LOL - that reminds me of the other day when [2008-11-30]
my 7 year old son came home from school. He asked me did I know that kids used to not speak unless spoken too. I told him what a wonderful concept that was that we've lost over the years. He just looked at me horrified. His expression was priceless! :)
Pumba. Reminds of Lion King. LOL...sm [2008-11-12]
She is a pretty kitty and sitting under the tree like she is a gift for someone. lol
This reminds me of an incident a couple of [2008-11-11]
months ago. My parents live 4 hours away and wonlonely people. Now, my parents may not come down but who says we are lonely??? I too went through many years of crying because we didn't have that Martha Stewart Christmas.
Ugh. Reminds me of (sm) [2008-11-02]
I remember dating this very handsome eligible batchelor when I was in my early 20s. He had his own apartment and a good job. He proudly told me about the fancy set of pots and pans he'd bought, so that was one thing he'd already have when he got married. I don't even care about cooking, but I didn't like the idea of the male picking out stuff for his future wife. I'm sure he made somebody a great husband, but it's funny how that conversation set off alarm bells for me.
My husband also bought a car without talking to me about it while we were engaged, and I was quite shocked. It did say something about his attitude about money and purchases, and I should have listened to those warning bells too.
your post reminds me of the Jim Carey movie [2008-09-10]
this reminds me of what I went through [2008-08-03]
in the 80how much Kleenex are you using?. He had said so far. I called the teacher and said I was going to send the same roll of toilet paper we were having to use at home. She told me it was for the kids whose parents did not have money for these things and I told her, guess what, I am one of those parents. I. I never got asked for anything again. I thought I would choke on school supplies and extras the teachers liked such as Weekly Reader (in Texas, all school books are free, but that does not include Weekly Reader). There was the added pressure of each class getting a pizza party for 100% compliance. I wonder what they are going to do now with all the health food concerns, LOL.
Reminds me a lot of MTing when you get a new job [2008-05-09]
They make promises; you totally believe them (not you, probably more me), and then you find out they count lines strangely and you don that's all I expect anymore, used to be week long cruises in the good old days of MTing. Remember then? Good luck to everyone on the stimulus, hope you get it soon! MTmom.
That reminds me of what you do when you see a jellyfish (sm) [2008-04-23]
Don't touch the testicles!!!!
Oh that reminds me "We got a great big Tomboy....(sm) [2008-04-23]
trucking through the night, yeah, we got a great big Tomboy ain My 7 year old's version of Convoy she heard on TV...lol
that reminds me of a funny story sm [2008-03-21]
Remember back in the day when flip flops were called thongs?
Well, my daugher (she was about 15 or so) and I were shopping with one of her friends and she said something that was funny, but 'back in the day' my mom would not find it humerous. I told her that she was lucky because, 'my mom would have reached back, took off her thong, and slapped me with it.' She looked at me in horror and her friend in disbelief... It finally dawned on me what they were thinking and after I stopped laughing hysterically, I explained... ahh... the good ol' days!
Reminds me of those ads which have always run in the back of comic books or magazines [2008-03-21]
Ever since I was little, the same ad still runs, I think it is for a learn at home program it says:
Become a Medical Transcriptionist in your spare time. Earn over 25K a year. I am not kidding this one has been running in the back of magazines and comic books forever. I think it also says, learn by typing doctor They never update it. So, we make the same as we would have 15 years ago... but then again, that might be true considering we never get a cost of living raise... hmmmm.
Reminds me of a neighbor [2008-03-11]
I called the school system on a child who was not attending school (I would see him lots of days in his yard during school time). When the authorities came out the mother tried to tell them she was homeschooling the child. Good thing her word was not taken- this woman can hardly read and is basically right on the fringe of incompetency herself. I think some kind of system ought to be in place to teach children- I personally do not think I have the knowledge to give my own child what they would need. Read on this site where mothers homeschooling and working an 8 hour day? How in the world are they doing that. I think the kids will probably suffer in the longrun.
That reminds me of my DH! . . [2008-03-05]
We have a small hobby farm and he works on it before/after work and on weekends. He would hate life if all he did was work and come home. I hate it when it is rainy or the weather is bad because he just sits in the house and complains about how there isn't anything to do (like a little kid!). Sometimes it makes me feel like he hates to spend time with me, but I figure he is just happiest taking care of his tractor and animals and whatever else he does out there. It must be a guy thing. He always says he needs to get a hobby that doesn't involve work. I have been trying to get involved with the farming stuff, so I can do things outside with him. He said he will help build me a chicken house so I can get some chickens this spring. He said he will help me get the garden going too. I guess I just need to meet him halfway and be more involved. Good luck to you!
I like it and I'm old. Reminds me of late 60's girl group [2008-02-11]

reminds me of my dog when growing up [2007-11-28]
my dad did not like him being on the couch and he would jump off when he heard him walking towards the room. Another favorite was asmy dad was coming down the stairs my dad could see him on the couch before entering the room as we had a mirror hanging on the wall...maybe our dog could see him too!
Reminds me of what hubby told me [2007-11-16]
He came from a really large family, 10 or more siblings. He said never did anyone fuss about they wanted this or they wanted that- ate what was served to them, ate good because of raising own food but probably the reason you have this problem is because you let the child be like this. Why do you let a kid this age demand what they want to have to eat. You as the mother should furnish the best possible foods (especially vegetables), and not bow down to a demand from a child like this.
This reminds me of a girlfriend of mine [2007-10-24]
who had some young age, gained some weight and really dressed always like her granny. One day picking the kids up from school someone remarked about why cute grandchildren she had! People without thinking can say some pretty stinging remarks sometimes, such as asking overweight lady when is she due!! I always when seeing a pretty baby go for the generic so I don't guess wrong and say pretty girl when it's a boy, just say what a cute little baby. The parent usually tells me girl or male or at least gives me a hint so I will know.
Just reminds me of Animal Farm. [2007-09-15]

Kinda reminds me of... [2007-07-25]
Dog the Bounty Hunter, with less cursing and more humor! No joke, first few times I watched Dog I was going oh my gosh, Stephanie Plum!! Books are getting so expensive these days I hesitate to buy anything new anymore, but by golly, I I recommend them to anyone I meet who likes to read.
So...who is pulling for Ranger and who is pulling for Morelli? Joe I really, really, really wanna see Stephanie hook up with him. I just have the feeling that Morelli is gonna cheat on her...just a matter of time. What do you all think?
She kind of reminds me of [2007-07-17]
That african/americangirlon New Adventures of Old Christine only heavier. I thought it was her at first. I bet if you look up on Soap City you
reminds me of me when I was little! [2007-07-09]
LOL
Reminds me of the time my mother said [2007-07-08]
well, nothing would stop me from going to New York except a broken leg. She said that and it was my brother, her son, who broke his leg and she did not get to go. I just never tempt fate like saying I would never do this or that. If I want to go somewhere, I always say I hope to be able to do it. A person can plan all they want but it is just your plans and not really what is mapped out in your life for you. I guess some folks so sure of themselves they can do that, good luck with your beliefs.
reminds me of a former poster here named Joyce [2007-06-19]
Slightly off the subject but this reminds me [2007-06-15]
of the headlines about the poor woman laying on the ER floor in California vomiting blood and dying and not having anyone pay any attention to her! How disgusting is that!!!!
OMG, that reminds me [2007-06-14]
of my most embarrassing confession- I LOVE popping zits/blackheads (but only my own). The more gunk that comes out the better. When I get a really good one I will spend 20 minutes searching to try to find another one. I know it sounds totally gross but it is so strangely satisfying.
Wow! Was a nerve hit??? [2008-11-24]
I didnLeave it to Beaver. That's just not the case. By the end of the 1960s and into the 1970s the pendulum had started to swing so far toward women having careers that we were often belittled for choosing to be home with the children. Remember Hillary Clinton's cookie baking comment during her husband's first campaign? In fact, stay-at-home moms were the norm for only one brief period in our history right after WW II in the post war boom times. There was a pretty awful recession in the 1970s, and I remember gas rationing and long lines at the pumps. My mother had to work two jobs, and my father, who was in construction, was often one of the first to feel economic ups and downs in his paycheck. But we had dinner together every night at the kitchen table. Before the stay-at-home mothers of 1950's t.v. fame, most mothers worked. They had to. Only the very privileged stayed home and waited for Ward Cleaver to come home from the office. My grandmother, who lived to be 94, God bless her soul, was born in 1908. Her mother died during the great Spanish flu epidemic in 1918. My grandmother was the eldest of four children, and at the age of 10 she became the woman of the house. She stopped going to school so that she could cook and clean and took care of her father and siblings. And no one thought that was wrong. It was expected because there really weren't any government social services -- no welfare, no foster care. Eventually, when her father's depression over the loss of his wife became so great that he couldn't manage to bring home an income, people in the neighborhood just took over. The two eldest children went to live with other families. The two youngest went to an orphanage. My grandmother's father just drifted away and his children never saw him again. My grandmother married at age 20 and had four children during the depression. Talk about having it hard. When I was a young mother trying to make ends meet and I'd cry to my grandmother, she brought me around to reality. She told me what it was like for her to raise children during that time. Many a night she cried over whether or not she could even feed her children or if they would have a roof over their heads. And she wasn't alone. Everyone, and I do mean everyone, was in the same boat. The Great Depression was enormous. She and my grandfather worked wherever and whenever they could. They brought home a dollar or two at a time and fed their children buttermilk and potatoes. They didn't sleep, they worried all the time. Today, my grandmother's washboard hangs in my kitchen on the wall next to my dishwasher. It Reminds me .... I have no right to ever say that things are harder on us today. They aren't. Generally speaking, most Americans have so many more advantages, choices and opportunities than those who came before us. Yet many in my generation and the one or two generations behind me are just whiners and crybabies who don't think about the big picture. They even dare to say they have a harder time as parents today. Please. Not even close! Every generation seems to believe that, but just a short trip through a history book proves otherwise.
I'm not that very old. But I've raised my children and I raised them well. I know what it takes to do that. It takes self-discipline, sacrifice and consistency. And you know what? That's exhausting. Parents today are tired. So what? All parents are tired. Offer it up, as the old nuns used to say. The kids have homework an hour a night. So what? They should have homework, and parents should make sure that it gets done, because education is important. There are parent-teacher meetings to attend, coaches association meetings, scout meetings, dance lessons, school recitals, etc. etc. etc. So what? Balance it out, quit what can't be done, do what can. Work because you have to. The kids have to be fed. It's still easier than it was a generation ago, two generations ago, three and on and on. We're parents to young ones for only a short time. Which reminds me, let's not forget about birth control. Most of us have 2-point-whatever children these days. I'm the youngest of 7. Most of the families in my neighborhood when I was growing up had 4 or more children. Today women can choose to have as many or as few children as they want. That means that we parent for far fewer years than the generations before us. I'm done with day-to-day parenting after just 20 years, and in fact, it got much easier on my day-to-day schedule once my boys were in high school. But my mother had children at home for 34 years. Imagine the number of cloth diapers for 7 children for year after year after year. Yes. I had it far easier, and I know it. So when I was exhausted raising my two boys, I just sucked it up and kept at it.
The OP, I think, probably didn't want to be as blunt as I'm willing to be. She IS helping by babysitting her grandchildren while her children work. I'm sure she loves her children and grandkids, but I'm willing to bet that if she dared to say to her children the things I've posted, her children would react just as you did and she'd end up cut off from her family.
To the OP: I hope it helped to vent a little, and I want you to know that I understand.
your video [2008-10-31]
That Reminds me ....he scene where Jerry Maguire and (what ever Renees name was in the movie) were watching their video right after the ceremony. He was rubbing his forehead and looking quite disturbed.
I tease my boyfriend about doing that if we ever get married. We are middle aged (supposing we will live to be really old) :) and he has never been married!
Glad you had a fun time on your first anniversary!
I agree with the poster below [2008-09-01]
Just because he is your future son-in-law doesn't mean he owes you anything. It sounds to me like you want to cause problems between him and your daughter because of this when you say you think she should have talked to him. This is between you and him. You asked for help, he told you what he could offer, take it or leave it.
It sounds to me like he made the comment about not having things placed or set up because he expects that you would want that. I certainly don't know your relationship with him or your daughter and do believe there are always 2 sides to every story and feel like we didn't get the second side to this story.
I don't say any of this to make you feel bad in any way. Your situation Reminds me ....y own mother. Except that she will do whatever she can to get things resolved before asking either of her son-in-law's to help and they are more than willing to do anything for her...she just knows that they work full-time, have a family, and life is hectic. When she does ask something she asks them directly (not through the daughter) and asks for bare minimum - she usually gets much more than that on the son-in-law's own accord not because he is obligated.
I'm on the semi-slob scale [2008-08-30]
I guess I would rate my self as a 2. I have cleaning supplies. In the past I have tried a lot but found a couple that I like. Mostly because of the way they make the house smell. The only time I use hand sanitizer is after I've picked up a package of chicken at the grocery store (a lot of times the juice leaks out). I do find myself washing my hands after I come home from the grocery store, but only when my husband reminds me. Otherwise I would probably let it go and even eat something before washing my hands. The only thing I do that would constitue as a phobia is if I have to use the restroom I will line the toilet seat with tissue if they don't have any of those sanitary toilet seat covers and 2 I use my foot to flush the toilet. I never touch the flusher with my hand.
Omega fatty acid supplements helped my son a lot (sm) [2008-08-26]
I just by the gummy supplements brand name Little Critters at Target. After a couple of weeks on them, my son himself, at the age of 9, recognized the difference in how he felt and he now Reminds me .... we run out, that I need to get him some more.

That If it wasn If you were that upset about the dog being loose again, you would be concentrating your efforts on getting the dog impounded rather than seeing a lawyer and finding out how to settle with their homeowner It
Your daughter is reliving this incident because you are playing it over and over again for her. I
This Reminds me ....hen I used to work in an office. We actually had a mother bring in a disability form for her 13-year-old, who had tinnitus or some other benign disorder, and wanted it filled out so she could start getting benefits for him. People are always looking for a way to get rich quick - it's the American way.
I totally agree [2008-06-25]
This Reminds me ....y MIL, and how she was too. She felt she could do what she wanted because she was the children's grandmother. This is a good time to establish a few ground rules where your child is concerned, while trying not to hurt her feelings, but she should know that she has to ask you about anything that concerns activities with your children. Children depend on us for their safety, and you can't replace your child if anything happens, so you have every right to say no I don't want my child doing that. I don't mean to pry, but what does the child's father think about her doing this? If she had really thought about this she should have realized this idea about taking a 9 month old baby on a 4-wheeler is totally wrong.
A very good friend once said... [2008-06-20]
*If you can raise a puppy, then raising a child is easy...*
I think you are on the right track. It I have a Corgi boy that did not train as fast as I thought he should, but he did get there after about 6-7 months. For me, since it was my first time, I had no idea how long it would take. It would probably go faster a 2nd time around. From some reading I did, it sounded like it should be in a matter of days, and some dogs just do not fit that mold.
It Reminds me ....ll those who told me their baby slept through the night at 6 weeks of age. That did not happen for me until my 3rd child was born. Each child and puppy are different.
I'm so sorry for your loss. [2008-06-14]
What a gorgeous boy he was. He Reminds me ....ne of the shelties we had when I was growing up. Ginger was mostly my mom's dog, and all the kids had moved out by the time she lost her. She took Ginger's jingling collar with her on her walks for a long time.
Feel better but not happy [2008-04-22]
My husband and I just started the TNT diet last week. For the first 4 weeks it No starchy vegetables like potatoes, no fruits. I am such a bread and butter junkie I swear I could live off of it so I I lost 4 pounds in 5 days and then for some reason over the weekend, which I did not cheat except for 1 meal and not badly at that, I gained it back! But then again I think water weight gain may be the culprit.
Oh shoot that Reminds me ....ed to go put my pot roast minus potatoes in the crockpot!
I agree [2008-04-18]
Religion should be a personal thing. When you are doing something like that, praying on your knees in a public place, the only possibly reason for it is to make yourself feel superior (or some such nonsense).
It Reminds me ....lamboyant gay people. Why must they plaster rainbow stickers all over their cars? To get attention. They want the whole world to know what they do behind closed doors, just like religious people want everyone to know that they worship god. News flash: We don't care! It's a private, personal thing. Keep it to yourself!
Awesome [2008-04-14]
Reminds me ....y daughter
You must be totally frustrated [2008-04-04]
I'm not from your area, so sorry I don't have any recommendations (although I did go to Daytona Beach when I was 18 years old for a vacation - loved the beach). If I ever have to go to the doc I don't think I would ever tell them I'm an MT (mainly because of what you just said above). I would go without telling him what I do, listen to what he says and then if you don't agree I'd tell him I want to get a second opinion. Or if I was bold enough I might ask him who he sees when he is sick (or what he takes so he doesn't get sick because the attitudes of the docs suck). Kind of Reminds me ....he movie about the doc who got sick and found out what it was like to be a regular patient with nobody paying attention to you or giving you the answers you want.
When my daughter was 9 she had [2008-03-31]
her one and only cavity. When her dad asked her about the shot before they filled it she said she didnWould you like a valium? Don't sweat it, it really isn't that bad at all.
I agree with you totally. It is not the world's buisiness. sm [2008-03-19]
If it was legal, it would not be as nasty. How about the feds regulate it and then maybe it wouldnwould happen. I would not give him what he wanted. He took me home the next day and I never heard a word from him again, ever. Got my pics in the mail, no note, nothing. His loss, LOL!
All forwards I put in the trash folder immediately even if I know the person. [2008-03-16]
People get mad at me for never responding, but I get annoyed when people who call me their friends send me 50 of these a day. It Reminds me ....elemarketing or junk mail only sent by friends! The only thing I ever do to family or close friends, is if I see an article in the paper, or on MSN, I e mail a link to the article. I do this like twice a year that's it. I had one friend actually never speak to me again, because she would send tons of these forwards and I'd never answer. She got extremely annoyed with me. Oh, well, I recently deleted my junk folder and it feels good. LOL.
Did ya ever just wanna talk about nuthin' just to talk? [2008-03-06]

Hey now watch that fattest comment :) [2008-02-07]
Adia has often been compared to a mancoon. She is not really very large though even though others say she reminds them of a racoon or a beaver, she sort of slinks when she runs. She is kind of petite, with little short legs and small head, but chubby, weighing at 14.8 pounds as of today. What is a fisher, all I could think of was a king fisher.
Thanks for the kind words on the spread. Really loved the look of it, but baby it was hot hot hot, and forget it when the kids puked on it. It would be perfect for you in Maine. Love love Love purple, my favorite pillows thanks.
Surgery will be around $700, pull that one out of my @@#$ss somehow. Hopefully get good tax return, just hope I am making the right decision. She Reminds me ....n animal run over by a vehicle and clinging to life in the gutter. Would I pick her up, take her to the nearest place to bring her back to life? Yes, I would, even if she bit me. Of course, the children will always suffer for the behavior of their parents, but there but for Godrepaired. She will always be cracked and chipped but hopefully she can come back and help others who have chosen her path of self-destruction. Her poor kids will never forget - thatsells. We hear it every day, cancer, miscarriages, treacherous situations, sometimes nature, sometimes not, self-destruction by those who are mentally impaired. Who are we to judge? Lettrash. IMHO.
