Anyone burned out with MTing? sm [2008-06-22]
i i love being at home for the fact i have a 10 y/o and a 6 y/o. but sometimes i find myself being bored sitting here typing. i think of doing other things, medically related. i think it would be so cool to be a surgery tech. the thing is here where i live, i can make about the same as they do working at home. it anyone else feel that way or have made a change? i often think about when my boys get a little bigger, i i would like to do some kind of work where i can make a difference in people
Reminds me a lot of MTing when you get a new job [2008-05-09]
They make promises; you totally believe them (not you, probably more me), and then you find out they count lines strangely and you don that's all I expect anymore, used to be week long cruises in the good old days of MTing. Remember then? Good luck to everyone on the stimulus, hope you get it soon! MTmom.
That reminds me of what you do when you see a jellyfish (sm) [2008-04-23]

Oh that reminds me "We got a great big Tomboy....(sm) [2008-04-23]
trucking through the night, yeah, we got a great big Tomboy ain My 7 year old's version of Convoy she heard on TV...lol
that reminds me of a funny story sm [2008-03-21]
Remember back in the day when flip flops were called thongs?
Well, my daugher (she was about 15 or so) and I were shopping with one of her friends and she said something that was funny, but 'back in the day' my mom would not find it humerous. I told her that she was lucky because, 'my mom would have reached back, took off her thong, and slapped me with it.' She looked at me in horror and her friend in disbelief... It finally dawned on me what they were thinking and after I stopped laughing hysterically, I explained... ahh... the good ol' days!
Reminds me of those ads which have always run in the back of comic books or magazines [2008-03-21]
Ever since I was little, the same ad still runs, I think it is for a learn at home program it says:
Become a Medical Transcriptionist in your spare time. Earn over 25K a year. I am not kidding this one has been running in the back of magazines and comic books forever. I think it also says, learn by typing doctor They never update it. So, we make the same as we would have 15 years ago... but then again, that might be true considering we never get a cost of living raise... hmmmm.
Reminds me of a neighbor [2008-03-11]
I called the school system on a child who was not attending school (I would see him lots of days in his yard during school time). When the authorities came out the mother tried to tell them she was homeschooling the child. Good thing her word was not taken- this woman can hardly read and is basically right on the fringe of incompetency herself. I think some kind of system ought to be in place to teach children- I personally do not think I have the knowledge to give my own child what they would need. Read on this site where mothers homeschooling and working an 8 hour day? How in the world are they doing that. I think the kids will probably suffer in the longrun.
That reminds me of my DH! . . [2008-03-05]
We have a small hobby farm and he works on it before/after work and on weekends. He would hate life if all he did was work and come home. I hate it when it is rainy or the weather is bad because he just sits in the house and complains about how there isn't anything to do (like a little kid!). Sometimes it makes me feel like he hates to spend time with me, but I figure he is just happiest taking care of his tractor and animals and whatever else he does out there. It must be a guy thing. He always says he needs to get a hobby that doesn't involve work. I have been trying to get involved with the farming stuff, so I can do things outside with him. He said he will help build me a chicken house so I can get some chickens this spring. He said he will help me get the garden going too. I guess I just need to meet him halfway and be more involved. Good luck to you!
I like it and I'm old. Reminds me of late 60's girl group [2008-02-11]

reminds me of my dog when growing up [2007-11-28]
my dad did not like him being on the couch and he would jump off when he heard him walking towards the room. Another favorite was asmy dad was coming down the stairs my dad could see him on the couch before entering the room as we had a mirror hanging on the wall...maybe our dog could see him too!
Reminds me of what hubby told me [2007-11-16]
He came from a really large family, 10 or more siblings. He said never did anyone fuss about they wanted this or they wanted that- ate what was served to them, ate good because of raising own food but probably the reason you have this problem is because you let the child be like this. Why do you let a kid this age demand what they want to have to eat. You as the mother should furnish the best possible foods (especially vegetables), and not bow down to a demand from a child like this.
This reminds me of a girlfriend of mine [2007-10-24]
who had some young age, gained some weight and really dressed always like her granny. One day picking the kids up from school someone remarked about why cute grandchildren she had! People without thinking can say some pretty stinging remarks sometimes, such as asking overweight lady when is she due!! I always when seeing a pretty baby go for the generic so I don't guess wrong and say pretty girl when it's a boy, just say what a cute little baby. The parent usually tells me girl or male or at least gives me a hint so I will know.
Just reminds me of Animal Farm. [2007-09-15]

Kinda reminds me of... [2007-07-25]
Dog the Bounty Hunter, with less cursing and more humor! No joke, first few times I watched Dog I was going oh my gosh, Stephanie Plum!! Books are getting so expensive these days I hesitate to buy anything new anymore, but by golly, I I recommend them to anyone I meet who likes to read.
So...who is pulling for Ranger and who is pulling for Morelli? Joe I really, really, really wanna see Stephanie hook up with him. I just have the feeling that Morelli is gonna cheat on her...just a matter of time. What do you all think?
She kind of reminds me of [2007-07-17]

Reminds me of the time my mother said [2007-07-08]
well, nothing would stop me from going to New York except a broken leg. She said that and it was my brother, her son, who broke his leg and she did not get to go. I just never tempt fate like saying I would never do this or that. If I want to go somewhere, I always say I hope to be able to do it. A person can plan all they want but it is just your plans and not really what is mapped out in your life for you. I guess some folks so sure of themselves they can do that, good luck with your beliefs.
reminds me of a former poster here named Joyce [2007-06-19]
Slightly off the subject but this reminds me [2007-06-15]
of the headlines about the poor woman laying on the ER floor in California vomiting blood and dying and not having anyone pay any attention to her! How disgusting is that!!!!
OMG, that reminds me [2007-06-14]
of my most embarrassing confession- I LOVE popping zits/blackheads (but only my own). The more gunk that comes out the better. When I get a really good one I will spend 20 minutes searching to try to find another one. I know it sounds totally gross but it is so strangely satisfying.
Reminds me of the work at my home [2007-06-12]
I was on the back and asked person inside to catch the front door as I was busy. They had just started building home next door, had not even poured the foundation and was asking for some water. I said no, the store just up the street and being as husband was in the contracting business, I knew he usually took his help big water containers with them. In a short while at front of house, blinds drawn but noticed movement outside the window and they had the water on outside and stealing my water- I called the police. Really ticked me off.

CHEATING by Sara Evans
You say your every day is a bad dream that keeps repeating.
Maybe you should have thought about that when you were cheating.
How do you like that furnished room, the bed, the chair, the table
The TV picture comes and goes, too bad you don't have cable
How do you like that paper plate and those pork 'n' beans you are eating.
Maybe you should have thought about that, when you were cheating.
How do you like that beat up car, I think its fair we traded
Your pickup truck is running fine, it's cozy ride for dating.
Yes, I've been out a time or two, and found the comfort I've been needing.
Maybe you should have thought about that, when you were cheating.
You made your bed, and your out of mine, you lie awake and I sleep just fine.
You've done your sowin', now you can do the reaping.
Maybe you should have thought about that, when you were cheating.
Now what became of what's-her-name, after she spent all of your money and had all your time. Did she leave you just like you left me, well, sometimes life is funny.
But no, I won't be glad to take you back, as if all is fine and dandy.
Maybe you should have thought about that, when you were cheating.
Again, what will you accomplish by [2008-07-01]
That If it wasn If you were that upset about the dog being loose again, you would be concentrating your efforts on getting the dog impounded rather than seeing a lawyer and finding out how to settle with their homeowner It
Your daughter is reliving this incident because you are playing it over and over again for her. I
This reminds me of when I used to work in an office. We actually had a mother bring in a disability form for her 13-year-old, who had tinnitus or some other benign disorder, and wanted it filled out so she could start getting benefits for him. People are always looking for a way to get rich quick - it's the American way.
I totally agree [2008-06-25]
This reminds me of my MIL, and how she was too. She felt she could do what she wanted because she was the children's grandmother. This is a good time to establish a few ground rules where your child is concerned, while trying not to hurt her feelings, but she should know that she has to ask you about anything that concerns activities with your children. Children depend on us for their safety, and you can't replace your child if anything happens, so you have every right to say no I don't want my child doing that. I don't mean to pry, but what does the child's father think about her doing this? If she had really thought about this she should have realized this idea about taking a 9 month old baby on a 4-wheeler is totally wrong.

I'm with you [2008-06-22]
I too am getting burned out. I've been doing this 9 years. I like working at home. Don't know if I want to go back to working in an office with a bunch of old women all with their office politics, gossiping, dislikes, likes, etc. Plus the cost of working clothes, lunches, b-days, various pot lucks, etc. Here I wake up at 8am (no kids if you can't tell), turn on the computer and work. However I am getting very bored and some days have little motivation. I feel like I'm going to end up MTing until I die in my chair here. What's worse is DH does not work (I think he's going through a mid life crisis), so when I see him out doing yard work and other stuff I'm a little jealous. I want to be quilting and reading, and playing games, and all these other projects but I have to work my tail off to pay the bills. I am getting burnt out though, but what I get paid here, in this town there is nothing that would pay as good. I keep learning new things through the local college and that helps a lot. The college here offers on-line courses for $99, so every once in awhile I will take one if it looks fun (like writing or a computer program). But just wish I had something a little more fun and exciting.
A very good friend once said... [2008-06-20]
*If you can raise a puppy, then raising a child is easy...*
I think you are on the right track. It I have a Corgi boy that did not train as fast as I thought he should, but he did get there after about 6-7 months. For me, since it was my first time, I had no idea how long it would take. It would probably go faster a 2nd time around. From some reading I did, it sounded like it should be in a matter of days, and some dogs just do not fit that mold.
It reminds me of all those who told me their baby slept through the night at 6 weeks of age. That did not happen for me until my 3rd child was born. Each child and puppy are different.
I'm so sorry for your loss. [2008-06-14]
What a gorgeous boy he was. He reminds me of one of the shelties we had when I was growing up. Ginger was mostly my mom's dog, and all the kids had moved out by the time she lost her. She took Ginger's jingling collar with her on her walks for a long time.
These are my good ol days [2008-05-11]
First being of course growing up where all I had to worry bout was studying in school and getting good grades. All four grandparents were alive. Grandma working wardrobe. I'm grateful for what I have but it is very depressing to see everything sky rocket. What used to cost me $100 a week for groceries I'm now spending around $200. So while I am grateful for what I do have I sure do miss the good old days.
Reminds me a lot of MTing when you get a new job [2008-05-09]

The good old days Remember? [2008-05-09]
I don But I have to get things off my chest. I am remembering the good old days of being an MT. I am even remembering the 1980s although those good times led to our recession now. But anyway, remember when you could make 1K a week at MTing, with job security and benefits? A boss who valued you like gold, because he/she knew you had special skills? When customer service was not just to the client but to each other employer to employee and visa versa.
I am hanging onto the mustang I bought in 2004 by a thread. It is practically brand new with low miles, because I can It has 1 flat tire and 1 spare because I can And I pay 504 a month for it. Think I can afford that anymore, when my lines don't count spaces anymore, or when the health insurance costs take up most of my checks? I am not complaining. I thank heavens I get to work at home and don't have to pay for clothes, gas, and day care.
But remember the days of big incentives that were reachable? 14K lines and you were a star? 12K lines a week was an embarrassment and now 12K lines a payperiod and you are amazing.. Remember eating steak? At a restaurant? Cruises. Being able to go shopping and not having to give an account to DH of every item spent? Having clothes for your kids as they grow out of them that did not come from good will?
Please share the good old days here. Even if it is when you typed with tri colored carbon paper and white out, but your boss said thank you every day, and the doctor was not so nasty. Then, the less great days as time when by 2K when computers were upgraded and no more cherry picking because you were now using Transnet. THose were STILL good days because they paid training and downtime.
Enough of me. How about the good old days from you? And it does not have to be about MTing, could be about anything. The days when Metros existed and you could get 45 MPH. Or days when Bazooka gum was a penny. Things like that. Looking forward to your response and BTW: TGIF, even to those who work the weekend!
Feel better but not happy [2008-04-22]
My husband and I just started the TNT diet last week. For the first 4 weeks it No starchy vegetables like potatoes, no fruits. I am such a bread and butter junkie I swear I could live off of it so I I lost 4 pounds in 5 days and then for some reason over the weekend, which I did not cheat except for 1 meal and not badly at that, I gained it back! But then again I think water weight gain may be the culprit.
Oh shoot that reminds me I need to go put my pot roast minus potatoes in the crockpot!
Glad your day turned out well...and that was [2008-04-19]
great you huddled. After dad talked to them on the phone, and they came back inside they did their chores, made their own lunches, while I tried to get that headache to go away. DH just took them with their allowances from last week to Walmart probably to remind them the positive points of being cooperative. Yep, I love them too and don't want to think about the next 15 years when they leave. I just think for me and maybe some of us it is difficult working at home all day and doing double, triple duty. I have been worried about my MT pay and wrote my DH a note today I am indeed going to take some time off from MTing because I feel burnt to a crisp. He said something about a month in a house at the beach (with kids, and with him just popping in), but I know I won't be able to take much time at all off from work. Our production job is so tough, man, some days are difficult for mom, dad and kids. But it cheers me to hear your day got better. Mine is too because I rested and the kids are out at Walmart which they love. About my taking time off from MTing, we'll see how long that lasts LOL. Dream, dream, dream.
I agree [2008-04-18]
Religion should be a personal thing. When you are doing something like that, praying on your knees in a public place, the only possibly reason for it is to make yourself feel superior (or some such nonsense).
It reminds me of flamboyant gay people. Why must they plaster rainbow stickers all over their cars? To get attention. They want the whole world to know what they do behind closed doors, just like religious people want everyone to know that they worship god. News flash: We don't care! It's a private, personal thing. Keep it to yourself!
Awesome [2008-04-14]

You must be totally frustrated [2008-04-04]
I'm not from your area, so sorry I don't have any recommendations (although I did go to Daytona Beach when I was 18 years old for a vacation - loved the beach). If I ever have to go to the doc I don't think I would ever tell them I'm an MT (mainly because of what you just said above). I would go without telling him what I do, listen to what he says and then if you don't agree I'd tell him I want to get a second opinion. Or if I was bold enough I might ask him who he sees when he is sick (or what he takes so he doesn't get sick because the attitudes of the docs suck). Kind of reminds me of the movie about the doc who got sick and found out what it was like to be a regular patient with nobody paying attention to you or giving you the answers you want.
When my daughter was 9 she had [2008-03-31]
her one and only cavity. When her dad asked her about the shot before they filled it she said she didnWould you like a valium? I said How about 10 I still don't knowwhat the problem was but she has had her teeth cleaned twice a year since (she is now 15) and we never had another problem. Go figure. LOL! Don't sweat it, it really isn't that bad at all.
I agree with you totally. It is not the world's buisiness. sm [2008-03-19]
If it was legal, it would not be as nasty. How about the feds regulate it and then maybe it wouldnwould happen. I would not give him what he wanted. He took me home the next day and I never heard a word from him again, ever. Got my pics in the mail, no note, nothing. His loss, LOL!
All forwards I put in the trash folder immediately even if I know the person. [2008-03-16]
People get mad at me for never responding, but I get annoyed when people who call me their friends send me 50 of these a day. It reminds me of telemarketing or junk mail only sent by friends! The only thing I ever do to family or close friends, is if I see an article in the paper, or on MSN, I e mail a link to the article. I do this like twice a year that's it. I had one friend actually never speak to me again, because she would send tons of these forwards and I'd never answer. She got extremely annoyed with me. Oh, well, I recently deleted my junk folder and it feels good. LOL.
Did ya ever just wanna talk about nuthin' just to talk? [2008-03-06]
As I said before in another post, I miss everyone so much...
So, I have absolutely NOTHING to talk about. Love my new job, love that spring is on the way, and I love that my belly is absolutely filled up with pancakes my husband kindly made for me just now...even though it I

Talking bout nothing [2008-03-06]
Reminds me of Seinfeld here. HA. I often wondered when I saw your name if you had a small farm or raised farm animals. DH and I often talk about one day wanting to get some chickens and alpacas to raise.
Lily of the Valley perfume... [2008-02-26]

Following up on not answering the phone [2008-02-15]
I have read the posts. This is a forum for all to post any and everything. By myself mostly, I have raised 2 children, bought my own house, cars, taken nice vacations with the kids usually to Club Med and the like when they were younger and to say am I not that smart to have asked such a question, this is insulting for a person even to imply that. Others on here post about marital infidelities, problems with in-laws, kids and the like. I asked for suggestions- nothing was written in concrete I had to use. I started MTing long before we worked out of our homes- by the time I was able to work from home the kids were in their 30s and 20s, grown! I had to work to make a living so in the summers rather than having to go to daycare, they visited relatives. (Peope even asked when time for bingo- it was directly across my home from me- started 8:30 so yes in the summer I was able to go). My daughter (who by the way I am having dinner with tonight) told me about a month or so ago her childhood was idyllic. I said really- she told me loved where we lived and she had a wonderful childhood. By the way, she has this rule and I am not allowed to call HER home before 12 on a weekend so she can sleep in. Again my asking her over and over to just ask me if I am upset should stand but this is something that continues with her. The person who said they listened to their father telling stories over and over again- when I do this, not aware that I am repeating, my daughter says - mama, you've told me that before. What works in 1 family does not necessarily work in another! I am soooo thankful working as much as I have in life- now I have found out next year when I start drawing my money at full retirement age from SS that it will be around 2,000 per month- by the way I am not planning on retiring- plan to continue working as long as I can because those are just my ethics and the way I have always been. I will always be their mother, true but they are not my entire life now- they are a portion like I am a portion of theirs. I think lots that post here are younger and true enough when the kids are young and such it is different than when they leave home and have their own lives. I don’t smoke, drink or do drugs, never brought strange guys home to stay the nights and did a darn good job with my kids. As far as my son, you only do so much and when your children are grown, not your responsibility how they decide to behave, good, bad or otherwise. Sure I would love to see him but when I said closing the bank back in 2000, the visits, telephone calls, etc. slowed down a lot. Think what you want- people do- but as for me, I have no regrets at all really about the entirety of my life, past and present.

charity, Teen Challenge of Georgia. Wow! I'm so glad they are on there! They only had 29 cents in their acct. so far for 2008 and after I searched a few names I jumped them up to 31 cents in about 2 seconds!! I am SO excited because I search ALL day long MTing. I am thrilled that they will earn a little something through my efforts! Thanks!!

Romey, Adia is just beautiful! [2008-02-07]
Oh I so love it when people post pictures! She is just beautiful and reminds me of my Norman, a Maine Coon stray we had a couple of years ago. He was just the fattest, most loveable guy and so laid back. Sure do miss him. He went MIA here in the woods and we figure a fisher got him, as every neighbor in the local area lost their cats in the same month.
But, yeah, I am IN LOVE with that neato fur bedspread and funky glittery purple pillow too! My animals would go NUTS for that spread!
