I've had that same dream about being back in school and can't remember my locker combination, my class schedule, anything! I'm panicking because I'm late to class...like that ever made me panic when I really was in HS. That's weird, I often wondered if anyone else had dreams like that. To the OP, I dream about my ex-boyfriend all the time. I don't know what it means, I don't think about him or anything. Just some nights will dream that he's there and it's the first time I've seen him since we broke up (well over 20 years ago), but by the time I get to where he's at, he's gone...wish I did know what it meant.

Now that is weird! I have the same recurring dream about my locker in high school. It was on the third floor and I did sometimes have trouble going up and down the stairs in 5 minutes to get my stuff. Strange. I have been told that being lost in the airport (which I also dream) is performance anxiety.

nada? No money in a card either? I can't believe what I am reading. LOL. Here is how it works.. for a shower they usually want a gift off the registry which just about everyone has these days. If not registered then about a 30-50 dollar gift depending on how close you are or gift card, etc. And for weddings, wrapped gifts are always tacky mostly because they are awkward, much harder for the bride and groom to take care of at/after the wedding (have someone collect the gifts and deliver later?, collect themselves which is tacky, receive yet another item they don't need and/or want), and so ALL brides and grooms expect MONEY. Weddings are very expensive. Mine was over 10000 a while back and if all 60 or so couples brought me a gift I would have been VERY upset. Sorry but it's true. I think most people who bring gifts are the ones who don't want to spend much or don't want people to know what they spent but that's just my opinion. Otherwise, why wouldn't they just put the money in a card and give them something they can really use? Even if you don't have much money, 25.00 is better than more crystal champagne glasses or yet another picture frame that so doesn't match the decor. Okay, done. Sorry......I was on a roll. LOL

Well, now it's my turn to tell my story...(Beware..this is long) [2008-06-29]
Well, I just don I was 26 years old when I met and married my husband. It will be14 years ago this August. I was a platinum blond, Swedish, 26-year-old, voluptuous virgin waiting for my prince to come. I had never dated because I was too fearful and shy. My mother always told me that my prince was coming. She just didnthe prince of darkness. It has been a nightmare, although he says it has been great with only a few bumps along the way. He is abusive in every way including verbally, mentally, emotionally, some physical although very little (not an excuse, just telling it the way it is), what I feel is sexual abuse with me but not the children,but the worst by far is his financial abuse. She could only pay $45 a week but I would drive up there four days a week to watch those kids just to get that measly $45. One day when I was leaving to go, I wanted $2 for an ice cream cone (I was pregnant at the time and that was my thing during that pregnancy). I asked him for $2 and he said no. I reached into his wallet and took $2 anyway. So he came after me. I took out the butcher knife but he ran outside to get to the car first so I couldn I put away the knife and ran out the back door to try to get to the car first but he got there before me. I reached in to try to grab the car keys out of the ignition when he rolled the window up as hard as he could. I was screaming at the top of my lungs. I thought he was going to break my arm. I was able to backhand him and he unrolled the window. A little while later I ran to the neighbors to call the police because he ripped the phone lines out. I was there for about 15-20 minutes calling the police, family, and my friends to come and help. When I got back to the house, he had taken both cars (hid one in the neighborhood) and went to work. He left my 9-month-old and 1 1/2-year-old children all by themselves (and at the time I lived on a very busy street where cars would drive by at 50 mph). When I walked in, they were sitting on the living room floor screaming at the top of their lungs. The next morning I was in the shower and I lifted up my arms to wash my hair when out of the corner of my eye I saw something on the underside of my arm. It was a jet black bruise about four to five inches long by about two inches wide. It was literally jet black. I was stunned. When I called the police, I told them what was going on with his abuse. I told them I was pregnant with two little ones at home. I told them I had no food. I told them and showed them the bruise and I told them I wanted to press assault charges. They said, He did that to you? I said yes. I said, I want him arrested for assault. I told them where he worked. They turned around and told me that because the incident happened the day before that there was nothing they would do and that they weren They told me to just let him lie low for a while. This happened in 1996. We are not talking the 50s here. This was just before they handed me a pamphlet on battered women and battered women The pamphlet said there does not have to be any sign of physical abuse. If you are in a situation where you simply fear for your safety, the person can be arrested. And I am sitting there pregnant with ahuge, jet black bruise underneath my arm from where he rolled my arm up in the window. This is just a few tidbits of the life I have had with him. There have been some good times and good vacations but mostly bad. We have fought so bad for years and years that I know the toll it has taken on the kids. The guilt I have is insurmountable. If he buys groceries, I have to pay him back. If he pays the phone bill, I have to pay him back. If he buys me anything or gives me a $10 or $20 bill, I have to pay him back. Most of the time, I am not allowed to go into a store with him. I went with him once to Wal-Mart and I put a $2 box of sweetener into the carriage. That was it. I am now not allowed to go into a store with him. He screams at us that he pays the rent, therefore, it is his house and we have to learn to live the way he wants us to and we should be catering to him. If we don He has told me for years that he is a king and that the house is his castle and that he has allowed us to live with him because he is kind, loving, and gracious. He will only buy oneChristmas gift for his kids and no stocking stuffers or tape or wrapping paper or anything like that.I have to do that with what I get paid to do MT work. He would take their little pants and cut them off and then take their turtleneck shirts and cut off the turtle neck and cut off the sleeves and say, There you go. There Or he would just tell me, Go ask your sister to buy them some clothes. He has threatened to kill me and the children if I leave. He has told me that he would kill me and the children before I would ever see child support. He has a sex fettish where he wants it all the time, every day multiple times in a day if he could get it (not that he does, mind you. I stopped that crazy crap a long time ago), and I am just supposed to stop all that I am doing and fulfill his needs (even though sex for me offers virtually nothing other than soreness,swelling, and boredom and has always been like this). If I don I am very overweight, I smoke like a chimney, my credit is destroyed, I don I have less now 14 years later than I did before I married him. At least before I married him I had my own very nice car and some clothes. I don My clothes are tattered, stained, and worn. And...I had dreams of what my life was going to be like when I got married. But it certainly was not a life like this. My kids are older now and they are seeing their father for who he is. He blames me and tells me it is all the bad stuff I am telling the children. I keep telling him it is what they have seen for 14 years. They beg me to divorce him. My youngest, who is 11, was diagnosed last year with severe ulcerative colitis. He has had a flare now for the past six weeks with at least ten bouts of diarrhea with blood every day. He talks about depression a lot and always asking me what it is. When I got the call last year from his pediatrician telling me to take him to the hospital for a possible blood transfusion (this was when we got his diagnosis), Ialmost fell on the floor from fear. I called my husband at work to tell him he needed to come home. He said, I can I have to work. He said, Don His red blood cell count had dropped to 7.2 froma normal of 12 because of his bleeding. He came to the hospital when he got out of work. He showed up at 6:00 p.m. We went outside and talked for a bit and then about 20 minutes after he showed up, he said, Well, I have to go home to eat and shower. I When I got angry, he said Hey, I I need to rest. Besides, there We still didn I didn I was scared to death. But he had to go home to eat and shower and rest!!!! I think that was the beginning of the end for me. I once read something on these boards that someone posted saying Marriage is not supposed to be a good deal for one and misery for the other. That is what my life has been. My marriage was a great deal for him...kids that he never has to pay for (I mean nothing...not school projects and believe me there are a ton of them, not clothes, not shoes, notebooks, backpacks, nothing), free sex, and a wife that he doesn I believe in my soul that my marriage was a good business deal for him. If you knew my husband, you would laugh at that statement because he is extremely uneducated and talks like a mentally retarded person. People in the past have actually asked me if he was mentally retarded. He thinks that if my son would drink lots and lots of water, that that will cure his ulcerative colitis and makes fun of me and insults me and everyone else. Itell him he is a moron and he doesn His abusive mother made them drink nothing but water. She would not buy them anything or strive for a better life. They lived in a nightmare life. So now he gets very angry when we woncure everything. He tells us that he is trying to show us how to live right but we just won He tells this to other people too including our landlord. He picks scabs and eats them, he has eczema and psoriasis so he is one huge flake, which he enjoys picking off chunks and dropping them in a pile on the floor, he passes unbearable gas (like every two or three minutes that has such a horrid stench it makes all of us nauseous) and then flips out if we spray a room spray. He will actually grab the can and scream that this is his house and we are all just disgusting to live with and just impossible to live with. He just had a fight with my 12-year-old daughter tonight because he was passing tons and tons of gas and she sprayed a room spray. He got up in her face screaming at the top of his lungs at 11:00 at night that this is his house. He will pass gas all he wants and that he won She was crying and begging me to divorce him. She kept saying, You said it would be better for the family if you stayed married to him but it It won Well, I could go on and on. It has been 14 years of this but I think you get the picture. I have no money. I don I have a son who is going to need ongoing frequent medical care and I am afraid he will cancel the insurance if I do anything to get rid of him. I have a great fear for our safety. He has major problems with having to give up his money so to haveto pay child support will send him over the edge. Yesterday, I got a call from QVC. I had ordered a GPS system for my hubby and QVC called to say they were unable to complete processing of my order because my credit card wouldn QVC said the address I gave them as the billing address did not match the billing address of my credit card. I asked the rep to hold on while I pulled my credit card account up on line. When I did, I saw that my address and phone number had been changed to somewhere in TX (I live in PA). I told QVC I would have to call them back. I immediately called the credit card company. They pulled up my account and said that yes my address had been changed just a few days ago. When I asked how, they couldn They did not know if it was done on-line or by telephone. This, I don If someone called in to change it, shouldn Furthermore, if it was changed on-line, wouldn At any rate, it was changed, and my cc company tried to contact me to verify it by calling the new phone number given. (Makes no sense). Having received no answer, they sent a letter to me, which I have yet to get. One day after changing my address, someone made a $10 on-line purchase with cc account, which went through. Immediately following that, a $4500 on-line purchase was attempted to be put through. This one the cc company did not allow (thank God for small miracles). After having all of this explained to me, I was then transferred to an Identity Theft Specialist, who would help me close this account and reopen another one as well as put into action security alerts for me. For the next 7 years, my credit report will be flagged as a fraud alert, meaning that if anyone tries to open a new account in my name, the lender will have go through extensive verification to confirm it I I also had to file a report with my local police, which I doubt will accomplish anything. Local police are not trained in the same manner as state police, and I don We will see. I did, however, write down the address and the phone number that my account was changed to. My husband called the number last night from his cell phone and no one answered. He left a message stating he was looking for my name and to please return his call to his number. They immediately called back, but when my husband answered, they said nothing. They called back again later that night and did the same thing. Here I told her that apparently I was a victim of identity theft. She said that I said what do you mean and she proceeds to tell me that there have been a lot of account takeovers with this particular company and that it was determined to be an inside job. This left me feeling less than secure about setting up a new account with that company. It also makes me wonder if that My husband says as soon as the new account is set up, we Fortunately, this cc company has 0% identity theft liability, so we will not be responsible for the charges that did go through. However, the bigger concern here is that this person obviously has enough personal information about me to set up new accounts without my knowledge; hence, the reason for the fraud alerts on my credit report. I am so furious, if I ever get my hands on this person, I My husband and I have worked hard all our lives to have good credit and some skuzbucket thinks he can just come along and take it. I don I intend to pursue this fully. If it is an inside job, I will make sure that this credit card company does something about its current employee background checks. So, take a minute today and call your credit companies or go on-line and check to make sure that noone has changed your address and phone number.

Let me see.......how many teen CHOOSE to have sex with 40 year olds. I am not really meaning by choice but what is ACCEPTED in their culture/religion. None. I live in the dam bible belt and hate it. I am not religious. I am realistic and this whole case scenario was not even realistic. The State of Texas by returning those children made a HUGE mistake. I think this can be a little tricky with kids. Children's imaginations are developing and they are learning so many new things, not to mention they do not always know the meaning of things or understand reasons for the way things may be done. Adults on the other hand, I think their dreams do mean something. I think it is their subconscious talking to them. Things they regress coming to the surface. I know I have had some kooky dreams before and they seem to take place when I am struggling with something. I wouldn't put too much into it with an 8 yr old, I have a child who is 10, sometimes they just have bad dreams at that age. If it is something that happens regularly or your heart tells you your child is struggling with something emotionally, it might be worth looking into therapy.

I would like to know more about your gift. When did you discover you had this gift. How does it manifest itself exactly? Do you have dreams foreseeing future things. I have a friend who has episodes far and between. And she has dreamed different friends of hers were pregnant and she would find out later that they were and she has had other dreams more real dreams of things that made no sense but then later something would happen that was from the dream. Very weird. She was totally freaked out. It happened a lot while she was pregnant. But then after she had her baby it hasn't happened anymore.

From this post, my reaction is that she doesn't sound self-centered to me if she offered to take him in her house. That can be some hard work to take on. It sounds like she has the way she would take care of him and you have the way you would take care of him, and both your ways are different. That does not make her selfish, IMO. She is contributing the way she sees fit, and you are contributing the way you see fit. Unfortunately, this is a pickle. If he is unable to care for himself because of all his conditions, there has to be some sort of compromise with his situation, meaning he will have to change his living arrangements in some way with home health or something along those lines OR change where he is living. I am not sure what his level of disability is from the post, because while blindness is a disability, it does not mean one cannot live by himself. I don't know how far the RA or heart problems are from your post. You can take him to his PCP and he or she may have some ideas for you and some decent referrals as well.

Try not to stress. When I started working for ahospital as an MT about 13 years ago, they required a physical and the doc felt a lump on my thyroid and I was referred to an endocrinologist. They did an ultrasound, didn Then they had me do a thyroid uptake (take a radioactive medication and then they scan your thyroid to see how much the thyroid gland takes up). It turns out I had a hot nodule. My thyroid levels have been checked regularly since then and have been in the normal range, though do vary a bit, except during pregnancy. So I have just been watching the nodule for years. About 3 years ago when I visited the endo he felt a second nodule close to the first one, so now I have two. Until the nodules start messing with my thyroid levels, they are just monitoring them. If it starts messing with my levels, then I Ihot or cold. The hot nodules are active, which is what mine is, meaning that the nodule in my thyroid is conducting the majority of the activity while suppressing my thyroid gland, but as long asit makes the proper amount of thyroid hormone and doesnI am okay. I A cold nodule is inactive and has a higher chance of being cancerous. That is probably one reason they referred you quickly, just to get the ball rolling to check it and make sure it Don So it will probably turn out to be just fine, but you should definitely have it checked out to know exactly what you are dealing with and make sure it isn Hope that helps!

Okay MTs, here Made an appointment at American Glasses ended up costing me over $250.00! When I picked them up one pair was broken! They fixed on the spot � I took them home � cannot wear either pair, as they give me a headache. I had a feeling they wouldnto me. First off he tried to tell me there were special contract lens that would allow me to and I quote see my dreams clearly. Okay � dreams are a brain function. You do not need prescription eye wear to see dreams! And in my opinion he violated HIPAA. While I was in the waiting area between testing for field vision etc. He informed me in front of others waiting in that same area of my tests results. My results are my business not any other patients in the waiting room. Anyway, I returned today to return the glasses for my money back � they advertise a 30-day return. They gave me nothing but grief. Only refunded me for $147.00 when I paid over $200.00 plus I had to pay for that advertised free eye exam (which I understand since I didn I�m livid. Iflipping ******didn Both glasses were supposed to be the same prescription yet one pair I could see distance somewhat okay, but got headaches/dizzy � the other pair � useless couldn I paid extra for coatings for anti-glare that I don Please don Others were in the same store when I was trying to get my money back for the same reasons. Anyway � long story short � did the eye doctor violate HIPAA in your opinions? My tests were okay � but that was my business. And if you believe he violated me . . . where do I report him? Man do I hate that phrase but guess it says it in this case. Why do people always assume we have to be indebted to our parents/children for the rest of our lives. As we get older this is the time we are suppose to take care of ourselves, and for once in our lives think about ourselves. We raised our children, watched them grow from children into adults, put them through school, rooted (sp?) for them at their sports games, supported their ups and downs, watched them proudly at their wedding, or supported them if they decided to be with another person and not marry. We did everything for them. Now when we are at the age of retirement and want to take time for ourselves and think about ourselves for a change we are called selfish and are supposed to feel guilty?????? Give me a break! So who is going to take care of us when we need it? Retirement is the age of me. That's not a selfish wish, it's what happens in life. Yes we are here to support our kids (emotionally - who are no longer kids), and financially if we can if they need it or if we want to slip them a $20 in their pocket from time to time for no reason, but I'm with the above poster. It's my golden years its now time for me! Life is about growing, knowing who we are, learning about ourselves. Society forces us to follow the bandwagon meaning...your born, you go to school, you graduate and get a job, you get married, have kids, watch your kids grow, retire and take time for yourself. Not once have I ever seen anything talking about getting to know oneselves before going and getting married to another. I do not believe we are born in life just to always take care of other people. if he were back on meth..That changes a person tremendously. I found out he was doing that when his son was very small- my son arrested- I went to pay his bond and thought for marijuana. When I heard the bondsman say meth I could not believe what I heard. He could have spent some time in jail- even though married I paid for a lawyer (he and his wife did not have the money)- so as I think back just wonder if that is what happened with his change. He had to go through drug rehab and his wife told me not to let her family know (meaning her father/mother, aunts and so). I have seen and talked with his father- never called him a deadbeat- others words, not mine- he could not even take care of himself so how could he take care of others? I think might have been the drugs as far as the dysfunctioning goes?

and it truly works! I smoked for 27 years and hated it, but never could stop. I started the Chantix and even before my quit date, it started to work. I would find myself not really wanting a cigarette and when I did smoke, there was absolutely no pleasure and it even made me feel a little sick to my stomach. I have been smoke-free for 31 days and some days I don't even think about it once except when I take the pills. As far as side effects, for the first week or so, I felt a little queasy right after I took it, but started making sure I took it after a meal. I also had terrible vivid dreams during that time, but those have since gone away. I was REALLY tired, but that has gone away as well. I just forced myself to deal with the side effects in the short-term because the smoking was much worse for me in the long-term.

and by 8:00 p.m., his wife, in her early 40s, had died. It was completely unexpected. She was not sick prior to this happening. That time he was right. I can count a zillion other times when his predictions and dreams were dead wrong. Nothing with UFOs, sorry. I remain a skeptic.

I had these nightmares for 20 years. . [2008-01-24]
I had these type of nightmares from the time I was 10 until I was about 32. I would also sleep walk. Once when I was 10, I woke up in a house down the street. It was kind of freaky because I couldn't get out of their house because all of the doors were locked. They were on vacation and no one was there to let me in. I just woke up on their couch. Most of the time, I would dream that I was in my room and a light was trying to pull me in. I would not be able to move and I could see everything in my room. I would have this dream almost every night. I would be terrified of going into the light. I never saw anything other than the light though. My parents would find me sleeping in front of their bedroom door in the mornings. I don't know if this had any thing to do with it, but these dreams started after my stepmom and I were playing with a Ouija board (I was 10). I didn't really understand what a bad thing it was at the time. The funny thing is, I have had pictures taken of me that and you could see a light over me. The dreams finally stopped after I had my first child at age 32. I didn't realize there was a name for these types of dreams. I am so glad they are gone!
