Subject: help with suture type...I think I don't normally type ortho, so need the help of my fellow MTs. The patient cut his 2 left fingers on a table saw.
This is what he says.....the 4-0 nylon was used in a modified S/L al guard de knotti suture to close all but the nailbed portion.

Subject: CPM both instances What does CPM mean in both instances? I believe the 1st para is correct, unsure of the second though. tia.
I do not think we need to remove the suture at this time, but instead I would have her return in about 10 days for the suture removal. She is to continue on the **continuous passive motion** until that time. (or would it be continue present management?)
Also....She has been unable to get TED hose on so she has had pretty dramatic swelling in her lower extremity. The **CPM** that was ordered postoperative has not been used very much in her rehab hospital.

Question about meniscal repairs [2009-03-19]
Subject: Question about meniscal repairs We discussed treatment options, which could include primary inside repair versus s/l end out suture technique, which would require direct visualization of the peroneal nerve.
