I must admit, this is the third night of not taking the Benadryl -SM

Posted By: Curious on 2008-01-28

and my hair is already starting to feel better! It is not completely back to it's normal thickness and fullness, but it definitely feels a lot better than it did while taking the Benadryl daily! It doesn't feel nearly as thin and weak. It must have been the Benadryl all along! My hair feels so much better today!

Ok ADMIT it....you cleaned this up before taking the pic!!
hahahhahahah. Dud!!
Anyone ever exerpience hair thinning/breakage with taking Benadryl daily
I have been taking one store brand Benadryl-type tablet every night before bed to help me with my allergies and to help me sleep for the past few of months. Ever since I started taking it, I have noticed that my hair is thinning and breaking very easily and is just very weak. I usually have very, very thick and full hair, but not anymore since taking it. In fact, my hair is usually so thick and heavy that I always had to go and get it thinned once a month because it made my head so hot! I stopped taking the antihistamine last night because I finally realized that may be what is causing my problem. Anyone else heard of this or had it happen?
Take OTC Estroven daily and Benadryl 25-50 mg each night
Works like a charm for me - plus the Benadryl helps with my allergies and my migraines. I hit meno early (early 40s) and it sucks! Can't sleep, wicked hot flashes, restless leg, weight gain, yadda yadda... but since i've been on Estroven Plus (actually, Eckerd Drug's generic, called Estroplus) taking it daily for about a month, the symptoms are SOOOOO much better!!
Also they'll be taking up the WHOLE bed at night!

Ended up taking her to stat care last night...not hand foot and mouth. sm
Ended up that she had an allergic reaction to a Chestnut tree that she had been playing on!!! She had a few on her toes because she had been wearing sandles and was climbing on a fallen tree. She was picking the leaves and "seeds" and picking them open. The oil from the tree gave her a reaction and caused the blisters to form. Thanks for asking...and thanks to all who answered my first post!
DH uses Benadryl s/m
He was also on Effexor for quite a while, but lost our insurance and that went with it.  If he is going to be in public, he will take a Benadryl, uses it sort of like Xanax.  Sorry, but I don't have a child with it or least hope that my two youngest don't develop it like their dad.  Good luck.
Benadryl does the trick for me and
also if you have an itch, hey, it takes care of both. I absolutely cannot take it while working as it kicks in the sleepiness.
Tylenol PM is TY with benadryl. That is that sm
melatonin is something completely different. It raises the serotonin level, the sleep level. Too much of it knocks me out. Nightmares, hangover the next day.
Benadryl cream
Apply to your earlobes front and back, put in the earrings and don't touch the rest of the day! Really works, even if you have to wear the nickel earrings from time to time.
Valerian root/Benadryl
Valerian root helps, and I have also used Benadryl. Those are the only two things I know of without a rx. Best wishes - I know how bad it can be!
NyQuil or Benadryl work for me on occasion. nm

Maybe as soon as you wake up, you can take some Benadryl (or generic), that helps me. nm
x
Save your money - just buy generic Benadryl (same ingredient) unless you have pain.
nm
Admit it now!
You're your own best friend, aren't you!?! ROFL!
Try Benadryl, the generic is cheap. Works great, not habit-forming. NM
x
Admit it...pretty!

I know. .. I gotta admit It got the best of me and I HAD to SM

post that. The DEVIL made me do it!!!   LOL!  Thanks for appreciating my humor!

This is silly to admit, but...
I'm hooked on Guitar Hero III! My husband kept telling me wanted to buy so we could try and I kept resisting. Well, it went on sale at K-Mart, so I gave in, and to my dismay...I'm hooked. I just turned 36 and I'm playing that darned game like I was a kid. My husband loves it and so does my daughter. Strange family activity, but hey, it works.
Hate to admit this
Depending on how much of a "snoop" you mean, I would be peeking in the medicine cabinet. I wouldn't go through desk drawers, filing cabinets, or dressers or anything like that, but I would, MIL or mother, have to peak in the medicine cabinet. I don't care about any of the other stuff, but there is something about that one mirrored closed door that makes me feel compelled to look.
Well, hate to admit but 2 things
I have a ring of something sticky (I had some good smelly stuff that left a ring) and then the smelly stuff spilled over and caused the paper to stick to the top of the entry table. I have been a messy person here lately.
Okay I admit it, I'm a resume dunce
I live in a small town and most of the jobs I have gotten have been because someone knew someone else and knew I was job hunting.  The phone rang, I started working and even filling out an application was an after thought.  Even with my MT job, the recruiter called me on recommendation from my instructor after I graduated.  So, here's my question....what exactly goes in a cover letter?  I'm guessing it highlights what is in my resume and goes into more detail, but not sure.  TIA!
what did I miss - have to admit I felt
the whole season was a little boring and they have drawn out everything so long I watch another show in between actual dances- but last I heard they had put the engagement off until after the show - is there other news?
I must admit that I resorted to bribery...
with my youngest son, and it worked like a charm!  He also would go #1 but not #2 for the longest time.  First, I tried bribing/rewarding with stickers.  Then I went all out and gave him a matchbox car every time he pooed in the potty!  It was a bit expensive at first, but so were the diapers!  I think it took a couple of weeks to a month.  I also made a big deal every time he went and got very excited, and I think my excitement was contagious and made him want to do it more because it made him feel good about himself.  I guess different things work for every child (my oldest son was no problem and potty trained super fast), but that's what worked for me with my stubborn little one.
ok, i have to admit, i lied in one of my posts down there
i didn't actually get pregnant with my third child so i could quit nursing school. it just worked out that way. i was actually in my last semester of school and my first trimester of the pregnancy. it wasn't going so good, so i had to quit. however, this having to quit school actually worked out in my favor. since i never finished, i didn't have to take the registered nurse exam, which i would have never passed because i really am a just not smart enough for that. The real reason i got pregnant is that i knew my sister-in-law was going to try to get pregnant with her second child in a certain month and certain year, so i decided to do the same. See, i am so whacked out that i wouldn't have been able to handle her getting all the attention. Even though it was my the 3rd child for me and i really didn't want to have anymore children, i had to do it. I just couldn't handle her being pregnant again any other way. Plus, I figured, besides if she didn't get pregnant and I did, then i could make her jealous because I would be having a baby in the month and year that she wanted to, because I am so jealous of her. She is smart & i'm not. She graduated from college, I am a college dropout. I'm shaped like a whale & she's not. Everyone thinks i'm bitchy but not her. So we both got pregnant that month and had our babies in the same month 9 months later. Also, I just wanted to add that I am married to a total moron. He is such a dork. I got him cause no one else wanted him.
Gotta admit -- I was a little worried

Not because I doubted their abilities, but because it seemed like in the first rotation or 2, they were showing some serious bias to the Chinese.  Shawn Johnson's balance beam was way better than Ying Yilan's and yet her score was ranked higher (not talking about the difficulty value, just the execution score) Even the commentators last night were talking about it.  Nastia's uneven bars got a lower score than it deserved as well.  I'm glad to see the judges got their heads out of their you-know-whats for the last 2 rotations and gave these girls the scores they deserved.

I do feel somewhat bad for the Chinese girl, though.  I hope she doesn't lose a few fingers or toes over this.  Of course as young as she is, I'm sure she'd recover quickly.     That's something else that seemed strange to me, the American girls seemed very emotional and yet the Chinese - nothing (at least not last nice).  Could that be because our girls have a few more hormones running through them, like any normal 16-year-old would? Hmmmm

I hate to admit this, but Eminem, sm
his lyrics can be pretty heartbreaking. My daughter and I both sneak listening to him when hubby isn't around.
Loooool...that was a good comeback, I must admit

OK, I must admit your dog is cute, but I'm still afraid of pitbulls.
NM
Music groups you are too embarrased to admit you like
Anyone out there love a musical group (or person) but are too embarrassed to admit it. You know, the kind that your friends make fun of but you secretly say to yourself, I love that music. - Mine are:

Village People
Glen Campbell (Wichita Lineman) - Excellent video on youtube
Bay City Rollers
And most all disco music (Bee Gees, Super Freak Rick James, Taste of Honey, KC Sunshine Band)

I must admit I started to type "Yawn" but really didn't
!
Admit it that YOU put yuor nephew's and your SIL's inheritance share into your POCKET.
It is me who 'got it' very clearly.
And Thursday night is safer than Friday night - how?
We used to live in a town that was once in the Guiness Book of World Records for number of churches per capita (which by the way was the worst place I've ever lived - discourteous, Nazi schools, etc.), and they wouldn't let us trick or treat on Sundays. Ridiculous! People can say what they want but celebrating Halloween doesn't make you a devil worshiper! Just my 2 cents!
I had the same thing the night before...last night though (sm)
made teriyaki chicken and macaroni and cheese from a box. Tonight is chicken and rice. Tomorrow night is leftover teriyaki chicken :-)
Actually, no, I am not taking it now
Just heard back on the market in a new name and thought would tell what I experienced from trying it the first time. Hear only have 15% fat and after that it is throne time- if you can make it there.
anyone taking Yaz ........... sm

anyone taking Yas specifically to treat PMS symptoms???  my doctor gave me three months' worth of Yaz to see if it helps my symptoms.  i haven't taken the pill in ages.  when i used to take it, i got really bad migraines.  i've been doing a little research, and found that people have side effects like nausea, anxiety, weight gain.  i know side effects differ from person to person, but wondering what your experience was.  i'm not a big pill taker.

thanks

Try taking

vitamin C 500 mg with the iron, it is supposed to help with the iron absorption and help with constipation and nausea as well.

On top of being anemic, I also have psoriasis, so I have my hair falling out (including pubic, lol) and constantly looks like I have extremely dry skin on my face, ears and scalp.

i'm taking it now.
But only for a month so far. I have high cholesterol but way worse triglycerides. I've had no side effects that i can contribute to it definitively; some muscle pain that i'm concerned about, but it could be a recent back injury worsening too...

what i DON'T like is that it is a statin. I understand that statins work really well to achieve the goal usually, but they also have bad side effects, including rhabdomyolysis. I've read a lot too on this class of drugs, and really didn't want to take them again, but for me, i'm at high risk for stroke or heart attack if i can't get my numbers down, so it is the lesser of evils i guess.

My educated opinion is this: if your cholesterol is NOT that high, and overall risk factors are not a real concern, i'd stay away from the drugs, statins in particular. If you do however take a statin, be sure to take the CoQ-10, which helps protect against the cell damage and effects of the statins. High cholesterol alone, in more recent studies, is not that indicative of a future problem. Lack of exercise and high-fat diets put one more at risk than cholesterol elevation. Like i said, without real necessity, i would not take a statin.
You are obviously set on taking
It's really sad...obviously you are not doing that bad, after all your child has a Wii...sounds very selfish to me, but hey...that's just me! Merry Christmas
I do not think that taking out ALL of the...
money from the joint accounts and putting it in one in only her name, as advised above, is acting defensively. You are entitled to your opinion and I to mine, but keep in mind that your children see how you act. That is all I am saying.
taking away
We had my son take verything out of his room, every nail out of the wall, put all his belongings in the garage, paint his room (which looked terrible by the way), and sleep on the floor until he surrendered his stubborness (about three nights on the floor). Then he had to put his room back together again.

This did not cure him, but it let him know that we were more stubborn than he was..
Good luck!
Try taking away something she likes!
I know it sounds harsh, but if you take away something she likes and not give her that until she finally is a "big girl", then she may want to go potty.  The other thing, I know how gross this is, but include her in your "potty time", and she may realize "Wow, Mom is a big girl, and I want to be like Mom!  It is a tough call, but my daughter went through the same thing.  I always got the "I'm too busy!"  So, I began asking her all of the time, and finally she went because she didn't want me to ask her especially in front of her brother.  She was about 4 1/2!  Good luck!
Anyone taking Pamelor?
Doctor started me on one 10 mg a night for sleep but last night woke up at 5 in the morning due to some pain I am having. She said I could go to 2 a night but my question to you is do I have to work the dosage up or do you think the 20 is too much for a second night of taking? Thanks.
I said never again for taking in animal because
right after I had surgery, a Springer Spaniel came to my door. Loving animals I took him in, put flyers out in the neighborhood trying to find owner, called the pound to see if anyone declared missing, put ad in the paper under found animals, nothing-all the calls I got wanted him, did not lose him. I interviewed and hoped I chose the best- he was high energy and me low. It breaks my heart to see strays, feel so sorry and carry dog food in the back of my vehicle to feed in case I come across 1-I have before.
No. Just the motorcade taking
her to jail was driving by a circus that was set up by the side of the road. It was a pretty funny site and Shep was having a field day.
I don't like taking pills either, but
it will be 3 years in Novemeber that I lost my mother suddenly. Within 2 weeks I had to take my daughter to the doctor (family practice with my mother's doc there) and he talked to me at length and suggested antidepressants to at least help get through the holidays. They truely did seem to make a difference. By March I stopped taking them. It does get easier as times goes by but the pain and the missing will always be there. I had such a strong support system with family and friends that I didn't feel the need for grief counseling but a friend of mine met one on one and in a group setting to help with her grief and it truely helped her. Praying for you.
Yep...taking something for that which helps a lot though (sm)
Trouble sleeping, etc. Mostly get a restless feeling during the day...bored, want to do something different, need to think about multiple things at once. Want to hear the TV and work and still daydreaming about other things at the same time!
OMG! I have been taking an "inventory" of my
DVDs and another funny movie I haven't watched in awhile is Airheads with Adam Sandler, Steve Buscemi, Brendan Fraser, and Chris Farley.

At least she's taking responsibility for it...

It's not the ideal situation, but I was having sex when I was 16, so I'm not going to judge her.  It could have happened to me.  Sadly, she will probably be a much better mom than her older sister!  My dog would probably be a better mom than Britney though, so that's not saying much.

I was not married when I had either of my children, and people judged me but oh well.  I am an excellent mother and a marriage certificate would not have made me a better mom.  I have been married for awhile now, but we waited over 4 years to get married, and that is our choice.  Gone are the days when people rushed off to get married because they were pregnant.  Sex before marriage has been around since the beginning of time.  We are just becoming more accepting of it now and don't demand people get married when they get pregnant.  I am personally glad our children will know we didn't get married because we "had to" but because we loved each other so much that we wanted to.

taking a guess...
Witches of Eastwick?
(has a Nicholson-type of sarcasm)

Not taking up for her, but apparently being
mentally challenged, to her it was like when you see someone you know and popping them on the shoulder to say hi. Granted, she actually hit instead of a pop, but take into consideration her mental condition. She was not meaning to hurt you and I am glad it was only a bruise and nothing more serious. Hopefully, mgmt knew her and her family and will get in touch with them.
Anyone taking Wellbutrin?
I've been on Prozac for a while now but don't like the side effects. Does anyone have any experience with Wellbutrin, good or bad?
