Hot mail change and no pics [2008-11-11]
My hotmail email account sometimes changes the way it looks with upgrades or whatever they are doingl. Ever since the last time, when someone sends me an email with a picture in it (not an attachment), the pictures are blank. What can I do?

not my mail [2008-04-10]
How do eliminate mail that comes to previous residents of your home? I know you can write wrong address on mail and have it returned, but what about junk mail? Will the post office accept junk mail returned this way? I do not know if the previous residents completeda change of address form or not. They have not lived at this address for many years; however, mail still comes on a daily basis. How do you get rid of all this?

too much mail [2008-04-10]
Fill out a form at the post office telling them who is to receive mail at this address, they have the forms, just explain the situatioin to them. Then you will only get mail for who you have indicated to the post office

I got that ad in the mail the other day [2008-04-05]
and threw it away. I won I was wondering how I even got on their mailing list. H said he thinks it was because he bought some perfume for me there 2 Christmases ago. Anyway, this reminded me of a conversation I had on a parenting forumI visit.A good many of us were disgusted at a Neiman Marcus ads that kept popping up. It looked as if they were hiring13 or 14-year-old girls tomodel maternity clothes for them.

I mailed my tax return in the end of February and I was wondering when the check will come by mail. [2008-03-29]
I would think they received it by the beginning of March. It was mailed in and they will be mailing the check back.

No one is arguing that Mrs. Obama said this. Someone posted that old, tired Muslim e-mail. [2008-02-19]

Yahoo e-mail [2008-01-23]
Mine has been acting up for a couple of days now. I went in the other day and all of my mail in my inbox and trash was gone! I know there were things there. I went to their answer forum and others said that yahoo is having difficulty currently, and to go back to the classic Yahoo and see if that helps until they get the problem figured out. Sort of scary if you ask me!

very well said [2008-11-16]
I totally agree. I have done this sort of thing, apologized after a long period of time. I heard back from each of the 2 people & they were grateful for it. They had not felt heard all those years ago & finally did. These were not people I was romantically involved with, so I did send an e-mail & heard back. I think your choice not to include your address was very appropriate. If the person wants to contact you, they can go to the trouble of looking you up. Nicely done.

Open Email where images are not showing up. -> see the header of mail and you will be able to see Mark as safe | Mark as Unsafe link in front of From: field. -> Just Mark the email address as Safe and you will be able to view all the images in it. HTH.

It is already from a safe contact [2008-11-12]
I can open all mail, but where pics should be (and were before hotmail changed the look) are just boxes. It isn't just from one contact, but from all my contacts that I used to receive pics from. Now what? I sent an email to the contact site, but they have not answered me yet.

Speaking of banks... [2008-11-06]
My DD opened her first checking acct a few weeks ago. She received her ATM card in the mail and, being a young woman, didn So she took the card to the bank and had it activated. After this, the PIN she selected at the bank would not work, so she took it back to have it changed. She walks into the bank, tells the woman she needs to change her PIN cause the original one doesn The kicker is...the woman at the bank DIDN'T EVEN CHECK HER ID!!! For all she knew, my DD coulda found that card and brought it in to change the PIN so she could use it!

I wrote a $10 check to Wal-Mart and turned in to a $40 mistake so far. [2008-11-05]
Here is what happened. When you write a check at this Wal-Mart here, they have you sign something and give the check back. I stuck it back in my purse. They are supposed to void. I was cleaning at my purse that day and paying bills at the same time. I wrote a $250 to pay a loan. I really don A week later, i was looking at my acct online. I notice that that $10 I had written to Wal-Mart went through twice. I called the bank and asked why. They said, oh, it looks like Wal-Mart double dipped. so I was refunded the money. I don Anyway, I became concerned about why that 250 check didn They said $10 was credit to my acct. I did not connect the 2 at the time. I thought, 10, I don The man told me he would look into it incase there was a mistake. He called back the day later and said that was a $10 originally written to Wal-Mart and we cashed it. So I called the bank and told them. They then had me go to wal-mart because they said I owed them $10 back. I go to wal-mart and they say no it is the Telecheck, company they use for this service andthey thanked me for trying to clear it up and said Telecheck will be contacting me. So I get a letter in the mail saying I owe $40 plus I am not allowed to write checks anywhere that uses their service until I pay that $40 back. Whatscares me is that that check said VOID on it and that other bunch wasstill able to cash it and get their money, which I think was dishonest of them...also my bank let it go through. Now what if I were to loosea bunch of those type checks and someone cashes itAGAIN. Man I would be out a lot.Do you think any of this is right? TIA.

That's crazy! [2008-11-05]
I would write a letter to the bank and cancel my account with them. That is wrong that they cashed a voided check. Can't fault Wal-Mart for wanting their money, but the bank should be paying that $40, not you! Not saying its right, but the other place probably doesn't look at the mail-in checks very closely but just send them through to the bank. Bottom line, the bank should have caught that.

Let's start a why do they thread! [2008-11-03]
Why do they make spice jar openings to small for a measuring spoon? Why to they pkg 8 hot dogs and then pkg 6 buns? you never catch up!Why does yellow mustard opening plug up and when you shake it, it squirts yellow oil?Why do credit card cos send blank checks through the mail, forcing you to open all of it?okay next?

OMG Yes!!!!! It's a conspiracy against short people! [2008-11-03]
I get so aggravated! And then it never fails you go looking for someone who can help you or has a ladder and no one is EVER working on the floor! At Wal-Mart, I THEN an employee appears and tells me I can I said, then you need to be out here doing you job so I don Man, being short sucks!

Any advice for lice? - sm [2008-10-30]
My kids came home with this almost 2 months ago, got rid of them (I think---all 4 of us had them and 3 of us are clean now), but 2 weeks ago my older daughter had a new outbreak.I have treated 3-4 x with Rid and Nix (Nix the second time around per doctor), olive oil, and listerine/vinegar. Called the doctor again last night begging for the prescription (they don My daugher Now the doctor wants me to try 50:50 of mineral oil and vinegar.Icould not do it lastnight as I had already had her wash her hair after I found the 2 lice (did Nix again last night).I am so sick of these things. I have washed, and washed, and washed, vacuumed, etc. until I never want to wash or vacuum another thing in my life. My kids stuffed animals, etc. have been bagged up in the garage now for 8 weeks.....never undid them luckily....so at least I had a little less to do this time. ----the other thing that tics me off is the girl next to my daugher on the bus has them too, probably from mine but who knows, and the policy is that the child has to contain their hair for a week or two until the nurse declares her clean. This girl is not pulling her hair back in a ponytail because she does not like them. I complained to the nurse once, and am doing so again today. So that probably is not going to change soI had the bus driver move my daughter today from that seat....they sit 3 to a seat and they are mashed together, hence easy transfer of a bug crawling from one head to another. My daughter was not happy about it, but this other girls mother is convince they are cured asshe put listerine on her daughter If one time fixed it then lice would notbe such a problem. I really think this lady is in LA la land considering the trouble I am having, and I have combed, and combed too, so I am not doing the half-assssseeedddd either. So does anyone have anything that they swear by? I know I could make my kid go to bed with mayo on her head for 10 days straight and that would in theory eradicate them, or any smothering agent, and it may come to that, but if anyone has anything else, please feel freeto tell!

Help. I have made my own prison. Please make suggestions sm [2008-10-24]
I will try to make this brief. I have marital problems, husband is gone all the time. I came to work at home again because I have no help with our children. I need to be here if they are sick and be here when they get home from school. But I have become once again socially isolated (I did this type of work for years and had a job outside of the home and enjoyed it, except for the fact that my children did not get enough attention, so I quit). I do have friends but I don I used to walk several miles a day but never do that anymore, have gained weight, eat junk food, stay on the computer too long. I am constantly busy. I still do volunteer work with my children - Scouts, church, etc., but I am so overwhelmed. My husband is almost never here. It almost feels more like he comes to visit us sometimes than actually lives here, but I need his help financially and my son is very afraid for me to get a divorce (long story, but he is afraid he would have to live part-time with his dad, and they are not close). I have debt that my husband doesn But he won When I tell him I need more money he tells me things like, turn off the cable TV or don The thing is he spends lots and lots of money on entertaining himself. He makes 3 x as much as I do (or maybe 4 by now). I have not been allowed to open his mail for years and we pretty much never talk. I have started to allow things to pile up, mail around my desk, weight around my middle, clutter here and there. I just feel like a big slug. I am tired much of the time. In reading this I sound depressed but I am already taking an antidepressant which I started a few years ago because of my marriage.I love my children so dearly but I am afraid of leaving and disrupting their lives. If I left I would at least get my part of the equity in ourhome, etc., and maybe have a chance at having a life again. Anyway, I know this is long and rambling and jumbled, but I just woke up, from another night of poor sleep. Please suggest what you would do. Thanks

I just went thru something similar - sm [2008-10-24]
I was the one back in late August and then back on Oct. 13 or so----I had racked up a ton of debt on his and my credit cards which he knew nothing about. I finally confessed to him, he reacted pretty well considering the bomb I dropped on him. He does not want to divorce over it thank God but some amazing miracle. Obviosly your situation is a bit more complex. My DH is not that controlling. I was/am the one to get the mail, and would decide what he would see or not see, though he had no scruples about reading my mail, he would get upset if I ever read anything personal sent to him. As I know it is nothing to get bent about I let that one go. He has never cheated and even confirmed that when I confessed my deceit and financial infidelity to him. Luckily he still loves me enough to keep it together. He is trying a little more, though he has backed off doing a few things he used to around the house, I have taken on more responsibility around here, the price I have to pay I guess. I did 85% of it before, now, 95% (he used to cook dinner....now it looks like I get the pleasure of doing it from now on as he has not done it once since the 13th. Granted any reference to buying anyting is , we cannot afford it....which we can, but yes things are going to be a bit tight for the next five years, but we will manage. I have not done it yet, but Monday going to get the wheels rolling and do CCCS for my debts. His will be taken care of soon as we are selling off a bunch of mutual funds from the 401K (loan) so no penalties though with the economy we will have to sell more than we would have a few months ago which stinks. ---He is willing to economize now that he knows there is an issue though (he makes about 4x what I do). You will have to bit the bullet and confess as well. It is not easy. I wrote him a note and then left the house for a short while, then came back and we talked it all out. I figured my marriage would be over, but I think for the kids and still some feelings for me he wants to keep it all together. We have a good life together for the most part and he knows that. We do things together as a family, still have enjoyable sex once a week (took him 9 days after my confession), and are in tune with each other and the kids. Considering it he has been so good after it , you never know your husband might surprise you like mine did. He has not really made any comments for a week now, which is amazing in itself. My DH generally is the type of guy who blames everyone else for his mistakes and takes no responsibility for anything, so that is why it was such a shock that he is handling this all so well. Generally he acts like a 3-y/o and holds grudges. So it is possible your husband can be a standup guy. I guess it will depend on how much he cares for you, keeping the marriage together and not becoming a part-time dad or having to give you the house or a ton of money.....I am sure that all factored in in my situation. All I said was that no one would win in a divorce. He has been divorced before so I know he does not wnat to go thru that again, sees it as personal failure. But I feel so much better for telling him, a huge weight has been lifted. I still have a lot to get thru but the worst is over. I know my streess is still up there some, but I know longer have to worry about him finding out, etc. So you need to formulate a plan, maybe set aside some ready cash, and and tell him what is going on. You can email me if you want. I hope it all works out for you.

What I would suggest - sm [2008-10-23]
I would send out either via e-mail or regular mail a little dinner invite and state specifically no presents on it. If people want to show up with presents anyway that is up to them, but you have stated your preference. I actually LOVE this idea!! Best wishes...

my list is ongoing and never ending! [2008-10-10]
It seems I spend all my time working (and playing a bit around here on the internet) but I actually just cleaned out my closet and took my clothes to the Salvation army and felt very good about it. Organizing has NEVER been my thing and i wish so much that it was. I have loads and loads of paperwork to sort out, file, etc. I try every day to go through my mail (you wouldnsave to shred).. I need to send some baby gifts off to my baby sister -my niece is now 7 weeks old!! - i have attached a pic because she is the new love of my life and i like to show her off whenever possible :) I would like to organize my desk, clean my kitchen, get my carpets cleaned. Rearrange my room (maybe it's my life i want to rearrange?!) Oh it goes on and on and on!!! have a GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!!! This is Allyson Ayn! (she is in North Carolina, I am in Nevada)... A lot of the things I want to get done revolve around me being able to go see her for the second time ever soooo wish me luck on my tasks ahead! xoxo

Their friends all have the real American Dolls and they have read the books so they want the American Girl Dolls that are in the books from the library and catalogs we get in the mail. They have seen the movies too and loved Kit Kittridge and her friend Ruthie so had their eye on them. Very, very expensive toys but they take good care of their things so I hope I can pick somethings up second-hand. Thank you for all for all of your help.

You could check Craigslist [2008-10-05]
I suppose. You'd choose your local area. You could even make a post that you are interested in buying AG products. You'd be able to set up a special private e-mail address rather than giving somebody your actual e-mail, yet it still comes to your e-mail box. I don't get how it works, but it wasn't hard to use.

Yes [2008-10-02]
I cared for my mom who was very ill before she passed. My dad would take care of her as much as he could, but he was limited due to RA. My husband stepped in and took care of a lot of the chores around the house so I was free to help my mom. It is very, very tiring experience but when she passed I knew that I had done all I could to help her. Luckily, at the time I was an IC and was flexible. Now, I am taking care of my dad. He has macular degeneration and has to get injections into his eye every other month. He can do most of his doings, but I help him out. I prayed a lot for the strength to help take care of my mom and I do now with my dad. Good luck. If you need to talk I'm here, just e-mail me.

SAFE HAVEN LAW [2008-09-21]
Wow, this just blows me away. Last year or early this year a mother aged 17 or 18 gave birth to her 2nd child without parents or anyone for that matter knowing she was pregnant. She walked into an Omaha Hospital and left her child in a restroom and walked out. Please note at that time Nebraska was the ONLY state which did not have a safe haven law on the books. It was pushed through shortly after and is now a law FINALLY. Which is good because now mothers, who do not want to or cannot take care of their children have a safe place to take them without being in trouble for doing so. Well, to myunderstanding this law (NE only), does not have an age limit as to how old the chid can be when dropped off at the hospital. Other states have it cut off at 14 but none have ever seen a child OVER 3. This information came from a radio show about the new law yesterday. Since the law was put in place a mother dropped off an 11 year old, a different family dropped off a 9 year old and this mornings news has the following IBSYS.ad.AdManager.registerPosition({ iframe: false, addlSz: , element: ad_N700074.5756, interstitials: false, beginDate: , endDate: , getSect: yes, name: smallbrick1, qString: , width: 250, height: 80, section: , useId: 17521112, interactive: false, useSameCategory: false, topic: , swSectionRoot: , useZone: , type: DOM }); if (navigator.vendor && navigator.vendor.indexOf('Apple') == -1) { document.getElementById(none; } function ezConfirm() { if (emailCheck()) { document.getElementById(none; document.getElementById('sideSignupLabel').innerHTML = Thank you. + document.getElementById('signUpEmailInput').value + is now registered for breaking news alerts and daily headline e-mails at 12 noon. ; document.getElementById('browseAllEmail').innerHTML = Manage e-mail subscriptions; if (window.ActiveXObject) { document.getElementById(relative; document.getElementById(-5px; } return true; } else { return false; } } E-Mail News Alerts Get breaking news and daily headlines. A representative from the state Department of Health and Human Services said the girl, 13, was left at Immanuel Hospital around midday. No other details were released. The girl was the third child dropped off at Nebraska hospitals in the past week. IBSYS.ad.AdManager.registerPosition({ iframe: false, addlSz: , element: ad_N700074.5ECB, interstitials: false, beginDate: , endDate: , getSect: , name: square, qString: , width: 300, height: 250, section: , useId: 17521112, interactive: false, useSameCategory: false, topic: , swSectionRoot: , useZone: , type: DOM }); The state's safe haven law took effect in July and allows parents to abandon children at hospitals and other locations. The law does not set a minimum age after which a child can't be left without prosecution. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I agree with the law all the way. I am just concerned about the after shock of having an older child dropped off at the ages stated above, what kind of damage is that doing to the child? I do not agree with child abuse and know that older children are abused all the time but is there not another way we could deal with this? Just wondering what everyone else was thinking.

No ideas but I like to [2008-09-19]
and when I hear about a nice place to visit I go online to try to find their city website or visitor's and convention bureau. Many of these will allow you to get on a mail list and send you tons of free info, brochures, MAPS, and COUPONS! I have family that lived in FL, but just moved back, and I had been collecting a lot of info for those areas in hopes of planning a trip to see them next spring so I know there is a ton of info for Florida. You just have to do some research and visit a lot of websites and give yourself time to get the info in the mail. Even did it for my local surrounding areas where I live and was amazed at what I found. Oh, and if you do think of camping go to the coleman website and those for other camping gear and many times they have checklists and such that you can download. Makes live MUCH easier, especially for first timers.

I realize you just can't back off now. [2008-09-19]
Carefree proud isn't how I would describe feeling about that. I've done plenty of therapy in my life, thanks, but it was unrelated to the above issue. If you stop attacking me publicly now, you will just lose too much face, so go ahead, take your best shot. After this last post I wondered: What would make this person satisfied? That I be bent & suffering with remorse & guilt? Would you feel better then? Sorry, but it just doesn't work that way. I simply feel okay about my past, so I can't help you there. I suppose there is nothing I can do to make you feel better. I think you should work on feeling more forgiving of yourself for decisions you've made in your past, & then you will not feel the need to attack others for the mistakes you yourself have made. I hope this gives you more than just a giggle, & rather than pollute the board with any more of your mouthings, I'd rather have you contact me directly at my e-mail address if you really think there is more you need to get off your chest. But I doubt you will do this because of the element of performance there is to your posts, & I doubt it will help because I would just be a substitute for you. At any rate, you are welcome to e-mail me.

My husband I have, many times. Gas gouging, oil, immigration, Iraq. sm [2008-09-17]
he calls about anything he feels they should know about. You would be amazed at how easily you can get through to talk to them. If they are not there, their aide will take a message and you either get a phone call back or a letter. In Michigan we have Carl Levin, Debby Stabenow, and Vern Ehlers. Their aides and my husband are on a first name basis. Literally. The aides are the front line of the reps and sens etc. They DO make note and you DO get a letter in the mail about your phone call. It doesn't really change anything, but at least the elected officials are aware of what the temprament of the voting public is.

Yes... me too [2008-09-16]
I was a freshman in college and had mine on 12/08/80. My mom, good Catholic that she is, pretty much pressured me into it and drove me to the clinic 3 hours away and home again. I remember laying in bed at home that night, and hearing them come on the TV in mom and dad's room next to mine saying that John Lennon had been shot and died. The two events are now forever intertwined, and there are times when I'll listen to some of those songs, especially from that Double Fantasy album that he had out then, and I physically feel that day again. Well, so you can see, yes, it affected me and I'm left with a lot of regret about it. Three years later, I was pregnant again by the same boyfriend, and our daughter was born in 06/84. We got married, are still married, and had two more kids in 8/87 and 8/00. I regret that choice every single day. It was such an unnecessary, stupid thing to do, and I do have a lot of guilt over it. I am against abortion now, and in fact my son, age 21, brought up the topic this morning, saying he found out that a friend of his had had one. We talked a little about the candidates and their stances on the topic, and then since he's had the same girlfriend for over 3 years now (she's younger than him) I just told him if anything happened with her to know that they didn't have to think about going that route, and we just had a conversation on it. The two older kids don't know about my experience before them. Incidentally, I was adopted and sought out my birth mom several years ago. We had an e-mail only relationship because her husband didn't approve of her being in touch with me, and I was fine keeping it at that. Unfortunately, she died before we ever actually spoke. A good friend of hers knew about me and called me the day she died. I was shocked as I didn't know she was even ill (multiple myeloma and MS). I guess she didn't want me to know, didn't want it to be the focus of our relationship. I sure never felt like I stalked her, and I since met one of my half-sisters who said it brought her mom a lot of joy having me contact her.
