Just to lighten things up - this morning's news - sm [2008-11-15]
SPAM (the canned meat) is back, factory working overtime, two shifts. Only Christmas and Thanksgiving off. Remember Monty Pythom and Spamalot? One of the workers said he was glad to be working but doesn't think he could eat it. Before we knew what was in it, used to have Spam and eggs. I guess it's not that healthy but history repeating itself? Gotta keep it on the light side. A little humor helps sometimes.

Breaking News on MSNBC and CNN [2008-10-27]
Possibly Jennifer Hudson An SUV found in the case with a body found in it. What a terrible, terrible tragedy for her.

I am not alone! The news is driving [2008-10-23]
me nuts! But I am like a person with a sore tooth and your tongue canhere, and then they post the child's name on the screen. If the parents don't have anymore sense, you would think the TV station would. They have practically made themselves the pedophile home shopping network. And yes, I have actually written to all the major Houston stations and only one bothered to write me back, the NBC affiliate. I don't know if they stopped doing this, but I just saw one yesterday on ABC, so that had no effect on them. Oh, well, enough of my soap box.

This is old news.... [2008-10-20]
Rachel Maddow, news reporter of MSNBC just came out.

Yes, just saw that on the news. Here is more [2008-09-27]
BREAKING NEWS updated 11 minutes ago NEW HAVEN, Connecticut - A spokeswoman for screen legend Paul Newman said Saturday that the actor had died at age 83. Spokeswoman Marni Tomljanovic said Newman died Friday of cancer. No other details were immediately available. Newman was nominated for Academy Awards 10 times, winning a regular Oscar in 1987 for The Color of Money and two honorary ones. He was equally at home in comedies such as The Sting and dramas such as Hud. So sad. What a handsome man he was.

did you see on the news last night [2008-09-26]
with Charlie Gibson the bit about how women are the men of the house now? I can find absolutely no reason for a woman to get married anymore. Women are working, taking care of the house, taking care of the bills, doing everything and the men just seem to be there, and the men admitted that. I am married, have been for a loooong time but sometimes I look at my husband and think I would be better off on my own. He's a good husband, good father, the main bread winner but dang if he doesn't drive me nuts! If anything ever happened to my husband, I would never get married again. Don't feel the need and I don't understand women who can't seem to live without a man. Even though I'm married, I feel the same as you. I would be very content to be on my own again.

Nope, I don't watch the news. [2008-09-04]
I find that its all bad stuff or things that are blown out of proportion. If its something important I can read it in the paper every other week or so, or I will hear about it from friends.

The news does tend to be bad, true. Put your head back in the sand then. [2008-09-04]
However, see if you can stomach this....2 yr old toddler disappears for a month as her mother appears to party like a 22 year old with no children by the camera's eye. When grandma finally realizes something is amiss upon discovering her daughters abandoned car with the smell of decomposing human tissue in the trunk, the 911 calls begin. Casey Anthony is a deeply disturbed young woman who by all appearances seems to have done away with her beautiful little girl by means of a shovel and gasoline. The truly unfortunate person here is the child, Caylee, whose mother is a monster.

do you watch the news? [2008-09-03]
I guess it's good not to, nothing good is ever on.

What the news this morning said - [2008-08-14]
That as of this year for sure one of the girls was in another competition and was listed as 14 and now she is 16 because that is what her passport says...I heard there are 3 in question who are said to be 14. I can *say* I am 19 and get a passport from somewhere to say as much, butdoes itmean I am not really 44??

I saw it on the news this morning [2008-08-09]
at around 8:30 EST. What a shocking tragedy for the family and team at this time that they expected to be the most exciting of their lives, probably. That and the story on John Edwards. He sure is an odd one.

News story - did anyone else here this - too funny [2008-06-04]
I was just watching the news and there is a story about a lady who won a prize at some baseball game - her prize?.... a funeral and a casket. The catch. She has 30 years to claim her prize. We are just rofl. I can hear the annoucement over the loudspeaker at the game.....And congrats to our winner Mrs. ----. You have just won....a buriel!

I wish news stories couldn't come out until the person is convicted [2008-05-13]
There's a local news story about an 18 year old star athlete who's been accused of rape by a 16 year old. He'd been accepted at a local university, who now is saying they won't hold a spot for him on the football team until the matter is resolved. If it turns out to be untrue, chances are most people won't hear that tidbit. All they'll remember is the bad stuff. That's a shame.

more stimulus news . . . [2008-05-12]
I just found out that if you had you taxes done by a financial institution like HR Block and you chose to have their fee taken from your refund then you receive your stimulus by mailed check, so you should check the mailing schedule, not direct deposit

That is incredibly uplifting wonderful news! nm [2008-05-05]

My good news [2008-05-03]
My youngest son is graduating high school in less than a month with state and school honors and got offered a huge scholarship at one of our state schools, which he has proudly agreed to accept. He wants to pursue chemical engineering and work with alternative energy sources. This is our bright future, and I am so proud.

My good news... [2008-05-03]
My daughter, who graduates from high school in a month, got accepted to the college she wanted to go to this fall. She was thrilled!

Now please don't think I'm knocking anyone for posting them but I really really need a pick me up today and I think a lot more are needing it too. Sooooo that being said....does anyone have any good news to share? Anyone preggers, expectant grandparents, bought a new outfit, shoes, jewelry?

My good news? [2008-05-02]
I'm alive! And on a totally trivial note - I finally figured out how to use a banana comb in my hair without it looking like a disaster.

(Pet Pulse Illustration by Tim Mattson) PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- The wandering 65-pound Pit Bull mix might have seemed menacing to some passerby, but one woman will always remember him as her guardian angel. The dog, which authorities think is lost and not a stray, successfully thwarted a robbery attack on a mother and her 2-year-old son, who were held at knifepoint Monday afternoon. The Florida woman, who has been identified by authorities simply as Angela, was leaving a playground with her toddler son in Port Charlotte when a man approached her in the parking lot with a knife and told her not to make any noise or sudden movements. Angela didn't have to do either to protect herself and her child -- a dog mysteriously ran to the scene and charged the man, who quickly fled. I don Animal Control Lt. Brian Jones told Pet Pulse. I don The exceptional part of the story, Jones said, is that the dog had never met or even seen the people it quickly jumped to defend. You hear about family dogs protecting their owners, but this dog had nothing to do with this woman or her kid, Jones said. He was like her guardian angel. After the alleged thief ran away, Angela quickly placed her son, Jordan, in the car and tried to drive off. Before she could, though, the dog jumped into her backseat, waiting with her for the police and animal control officers to arrive at the scene. The dog was transported to a local shelter and if his owners donAngel. Animal control officers and shelter workers believe Angel is lost, and not a stray, because of his good health, sturdy weight and mild temperament. It Jones said of Angel's possible owners. For Angela, it doesn't matter where the dog came from, just that he was there when she needed him most. I don Angela told NBC2 News. For a small town with a population of 46,452, animal control officers were kept busy Monday afternoon. Jones says they department also responded to a report about a boa constrictor in a church parking lot. The snake found its way into a car engine and was able to be removed without being harmed. It took three people to move the massive, seemingly random placed snake. It he said of the Gulf Coast town. And we can go for four or five months without the media contacting us about a story. It Officers from the responding county sheriff's office canvased the area and were unable to locate the suspect described as being in his 20s, tall and dark haired. i think it is gross [2008-11-14]

Bah humbug on Santa? No way! [2008-11-14]
When kids get on the school bus or talk in the cafeteria, what would happen? Perhaps group mentality which we learn in Psych 4, is what you are thinking, but what about going along to get along? For Petep double ee on their parade. Kids know - they believe in a Sants, i.e., St. Nick, i.e., blue and white stuff for 8 days for the Jewish kids. So what -- for goodness sake, let the kid ge a kid! Play - toys - Chris Kringle - whatever! Donabove it all. Get real! DonSanta. He is not Satan - he is S A N T A. Got your letters crossed.

Most are just hoping to have some joy for their kids sm [2008-11-14]
Wefantasy. They do put it together at a certain age and itWe had an older kid who spoiledour Christmas party because he thought it his business to out the Santa thing to the younger ones as he was, bless him, highly intelligent and was told the truth from birth. Had some kids crying at one point. I think the point is, do what's right for your own family and try to have something for the kids to look forward to in these hard times especially. There is no right or wrong, just all interpret things differently and we're all very tired of all this bad news going on in the world. Have to look forward to something! Happy Holidays, no matter how you celebrate! We adults know the reason for the season. Bottom line - be happy! Life is temporary, imagination is wonderful, it takes us away from the bad news for awhile. Joy to the world and to each his own. As long as the older kids keep the secret to themselves, they also should enjoy the excitement of watching the little ones have fun with it. It's all good.

my money's on your dog. Listen to [2008-11-13]
him. My old dog one time was growling so low I did not hear her,I felt it through the leash at a park. It was a really nice looking young man whom I would not have been suspicious of at all, but when I looked down at her, her fur was up and she was poised to attack, a typical german shepherd stance with one back leg crouched. She did not like him at all and was not even wasting her time barking. I had to hold up hand up to him and tell him to stop where he was. This was a first although I had seen her become very protective in the house, always slept between me and the door and she always tried to answer the door ahead of me. It turned out these were gypsy pavers staying in my sister's park and they were all nothing but trouble, even making the news in Chicago when one mistreated her child in the parking lot.

One thing I forgot to add was that - sm [2008-11-11]
a big part of the problem is owners who don't neuter their male dogs. Most of the attacks on the news in my area seem to involve un-altered males. The dog that had me cornered was also an un-altered male. There was a really horrible attack in San Francisco a couple years ago... a 12-year-old boy was killed in his own home by the family's pet pitbulls. (Un-altered males). Apparently there was already a problem with them, and the mother knew the dogs couldn't be trusted with her son (who was afraid of them) home alone. A female she had was in heat at the time, too. The boy was home alone, and the mother had locked the dogs in another room. Somehow, they got out, and tore the poor boy to shreds. Imagine being the mom and coming home to that! When animal control picked up the dogs, they had the boy's blood all over them. I actually recognized one of them - had seen someone walking it through the park one day. So the problem was... even though the mother knew the dogs might be dangerous, and she tried to do the right thing by locking them up, on that particular day, that wasn't enough. Granted, they don't all act like that. Plus just about any breed can revert to a predatory pack mentality under the right conditions. But again, irresponsible breeding has changed the breed in large part for the worse (they're bigger and more aggressive). Unresponsible owners who don't properly socialize the dogs (or who fight them, or encourage them to be aggressive for 'protection') are the worst offenders. And those who are backyard breeders. Now there are 'way too many of them, and 'way too many with the bad bloodlines, too. And you won't believe THIS: Remember the story about the huge Presa Canario dogs that killed a woman in a San Francisco apartment hallway? (Earning their owners some well-deserved jail-time). Well, some people are actually crossing pits and Presas! Saw some for sale the other day on Craigslist. Talk about breeding 'biting machines'! Those things will grow up to be 150-lb. pitbulls-on-steroids.

No perfect family here sm [2008-11-11]
When I was younger and innocent, I believed I had started a wonderful tradition of having my family over for the holidays because I was the oldest and first married. After many years of dysfunction, second marriages, sibling rivalry, etc., have gone back to the basics, just my husband, my kids and their kids. I no longer have to listen to, I etc. I no longer have to wash my house down from smoking and no longer have to pick up half-empty alcoholic drinks (which by the way causes more havoc and tongue slips). We are happier, saner, and sober and we enjoy the holidays much more than when I spent a whole weekHome for the Holidays, National Lampoon and other films such as those and laugh at what used to be. Ifix people anymore, I can only fix myself. I don't think there is a Hallmark perfect family. If there is, it's news to me!

I'm a dog lover, and most dogs love me. - sm [2008-11-10]
I can be walking down the street, simply make eye contact with one and smile without saying a word, and the dog will usually rush up to me, wagging his tail like crazy and acting all silly and lovey-dovey. In the past, some of the absolute sweetest dogs I'd ever known were pits & rotties. But that was in the ྌs, before the big 'gangsta-dog' thing became popular. Then people started breeding these dogs more for a surly attitude than for good temperament, and it seems to be a dominant trait that's getting passed forward, even when unintended. So fast-forard to 2 weeks ago. I was out walking in my neighborhood, and was coming up a long flight of sidewalk stairs that go up the steep hill I live on. Halfway up, I saw a big brown pit bull standing there looking at me. I had seen him running loose on my street earlier in the day, and wondered whose he was, but then forgot about him. He had an aggressive body-language that I didn't like. But I'm not afraid of dogs, and continuned on up the steps, and talked to him nicely as I reached the top. But then the dog totally went off, and began barking, growling, and making charges at me. I knew to stand my ground, and first tried sweet-talking him. Didn't work. If I tried to slowly move away from him in any direction, he'd come around and try to come in at me from behind. There wasn't a soul around. I tried scaring him off, but that only exacerbated the problem, so I decided to just stand there and let him do his thing. 20 minutes later, he was just as aggressive as ever, maybe worse, because his charges were coming closer and closer. The only 'weapon' in my possession was a single can of cat food in a plastic bag, that I'd walked down the hill to the market to buy. Considered whacking him with it, but didn't want to be in that close to him. Turns out the owners were in an apartment right across the street. A couple finally came out and called off the dog, stating Oh, we didn (I doubt that - the dog had been out all afternoon.) Anyway, I told them I'd call the sheriff and/or animal control if I ever saw him out again. When I got home, I called animal control anyway, and filed a formal complaint, so that if he bit anyone in the future, there would already be a complaint against him, and he likely would not be released from the shelter. Animal control said they'd follow up with the owner, which hopefully they did. In the meantime, I did 2 things: I programmed the sheriff's phone numberinto my cellphone, which I now slip into my pocket whenever I go out for a walk. Good thing to do, anyway. The other thing is I went to Army-Navy Surplus, and bought a cannister of professional-grade pepper spray. Not the wimpy, .02% 'dog-repellent'. I doubt that would stop a pitbull. I got the 15% stuff that will bring a 200-pound, raging crack-addict to his knees and keep him there for more than an hour. That goes into my pocket, as well. Now I can walk & bike with peace of mind. Meanwhile, those pitbull owners should consider themselves very lucky that their dog went after someone who knows dogs, is not afraid, and didn't RUN. If a timid woman, or worse, a child, had come up those steps that afternoon, the resulting attack might have made the 6 o'clock news that night. There are probably still some gentle pits left out there, but I think their numbers are declining because of the current fashion statement of being a 'big bad gangsta, with my big, bad gansta-dog'. They want their dogs to intimidate people, and then they wonder why they can't rent an apartment or get homeowners insurance to cover dog bites. In some cities you have to post a $30,000 bond in order to keep one. It's little wonder that unwanted pits and pit-mixes are clogging up our animal shelters. I feel sorry for the animals, but if I were adopting, I wouldn't want the financial liability of owning one.

I have a jar in by my bed...sm [2008-11-06]
as we speak and am never without it in the house. My Mom (who would have been 80 had she lived) said they used to EAT Vicks VapoRub when she was a kid. I use it in each nostril for nasal congestion. The aroma is so soothing to me, maybe from my childhood. Needless to say, this news is exciting. Wish I would have known about it last week when my grandson was coughing his head off. I'll keep it in mind for the next time and will be sure to tell others. Thanks for sharing with us.

I think you should tell them and let them decide what they want to do. [2008-11-04]
My husband died six months ago suddenly and unexpectedly. My niece, who just turned 12, has always been extremely close to my husband and me, and spends a lot of time at our house. LIke your children, she had never experienceddeath in aclose relative before. The day he died, my brother and sister-in-lawpicked her up from school and broke the news to her. She was sad of course and she cried for quite a while. Her parents gave her the choice of what she wanted to do in regards to go to the funeral home and/or attend the funeral. She chose to come to the funeral home and sit with me, and to attend the funeral. She later wrote on the subject when the class had to write an essay at school about a life altering event. She wrote about how much she loved her uncle and she felt that was her last chance to say goodbye, as she didnShe was sad that he died suddenly and she didn't know ahead of time, and that seemed to hurt her a lot, even though nothing could change that. As for me, her presence at that time made mefeel a little better. My husband She She knows sometimes when I get a little sad, that I'm thinking of my husband, and she totally understands, cause she still misses him too. I know this is kind of rambling, but I hope it makes sense. I think kids want to be a part of our experiences, the good and the bad, and I think to exclude them, even when you think you Good luck to you and your family. My prayers are with you.

Ditto! [2008-11-04]
I think this is wonderful news!

I know your pain! [2008-10-30]
I went through the same type of thing years ago. I remember after a repeated battles with them, I saw a segment on the local news (talking about the outbreak) and that it's important not to make a big deal about it (so the kids don't think it's so bad). I remember thinking ... right, you go through this crap over and over and then say not to make a big deal about it!! Anyway, I saw on the show The Doctors that mayo works, but I see you already know about that. I don't know any other good tricks but know people who have cut their girls' hair very short to make the whole process easier. Maybe you could make sure you kids wear something on their heads on the bus as a barrier. Also, I know sometimes at school for young ones who hang coats near each other, they will have them put garbage bags over their coats. One time when my kids got them, I also got them, and they got really bad before I realized why I was itching in my occiput so badly at night. Eeeew! My husband never got them (figures). :)

Who needs them [2008-10-28]
Yesterday I was saddened beyond words. Who needs enemies with family like this. DH was talking to his half brother (15 years younger than DH) and these are some of the statements brother made to him. First let mesayhis brother is from a second marriage. MIL hates to acknowledge her3 kids from her first marrage. She has always felt they are inferior to her youngest. They live in a different state so we don So here is what his little punk half brother said to him. Even though it is brought on by political talk, this is more of a family issue post so didncomments (whichwere spoken with fake southern accent). 1. I'm not dumb, I went to a University (husband went to state colleges). 2. When told he should be prepared if he gets drafted he said oh no they wouldn't draft me, I work for a prestigious company and I went to a University and if I was drafted I would automatically be an officer, I wouldn't have to do all the other stuff the uneducated ones do. 3. Why do you live in that state you do? Only bumpkins live there. 4. Why do you keep moving? Have you done something illegal and are trying to hide? (Weve been at the same address for 2 years. 5. You should be happy is O gets in, you When DH said what in the world makes you think I donyou do? (I think it's odd that he didn't even ask DH what he does). 6. You know your just stup!d because you voted for GW. When DH said to him what makes you think we voted for him? He just said you didn We all thought you voted for him. DH said, no I didn 7. He made a comment about there might be a bloody war coming in the middle east and then said Oh I. DH said well no, why would you say that. Then the little *(% changes the subject. In the past we have been told that only the stup!d uneducated people go into the military (we were both in the military - me for 3 years and DH for 12 years. Husband also has an IQ of around 129, but he has always been told he is inferior (not in those exact words) because he didnUniversity. DH told him I wanted to go to this place or that and if mommy daddy could pay the way for me too I would have been able to go(not in those exact terms) and then his brother got upset and was trying to say DH was saying he was stup!d. Then his mom got in on it and told DH he's picking on him and jealous, etc. I just canhis own brother could say such hurtful things. I could understand if its someone you donItthat he He said their true colors really came out. And if you want to talk about intelligence DH will bring up subjects like what All he wants to talk about is sports (which DH hates sports) or who the Survivor or American Idol winner is. It is just really sad to be treated like your nothing by your own family. We have decided we will not be answering the phone from now on if he calls and just not talking to him for a long long time and let him think about what he did. Me particularly, I don Just very very sad. Okay, Sorry so long, just felt heartbroken and had to get it out.

See, that is why I asked. The only [2008-10-23]
bits of news here about her is in a ticker tape running at the bottom of the screen. Had no idea anything had been found on a road. The thing about the trunk was that I have seen so many younger women and girls doing that here. It drives me crazy because they are exposed and more vulnerable than if they had just gotten into their cars. I pretty much don't even carry a purse anymore, just whatever I need that can fit into my pockets. Some of the nurses getting to work were locking their purses in the trunks, too, instead of just using a locker inside. It also made me wonder if she were doing that if someone could have ridden all the way home with her, or could have been waiting outside her door somewhere. Too much CSI here or mystery books! Thanks everybody for updating me. I hope she will be alright.

IABLE to lower the prices NOW when they've been so high for so long. I haven't seen or heard anything on the news about it at all. Has anyone else heard an explanation? I'm wondering if maybe people found alternative means of transportation so that there's just really a lot less demand now. Has anyone heard that that's what's brought this about?

Gays march for their rights to be involved with their long-time partners [2008-10-17]
health care should a drastic decision be made. It is usually a family member...even though we are the ones who take care of our partners when they are sick or dying. We fight for the right not to be thrown out of a shared house by the partner's parents. We want to honor our partner's wishes when they die as we are the ones who have spent years with them - not the family. These are just a few examples. As far as your comment that we influence young people - that is absurd. All we want is to live our life and as pxmt said, be able to walk down the street without abusive comments, being assaulted, ridiculed, etc. The school system is not segregating gay children - they are making it gay friendly and teaching tolerance. Suicide is very high in gay children because of the parents who teach their children that it is evil and it is okay to bash a gay child. These schools are just trying to save the lives of young children. As far as your comment that Christian's homes and churches are burned, sorry but I cannot recall one incident that I have read or saw on the news. Temples yes. As far as being assaulted for your beliefs, could it be because you stand in front of abortion clinics and gun down the doctors and nurses that come out or go into the clinic? Could it be that you bully the 15 and 16-year-olds who have been raped and want an abortion? Sorry to say this, at least we (gays) are not violent and just want to be left alone.

My rights [2008-10-16]
Okay, so the school takes the kids on a field trip to see the gay marriage of their teacher and this is a because the school considers it a learning experience? And so, too bad to those people whose religion this goes against. But if I were a teacher or ran a school and it was decided that we would be taking our children on a field trip to say a Christian church or maybe Israel where Jesus lived and died, you know totally as a learning experience and to teach them the history of a man that many people, even those who are not Christians, believed to have lived, there would be world wide riots! Parents would be spitting mad, the school would be sued, it would be national news and I would be fired. It would be againts peopleshoving my religion down their throats and blah blah blah. Being gay is a sin. I didn The Bible speaks VERY plainly about it many times. Tolerance does NOT mean agreement. Tolerance is NOT accepting something that is wrong. Saying that it is wrong is NOT intolerance. I dont think that someone who is gay should be shunned, beaten, publically humiliated. That is tolerance.

what i have to put up with as a Christian [2008-10-16]
I cannot pray in public. My children cannot pray in school. Basically I can never mention God in any conversation w/o being called a fanatic like I am some kind of third world kook ready to strap on a bomb. My children and I can hardly watch TV anymore because of the language or sexual content. Even most commercials are to explicit for my young ones to see. I cant even hardly watch the news anymore w/o screening it first. I cant go to a store or a public place with my kids w/o them being exposed to half dressed women/men. Sometimes we get to be exposed to men dressed as women or vice versa. I cant go to the movie store with my kids and browse through the selections w/o seeing many, many movies with lesbians or gay men on the cover of the movie boxes, lying in bed half naked. So, this is what I have to be exposed to daily and this is what my INNOCENT children have to be exposed to daily. Dont tell me I am not tolerant.

The worst part is over. Telling him the truth. I'm sure there was great stress of holding all of that from him as the debt mounted and now that he knows, you can work together. As far as debt consolidation companies, just be very very careful about which company you choose. There are some out there who will take you for a ride. You will make your payments and your debt goes nowhere. They will just pocket the money and not pay the bills. Then there are some out there that do not charge a fee at all. They will help you set up a payment plan, help you with contacting your creditors to arrange payoffs, even negotiate with them to lower the amount you owe. I'm sorry I can't give you names because I never really paid that much attention to those companies but I have heard of some through the local news in their consumer watch segments. Will see if I can find the names of some reputible companies and post back. Good luck to you. I

This fascinates me [2008-10-15]
What is my agenda exactly? Here's a hint: 5:00 a.m. Smack alarm and crawl out of bed. 5:15 Shower 5:30 Must. Have. Coffee. 5:30-6:00 Feed, pet, pee animals. 6:00 Breakfast 6:30-3:30 or 4 Work 4-ish Run to grocery, post office, other random gay agenda type errands, pet, play with animals 6-ish to 10-ish Dinner and conversation with SO, other hideous gay agenda type activities such as dishes, laundry, bill paying, more romping around with cats and dogs, read newspaper perhaps, maybe news and/or a DVD. 10-ish to 11-ish Hopefully bed time. Protection from physical harm is not special attention. Being able to go about onespecial attention. The only people with anyoneagenda shoved down their throat are folks like me in regard to sexual orientation. We really donaccept or tolerate us. Just get out of our way and mind your own business, live your own life, do your own thing.

Unplug [2008-10-13]
I just went through our house this weekend to unplug anything possible from the wall. I heard something on the radio about how much energy they suck even if they are not being used but still plugged into the wall. I don't know what to think about the economy anymore. In all honesty, I'm staying in the dark at this point. I don't watch the news or read the papers. The way I look at it, if its something I really need to know - I'll hear it from a friend anyway. Today's world is too depressing.
