Who do you want to win? Winner announced tonight!! SM [2008-08-07]
There is no way I could make that decision. This season has just been amazing. I must say that Joshua is outstanding andjumps higher than I can believe. They are all so wonderful.
Yep, David A has to be the winner. He was last night. [2008-05-21]
I like David C also, but he just sounded like he was struggling. Just did not seem like he wants to win.
Does anyone have a fav winner? [2008-05-09]
I hated Richard Hatch (this has nothing to do with his sexuality) and was shocked when he won. Couldn't stand Rob and Amber and was so glad when they lost on the Amazing Race. I have only watched on and off this year, but from last years shows I really liked James. I was very suprised about what Eric did last night. Very gullible!
We play bingo and give out mystery gifts to the winner. Very simple.. [2007-12-01]
Every person who attends the party, bring 1 gift..they are all put under a little table tree and when someone wins a round of bingo, they select gift from under the tree. It can be a lot of fun if you get fun qwirky gifts. We all have a laugh at some of the gifts.
smegma is the winner for me...makes me cringe every time...ewwww [2007-11-16]
nm
A Lottery winner so we can be happily unemployed. [2007-09-26]
?
It started out with the final four SM [2008-08-08]
Katee, Courtney, Joshua and Twitch. Then they did the first elimination, which was Courtney and the second was Katee.
Then down to the final TWO: Joshua and Twitch.
JOSHUA IS THE FINAL WINNER!!!! $250,000 PRIZE!
I dearly loved Twitch too! When Joshua won Twitch hugged him and he held up Joshua
Isn't it awful [2008-06-22]
I was talking to my DH and told him (it is actually his half-brother going through this), and he agreed its hard to know what to say because his brother laughs about a lot of stuff (serious stuff and makes jokes out of it). So we have decided a sympathetic uh-huh is probably the most appropriate. I canmy dad always tells me that these people have died but they haven Talk about an ee-gads!
News story - did anyone else here this - too funny [2008-06-04]
I was just watching the news and there is a story about a lady who won a prize at some baseball game - her prize?.... a funeral and a casket. The catch. She has 30 years to claim her prize. We are just rofl.
I can hear the annoucement over the loudspeaker at the game.....And congrats to our winner Mrs. ----. You have just won....a buriel!
I haven't watched it yet, but [2008-05-21]
isn I know they I might be wrong on that, but I think that's what I remember reading somewhere when the show first started.
If that is the case, David C. would have been very smart not to come out on top last night. He definitely got great PR and exposure on the show, but now maybe can cut his own deal with AI getting any $$$.
As for the performers, I like them both but have been a DC fan up to this point. Of course, I haven't watched it yet (thank goodness for DVR), but DA is just a little too young for me and I like more the rock music.
YAY 4 DAVID COOK! [2008-05-21]
I finally picked the American Idol winner!!!
This morning on the Today show they [2008-04-11]
had a segment on it and an expert said that it was the same situation with Chris Daughtry 2 years ago. He is more credible as a performer because he was a finalist not the winner and therefore handed everything automatically. Hopefully it will be the same for Michael Johns.
AI - David Cook [2008-04-09]
My husband did not like him at all last night. I don't think he likes him period. He said he's very arrogant. My daughter and I have him pegged as the winner, although I didn't think he was as good as usual last night. On Dial Idol.com they have David Cook in the bottom three along with Carly and Syesha (Sorry if these are spelled wrong). I'm not sure what'll happen tonight.
American Idol [2008-04-02]
Anyone enjoying AI as much as I am? Any predictions on the winner?
Tricking my sweet hubby tonight, I am so excited! [2008-02-01]
I have to think long and hard about what to get my man for his b'day. He does not want me to buy clothing and the like, never. Well, he is on his way home and I told him I got him a coat today- he wanted to know did I save my receipt! I have spent a good portion of the day at Trader Joe's- Hub's job is 1 where he drives overnight and he seems to like crunches, say helps him stay awake. I have bought crackers, nuts, pretzels, chips, 2 or 3 different varieties of each, a small angel food cake, 5 cheeses, 2 sausages, salami, cookies, 2 kinds of bread, sourdough and wheat, a bottle of wine and a 6 pack of beer and next week on his off day planning a new restaurant outing that I am sure he will love. He is trying to get me to tell him where but, hey, I have to have a surprise left. I am so excited right now anticipating his arrival. He is thinking getting a coat (he,he) and I know better. Food is always a winner with him!
Well, according to their website WE DID get the most votes by over 100,000. So.... [2008-01-28]
I'm not sure how Lockport was declared the winner. Anyhow, YES, we are so blessed to have been given this MRI.
Anyone out there see Celebrity Apprentice last night notice...sm [2008-01-18]
that they didnsales trailer they won? It was obvious to my husband and myself that Gene Simmons really ticked off the Kodak people by not coming to their meeting and then the 2 gals he sent irritated them - so probably no matter what the other team did Kodak was determined to not let him win. Plus Gene basically had his adult version of a temper tantrum at the end of being mad that Kodak didn't name him the winner and therefore he named 2 people that weren't a problem with the challenge to take to the boardroom to make Donald fire him.
My mom had a couple of [2007-12-30]
brothers who wet the bed until they were about 13! There was no abuse and it was amodel household. Bedwetting is very common in boys. My brother also wet the bed until he was about 7 or 8. He quit when he got a brand new bed. My step-dad (ignoramus!) thought that proved he was being lazy, but this is a phenomenon that happens a lot, that a new bed stops the bedwetting. Michael Landon even made a movie about it.
My daughter wet the bed until she was about 4.(My two boys never did.)The solution for her was simply waking her up at about 12:30 every night and walking her to the bathroom. After about 3 or 4 days (I am not exaggerating) she never wet the bed again. That is all it took to train her body to wake up when her bladder was full. Ithathis mother, winner that she is,probably never thought about how she could help him solve this problem. It might be easier than you think.
Yep, been there too. They don't work. They could kill you before someone sm [2007-12-11]
got there to help you. Over the years, I did get my education and now am basically the bread winner. Got my own house so I didn't have to leave and haul the kids anymore, but now i can't get him to leave! I have nowhere to go that he wouldn't know where i was nor the money to go on.
Cat! To Wong Foo SLAYED me!! [2007-12-06]
Dudes in drag--always an instantwinner, but to see those guys in particular....I almost choked to death laughing! I forgot all about that movie...seems like eons ago! I This is a great thread and I I absolutely love to laugh and comedies are my absolute fave when it comes to movies!
Hayseed - see msg [2007-12-03]
The snow finally stopped and now comes the rain. This combination always make such a mess!
I was watching the WSDOT cam yesterday and that road is a four lane road where the cam is set. If you watched that particular camera you would notice that there were maybe 3 lanes of traffic and ALL of them were heading in one direction. The folks going the opposite direction were getting the squeeze. Of course, it was hard to tell where the laneswere because it was all compact snow and ice but dang!
The winner of the biggest snow driving dingbat (apparently MTStars says i*iot is a bad word) goes to the person who actually stopped and let the kids OUT of the car in the middle of the road to play in the snow while the adult cleaned off the windshield. I am not kidding! Lots of people were stopping in the middle of the road to clean off their windshields but this one let the kids out to play in the snow! Geesh!
Oh my goodness! I haven't been this passionate about something in a sm [2007-10-26]
LONG TIME! I so need your help, fellow MTs! I posted below about a local hospital that was destroyed by a tornado that desperately needs an MRI and Siemens is giving one away to one lucky winner. PLEASE, PLEASE go to www.winanmri.com and search the hospitals on the right - look for Sumter Regional Hospital in Americus, GA and PLEASE VOTE FOR US.
So far we are 768 votes shy of the leader. I would love to see us win this. I As of last night we were in 8th or 9th place. Today, we jumped up to 2nd place!!!! I If you've voted, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You will be rewarded one day...
Daughter In Trouble [2007-10-10]
I wish you, your daughter, and your family well. I mean that sincerely. You need advice from an attorney -- not from a lot of us speculating on a web site. I worked in child abuse for many years before MT work. It is doubtful (my opinion only) that you will be successful in bringing charges against this young man because of the age of consent of your daughter. She was not raped; she had sexual relations with him willingly. IF you are successful - please be prepared for the price you are going to make your daughter pay. She will have to testify at his trial and the defense attorney will make her look like the worstXXX in the world. It will be horrible for her - at best. Please think long and hard about what you are about to do to your daughter.
I would keep the lines of communication open and drop it. You will be so sad if you put your daughter through this only to find that -at most- the boyfriend will receive probation. Remember my words, Being a winner does NOT mean you win. Sometimes the cost is very, very high Mom.
Been There As A Prosecution Witness 1,000,000 Times and now an MT because of it.

Next Food Network Star sm [2007-07-22]
I am watching right now to see who the winner will be. They said this is the 3rd Next Food Network star. I know Guy won last year and does Guy Does anyone know who the first Food Network Star was? I don Thanks.
Running wild all summer in the surrounding citrus orchards - sm [2007-07-10]
- Also the small town (which it isn't anymore) 4th of July parade, and how excited my dad would get about the fireworks.
- First trip to Yosemite & Lake Tahoe in 1960. Back then the park was practically empty in late August.
- Neighbors who showed Disney movies for all the kids in the neighborhood for free on summer Sat. nights.
- Halloween when I was 10, and trick-or-treating with no parents along. Kids sure can't do that now.
- The nearby thoroughbred horse farm, where we used to sneak into the *old guys'* pasture, climb aboard, and ride them around. It's a wonder we weren't killed...
- *Sledding* down hills on dried-out grass on big pieces of cardboard.
- Tire races! (Put small kid in large tire at top of hill, roll tire down hill. Resulting dizziness of said small kid was VERY funny. Tire & kid that go the farthest before falling over is the winner.)
- Building our own wagons, go-karts, tree-forts, stick-horses, bird-houses, etc. without adults to tell us the *right* way to do it. Much more fun our way.
- Playing in construction sites. We once found a HUGE beam that was eventually going to be a main ceiling beam, and with about 15 kids' help, were able to drag it to a spot where we could turn it into a GIANT see-saw. You could put about 8 kids on either side, and it went REALLY high.
- Going to my friend's house on Sunday nights to watch Bonanza - in COLOR! (Everyone else in the neighborhood had blk. & wht.)
Remember the New Kids On The Block when they were huge?? When they came to sm [2007-06-04]
Hawaii where I used to live, I won a radio contest from a drawing. The New Kids actually came to the radio station and drew one winner for the grand prize. There were thousands of entries. Donnie, one of the band members, drew a name after the drum roll, live on the air, and he called my name! I almost fainted! haha I always said I was their biggest fan. So, I got the works...Limo ride, dinner with the band, their family members, radio and t.v. cameras (I was actually interviewed for a Japanese t.v. station through an interpreter). I felt like a star myself....haha....Anyways, I sat next to Joe McIntyre (I heard he was on Dancing With The Stars recently) and I flirted with him the whole time. He was my favorite anyway (back in the day, if you were a fan, you always had a favorite and I was in love with him). I remember he had a wicked Boston accent and I loved it! I am part Hawaiian and he asked me a million questions and I asked him questions too. There was definitely an attraction! I was 16 going on 17, I think. We were the exact same age. He was such a gentleman. I took about a 100 pictures...
After we ate I was escorted to the concert where I had front-row seats, backstage passes, etc.
It was a huge moment in my life for me at that time. I didn't want the night to end. I wanted to be invited up to Joe's room. I swear, I think he really wanted to hang out and get to know me after the show, but he had boydguards and family around and was so busy...at least that is what I wanted to believe...Hey, let a young gal pretend that she almost dated a superstar!!
Haven't heard that, supposed to still be together [2007-05-22]
Tonight is the *after the final rose* show so guess we'll see how they act.
About a week ago I did read that Tessa apparently blurted out that she was the winner while drinking with friends. Don't they get sued for that or something? : )
Paris [2007-05-14]
Reminds me of an incident years ago. A girl in our senior class (who actually eventually became a state beauty contest winner after several years of trying)asked a guy (from the other team) at a dance after the football game if he knew he was dancing with a queen. A scene took place when he told her if he bought her for what he thought she was worth and sold her for what she thought she was worth, he Takes all kinds.
Anybody watching Color Splash with David [2007-04-13]
Bromstad? He is the winner of that Design Star show on HGTV.
I I especially like his use of silk. The sheen of silk and the intensity of the colors makes me want to sew my own curtains and pillows ... okay, not quite, but I wishI could get excited about doing all that work to get exactly the look I want, LOL.
The Altanta Journal newspaper today...sm [2007-03-29]
says that apparently there are 2 reasons he's staying on:
1. People feel sorry for him and want to irritate Simon by voting for him.
2. A lot of the girls ages 8-14 idolize him and think he's a sweet guy - they don't care that he can't sing - they just are attracted to him.
I think he does things on purpose like the Mohawk to keep the controversy about him going and people voting for him. Would he sell records if he were to be the final winner? I doubt he'd sell many.
Am I am basing on who won which awards? [2007-03-09]
and not on the amount of money they have in their pockets. Everyone has different tastes- just because you think that Kelly and Carrie have won multiple awards, well Fantasia is going to be starring on Broadway in the Color of Purple. Not too bad for a winner, I would say. Clay also not the #1 but look at how he sells out those concerts. I could care less how many awards a person has, does not mean the runner-ups not good also in years past. Even though from the south I really am not into country, never have been and could care less about the punk style. It is all in the eyes of the beholder, really.
