Using a DVI system C phone. How do I get my foot pedal... sm

to automatically back up a bit?   The instructions I have for my DVI are very limited and I can find nothing with regards to automatic backup.  There is no phone number (got this phone long time ago) to contact for help.  Was hoping someone here could help.  Thanks!

they are dialing into a phone system, so are you -
it sits with the MTSO or the hospital itself, who sets the key codes.
Is the foot pedal attached? nm

The pedal is attached to the C-phone.

Anyone else have the family pet who has to sit directly on your foot pedal? My dog (who is an 80-lb
black lab) has done this all week and will not come out from under my desk.  Don't know if it's the weather or what, but it is making me crazy!
just FYI: headset is #*11 and foot pedal is #*19...nm

C-phone foot pedal
I just purchased a C-phone and cannot get the foot pedal to work. I've tried using the code in the manual, but it is as if the C-phone doesn't recognize it and just "dials" the keys I've entered. I was able to program my headset just fine. Any suggestions?
C-phone foot pedal replacement
Thanks...I had made a crude connection myself with electrical tape years ago for a higher volume without the headset, but it didn't work too well. The one from Radio Shack may work much better. I'm sure the sound recorder would have shortcut keys for fast-forward and rewind, but I'm not sure where to find sound recorder on Windows Professional. I'll try to find it now and make a shortcut on the desktop. Thanks again!
C phone foot pedal is not working??
Any suggestions or is it just bad wiring???? Thanks so much.
C-phone comes with it's own foot pedal and pluges
into the left side of it. Not a standard plug, ether.
Need some help with Dictaphone C-phone programming the foot pedal..... sm
I have a coworker that needs to program her Dictaphone foot pedal.  The foot pedal does not stop or start the dictation from what I understand.  It is a used unit with no manual.  I had a C-phone years ago but do not ever remember having to program my pedal.  Thanks in advance!
My foot pedal is button #15 on the C-phone, I think it depends on what your co. has programmed. nm

a phone/transcription unit with foot pedal and earphone...

If Google it - might find a picture of one.
Try putting phone book next to pedal so your foot is flat and not angled on heel. NM

Converting C-Phone to keyboard versus foot pedal rewinding and fast-forwarding
Hi there:

I have some as-yet-undiagnosed neuropathy that began with my eighth injection of inteferon for hepatitis C. I initially had severe numbness from the waist down (felt like tourniquets on my legs) that is now controlled somewhat with high-dose Neurontin, but now I have moderate to severe pain in the lower back and buttocks if I sit for very long. I'm on a mild narcotic/analgesic, but I still have pain and discomfort long before it is time to take the next dose. I'm currently only earning about 60-80% of my normal income.

My question is this: Does anyone out there know of a way to convert the foot pedal functions of the C-phone to a keyboard, other than having an integrated system, which the hospital I work for does not have?

There must be some way for handicapped people, like those in a wheelchair, to do medical transcription without the use of a foot pedal, but my guess is that you would have to do away with the Dictaphone dication system completely, which I doubt my employer would do unless I threatened some sort of legal action.

I plug my headset directly...

...into the computer in the jack that you plug speakers into.

C Phone not dialing--D-Light from CHARTS-- Please help

Hey y'all.   I have a little black box of a C-Phone, from C.H.A.R.T.S. and it is called  D-Light.

Yesterday it would not dial.  Everything else works apparently, the green light is on and it changes from green to red when I hit the buttons to dial or hit the foot pedal.

But, the DIAL TONE is lower volume than normal and it will not dial.  The buttons do nothing.  I do get the phone company prompt "If you are trying to make a call, please hang up..." if I stay on the line long enough.

It is acting like it is not getting power, this is how it acts when the power cord is not plugged in.  But, it is plugged in.  I think the machine could work, I just don't know what is going wrong.

Please help if you know what is going wrong.  TX so much-- I gotta work!!

WAV files are better. No dialing in. No tying up your phone line.
Sound quality is good.
C-phone used to call in to dictating systems to receive work. A special phone. nm

if a new headset doesn't help, plug directly into CPU and avoid speakers and see if that helps.

Foot pedal? Going from VXP to applying for other companies. What foot pedal should I get that woul
I need one even just to test so it seems.  Thanks for the input!
I use my c-phone whenever we travel. You can hook it directly into your room phone. Be sure and as

You MUST have a special pedal sm
My Infinity won't work with it and no, you can't use another player for the voice.

startstop.com, I believe it is, has a dedicated Inscribe pedal for $98. Don't get the system thingy, just the pedal. I just ordered mine, btw.

My verdict is still out on Inscribe and I think I'll like it better when I get my pedal.
C-Phone Headset

Try re-programming it using one of the black buttons above the number pad.  I do not use the speaker/mute button for my headset but programmed it using the first black button at the top of the row on the left-hand side.  Try that and it should work without disconnecting you every time.  Hope that makes sense

C-phone headset question
Thanks so much!  With your post and the help of others we did figure out that I needed a phone splitter.  I plugged the splitter into the internet modem, dial out with a land line phone until I get a connection, pick up the C-phone, place the call on hold, and then hang up the land line and I'm in.  My next question is "How do you get your headset to work without the line being disconnected"?  I've already programmed my headset as #*11, as per the C-phone manual.  But when I select speaker/mute and press the program key for my headset the call is disconnected.  I guess I asking for the sequence of steps after my call is connected in order to get the headset to work without the call being disconnected.  Thanks!
C-phone - How do I get the headset to work?

Hi all!

My question is "When my C-phone call is connected what is the sequence of buttons that are pushed (in what order?) so that connecting my headset doesn't drop the call?"  I have a program button set up as #*11, as per the manual for my headset.  However, when my call is connected and I press speaker/mute and then the headset program key, or when I press the headset program key first, either way, my call gets disconnected.  Any thoughts of what I may be doing wrong?  Thanks so much!

c-phone headset programming

I got this on 06/01/07 from MT Stars - here it is for you to program

Make sure the Dictaphone is plugged in and also into the wall phone jack.

Notice the display screen at the top of the Dictaphone, 3 gray buttons under the display.

Press the left gray button under the word PRGM.

The display will now read

PROGRAM

KEYS ID/TIME TEL

Press the gray button below the word KEYS.

The display will now read SELECT PROGRAM KEY.  At this point push one of the 16 black keys below the display on the telephone keypad.  If you are programming your headset for example, select any one of the 16 black keys that you want.  Press that black key.

The display will now say ENTER NUMBER.  For headsets programming #*11 (that is, the POUND key, the STAR key and then the number 11)

Now press the MULTIPLY KEY to the right of the telephone keypad.  This key says SELECT on top of it and has an X multiply function on it.

Press the STOP key to exit programming function.  The STOP key is located second from the right on the top row of the keys on the bottom of the C-phone.

Hope this helps.  I printed this out and this has been so useful, especially when unplugging the C-phone during electrical storms for a period of time and you lose the programming.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL

I have heard that if a headset is used or a speaker phone--sm
this is what causes the static. again, this is just what I heard from my own coordinator when a hospital account was using her call in system and using headsets. It took alot to convince the doctors not to use them, and alot of reports with *holes* in them where the transcriptionists could not understand them due to the static. good luck.
A wave pedal is a foot pedal that connects to either
serial port, game port, or USB depending on the software needed with it.   You have to download the work via the internet and most companies still require high-speed internet, though some allow dial-up or satellite.   A pedal costs about $70, though can find on e-bay cheaper.  You can download ExpressScribe for free to use with the foot pedal unless the company requires a different software program.
LOL. That's funny. I like the retro cell phone headset. nm

Ladies!! My c-phone headset plug is not working!
I don't know what happened.  One minute it was working fine and the next day whenever I insert the headset I get no sound.  The footpedal works fine so it is not the power plug..only the headset and I also cannot get the speakerphone to work or I would use it this way.  It's one of the C-phones that have no display...I'm so upset.  I purchased it off of E-bay about 2 weeks ago for $150.  Any ideas of what I can do?  How to get the speakerphone to work.  Thank you!
Did not finish above...need to find a noise canceling headset for a C-phone, TIA
TIA/
It's basically a phone w/o the handle. Has number pads. A headset plugs into it sm
so you can listen to the dictation via a phone line. So, if you use one you will need 2 seperate phone lines unless you want your phone to be tied up all day.

Docs love it because they can just pick up the phone and talk their dictation right into the phone.

You would access those files by dialing a 1-800 number and then putting in your codes, etc., and then the voice file will be there; kind of like dialing into a voice message box to retrieve your messages except you are retrieving dictation instead. Very simple to use. GREAT quality. Excellent quality.

I am 99% sure I am taking a job I was just offered yesterday that requires the use of one. Right now I am on Doc-Q-U-Suck and can't wait to change.
wav pedal is a foot pedal that plugs into your

computer so you can transcribe wav files.  There are many other formats such as DSS, but they are all digital voice files.

I don't think brand of foot pedal is important, but need to know if it is game port, serial port, or USB and how many pins it has.   The majority of them are made by Infinity in some foreign country, but sold by many companies.

WAV pedal vs. USB port foot pedal

PLEASE HELP! Are wav pedals and USB port foot pedals one in the same?  I've only transcribed from audio tapes, and all this is new to me.  Thank you for your help.

I also have a USB foot pedal. Do most companies use the USB pedal or SM

will I need a 9-pin or a 15-pin.  Also, which transcription software for playing back audio files is the best?  I've used one that was a fee download, I think it was called Bytescribe or somethingl ike that.  Does that work for most all files or should I look into purchasing something like Start/Stop or GearPlayer?

Oh and does anyone know where I can get Microsoft Word or Office Suite for a reasonable (I'd say cheap, but cheap usually means bootleg) price?

Sorry to ask so many questions, but it's been a while since I've worked for a national.  Before the hopsital job I'm being laid off from, I worked in the office at a hospital.  So I've been out of the loop so to speak.

Thanks guys.

I was told I would dial directly into the system/Will I need to get dial up internet service?

Try google for address/phone sm
type in your state and then department of labor.
Anyone use VoIP phone system
and are you having problems with connectivity?  We switched to internet-based phone service a few weeks ago and recently I started having problems with downloading the voice.  I get the report but without any voice.  If you have had this problem, how did you remedy it?  I'm about at my wit's end.  Thanks!
Does a digital phone system
work for a C-phone? I do have unlimited long distance, but it's not the regular old phone line, it's through my cable server. Compatible?
Digital you can either get a phone-in system. sm
Phone-in is more expensive, obviously. Digital handhelds are best option. You can have doctors buy or you can provide and use as a writeoff on taxes. You can use Express Scribe for most, but most of the time there is a transcription module for whatever brand of recorder you buy (Sony, Olympus, etc)
I thought about a phone system but
I like getting out in the mornings. A lot of times, that is my only outing for the day and I get to see the staff, who have become my friends, so I don't mind the drive.
Would someone please explain to me how a c phone system works?
I have been an MT for 15 years....started with typewriter! LOL  Anyway, am now up to digital dictation with local hospital but am looking for other employment.  I'm trying to understand the c-phone system and how cost effective it would be to work using one.  I have been offered a job but need a c-phone and unlimited long distance.  THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for the help.
A regular Infinity USB pedal should work with their system. Why not ask them for sure? nm

What is the best foot pedal?
What is the best foot pedal to have?  Which one is the easiest to set up and use and can be used with different files?  I already bought one but can not get it set up to be able to use.  Bought from Expresscribe to use with their program and have had no help.  Brought in a computer guy.  No help.  So I am stuck with this pedal and can't use it.  I am now looking to buy another one.  Any recommendations?
FOOT PEDAL
It is a USB port pedal.  It wasn't so much as they would not help me, I got aggravated waiting 2-3 days in between e-mails and trying things that did not work.  It has something to do with no driver.  So now I am looking for a universal foot pedal to make it easier for me to find a secondary account.
foot pedal
I have a converter I bought from Radio Shack - I have one that converts USB to 9 pin and another one that converts 9 pin to USB
Foot pedal
I am working for a company, renting a computer and foot pedal. I discovered I could use my own computer so want to send their equipment back. Their foot pedal is a 15 pin pedal. I have a 15 pin pedal of my own, looks identical to theirs. When I plug my foot pedal into the game port on their computer it does not work. I need to know what I need to do to my own foot pedal to make it work on the game  port on my own computer. I am so technologically challenged. Does anyone know what I need to do?
