Maybe as soon as you wake up, you can take some Benadryl (or generic), that helps me. nm

Save your money - just buy generic Benadryl (same ingredient) unless you have pain.

An eyelash curler is quite cheap and works well. SM
There are may mascaras out there that will thicken up lashes.

Try both these before shelling out that kind of money.
I just thought of a great generic gift
for secret Santas and/or acquaintences. It's not very personal... My daughter asked me what I wanted for Christmas and there's really nothing I want besides winning the lotto, so I thought of the last thing I wanted to buy at the store, but didn't because I'd already reached my budget... okay this is very not sexy lol... I'm slowly replacing all my regular light bulbs with the those new energy-efficient fancy expensive things,  So I told her to buy me a couple.  An inexpensive, useful gift, that sends a Green message!  Being a messenger of Green, I thought I might pass the suggestion to all of ya'll who need an impersonal but useful gift for someone.  hoho ;-)
The Mirage in my paper is CHEAP-CHEAP-CHEAP

Oxycise!! 15 min a day - works great (sm)
about $30 - do a Google on it.
Sticky paws works great!
We also got all brand new living room furniture last year, and we have 3 cats. We went to Petco (you can get it at any pet store), and they have a product called Sticky Paws. It is a double-sided clear tape that you put on the edges of the furniture, where cats tend to scratch the most, and when they go to scratch, they hate the sticky feeling on their paws and never go near it again! We have been using it for a year since we got our furniture, and our cats haven't once tried to scratch it since putting the sticky paws on!
Abreva. Works great, but it doesn't really
make the ones there go away. It'll stop new ones from coming out and will stop current ones from getting any bigger. You have to use it consistently though when you have a break out.
I use Rogaine for wormen 2% and it works great
for me.
It is recommended for persons who have high blood pressure, as Rogaine lowers the blood pressure. This was the first usage of Rogaine to lower the blood pressure. As secondary effect was discovered that people who took minoxidil (main ingredient in Rogaine)
started to grow more hair.

But one has to have a good heart to use this.

All precautions and possible side effects are printed in the pamphlet that comes with the bottle, it is a liquid spray, sprayed on the scalp, twice a day.
Works great for me, too! Power napping and then I work much better, too!
:)
i've had mine for almost three years, still works great sm

i leave my monitor on all the time, but it has a "sleep mode" after so long.  it's a Dell.  actually the whole computer system has been great!

NeilMed Sinus Rinse works great if you can do it on a regular basis.nm.

Vacuum cleaner works great for me! Love those midair catches.

habit
sounds like you all are getting into a habit. . . a rut so to speak. . break up the rut now. . a person can only treat you badly (or call you names) if you let them. . sometime when you aren't fussing with each other, you need to have a serious talk. . working from home is very difficult with all the little distractions and anything he can do to help -instead of hinder- would be great. . you don't bother him or distract him at his work do you? It is hard to get people to understand that this is a real job with a real schedule, etc. .

communication is the answer. . I read somewhere once that anger isn't a real emotion - it is just a response to another emotion that you don't know how to deal with, such as frustration, fear, etc. . .
I have a really bad habit

I buy things and then don't use them.  It can be food,  shoes,  clothes,  what ever !  I don't go out shopping looking for things to buy on purpose.  It is worse in shoes and clothes.  Here is a couple of examples.

I have 5 new pair of shoes I bought Sketchers and Clark sandles and they are STILL in the box.  Then I have NEW clothes with the tags on them.  Bought them to wear to an occasion and then didn't so there they HANG !  Oh,  and 2 new purses.

Just last week I bought a complete outfit of a jacket, capri's and top plus a pair of Dockers and 3 tops.  What do I end up wearing all the time,  my same OLD stuff. It's like I want to keep them NEW !! if that makes any sense. It's not a waste of money as I will eventually wear them (someday).

DH doesn't say anything as he likes to see me buy things for myself.   As I get older I find myself doing this more. Plus I go up and down in weight like a YO-YO !

Weird kitty habit - what does it mean? (sm)

This is the first cat I've had to do this behavior, and I have no clue what it means - must be some instinct maybe?  Whenever she goes to one of her water bowls (that have fresh water put in them every day), just before she starts drinking, she wipes her front feet on the floor, like she's digging a hole.  Then she drinks.

I've seen cats act like they're burying their dinner after they've had enough to eat, and heard that it is an instinct that goes back to wild cats, lions, etc. burying their kill so they can come back to it later.  But what do you think the foot-wiping thing is?

Yes, dogs are creatures of habit. Nothing you have

Old dog keeps chewing front paw - new habit for him
any idea what causes it and if it is okay to put tea tree oil on it? He is 14 years old and has been doing this for a couple of weeks.  Has a raw spot there now.
Very easy. It is all a habit. My daughter
becamew a vegetarian and I followed.

Meat is good for its protein and its vitamin B12, etc...
But you can get these also from other food sources.
Plant protein is much healthier than animal protein.

Actually, all animal products are not good. They are all high in cholesterol and fat, the bad one, saturated fat. Even lean meat contains saturated fat, bad, bad.

On top of it, meat makes the blood and body acidic, that's also not good.

Furthermore, nowadays HORMONES are added to the animal fooder, especially estrogen, this makes the animals fatter and it makes also us fat.

After considering all this, I believed my daughter and converted to a vegetarian.

Amen.
Stealing child: How to break the habit??? sm

We have a 6-year-old foster child whose birth mom had a stealing problem.  Our 6-year-old has had several episodes where she was caught stealing both before she came to live with us and since moving in with us.  Conversations with her about it being wrong to steal, talking with the caseworker, psychologist & even a policeman have helped but occasionally she steals something from a store anyway.  The last episode was this weekend when she stole some nail  polish when my husband turned his back for a moment, even when she was being allowed to buy some lip gloss she was wanting.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to get her to stop stealing?  I've talked to the local juvenile court system and all they said was they couldn't do anything unless she is actually arrested.... which of course we're trying to stop.  Of note her biological mother had a problem with being arrested several times for stealing and even though it's not documented, we suspect that this child would see her mother steal or her mom had her steal at times for her.   There are plenty of times we can go into a store without problems with her, it's only every few months she steals.

Thank you.

DH uses Benadryl s/m
He was also on Effexor for quite a while, but lost our insurance and that went with it.  If he is going to be in public, he will take a Benadryl, uses it sort of like Xanax.  Sorry, but I don't have a child with it or least hope that my two youngest don't develop it like their dad.  Good luck.
Benadryl does the trick for me and
also if you have an itch, hey, it takes care of both. I absolutely cannot take it while working as it kicks in the sleepiness.
Tylenol PM is TY with benadryl. That is that sm
melatonin is something completely different. It raises the serotonin level, the sleep level. Too much of it knocks me out. Nightmares, hangover the next day.
Benadryl cream
Apply to your earlobes front and back, put in the earrings and don't touch the rest of the day! Really works, even if you have to wear the nickel earrings from time to time.
Valerian root/Benadryl
Valerian root helps, and I have also used Benadryl. Those are the only two things I know of without a rx. Best wishes - I know how bad it can be!
buy generic
I buy generic. Will try anything once and if it is too nasty, not use it again. I now buy generic laundry soap (who can afford to pay $12 for a bottle of Tide or Cheer?), generic soups for cooking. I have found some things actually taste better than name brand. I used to only buy ground sirloin for hamburgers...that has stopped.

My only advice...do not buy generic toilet paper. It is useless!!
I always buy generic.

I oftentimes laugh when I am shopping at my local store as I know when a meal or baking is done what the problem could be in doing this as doubt anyone can tell or if there is a difference that I made this with generic eggs for say 1.29 a dozen rather than those fancy eggs with a little stick-on at about twice as much.  Doubt it.

Find a local closest to home discount grocery.

Stock up on staples and store them appropriately.  If you bake, store brown sugar with a piece of bread in it to keep it soft, replace it if you need to.  Lots of items can be stored in freezer bags of the appropriate size, spaghetti, macaroni, etc.  Better than the bag it comes in.  Get those generic too.

I buy all my paper items in bulk - much cheaper to buy a 12-roll of TP on sle definitely than not.  Just make sure its not single-ply!!

NyQuil or Benadryl work for me on occasion. nm

Take OTC Estroven daily and Benadryl 25-50 mg each night
Works like a charm for me - plus the Benadryl helps with my allergies and my migraines. I hit meno early (early 40s) and it sucks! Can't sleep, wicked hot flashes, restless leg, weight gain, yadda yadda... but since i've been on Estroven Plus (actually, Eckerd Drug's generic, called Estroplus) taking it daily for about a month, the symptoms are SOOOOO much better!!
I must admit, this is the third night of not taking the Benadryl -SM
and my hair is already starting to feel better! It is not completely back to it's normal thickness and fullness, but it definitely feels a lot better than it did while taking the Benadryl daily! It doesn't feel nearly as thin and weak. It must have been the Benadryl all along! My hair feels so much better today!
I was also on clonazepam (generic) and
I was on it for nearly 10 years. Initially it was given to stop muscle cramps and spasms from my kidney disease. I was only on 0.5 mg a day for all those years. I stopped taking it cold turkey not knowing it was a drug you could become addicted to. I experienced agitation, neuropathy, hypersensitivity and it lasted roughly a week and a half. It was bad! When I next talked to my Doctor, he about freaked. He told me that drug is NEVER cold-turkeyed, but one must wean from it, because quitting it could cause seizures and other side effects up to and including death. I'm glad I'm off it though.

Just be aware that no matter how small the dose, when you stop it, WEAN!
A Little Sexy which is the generic for Red
Whenever I wear it I get complements too.
Second-hand and generic items
I am shopping for second-hand items at resale shops and buying only sale and generic items at the grocery store. I don't drive as much or as far as I used to to shop. I am working more hours, although for less pay as an MT.

I think the the crooks (politicians) who put the American public in this position should be prosecuted.
Zyrtec...generic..is good, sm

I also use Benadryl severe allergy and sinus (if you get the one w/o the sinus part listed it doesn't do much).  Try saline nasal spray too, but don't use something like Afrin for more than 3 days in a row 'cuz your nose can get hooked on it.

I had sinus surgery about 10 years ago and my sinuses are even worse now.  They're somewhat better now since I'm away from the humidity of FL, but still horrible.  I also use Nasonex RX 'cuz that's the only one w/o a nasty aftertaste.

Generic Zyrtec is good.
Take it at night cause it'll make you sleepy.
It doesn't matter "where you stand." What works for you is fine. What works for me is fine.
Comparing ourselves as to frequency is ridiculous.
read somewhere generic is not as effective as brand name
no msg
Anyone ever exerpience hair thinning/breakage with taking Benadryl daily
I have been taking one store brand Benadryl-type tablet every night before bed to help me with my allergies and to help me sleep for the past few of months. Ever since I started taking it, I have noticed that my hair is thinning and breaking very easily and is just very weak. I usually have very, very thick and full hair, but not anymore since taking it. In fact, my hair is usually so thick and heavy that I always had to go and get it thinned once a month because it made my head so hot! I stopped taking the antihistamine last night because I finally realized that may be what is causing my problem. Anyone else heard of this or had it happen?
I just paid $4.50 for a gallon of generic brand in Wyoming, nm
xx
I always thought Destiny's Child was generic, girl singers.

Generic corn-chex cereal, milk, & a cup of coffee. (nm)
.
Ha, I'm cheap too
That's why I said I really can't afford to buy anything!
No, you are not cheap.
I personally find those tip jars tacky. When I worked in the food industry, we were strictly forbidden to accept tips at the counter and if the customers insisted, we were supposed to turn it in to the manager, although the managers were usually cool and let us keep it.

Not cheap I guess, but
being into gardening I was wondering if they would like to fill containers with a little container garden of coleus varieties or other small, less expensive annuals. They could keep them or give them to their moms for Mother's Day. Just a thought. Maybe they could paint the outsides of the pots.
cheap eats
There are plenty of cheap eats in the city once you learn your way around. For example, the fruit in Chinatown is fantastic, and a whole lot cheaper than what I pay in my town. But my very, very, very favorite is a Middle Eastern pushcart on 6th and 56th(?) outside the Hilton. They sell a chicken and rice dish for $4 that is amazing. It is a huge amount of food, and I usually split with my daughter. Throw a couple of drinks in and we have spent $6 for a yummy lunch for two.

It is not unsanitary like you might think. They have been there for years and are extremely popular. Last time we went to NYC, we stayed in Brooklyn and made a special trip to the pushcart. They are there during the week for lunch only.
yeah ours did too but they are the cheap
they don't last long.
cheap beauty
Benzoyl peroxide at night (zit cream) Aveeno 70 SPF face sunscreen during the day. The sunscreen has some type of silicone in it with lots of vitamins and some zinc for a shimmering effect. The benzyol peroxide cream sloughs off the dead skin cells, but it stains bed sheets and clothes, so get out your white pillow cases. The sunscreen is about $10 for a large tube.
is this *selective remembering* or is she CHEAP?

Salonpas is cheap - cheaper still at Sam's
I think you can buy a huge box for under $10. They are good on sprained wrists, too, my daughter gets those after doing carpentry around the house (talented girl) and we put them on and they work great. I use the slightly larger ones on my chronic low back pain and while they don't last for hours, they give pretty good relief of moderate to low pain and last about an hour. And they really are inexpensive. I learned about them in a Chronic Pain Class I was taking at my HMO, thought what can I lose, and found they work well for me.

cheap and easy meals?
What are your favorite quick and cheap family meals?  I have to bring my grocery budget down.  I need some ideas for meals that can be made for about $10.  My family is getting tired of spaghetti, chili, pork barbecue sandwiches and sloppy joes.  What do YOU whip together on the cheap?  I'm all ears.
