You got it right on the illegals - sm [2008-05-13]
Free health care, free housing, free food, free education. Wish I could be so lucky. Really burns my biscuits. I truly believe that if they come here illegally and reap the benefits illegally, any children they have here should NOT be legal EITHER! Don't even get me started on health care (lack of would be more correct) for legal citizens.

Illegals [2008-01-13]
I think your view on this could also depend on the state you live in. My brother and sister live in California and are just livid when it comes to illegals and what is going on out there in California. I live in Michigan and have just not been as aware of the problem as they are. I feel like I have been working so hard to earn a living that I am clueless a lot of the time about what is going on out in the real world. On the other hand maybe it's not such a bad thing to be unaware! All I know for sure is that I don't feel a whole lot of pride in being American lately - the war in Iraq that is draining us of beautiful young people who are dying over there and all the money it is costing. . . having no idea who I want to vote for in this election since I can't get enthused about any candidate . . . yeah maybe I better just keep my head down and keep typing . . . just had to edit out a word that started with S and couldn't believe it - not a swear, just a work that is synonymous with dumb! Yikes

just have to vent about illegals......sm [2007-06-29]
we had a 9-month pregnant mother and fetus that got killed this week in an auto accident. emergency section didn hit by a drunk driver who was 15-yo and illegal. he lied and said he was 19. well of course they are trialing as a minor, but you know what he was an adult enough to lie about his age, bigolly charge him for the age he wanted to be!!!!!!

ILLEGALS [2007-06-29]
I am so sick of this; it is happening weekly. We already had enough drunk drivers and criminals. When will we have had enough that someone builds the fence and rounds them all up? I do not feel sorry for the separated families. We all know that if they missed them that much they would go back to be with them. The fact that they donpatients I cared for were illegals. We are all footing the bill for them and it has to stop. I feel like if you are over the age of 14 and you get drunk, drive without a license, and kill someone it should be a mandatory life sentence. In his case they should just send him and his illegal family back to Mexico and keep tabs on them so they can't re-enter the US. That is the only way! If we quit paying for their free healthcare and schooling, we could afford to police our borders and keep our country safe for all Americans.

No money for illegals [2007-06-01]
That was such a good observation. They also buy up chunks of our property here, but if we buy there in Mexico it reverts back to the government after 99 or 100 years. If that is how they are to us, then I say no US property should be sold to those without citizenship. I think she should spend another two dollars an hour and hire Americans to work around her house. There are good American people out there who, like us, only want to make a living wage and these people are driving them out of employment.

This has nothing to do with identifying illegals...... [2007-05-12]
There will come a time when you will be able to do NOTHING without this ID. The illegals will do anything they want, why do you think they're illegal? Any state that does not accept this ID card will basically be ignored as a state in this country, your country.

WalMart also contracts out companies they know hire illegals. There was [2006-12-11]

I've done it too a couple of times. [2008-08-29]
I moved from OH to FL when I was 19. I wanted to get away from the snow! I had the best time and wouldn't trade the experience for the world. I lived in Atlanta for 5 years, moved from there 5 years ago. The area was way too congested for my liking. Just to go to the grocery store was bumper to bumper traffic. As a matter of fact, there was traffic any time of the day or night. Even when you leave Atlanta and go 1 hour in any direction, you are STILL in traffic! It was ridiculous. The other thing about Atlanta that we did not like is that because of the rapid growth, we had trouble hiring anybody to do anything. We would get estimates for work on our house. They would want the money up front and then say we. It was awful. We ended up always hiring illegals (which there is also an abundance of in Atlanta and surrounding area) who always did a good job and always showed up! It even took 6 weeks to get a phone line put in. I could rant and rave for a long time about Atlanta but you get the picture. I really cannot recommend it. On the other hand, I am feeling a little jealous of your freedom. Do it while you can! Good luck.

Sounds like we work on the same account! [2008-08-05]
LOL I get irate too, report after report about illegals and all the free crap they get, and doctors even giving them advice on how to get more freebies.

I HAVE A BRAINSTORM [2008-01-01]
Get him really drunk (doen't sound like it will be too hard). Put him on a plane for another country far away. If he returns, do this over and over again until he gets the message. Hopefully, he won't remember you were the one who sent him on the plane. The only problem I see is how to get the plane to take him drunk. We need to work on that angle. We could maybe charter a plane and pay a lot so they will take him in a drunken state? We could send him to Afghanistan or somewhere in Korea. Maybe if the plane won't take him you could hire someone to drive him across the border into Mexico and let him out of the car out in the boonies somewhere. I think Mexico owes us one for all the illegals they have sent here. One drunk shouldn't be a problem for them. Seriously, I hope you are OK. He sounds like a real turkey. Don't let him get you down with his controlling behaviors. Save your $$$$ and move your tent to a new village.

Percentages [2007-07-05]
The percentages differ from state to state (prison population). I donplayed the sytem in order to be transferred into the mental health system. They admitted it. They get three meals a day and a rack. Free medical care. They are not transferred out until they can meet the criteria, which can be a long, long time. Some of them are in our facilities for young offenders, then when they turn 18 they are transferred to prision or mental health (still incarcerated). While they are there our tax dollars even at times pay for outings at various places including Disneyland for them as therapy because they have been so deprived. Can you say you have not fully researched this topic or actually worked in the field? In addition, I would like to remind you that my name is certainly not Bessie, she was my aunt!

RELATIVES FROM OTHER COUNTRIES [2007-07-03]
My husband is a first generation American. His folks came here legally, worked their buns off, and did it the right way. My father-in-law became a citizen as did his sister. My husband's sister married a man whose entire family came here LEGALLY from Beirut during that awful war where they lost everything, their businesses, their homes, couldn't even leave their hiding places to buy grocersies because they were shot at, so they went without food for quite some time. They were singled out there because they allowed the females in their family to go to college. Can you imagine? They came here with what they could salvage LEGALLY, then got jobs and saved their money until they could start their own businesses. All of these humble people respected our laws and now are part of us. They are all Americans now except my mother-in-law who passed away still with her green card, but she always showed up and did what she needed to do legally to stay in this country and she loved it. None of them worked for anyone illegally or under the table. I say send all the illegals back. All of them. She is right, we don't have enough natural resources or cash to take care of all these people who do not respect us anyway and take and take and give nothing to to contribute to our society except more illegal things in order to earn a buck. Like sell drugs, drive drunk, pretend to be Jose Somebody at the ER so they won't have to pay the bill that we all cover. Enough.

Kinda funny story - company had to close doors temporarily because (sm) [2007-06-30]
someone (I think immigration) came to visit personnel at that company and found over 30 illegals using the same social security number. I guess that company didn't save much on that little venture.

I doesn't matter if you like Ann Coulter or not. I am not even [2007-06-30]
very familiar with her, other than hearing her name. She has a good point. If the illegals couldn't get the jobs, they couldn't stay here. Prosecute the owners of companies who hire them. Put a few CEOs in prison, problem solved.

meant-if all americans were rude like you.... [2007-06-30]
I know so many foreigners - some legal, some not legal - and NONE OF THEM - added all together - come off as rude as some posters here.........that's for sure.........and some of them work 5 jobs.......hence, why they're doing so well in this country. Many Americanpeoplewon't *lower* themselves to do ANY menial type work - so all the illegals and some non-illegals will do anything to stay here...and no, they don't spend their time on bulletin boards online like some *white collar* workers seemingly always do..... have a nice day/evening

no different than amer. companies offshoring.....sm [2007-06-30]
I donand what American employers are willing to pay today...........and in either case, we are all losing our jobs to foreigners (whether they are legal, offshore, or illegal workers). just my opinion.........

Whoa there Bessie. Back up... [2007-06-30]
I beg to differ with your mom's statistics. I have spent many hours in volunteer work mentoring the children of inmates. Many times have I seen the visiting rooms, participated in seminars and such. Texas prison as an example (the Guilag state) had 125,655 inmates in 2002. Of those 70% were African American....your illegals did not quite rise to the 6% category. Don't think that this means that blacks actualy commit 70% of our crime here...its just that they get arrested 7 tmies more often than whites. Can you say bigotry?

ANN COULTER [2007-06-29]
Ann was on Fox last night and she says (and it makes sense) that if the employers are penalized beyond what they are saving by hiring illegals then there will be no more jobs for them. That does make sense. Maybe everyone who knows an illegal is at their place of employment ought to make it known to the border patrol or whoever you tell it to and they should be deported that very day and the employer fined about $100,000.00 a head. Now, when will this happen? I can't wait!

you hit the nail on the head; the only way they were able to "prove" his age was by school rec [2007-06-29]
my mom also works at a prison and she says about 75% of them are illegals so we not only foot their education, we foot to take care of them after they come here and commit their crime for life.

i would withhold the check or have your landlords withhold it sm [2007-06-14]
until their mess is cleaned up including every cig butt there is in the hard. my DH is a roofing contractor and it is hard. you can't find good quality laborers in any construction field anymore. it is the scum of the US doing that kind of work mostly. mostly druggies, irresponsible, manner less people or illegals. the illegals have dropped the pay scale down just has MT pay scale has done so you can't get good laborers at those price rates anymore. i would definitely make a report with the BBB after it's all said and done. you can't do much about the water/pool, but definitely withhold pay until your yard is clean and the way it was before their arrival.

yeah but...Mexico is gorgeous. Hey, I went to Cancun. I look at sm [2007-06-02]
it this way: If more of us were to vacation and spend our money there enjoying their gorgeous wild life and pretty beaches, that would give them plenty of tourist money and they wouldn't have to leave their country! I respect those hard-working Mexicans who stay in Mexico (like the ones who courted us at the resort), and I support the likes of them. They work hard, stay in their country, and I will give them good tips and help them to help their families as I enjoy snorkeling, deep sea fishing, and great food. I wouldn't put all Mexicans into a box and say that you wouldn't give them a dime. Yes, there are illegals here who have no morals and I certainly don't support them! But, like I said, I do support those hard-working ones who are staying in their own country. I don't see a problem in that.

I had to have all that when I went to [2007-05-12]
replace my SS number. I think I've had to get all that together just to start a job, too. I don't see what the big deal is. I'm all for anything that helps ID illegals and sends them home.

This has nothing to do with identifying illegals...... [2007-05-12]
There will come a time when you will be able to do NOTHING without this ID. The illegals will do anything they want, why do you think they're illegal? Any state that does not accept this ID card will basically be ignored as a state in this country, your country.

You bet it will be a tracking device......see inside [2007-05-12]
You think other countries have the right to know where YOU are at all times when we don't even know where the terrorists and illegals are? The bill is wide open to add more and more identifying info about you onto it so that our government and OTHER governments have way too much info on you, a legal citizen in a FREE country. WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!! How do you call that free? This legislation gives authority to the Secretary of Homeland Security to expand required information on driver's licenses, potentially including such biometric information as retina scans, finger prints, DNA information, and even Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) radio tracking technology. Including such technology as RFID would mean that the federal government, as well as the governments of Canada and Mexico, would know where Americans are at all times of the day and night.

Falling on deaf ears........and [2007-05-12]
I also urge them to contact their senators and congressman, but I am sad to say too often these things fall on deaf ears. I am forever amazed at how people in this country think if something is imposed by their government, it must be okay! They donOh well, what. Putting more restrictions on US citizens does what for us? Does anyone ever ask what the purpose is for? If they actually think this has anything to do with locating illegals, they are really gullable. The government knows where illegals are....they're in sanctuary cities, heck, they're in my city. Do you see them rounding them up and deporting them? They're marching down our streets holding the Mexican flag.....get a clue...it has NOTHING to do with protecting us. The borders are wide open to illegals, north and south. Instead of taking our freedoms from us, crack down on businesses hiring illegals, quit giving them welfare assistance, free education, free healthcare, free, free, free for ILLEGALS, and guess what?.....no jobs, no healthcare, no freebies, they will go back home. Their home. Does anyone actually ask why we are creating this new law? It's as if they don't really want to know, don't want to be bothered with reading and studying the bill, don't want to question why this is even necessary. If our government says to, then of course it must be good for us because, after all, we are too dumb a people to think for ourselves, at least that's what the federal government hopes, that you'll all sit on your complacent behinds and do nothing......until the deed is done.

completely agree w/your point on legal/illegal, but sm [2007-05-10]
I wish the outrage regarding illegals was across the board. When it comes to Mexicans, since they benefit big business and since their only dirty business is under their fingernails, it's okay. I'm just saying we shouldn't have one standard for one religion or race and a different one for another.

I'm not aware of any standards at public places [2007-05-10]
And to add to your point about Mexicans, all their dirty business is NOT only under their fingernails. Have you not heard of the gangs they have all over this country...something 13 or another they call themselves. They are viscious, ruthless people, and are going into areas where they think the local law officials won't be on to them. They try to intimidate and scare communities into silence so they can get their garbage drug trade and smuggling stuff going in silence. Our prisons are so full of illegals, they can't hold the legals, but of course, lets not gather them up and deport them back to their wonderful country...lets house and feed them, give their kids a free education better than they're getting there, free healthcare, the list goes on and on. Now, our president wants to make sure they can get SS benefits....for WHAT? In our community, you can go into Wal-Mart late in the evening and our stores are full of young Mexicans, mother, father, and always a baby, maybe 2 or 3, but where do you suppose they were born? The parents can't or won't speak English (since they want to be a loyal US citizen). My daughter teaches a school where the kids abound and their parents are most likely illegal, but until we stop this practice of giving citizenship to an illegal born in this country, this will never change. I'm with Ron Paul on this one....we can't keep a sovereign nation when we allow an invasion of our country. We can't absorb these people into our communities without major negative consequences.

Not so sure about that.......sm [2007-04-25]
I would like to see our military come home...we have several family members over there and it pains me to know they are in constant danger. Nearly lost one when a roadside bomb went off. But, since the Dems haven't come up with a plan yet, I question what they will do when/if in office. I'm not glorifying Bush by any means, because I have watched him hand this country over to illegals, put our Border Patrol Agents in prison (one in my state), getting the heck beat out of them, our healthcare system overwhelmed and ERs closing because of illegals overwhelming the ER, free healthcare for them, wanting to give them Social Security now without even having to work for it, the No Child Left Behind thing is a joke. There's a lot of reasons he has disappointed me. If he can't protect our the borders that surround our country, why should I worry about borders in other countries? But at the same time, with those that seem to be in the front running for Democrats, I'm worried. They haven't come up with any feasible solutions either and I see none of them saying they will close the borders, keep this country's sovereignty intact, etc. Actually, one has. That is Ron Paul, whom very few people know anything about. He doesn't have the big money the others do for campaigning, but this guy is sick and tired of handing this country over to others. He is for protecting our borders to the north and south, not building a highway from Canada to Mexico with open borders (what a joke), and not changing our monies to Amero, which can be used by all 3 countries interchangeably. The Canadians are up in arms over this, but the US people seem to be out of the loop, like they don't know what's going on. I know I'm on my preaching box right now and I do hope our troops come home, but we need to have someone stand up for this country. Google Ron Paul and read his thoughts on these issus.

Anyone who has banking with Bank of America [2007-02-22]
you might want to know that the CEO of this bank has decided to let illegals have accounts here in the United States. No matter they are here illegally. I am in the process of changing banks.
