettysburg Address 1863. Additionally, the people in Hawaii who keep claiming theyit is okay (take my word for it, I are none other than Obama supporters and backers. I for one am glad this is going to the Supreme Court. If they determine it is not okay and the O is ineligible, you will still have a democrat as President, so what is everyone whining about.

No one is "whining" [2008-11-29]
The b/c is right there on Factcheck for your purusal. Have at it. I should expect that the fact of the matter is that if Obama were to be disqualified (WHICH HE WILL NOT), the election would have to be redone because Biden was appointed by Obama so how could he be the next president if he was appointed by someone ineligible to be president in the first place? Can you POSSIBLY imagine what would happen to this country if Obama was declared to be ineligible????? Stop and think about it. MAYBE the congress would declare McCain the winner after all, I don That IS what all of you and the b/c issue are hoping isn't it?

Repeat - Factcheck is not a reliable source, Repeat - no reliable [2008-11-29]
You keep citing Factcheck and we keep having to tell you Factcheck is not reliable. Why is it not reliable? Because it is funded by the Annenberg Foundation in which Obama is part of. AND because Obama was Chairman of the Board. It really is like talking to a wall. So let me repeat and read this nice and slow. Factcheck...not a reliable source. Cheese-o-Pete...you might as well just say you asked Michelle Obama and she said it's real. Additionally....the b/c they put up there was found to be a forgery. So...once again...factcheck not reliable...b/c submitted was a forgery. So are you a fortune teller? You don't know if he will be elected or disqualified and neither do I. If the SC comes back and says he is legite I will drop the subject. If they find anything out of the ordinary then I will most likely say I told you so. If they say he's not legite but we'll change the constitution just for him, then I will be madder than a hornet and you'll hear from me. But all in all I will be satisfied with what the SC says. We won't know what their decision is until they make it. If it comes back that he is ineligible and he lied, he better do some explaining to this country about why and he better calm his worshippers down. I think overall the country will be okay. For as many supporters that he has there are an equal number of people who don't support him and view him to be ineligibile. There are even people who support him, but are saying...wait a minute here, things are not adding up. Just show us the certificate and be done with it. In fact more so now since all this info came out and many people upset about it that they didn't know ahead of time. As for what I think will happen. I really don't know. I do believe that quite possibly Hillary will step in and become President because she is the one that he wronged by campaigning when he knew he did not meet qualifications. So I believe probably she will become the next President and Biden will remain VP, or Biden will step in as President and she becomes VP. I highly doubt the SC will just elect McCain because the republican party did not win and now that we have a congress/senate that's all democrat (or mostly democrat) they would prevent that somehow. As for McCain? Heck no I didn't want him in there. I wanted one of the following - Chuck Baldwin from the constitutional party (but he had no chance whatsoever). I was also interested in Ron Paul or Dennis Kucinich. I really like Dennis Kucinich. I agreed with a lot of his ideas (especially impeachment of Bush) and I have agreed with a lot of what he has voted on in the past. So maybe what I would really like to see happen is if the O is disqualified to have another mini campaign. All the candidates can run again and then the public decides after one or two months of campaigning. So, instead of having a President inaugerated in January they could be inaugerated in February or March. It would be different, but nothing like this has ever happened before. I'll just say this on the whole b/c issues and this is why I say this and I hope you can understand where I'm coming from. 1. Let me first say I voted for Obama in the primaries. So in no way do I hate him or a racist or whatever else people want to throw out. I voted for him because he has some ideas I thought were good (thought is the key word). 2. After he was elected I read about the stolen election from Hillary (even though I was way so not supportive of her). I started learning about his lies to the people. His dealings with Ayers, ACORN, Wright, Farrakhan etc, etc. 3. He funds different groups who create websites to detract from the issues. 4. The media treated him like a prince while trashing McCain/Palin. I was no fan of theirs by all means but what happened to them was uncalled for. 5. The b/c he put up on the factcheck site was found to be a forgery. 6. We find out he's born in Kenya and legally goes and has the records sealed, along with his school records. He is hiding something and that is not very reassuring for over half the country here. 7. His grandmother was in the room when he was born along with his sister and brother. 8. His sister mentions multiple hospitals he was born at, while Obama mentions something totally different. Those are only a few of the issues that are my concerns about his legitimacy. On the other hand you have the issues/policies of his that I don't agree with and am finding out more and more how unsafe our country is going to be. The incident in India has the you know what scared out of me and the thought of that happening here in our country is a real issue for me. I was in the US Army. I spent 8 years in the service defending the country. It just makes me a bit upset to hear that people don't care if the Constition is not upheld, just so Obama gets in no matter what. All I want is the Constituion protected. That's all I'm asking for. Our founding fathers created it for a reason and we need to abide by it and not change it. I saw where Barney Franks tried to change it so that a foreign born could become president as long as they had been a citizen for 20 years (it was quite odd timing because not too much longer after that Obama decides to run and then we find there is a forged b/c. Timing of all this is just way too suspicious. All I say is let the supreme courts decide. That is what they are there for. I have read articles that say The Supreme Courts job is to protect the constitution and even if it means that a decision they make is not going to be popular, they are bound by their duty to defend the Constitution and they will. So, once more I want to repeat that Factcheck is not reliable source because Obama/Annenberg Foundation and Factcheck are one in the same.

There are also other far more credible sites...sm [2008-11-29]
which give valid information as to why it is not real. The whole point to this, GP, is not JUST the birth certificate. This plays into a much larger picture in which Obama appears to be unqualified in terms of foreign policy and experienced in so many other areas. It has to do with past associations and shady current assoociations, who is backing him, how he rose through the ranks so quickly, some if not all of his campaign platform and plans for this country, some of the statements he has made that sound positively socialist if not marxist and the way the American people have been so capitivated by him. It's not even about McCain being POTUS because I can tell you that, even though I voted for him, I have some doubts about him just as you do about Obama. It is about the safety of our nation, laws being upheld on EVERY level (yeah, I know all about Bush, this isn't about him) and the future of our nation. The BC is just the tip of the iceberg.

Re FactCheck, I'm a [2008-11-29]
democrat, and there have been plenty of times through the years that FactCheck and Snopes have posted facts/findings that I haven't liked and that were none to flattering, so I do believe both sources try to stick to FACTS. And as far as everything else you posted, I agree 100%! How can ANYONE with a brain still argue against a certified birth certificate AND an old birth announcement from the newspaper archives?! People are grasping at straws. But then again, these are people who think the country was doing great under republicans, that Iraq attacked the WTC, and who don't even recognize the impending DEPRESSION Bush threw us into, which McCain would've continued exactly the same, so what else can you expect from these people.

I've posted enough [2008-11-29]
you shoudl know that I research everything but my decisions come from credible soruces...the horse I ended up voting for Obama, not that I supported him, but because we sure didn Has no one researched him????? John McCain bragged he had agreed with him more than 90% of the time. I still have reservations about Obama but time will tell. It has become obvious to me that the posters who continue to post on this forum and probably any other politics forum they can find, have an agenda and it is not the Constitution they claim to be protecting. I hope you have researched the people who are fostering these frivilous lawsuits.

Birth certificates in general [2008-11-29]
No I did not watch the youtube link you posted. That is definitely not a credible source for such an important issue as this. The CERTIFIED copy on Factcheck (and never mind discussing the credibility of Fact check) should be enough, it shows the fold marks and clearly the certification and signature. Many, many years ago, I worked in a small hospital and in addition to my MT-ing, part of my job was to obtain birth certificate applications from new moms. I know that my birth certificate has the AGE of my parents at my birth, not their birth dates. It also lists the state in which they were born. I do not know what Hawaii requirements for birth certificates are but when it is certified by the STATE I would assume it to be legitimate. The hospital issued birth certificate is not and never has been to my knowledge, a legal document. With the furious campaining done by Hillary and McCain, do you not even stop to think that if they had not been absolutely certain that his birth certificate was legitimate they wouldn Saying otherwise is ridiculous. They had no problemtrashing him with Ayers, etc. up until Day Last did they? Anything to try to knock him out of the race. So are you saying they are part of the conspiracy to cover up ObamaCome on.....legitimate MTs are more intelligent than that. Since I don't know you, I have no idea if you are an MT or not.

That's it? sm [2008-11-29]
That McCain agreed with Bush 90% of the time? While I believe Bush has made mistakes and I donstudied the candidates and made informed decisions when voting in this election. I say horse hockey! I bet of you stopped 10 people on any street in any city of this country and asked them to tell you what Obama's platform or who his running mate was, they couldn't tell you. Oh, wait..... Howard Stern already did that. As for other political forums, I do read some of them but I donresearch and as a way to understand what people think of the current state of politics in our nation. I read both pro Obama sites and anti Obama sites to try to understand the mindset of each side and make my decisions based on what I believe to be true. I also read news sites of both genres. You are not the only person who does her research.

There are also those more level-headed Obama opponents [2008-11-29]
the country first message of the McCain campaign and who realize how dangerously destructive this divisive rhetoric can be. They have shown the courage and wisdom to embrace the outcome of the election and made the decision to MOVE FORWARD along with the rest of us. That would account for the additional support reflected in the 75%.

What are you trying to say here? [2008-11-29]
every single former McCain supporter is onboard with this birth certificate lunacy? You really do not think that the more level-headed among the pubs are not capable of moving forward for the sake of the country? You think they are constitutionally incapable of at least giving Obama a fair chance AFTER he takes office. If that is your premise, then you are the one who needs to post credible sources.

Whatever, GP, ...... sm [2008-11-29]
Bush is a politician. Do you take what comes out of his mouth as credible? Clinton (both of them) is a politician. Do you believe every word that man ever said? How about Nixon? Factcheck, as has been verified many times, is directly linked to Obama, both in that he has been on the board and in that Factcheck has received funding either from him or his supporters, thereby rendering it biased and unreliable. Again, you refuse to look at anything that speaks against Obama and offers the other side of the story.

How did Obama vote in the bailout issue..... sm [2008-11-29]
and what did he have to say about it? To the Democrats and Republicans who opposed this plan yesterday, I say step up to the plate and do what he said. And to all Americans, I say this: If and when I am president of the United States, this rescue plan will not be the end of what we do to strengthen this economy, it will only be the beginning. Tony Fratto, White House spokesman said, Obama blasted Congress Monday for not passing the rescue package, while McCainpolitics ahead of country. Looks to me like Obama is just as much at fault as the *gasp* Republicans for throwing good money after bad...or is bad after worse....money into a scheme with no real plan in place beforehand. At least they made the big 3 come up with a plan.

so sick of reading this crap [2008-11-29]
do u really think that if O was not legally able to be pres because of his b/c that McCain and his campaign wouldnt have been the first to point this out? Anyways, who really cares????? There are WAY more important issues to be arguing about. People get way upset about a stupid b/c but they condone things like abortion! Give me a break! The things people choose to stand up for sometimes amazes me.

Yes, he has. Where've you been? [2008-11-29]
Do you think the Dems would've let him run if he could be disqualified? Do you think McCain wouldn't have made it front and center if his high-paid dirt-diggers could've found ANYTHING? Just because you wish it to be true doesn't make it true.

I'm willing to give the man a fair chance... [2008-11-29]
...the exact same way I gave George W. Bush a fair chance even though I didn It was only after he was in office and I saw his contempt for the Constitution and for anyone who wasn It was his very own actions that formed that opinion, not partisan hearsay. If this issue is legitimate, why in the world aren't Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingraham and/or any of the other right-wing media screaming it from the rooftops? If this issue is legitimate, why in the world didn't Hillary Clinton or John McCain scream it from the rooftops? The SC will meet this coming Friday, in private (five days before the EC votes) to discuss whether or not they will hear this case. If the SC goes against the will of the people in this nation and selects the US President again, then the mayhem that will result will make it very easy for George W. Bush to declare martial law (to control the masses) and officially promote himself to Dictator in Chief for an indefinite period of time. Perhaps that's the true goal of all of this. If somehow, the will of the people is upheld, we need to be a country of AMERICANS that bond together. We are living in very dangerous and challenging economic times right now. This isn It Something tells me, though, that you'll find a way to blame Obama for the sins of Bush, regardless of what happens. As for me, I I'm more concerned with legitimate problems facing this country, as they are extremely serious, real and potentially life threatening. Have at it all you want. I won I want to be a part of the America that supports its President, especially in these emergent times, not the small, bitter minority that will never give Obama a chance. He could wind up being the best President we've ever had, but sadly, some people will never even realize it.

You are the one woh needs a brush up. [2008-11-29]
When the electoral college overturns the popular vote, it happens because the delcared victor has won the states with the most electoral votes....the way Obama has done with a WAY more than ample margin of 192 PROJECTED electoral votes. There were 3 times this happened, not 4 as you claim(did you read your own article?). The 4th time was when the electoral votes were tied and the House of Represenatives decided the election (1824). In the other 3 instances, the widest margin of difference between the popular votes was 3.1% (in the 1876 election)...less than half the 6.8% margin Obama holds over McCain. The popular vote margin of difference in 1888 was only 0.8% and in 2000, even less at 0.5% (with considerable help from a little fraud and voter suppression here and there). So the answer to the other poster's question would be NO, in history the election has never been overturned by the electoral college with this wide of a margin....NOT EVEN CLOSE. That would make her premise valid....you'd be grasping at straws. Suck it up. Obama is our next president.

Of all the headlines out there, THIS is the one [2008-11-28]
Your entire post is based on the false premise that Obama is foreign born. I have already addressed this preposterous notion numerous times over the campaign season and will not waste my time presenting irrefutable facts to those who have no interest in reality beyond the speculation, gossip and outlandish fabrications of the disenfranchised. Would you mind citing the right-wing rag sources of your so-called headlines? I am asking you for this information because I do not find the ignorance displayed in the fringe right's hate blogs the least bit entertaining or enlightening. Beyond Focks News, there is not one single media outlet (and I read and listen to numerous national and international sources on a daily basis) that carries this garbage bag around. Your first dose of reality should be that the thousands of demanding people are not the slightest bit interested in the truth. They have been confronted with it time and time again on this issue, yet continue to reject any and all factual substance in an effort to keep their divisive and hate-filled agenda alive at a time when clearly the country has their eyes turned in a completely opposite direction. Denial will not change the fact that this IS nothing more than sour grapes perpetuated by a handful of Hillary supporters who do not have the sense to follow their own leader's lead in support of the very much American President-Elect and driven by all sorts of myopic, loopy fringe elements. These folks care nothing about honoring the Constitution, much less the will of the American voters, but rather make a mockery of it by their frivolous law suits and show utter contempt and disregard for the clear majority of their fellow citizens who have handed the highest office in the land to Obama. Please spare us the pontification about your detractors who you perceive fear the truth. Like I just said, this has nothing to do with the truth. You and your ilk would not know the truth if it walked up and slapped you in the face. Hillary sucked up her disappointment in defeat and has now hopped onboard for the sake of the nation. It's time you folks follow suit. The courts have spoken already on this issue and will be repeating themselves yet again. The only destiny that lays ahead for your claims is patent dismissal as frivolous and unfounded. There is no question that lays beyond that action that merits further discussion....either on this board or in the courts. Obama is not the one who has created all the suspicion and doubt....it is the fringe bull-dog blogosphere that has done that single-handedly...and they seem mighty smug and proud of themselves, unable to recognize the contempt most Americans hold for this most unwelcome, delusional distraction. I am unable to address the content of any article you have cited here in the absence of a source. You may choose to ponder the is he or isn question to your heartcaptivated by this MINISCULE SEGMENT of the blogosphere. It is unbelievable to me that of all the headlines, including the horror of Indiaother worldliness of it all, you may have a moment of clarity of purpose, and can Transcend your fantasies long enough to dredge up a little compassion for the residents of Mumbai and some respect for this somber histoical moment we find ourselves suspended in the day after Thanksgiving. I for one would welcome a discussion on possible implications of the yet to be identified message and source of Indiayou rhetoric that has served us so poorly these past 7 years since the WTC attacks.

For someone who............ sm [2008-11-28]
says they don You did pose an interesting question, however, about why no mainstream media seems to be interested in this story. I have to wonder further why Hillary and McCain both seemed to just roll over and concede to Obama. Pontificate for a while, won And PLEASE try to read it with the open mind that you lefties so proudly boast about.

Author of this link is an acid-mouthed witch hunting hate monger [2008-11-28]
has made a career out of spreading division and hate. She makes Michele Malkin look like a Marxist comrade. She is Anti Obama, Anti-Hillary, Anti-Democrat, anti-liberal, Anti-McCain (heliberal, Pro-Palin and (gt this) Pro-Bush. She positively worhips the guy. I reviewed the titles of her newspaper articles and WITHOUT EXCEPTION she publishes these types of articles. Some of her more notable titles: 1. Obama's Contempt for our Constitution. 2. In Palin-Gibson Throwdown--Gov Get A, Media F (I am SO SURE). 3. Where is Obama's TESTICULAR Fortitute? (little trash mouth). 4. Ding Dong, the With Is Dead...referring to Hillary's defeat in the primaries. 5. Barack Obama's Snake Oil. 6. Is Hillary Mentall Ill? 7. Hillary's Slapped-Around-By-Men Problem Bodes Ill for the Presidency. 8. The STELLAR Legacy of George W. bush. 9. The Rest of the World Loves President Bush (this woman needs some serious antipsychotic drugs). 10. Liberals Don't Support Our Troops. If she were in the same room with me, the only way I could control my urge to deck her would be to remove myself from her presence over this outrage. 11. Pathology of Liberalism. 12. Hillary: Typical Actions of an Abused Woman. 13. The 7 Deadly Sins of Liberals. You see, this is why citing sources matters. Credibility....NOT. She is a fanatic hawking a hateful agenda. No surprise there that she would be onboard with this BC lunacy.

Obama "I am the change" - Liberals want a refund [2008-11-28]
It used to be yes we can, now it's yes I can and I am the change. http://www.bigmouthfrog.org/2008/11/27/obama-tells-supporters-i-am-the-change/

I stand behind our military too but [2008-11-28]
I sure as heck am not going to stand behind a president who sends our young men and women in harms way for his own personal gain and that of his oil cronies. What happened to bin Laden? Don And how about McCain saying he knew how to get him. How anyone who can support this administration and this war is beyond me.IsnMission Iraqi Freedom now? What about 9/11? Who has paid for that? And today Iraq has given us permission to stay for 3 more years? Permission??? We have no business meddling in their business to begin with. Wasn't Bushes and Sadam friends before they became enemies???

No, all my ranting and raving isn't going to change the past [2008-11-28]
but ALL of us are going to have to live with the past 8 years of Bushes lies and deceit and you worry about an Obama birth certificate. Those of you who cry for a hospital birth certificate, may I educate you that a hospital birth certificate is nothing more than an application. I don my name spelled incorrectly, has been all that has ever been required for me and I see no reason why a CERTIFIED copy of Obama's birth certificate isn't good enough for you...except maybe you're still hoping the election will be nullified and your McCain will still yet take over......GOD FORBID!

Duo take Obama birth challenge to Court [2008-11-28]
Wow, I believe we have some sore losers! From NBC’s Pete Williams When the justices of the U.S. Supreme Court meet on Dec. 5th, in their regular private conference to decide which cases to hear, two lawsuits that have captivated a segment of the blogosphere will be up for discussion. Both urge the court to consider claims that President-elect Obama is not qualified to be president, because he is not a natural-born American citizen. Persistent concerns about the qualifications of both major party candidates rank among the oddest aspects of 2008's historic campaign. Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution provides that No person except a natural born citizen is eligible to be president. John McCain's status was questioned because he was born in the Panama Canal Zone and various theories have been advanced to cast doubt on Obama's. Lawsuits over the inclusion of their names on state general-election ballots popped up around the country and were quickly dispensed with by local courts. But two challengers have pursued their cases to the Supreme Court. Pennsylvania lawyer Philip Berg claims that the circumstances of Obama's birth are vague and that he may have been born in Kenya. Obama's mother, Berg asserts, later flew to Hawaii to register the birth. Leo Donofrio, a New Jersey lawyer, contends that election officials in his state failed to ensure that only legally qualified candidates were placed on the ballot. Obama may have been born in the United States, Donofrio argues, but natural born status depends on both parents being American citizens. Obama's father was Kenyan. The justices are unlikely to take up these cases for a host of reasons, not the least of which is the invitation to overturn the results of an election in which more than 66 million Americans voted for Obama. An equally high hurdle is the issue of whether Berg or Donofrio have the legal right to sue claiming a violation of the Constitution. In dismissing Bergis no greater and his status no more differentiated than that of millions of other voters. Other courts presented with similar challenges have reached the same conclusion, ruling that there is no general legal right to sue over the Constitution's eligibility requirements. Federal courts typically reject claims of legal standing based simply on a litigant's status as a voter or taxpayer. The Obama campaign had hoped to end the controversy last spring by releasing his actual Hawaii birth certificate. But that prompted further questions about its authenticity, which were compounded when state authorities in Hawaii said they could not vouch for it, because they were constrained by the privacy laws. Then, on Oct. 31st, the director of HawaiiSen. Obama which shows that he was born there.
