Would you do the show Wife Swap? [2008-11-12]
I wouldn't but curious if anyone else here would.
It is just the love they can show...sm [2008-11-08]
You would have to own one. Mine touches my heart. I can't explain it. But he has a geniune love for me. For instance, I went to Walmart this evening and on the way home my husband called and said your dog is depressed looking out the windows for his mama and whining. He shows such genuine love it is just amazing. He waits for me at the door of the bathroom when I get a bath and will whimper and stick his paw under the door. How can you hate an animal capable of such love? It touches me.

there are two radio stations in town that plays Christmas music 24/7. I like Christmas music, but I think it's a little early to listen to it all day every day. Although, my daughter watches Christmas videos all year round.
Beaded jewelry... Most craft stores have supplies. [2008-10-19]
If you have a local craft store, that Also, if you Google beading jewelry, you can find video how-to
I thought it was fun at first, but I haven The beads are intricate and I found the major problem was size of the actual jewelry.
It would make great gifts though.

your future neighbors be closed-minded and intolerant of you? What if YOU had something about yourself that was [gasp!] 'different'? Would you want neighbors and community leaders who persecuted you and limited YOUR freedoms? Or would you want to be an equally-valued member of society?
And what does God say he wants us to do to show him we love him? sm [2008-10-16]
To care for the sick and less fortunate, to defend those who are weak and cannot defend themselves, to treat everyone with love and kindness. To love your neighbor as yourself. If we all did that instead of judging everyone, we would probably not be chasing people away from Christianity.
slide show another ? sm [2008-10-14]
Sorry to be so ignorant. Is the show on a CD-ROM or old VCR tape? I recently saw one at a wake in a funeral parlor, they had a TV in back of the viewing room with the young woman's life on there and some beautiful flower pics here and there in between. It was very impressive but I could not really ask at such a private time when the family was suffering, I thought it was a beautiful touch and done very well.
What price range? I recently made a slide show for a relative (sm) [2008-10-13]

I did want to show you guys my mom's FIVE dogs..I'm a little jealous of them..sm [2008-10-08]
They are so spoiled, as you can see....She doesn't have time to MT because she has to watch them all day long!
I just watched the interview on the Today Show SM [2008-09-29]
where the a hung jury concerning the boyfriend of a woman after he kicked her seven pouond cat, Norman to death. No penalty at all. He says the cat bit him and he just reacted. He kicked it repeatedly until he broke severa bones, broke his teeth and injured his lungs and left it to die. This happened after a heated argument between the this man and his girlfriend. Can you imagine showing your face on national television saying you were pleased with the outcome in this brutal outright case of animal abuse? Over 200 pound man kicks a cat to death and he and his attorney are trying to justify this. What a poor excuse for a human being. He claims it was not done out of spiteto punish his girlfriend. You decide.
if it does show up on your credit report sm [2008-09-11]
You could try to get it removed. Tell the credit agency to remove it because you don't owe the money, that you sent a certified letter within 7 days to cancel this and that legally you don't owe it. Check out the state attorney general's office. If it were me, I would not pay it. If it does end up on your credit report, i don't know if paying it will get it removed.
tv show/movie board [2008-09-02]
Do any of you feel we could use a TV show/movie board?
A forensic scientist on the Today show pointed out....sm [2008-08-14]
that it's very doubtful these girls are really 16. Most still have several of their baby teeth. They also showed measurements between their nose and mouth which usually has lengthened significantly by the teen years and on each kid on their team it was more consistent with 8-10 year olds. Also their irises are still quite large which is consistent with kids much younger than 16 worldwide.
I think the IOC should investigate more than just accepting China claiming on their passports that these kids are really 16 or older. Of course the government there can make up passports for anything stating any information if they want to. Duh!
There is a new show on TV (forgot the station) [2008-08-06]
that deals specifically with children that see/speak or feel a presence. I find it extremely interested and unsettling at the same time. Look it up on the interent and contact them. They may be able to help you. Good Luck and Email with any new results.
My son is a PreMed major and loves this show also....sm [2008-07-30]

My homemade recipe calls for instant coffee, creamer, dry milk, sugar, and a tsp of vanilla, which was okay. I saw the ingredients on Amazon.com and those were the ingredients except instead of vanilla it was cocoa powder, so I made another batch mixed with the first batch and put in 2 tsp of cocoa instead of the vanilla and it turned out really good. Have to make more already. I wish I could send you some of your CCDDP.
the today show... [2008-05-16]
did a story earlier in the week. I believe it was on Wednesday morning. I only caught a small portion of it. It was on during the last hour of their show, the part with Kathie Lee. I tried to look online for the info as they said it would be available on their website and I could not find it but who knows, maybe you'll have better luck. They were discussing transcription, mystery shoppers, and other things - legit companies they said specifically.
Boobage - SM [2008-11-21]
I feel ya, girlfriend...I wear a 32DD and the choices are so limited. Believe it or not, ICurvation. I bought a couple of them when they were on sale because they were really cute (black with pink ribbon trim and leopard print demi-cup with pink ribbon trim), but didn't really expect much from them and figured they'd just look nice.
Imagine my surprise when not only did they look great, they actually provided support, lol!!! I found that the demi-cup is actually even MORE supportive than the full cup style, which I hadn't expected.
Have fun and show those girls off to full advantage :-)

I My kids were younger so the dollar store was great! Seriously, my living room was full! It For little kids that was easy. But now they I miss those days of buying from the dollar store and filling the living room. Now, theyonly get 1 or 2 presents and I hate it. It makes me cry every year. I'll look for that picture on my break and try to upload it.
Whatever sale item is most important to you [2008-11-21]
start there...early. Sale ads from Wednesday night's or Thursday morning's newspapers should tell you the store hours and sale hours. Many end at 11am. My dd and I like to go about an hour after stores open, though it's still dark outside. The crowds that were waiting in line overnight for the big ticket items are gone by then, and most everyone else avoids the stores until the afternoon hours, thinking they will be less crowded. Wrong they are though. There are more employees on duty early rather than later, so things move more quickly in the morning hours. We've also found the earlier crowds to be friendlier. DD starts singing Christmas carols while standing in line and soon lots of others join in. She's a blast to shop with. Then we go to a late breakfast and go home before the unfriendly crowds show up. Hope your experience is an enjoyable one.
Has our country taken a turn for the ... [2008-11-21]
Our once great country, I afraid, has just turned a corner for the worse. I have watched as the mentality of our country has gone from setting your mind to something, working hard, and you can accomplish it to giving up, sitting back, and letting somebody else take care of them.
I was brought up, as many were, with a good work ethic that was instilled in us by our parents. With the idea that if you want something you had to work for it, and by working for something you learned quickly the difference between wants and needs.
There were always incentives for a person to strive to better themselves. Whether it were financial incentives, or just the pride you gained in knowing that you did something yourself, it didn’t matter.
I wasn’t long ago that people had that “small town” mentality, and everybody knew their neighbors. And those neighbors helped each other out, in any situation, it was just what you did. And people were so proud that some times help would have to be disguised, you remember the lines like..”Mom made more stew than we could eat, could you help us out by taking it so that it doesn’t go to waste?”
But, somewhere along the line those thoughts of some (I guess now the majority) have changed. Some how, if somebody works hard to gain something others feel entitled to have the same things, even if they didn’t have to go through the struggle to earn it. Some how, things like big screen TVs, cell phones, and shiny new cars have wrongly slipped from the “wants” list to the “needs” list.
Somewhere the incentives to strive for betterment have been replaced by incentives to be lazy. The easy way out and hand outs are now the norm. The feeling of pride about being self sufficient is supposed to be replaced by guilt for having more than others.
The “small town” mentality is gone and our neighbors have turned into strangers. People no longer help out their neighbors or even themselves, instead they sit and wait for the government to come solve things for them. And when help does come they complain that the help wasn’t good enough or didn’t come fast enough, the pride is gone.
Well, I refuse to think that way, my small town roots and work ethic runs to deep. I refuse to let somebody take care of me while I am willing and able to take care of myself. I will continue to meet and know my neighbors and help them out when they need it. I will continue to work hard to take care of my needs and by doing so, my wants will take care of themselves. I will continue to volunteer for things and give to charities of my choice regardless of what the government wants to take away from me and give to the undeserving.
My hope is to change the thinking back to the way it was. The sun will rise again tomorrow, I’ll keep doing what I do, and this country can be great again….at least in my little corner of it…

How about ideas for siblings and their families? Here's one [2008-11-19]
I have three siblings, with spouses and children. Not only is it expensive to buy for all of them, but it Last year I went to a craft store and bought cheap baskets on sale. I bought each of them a 2-month subscription to the movies that you get through the mail,NetFlix (can do Blockbuster if you want). I put the gift certificate in the basket along with the big boxes of candy that they sell at the show (.99 cents apiece at Walgreens), a few packets of microwave popcorn, and a 6-pack of their favorite soda. They loved it and everybody enjoyed the movies over the next couple of cold winter months. You can purchase the movie gift certificates on line at their website.

we usually eat out at least 3 if not 4 nights a week. Always eat out on Fridays and Saturdays and then usually Tuesday and Thursday nights.
I generally cook a large family meal on Sunday with enough leftovers to last through Monday. Tuesday night we either order in and Wednesdays we have breakfast for dinner -- my kids love that one. Thursdays we usually order in because it

We When it was a 15-minute drive to town, I planned our meals ahead of time and usually only ordered once a week or once every 2 weeks and we only ate out on Saturdays. We seemed to have picked up these extra 2 nights of ordering in out of convenience (a nicer word than laziness).
Oh the cost -- I have 3 kids and a hubby. On the nights we order in, we spend about $25 to $30 (saving because of no drinks or appetizers). When we eat out, the bill is usually around $50. So altogether, I guess I spend about $155 a week on eating out -- WOW/YIKES! Thanks for making me realize that. I think it
OMG!! I have cried a river reading this...sm [2008-11-17]
I am a softie for dogs anyway, and I especially have a special place in my heart for pit bulls and beagles too. This goes to show what wonderful dogs a pit can be. I am not surprised at all that this dog did this because a pit is one of the most smart, loving, feeling dogs you could ever meet. If they are raised right that is. It is so typical of a pit to risk his own life to save someone in need. This pit who some people claim are dangerous could have very well saved this woman and her son from a tragic end. And then for him to jump in her back seat as if to say please take me home. I just would have begged them to please let me take him home. I am glad to know if nobody claims him she will take care of him now because he deserves it. He truly is an angel. THIS is why I love pit bulls. Until you know one you don't know the love they are capable of.

I need some advice [2008-11-15]
Ok this is the story:
My husband is still friends with his first girlfriends family. This does not bother me. She did a couple of things to really disgrace her family when she was dating him but after a period of time he still kept in touch with them as we live in a very small community. When we met and got engaged they were all very kind to me and the mother even did the cake and flowers for our wedding. The ex is never around much so no big deal.
Well this past weekend her great grandmother passed. My husband had known this woman for sometime and the mother asked him to come to the funeral and told me I was not to feel like I shouldnI. To which the ex rolled her eyes and looked at her HUSBAND. So we walked away. To tell you the truth, we didn't really care.
Well we get a phone call about an hour ago from the exum we aren Well, knowing how immature the ex and her husband are, we knew they were behind this (plus we could hear them in the background). So my husband told the boy Look, it
Well a few minutes later he gets a text message from the brother saying my mom can (which obviously is not true since we saw her Wednesday night and Thursday afternoon and she was obviously not mental). So my husband sent back a message saying Look, whatever issues your sister has with me and your mom having an ADULT friendship, she needs to take those up with your mom, but quit trying to start drama.
Well a few minutes later the phone rings. My husband handed me the phone. Knowing how mad he was at the moment, I answered. It was the ex. She asked if she could talk to him, and I said No. This needs to stop right now, it She said well my mom is really going crazy and she can. She went on for about five minutes and I said fine, we won
I'm just so angry right now! I mean this is high school drama! What would you do? I know the mom will be absolutely heartbroken if my husband and I just stop coming to see her and talking to her (since her lovely daughter never comes home). I mean except for the funeral, we never go around if she is going to be there, and we don't sit there and talk bad about her or anything.
I honestly think she knows she screwed up by messing around on him SIX YEARS AGO and is just upset that he's married and happy and it sounds like her husband is a jerk.
Oh my gosh!...sm [2008-11-14]
He just looks like he is smiling all the time. He looks like he would be laid back too. He doesn't look like a hyper dog. I bet he's a sweetie.
Do the English Bulldogs show protectiveness like Pitbulls do? Or are they pretty much mild mannered? I think English Bulldogs are adoreable but I have never known anyone who owned one. My Pit isn't mean but he is protective if he doesn't know someone, mostly men. He doesn't like strange men to come around. But women he is fine with.
Wouldn't hurt to s/m [2008-11-14]
get the old movie Grapes of Wrath and watch that too. That'll show you what's ahead.
Not really that amazing, is it? [2008-11-14]
I wondered the same thing - is this the most interesting thing they could come up with? I mean, when I first saw the pictures of what looked like a man with a big pregnant belly, it kind of struck me, but once you know the story, it's nothing, really. How can they make a whole show about this? There HAS to be a better story out there somewhere. Almost anything would be more interesting than this.

even to the point as to how they have sex and thatmake me sick, especially now that she/he is pregnant again and due in June! BW thinks she's doing the world a favor by doing this special report.
The reasonit keptits female parts was to have kids. What gets me is they never heard of adoption? Why not adopt? Because they wanted to make money, that's why.
I don't know how many times they pointed out that she is now a legal male on all records, SS#, birth (how'd they accomplish that?), marriage license, medical history, etc. If she/he is a legal male, she/he shouldn't have the reproductive organs. Period.
I feel sorryfor the kids. They will be so confused because they are going to tell them as soon as they to speak and/or understand.
This world is going to h---- in a handbasket.
Explaining a couple of things sm [2008-11-14]
I studied IQ as part of my Masterget you because your sense of humor is probably well off the beaten track. You probably lack social skills from an early age. Your peers would play childhood games while you preferred to try to improve upon the toys they played with. In school, you didn't have to work very hard in most areas. It all came very easily. You didn't learn how to learn, which is a very valuable skill. You probably have a low frustration level and when something doesn't come very easily, you are prone to giving up. Because you see the world in completely different terms than people of more average intelligence, those same average people call you crazy or mentally ill and tell you that you should be locked up. You don't fit in and despite the higher intelligence, you are remiss to know how to accomplish the feat of being more ordinary.
I alluded to this in my previous post. I have the unusual combination of being very artistic, creatively gifted AND being rather intellectually gifted. Yes, I did fall at the 99.6% percentile on the Wechsler. I know what it means and I have a firm understanding that indeed, that score suggests that I possess more intelligence than 99.6% of the people who have taken that test, and only 0.4% are smarter than I am. It has been a life-long struggle to fit in. I am too cerebral for artistic people, and too artistic for intellectuals. I literally have no one I fit in with. I have learned to tone myself down to make it work. I didn't say dumb down, I said tone down. That means I don't intentionally talk over the heads of others and I won't cram what I know down anyone's throat.
I have had those people in my life who have been jealous of me. I learn quickly if it is artistic, musical, creative, the written word, history and philosophy. I struggle with math. I took piano lessons 10 years ago. I had 40 of them and had never played the piano before. In 40, 1-hour lessons I could play the Moonlight Sonata in piano solo (not a dumbed down easy version). Most people cannot do that. There many other things I have done in a similar fashion, but this is an example for you.
You ask why I am an MT if I am so smart. I make very good money as an MT and I enjoy the challenge. My photographic memory comes in very handy too. I often stop and read up on a disease process I am transcribing about, so that I know what it means. Show me a word once and I'll know it forever. It makes my job easier for me to accomplish.
This all sounds like I am blowing my own horn, but I am merely trying to explain. Being highly intelligent wonreally smart is not only not helpful, I think it is the root of the housecleaning issues in my life.
In short, it is just great to have a good ol' high number and in the end it makes absolutely difference...if you don't count the fact that people with IQs over 150 are 3 times more likely to be depressed and commit suicide than the average population. People who are 125 to 140 are the most fortunate. They succeed in greater numbers in school, in a job, in life. They are very bright, and likely have learned how to learn. They are more likely to persevere in the face of frustration and challenge.
It really isn't all you think it is.
I just wish they would stop saying a "man" sm [2008-11-13]
was pregnant. I mean, come on, the person was born a woman and female internal organs or else this wouldn't be possible. If they did a DNA test, it would show XX not XY. To me, this is no different than lesbian couples doing artificial insemination or IVF. It's only getting publicity because one of them has had surgery to appear male and lives as a male.
Crazy people............ [2008-11-13]
who want to show that two lesbians can have a biological child.
agree with you. This stuff has not been [2008-11-11]
available long enough to make a determination. I am reminded of Avandia which almost put my mother in the hospital because she was one of the few to have increase in fluids from it. The docs kept telling her that it was impossible that Avandia was the problem. I spoke to one OB-Gyn and one infectious disease doctor, both of whom did not recommend this vaccine, one saying why was it only for girls. This was about 2 years ago when our gov was considering making it mandatory in Tx, too. One doc said it was a lot of hype as it only protected against 4 of the more than 200 strains known. One research physician on a radio show claims it actually is a cancer trigger for later in life, so who knows? Afraid abstinence is the only sure prevention. BTW, sex ed in school does not seem to have prepared students for orally transmitted STD's - go figure.
IQ does not equal happiness [2008-11-11]
I There have been studies that suggest the smarter you are the less happy you are, and there may be some truth in it.
The first reason for this would be people with attitudes like yours, abc. They hold smart people to the highest standards. They donbut they do have weaknesses. Imagine spending your whole life hearing If you. There is enormous pressure put upon them by others to do something great, to perform mental tricks for the amusement of others, to prove how smart they are. Some become as insecure about it as beauty queens do about their looks - I remember when I was married to my genius, we watched a show about a child prodigy who could play great compositions at the age of 4. This show upset my ex, I could see it made him jealous and insecure, and nervous that he was not as great as everyone assumed him to be. Just like there's always someone richer, thinner, and better looking, there's always someone smarter too.
Another reason would be lonliness. The smarter you are, the less you have in common with the majority of the population. The things that interest you most people can I think one purpose Mensa was created was so that they could find people to talk to on their own level. The pitfall there is most of them are so specialized in their own areas of interest they still don't have anything in common - the gifted musician does not want to discuss quantum theories with the scientist, they can understand it, they just aren't interested in it.
In my ex He self medicates with substances to escape the misery of being in his body. Second, he He started abusing substances to try to be one of the cool partying folk, to fit in. All of his current friends abuse substances, but he at least has some friends now, that Third, the pressure to perform has caused him to give up. He was a computer guru before computers were cool. Once computers were mainstreamed to the general populace, and new software was coming out on a daily basis, he could no longer know it all. When he reached that crossroads, he panicked, gave up and dove into the bottle to hide from his insecurities.
Ahigh IQ is often just as much a curse as a blessing. I am assuming the reason to abuse substance ispretty universal - the desire to escape reality for a while, then it becomes a habit. If a person doesnmay choose to destroy it instead.
All right, all right,.......now I am going [2008-11-11]

I actually love the lady. What a hoot. Have to take my break from the ole computer during her show.
