Save your money - just buy generic Benadryl (same ingredient) unless you have pain.
nm
Try Benadryl, the generic is cheap. Works great, not habit-forming. NM

DH uses Benadryl s/m
He was also on Effexor for quite a while, but lost our insurance and that went with it.  If he is going to be in public, he will take a Benadryl, uses it sort of like Xanax.  Sorry, but I don't have a child with it or least hope that my two youngest don't develop it like their dad.  Good luck.
Benadryl does the trick for me and
also if you have an itch, hey, it takes care of both. I absolutely cannot take it while working as it kicks in the sleepiness.
Tylenol PM is TY with benadryl. That is that sm
melatonin is something completely different. It raises the serotonin level, the sleep level. Too much of it knocks me out. Nightmares, hangover the next day.
Benadryl cream
Apply to your earlobes front and back, put in the earrings and don't touch the rest of the day! Really works, even if you have to wear the nickel earrings from time to time.
Valerian root/Benadryl
Valerian root helps, and I have also used Benadryl. Those are the only two things I know of without a rx. Best wishes - I know how bad it can be!
buy generic
I buy generic. Will try anything once and if it is too nasty, not use it again. I now buy generic laundry soap (who can afford to pay $12 for a bottle of Tide or Cheer?), generic soups for cooking. I have found some things actually taste better than name brand. I used to only buy ground sirloin for hamburgers...that has stopped.

My only advice...do not buy generic toilet paper. It is useless!!
I always buy generic.

I oftentimes laugh when I am shopping at my local store as I know when a meal or baking is done what the problem could be in doing this as doubt anyone can tell or if there is a difference that I made this with generic eggs for say 1.29 a dozen rather than those fancy eggs with a little stick-on at about twice as much.  Doubt it.

Find a local closest to home discount grocery.

Stock up on staples and store them appropriately.  If you bake, store brown sugar with a piece of bread in it to keep it soft, replace it if you need to.  Lots of items can be stored in freezer bags of the appropriate size, spaghetti, macaroni, etc.  Better than the bag it comes in.  Get those generic too.

I buy all my paper items in bulk - much cheaper to buy a 12-roll of TP on sle definitely than not.  Just make sure its not single-ply!!

NyQuil or Benadryl work for me on occasion. nm

Take OTC Estroven daily and Benadryl 25-50 mg each night
Works like a charm for me - plus the Benadryl helps with my allergies and my migraines. I hit meno early (early 40s) and it sucks! Can't sleep, wicked hot flashes, restless leg, weight gain, yadda yadda... but since i've been on Estroven Plus (actually, Eckerd Drug's generic, called Estroplus) taking it daily for about a month, the symptoms are SOOOOO much better!!
I must admit, this is the third night of not taking the Benadryl -SM
and my hair is already starting to feel better! It is not completely back to it's normal thickness and fullness, but it definitely feels a lot better than it did while taking the Benadryl daily! It doesn't feel nearly as thin and weak. It must have been the Benadryl all along! My hair feels so much better today!
I was also on clonazepam (generic) and
I was on it for nearly 10 years. Initially it was given to stop muscle cramps and spasms from my kidney disease. I was only on 0.5 mg a day for all those years. I stopped taking it cold turkey not knowing it was a drug you could become addicted to. I experienced agitation, neuropathy, hypersensitivity and it lasted roughly a week and a half. It was bad! When I next talked to my Doctor, he about freaked. He told me that drug is NEVER cold-turkeyed, but one must wean from it, because quitting it could cause seizures and other side effects up to and including death. I'm glad I'm off it though.

Just be aware that no matter how small the dose, when you stop it, WEAN!
A Little Sexy which is the generic for Red
Whenever I wear it I get complements too.
Second-hand and generic items
I am shopping for second-hand items at resale shops and buying only sale and generic items at the grocery store. I don't drive as much or as far as I used to to shop. I am working more hours, although for less pay as an MT.

I think the the crooks (politicians) who put the American public in this position should be prosecuted.
Zyrtec...generic..is good, sm

I also use Benadryl severe allergy and sinus (if you get the one w/o the sinus part listed it doesn't do much).  Try saline nasal spray too, but don't use something like Afrin for more than 3 days in a row 'cuz your nose can get hooked on it.

I had sinus surgery about 10 years ago and my sinuses are even worse now.  They're somewhat better now since I'm away from the humidity of FL, but still horrible.  I also use Nasonex RX 'cuz that's the only one w/o a nasty aftertaste.

Generic Zyrtec is good.
Take it at night cause it'll make you sleepy.
I just thought of a great generic gift
for secret Santas and/or acquaintences. It's not very personal... My daughter asked me what I wanted for Christmas and there's really nothing I want besides winning the lotto, so I thought of the last thing I wanted to buy at the store, but didn't because I'd already reached my budget... okay this is very not sexy lol... I'm slowly replacing all my regular light bulbs with the those new energy-efficient fancy expensive things,  So I told her to buy me a couple.  An inexpensive, useful gift, that sends a Green message!  Being a messenger of Green, I thought I might pass the suggestion to all of ya'll who need an impersonal but useful gift for someone.  hoho ;-)
read somewhere generic is not as effective as brand name

Wake up! Obey? What is she a dog?
Grrrrr
Wake up and do yourself a favor....
dump him and move on! There seem to be no redeeming qualities about him. You are either head over heels in love, afraid to leave or blind. You CAN do better, you have to want it and not allow yourself to be treated as a non-entity.
Did you ever just wake up and be done with the drama?
I am 40 years old and have always tried to make everyone happy but lately I have had the attitude that I am not everyone's mother and it is not my job to make everyone happy.  I  have friends that I have cared dearly for and tried to help and they just will not step up to the plate and stop the drama.  I am tired of the drama and I feel like I just am not putting up with another minute of it.  I know some feelings will be hurt in the process but I work hard to keep my own life stable and I am tired of getting sucked into other people's dramas.  My resolution is that I am not being anyone else's mommy unless they are actually a child!!
lol. Made me think of wake-up sex.

Sometimes when trying to wake up you get "stuck" between (sm)
being awake and a sleep for a few seconds and your brain is aware of waking up but you are not yet fully awake and you feel paralyzed. I am sorry for your fears and concerns, and in my 20s I thought similar things and was afraid a lot. But honestly, why would aliens want to pinch your butt? It is just an altered state of consciousness you are in. I am not completely against the idea that there could be some spirit involvement, but I honestly don't think aliens want to hold you down and pinch your butt :-). I think you should look up sleep paralysis and if you are still afraid, listen to the woman who gave you the spiritual advice below.

Wake Up Call lyrics

http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/m/maroon_5/wake_up_call.html
It's time to wake the old boy up
It's time to wake the old boy up. Go out of your way to make his evening special, when he wakes up to what he forgot. Give him a little grace and tell him he can make it up this weekend when he takes you out for dinner and what ever YOU want.
Forgive him and spank him at the same time :) He will LOVE you for it.

Anyone ever exerpience hair thinning/breakage with taking Benadryl daily
I have been taking one store brand Benadryl-type tablet every night before bed to help me with my allergies and to help me sleep for the past few of months. Ever since I started taking it, I have noticed that my hair is thinning and breaking very easily and is just very weak. I usually have very, very thick and full hair, but not anymore since taking it. In fact, my hair is usually so thick and heavy that I always had to go and get it thinned once a month because it made my head so hot! I stopped taking the antihistamine last night because I finally realized that may be what is causing my problem. Anyone else heard of this or had it happen?
I just paid $4.50 for a gallon of generic brand in Wyoming, nm

Kids: Do you wake them up or do they get themselves up for school? sm

I've told our 16-year-old now junior in high school that she can set her alarm clock and get herself up in the morning and out the door for school, on time, this year, and if she fails to get up on time and is late for school she will lose privileges with them increasing for each time she is late.

What about your kids?  How old are they?  Are they responsible for getting themselves up in the morning and if so, at what age did they start doing this?

My wake-up call came a few years ago

I, too, live in a very rural area -- farming community just like yours.  My husband was working late that night and I was home alone with the kids.  My road isn't quite a dead end, but it doesn't get traveled often since it turns into a dirt lane and there's no winter maintenance on it.  I never really heard much traffic that night.  I did hear a few gunshots, but just figured it was my goofy neighbor shooting target practice.  He does that all the time.  The next morning as I pulled onto the main road (about 2 miles from my house), I noticed an ambulance heading in.  No sirens or lights.  I thought it was rather odd since there's no firehouse on that road.  I went to work that day and thought nothing of it.

I came home from work that night and noticed a state police car coming out of my road, but didn't pay it much attention.  When I got home, my answering machine was lit up like the 4th of July.  My phone was ringing as I walked in.  Everyone wanted to know what was going on on my lane.  I had no clue but didn't have time to ask any questions b/c someone was knocking on my door.  I hung up the phone and answered the door to a state trooper wanting to ask me some questions.

He wanted to know if I noticed anything unusual last night.  I said no.  Any traffic?  Not more than usual.  Any loud noises?  Just my neighbor shooting his guns.  What time was that?  About 9:30 or 10:00.  That's where the story gets interesting.

Apparently 2 vehicles met at the top of my lane for a drug deal that went seriously wrong.  The one couple shot the other couple and left them for dead.  They then proceeded back down my lane and up the road about a mile where the girl stopped at my friend's house to use the phone.  Not knowing her, they didn't let her in but brought the phone outside for them to use.  After using the phone, they sped off down the road.  The next morning, some hunters found the dead couple and called 911.

This all happened just 2 days after Christmas.  Needless to say, I lost my sitter for New Year's that year.  I agree about locking your doors, but more than anything I believe your dogs saved your life.  I'm not an animal lover, but I sure do love my dog.  She barks anytime someone comes on our property.  She's not mean (a retriever/lab mix) but she is very alert.  She's the best security system out there.

You'll wake up one morning....
skinny, wrinkled and old and think "where did the time go"? I thought the same when I was young and here I am! LOL
next time you wake up, tell him you stuck
a pickle up his while he was sleeping and he should go get it removed.
I always thought Destiny's Child was generic, girl singers.

Do you wake up early in the AM with the beginning of pain? (sm)
My migraines were often caused by a sinus headache run amok. I would wake up early, like 4:00 AM, with a tiny little sinus headache. If I was too lazy to get up and take something for it, (decongestant with pseudoephedrine in it) and 2 aspirin, I'd wake up with an out-of-control headache at 8:00 AM that would no longer respond to anything. That in turn would usually trigger a migraine. For me anyway, the secret to preventing the migraine was getting that sinus headache under control. The best combination (for me) was 2 regular-strength Sudafed and 2 extra-strength Excedrin (or Excedrin Migraine) taken immediately upon feeling even the slightest twinge in the early morning. Then I'd go back to sleep, ND 9 times out of 10, I'd wake up headache-free.

For out-of-control migraines, (or when I was out of Imitrex), I had good results with lying down & placing an ice bag directly on the exact spot where the pain was on the top right side of my head, and PUSHING ON IT. Once the proper dilated vein or artery was getting chilled, I would feel relief, but ONLY if I remained absolutely motionless, and KEPT ON PUSHING. Under the best circumstances, I could sometimes abort the migraine in an hour or two. At at the very worst, at least it made it easier to endure.

Sometimes sucking on a popsicle helps, too! (But probably not a good idea for the sinusitis!) ;D

With a recent sinus INFECTION, I got good, though not long-lasting, pain relief with Excedrin Sinus Headache, which has no aspirin in it.

Have you tried changing brands (or permanancy) of hair colors? Maybe you're allergic to the fumes, if it's not causing your skin to break out.

Interesting Note: I refer to my migraines in the past tense because in the past 6-8 years they've gradually disappeared, and are now rare, and considerably milder. Menopause may have played a role, but about the same time the headaches began to disappear, I had been diagnosed with depression and begun taking an SSRI. SSRIs have recently been found to reduce or eliminate menopausal symptoms, and I believe it, as I never had any symptoms at all - not even a single hot flash. I notice while transcribing (especially Neurology...) that lots of people who have depression also have migraines. Coincidence? I'm starting to think not. My depressive episodes almost always coincided with a migraine, and it was impossible to tell which one might have caused the other. SO --- if SSRIs can cure hot flashes, I wonder if they might also be helping with the migraines, which are also a result of dilated blood vessel(s)??? Food for thought. Might be worth asking a neurologist about.

As for migraine PREVENTION, I learned a lot from a doctor I used to have who GOT migraines. (BIG difference between that type of doc, and one who DOESN'T get them!) He told me to avoid:
1. Strobe lights or strobing fluorescent lights.*
2. Sleeping in late on weekends if I normally get up early on weekdays.
3. Skipping meals.
4. Movies, cartoons or TV shows with bright flashing colors/lights and jerky movements.*
5. Looking at copy-machines while they are photocopying.*

* (This is because migraines are believed by some doctors to be related to epileptic attacks - the aura, that post-ictal feeling afterwards, etc., and some epileptic attacks can be triggered by strobes and flashing lights. I've even had them brought on by driving along a highway with frequent, intermittent changes from sun to shade caused by a row of tall trees on one side with the sun behind them.)

One more "handy hint", then I'll shut up! You know how when you have a migraine attack, and one by one have to cross things off your day's "to-do" list, including social commitments? And when you call to cancel, people treat you like a malingerer, telling you to just "take an aspirin" and "shake it off?" Or even getting angry and yelling at you? Well, I got tired of that, and started telling folks I had the FLU, instead. Same symptoms, but "flu" is something people can relate to and understand! (Plus they don't want to catch it from you!) ;p
Anyone here ever have spells where you just wake up at night all the time. I have had this for
about a week and I dont know why.  I am not worried or anything but I guess something is causing this.  Maybe this job gets on my nerves I dont know.  Hope it soon straightens out.
Yep! Sounds like TMJ. I wake up with the sides of my tongue...

sore because my jaw clamps down on my tongue and sores on my cheeks from biting them.  I would also have an aching jaw for weeks at a time that required mountains of Motrin and muscle relaxers.  I finally went to the dentist and now have an acrylic mouthguard I wear at night.  I hated it at first, but boy does my jaw feel better.  No more aching, no more trouble chewing, no more sores on my cheeks and tongue!  Cost me $300 for the mouthguard cause my insurance wouldn't pay, but it was worth every penny!

Go to your dentist!

Oh, c'mon now....abstinence? Wake up and smell the coffee. :)

It all helps!
You know I started using GoodSearch for the group I was interested in and then ended up volunteering. I would not have thought I coulde have such a good time working for free, LOL!
See if this helps.....
I have had a heel spur, on the right that I use for my foot pedal, ouch! Bottom line, it eventually just went away and I was told this is the case sometime. If you are having some kind of foot pain (I was having electrical like currents when I walked on my left foot, no other time) and 1 lady here on MTstars suggested wearing arch supports. I had spent years trying to get some assistance and that finally was my answer. I could hug her neck!! I would definitely try the arch supports, inexpensive and might be the answer.
Thank you so much! It really, really helps to know someone gets it (sm)
I don't know that I am handling it so well. I am scared to death but I am trying to just keep moving forward anyway. I know it is time. I know I can't fix it.
I don't know if it helps to know

you're not the only one in this situation.  I don't have any financial magic wands lying around unfortunately.  What I've been doing for medical care, since I'm also uninsured, is seeing a nurse practitioner at a school-based clinic in my community that operates on a sliding scale, so I only have to pay $20. per visit.  The NP does my Pap smears and lab work, writes my scrips, and refers me for other diagnostics like yearly mammos.  She put me on LexaPro for depression about 2 years ago, which probably saved my sanity and my life.

Are there community-based clinics where you live?  You probably need an antidepressant, at least for the short term.   It will enable you to make constructive decisions and see that the future is not the bleak dead end it appears to be right now.

Take care of yourself.

if this helps
Credit Unions are less slimy than banks, or you could just skip it altogether and take your money out every time you get paid.

My church collects birthday party decorations, plates, etc. I would go you the church nearest you and ask for some help with the birthday parties.

I take a 20 minute nap and that helps when I get like this.
.
I think it helps to plan.
Even if that would be for 7 days.  I like to somewhat plan, and then deviate when needed.  Staples are pretty much always on hand.  For something different, I'll look at cookbooks and write down the ingredients adding them to my shopping list.  I think having a list and pretty much knowing what you want to cook each day is a good way to save money and curb overspending on none-such items.  I am battling with getting my kids to eat more fruits and veggies, so I am having that struggle (should be eating more rice and not so many potatoes).  Good luck....
Hope this helps :)

I have a teenage daughter; we live in the Midwest, just outside the Twin Cities.  Being fashionable can be so hard, especially on a budget.  So I hope this will help... :)

As far as hair, definitely a little longer hairstyle, but not too long... yes, shaggy is in, but it has to be a groomed shaggy.

For clothing, the boys in this area in that age group are wearing anything from casual preppy with brands like Abercrombie, Hollister, and American Eagle, to skateboard punk, with brands like Volcom, etc.  Also, "rock" T-shirts are in.

I support my children off my income as a QA person, so it can be hard to get those pricier brand name items.  Target has a lot of nice things that are very fashionable and look like the higher end brands without the cost.  Also, we have a store called Plato's Closet nearby.  It is like a consignment shop, but they purchase the used clothes directly from people instead of on a pay you if it sells basis, and they are SUPER picky... they only pick the best items in great condition that are CURRENT and TRENDY.  If you have something like that in your area, it is a GREAT resource... Also, TJ Maxx carries designer items at lower prices, usually they are overstocks.  I buy for my daughters this way, and they get tons of compliments on their wardrobes... no one would ever know that I spent probably LESS than I would have if I bought their clothes from Walmart.

Good luck!!!  Have fun with the makeover!  :)

time is what helps
The first year is the hardest. You have to go through the first xmas, the first birthday, etc. It slowly gets a little easier. My dad died 11 years ago and I still miss him. Sometimes the littlest thing will remind me of him and I just will start crying. I found reading books on the stages of grief helped. Take care.
Yep...taking something for that which helps a lot though (sm)
Trouble sleeping, etc. Mostly get a restless feeling during the day...bored, want to do something different, need to think about multiple things at once. Want to hear the TV and work and still daydreaming about other things at the same time!
