Anybody else not feel like working today?

You know how you're sleep deprived, then when you catch up on your sleep, you feel even more tired than before?  Ugh.  I slept for 10 hours last night.  I've got a killer headache.  All the work coming up on my account today is lousy.  I'd rather be doing anything else right now.  Time to set the timer and get 'er done.

Today I feel...
Today I feel tired.  Didn't sleep well last night.  Kids are coming home early so that's a good thing    Work right now is slow, but that might not be a bad thing 'cause I could use a nap!!!  Overall, a very blessed day.  No complaints!!!!
Today I feel...
FRAZZLED! Too many things going on here.
today I feel
grateful for all God has given to me and sad for all that God has taken away from me.
I felt bad today, but you must feel like this everyday
You need some serious help, who is this mean and nasty person, BTK or charles manson!
working today
Yes, us I.C.'s don't much in the way of overtime, do we? I have been working some today, but was not asked to. Actually I don't this company has ever asked me to work a holiday; i just get bored and do it!
I'm working today
With my oldest two kids in college, I have no choice! I can't believe the cost of an education these days.

Happy New Year!  Is anybody other than me working today?
working today
Unfortunately I did have to work pretty much today.  I have 2 piles of work on my desk all the time.  We just came back from vacation and the work just sits there until I return.  They are 2 private accounts, very nice people to work for, but there is always a lot of work.  One of them gave me a bonus and told me, when you get back you are going to work hard, right?  I said, i have been workjing very hard the week before, but they understand and work with me,  Thank God for the work, with so many people out of work.  I thank God for all my blessings that God has given to me.
Yes, I could be working today...
if I could find a job. I don't know how many applications I've sent out in the past three months. Two companies told me I was hired and would be sending out packets or contacting me for setup. Nope, nothing. How many times do I have to follow up? How disorganized can a business owner possibly be? When you tell someone you'll call them, do it! I guess I'll go fill out my foodstamps application since WalMart isn't hiring either.
working today
Have you tried Transcend? I think they are hiring. Hard to make very much, but better than nothing. Oh yes, they do pay and on time every time for past 3 1/2 years.
Yes, I could be working today
You really should stick with 1 company right now that pays well until the economy heals. If you have good skills, it is a sure bet that you can withstand any crisis. After things get looking better, then I would think would be the time to improve on what you have but a good steady income is the bet one can hope for until this thing is fixed. I am just glad I can stay at home and still make money - that is the beauty of being an MT in my book. Being laid off just would mean taking classes and improving my skills so I will get an even better position - using the time wisely. I think you can even get government assistance to take MT courses (advanced) on line and go on and get the CMT while you have the time. It is something that is well worth the time and looks great on a resume. This beats watching Oprah and eating bons bons.
so much for working anymore today....
yeowssa!
I was working today, hit a wrong key and...
in my report came up all of the secret code fields..and I could not finish my report..Do you know what I am talking about?  It has all of those funny marks, dots in between words, etc...My tech support is out today...Does ANYONE know how to get this off of there?  I tried just using my Word and it is in there too..HELP!
fingers not working today

I have had my days with horrible dictors, and today I have a dream dictor, could no thave been happier to get her and my fingers do not work.  I can't seem to type anything correctly. lol.  Thank goodness I proof my work before sending - thank goodness for spellcheckers and grammar checkers - cause I suck today lol

Does anybody else have that kind of day - or is it just me? Now be nice lol

Anyone with Smartmed on here working today?

I hope this is okay to post here.

I cannot send my files. I changed my sending options like I was told to a couple of days ago. Would anyone be willing to email me the sending options they have so I can see if that will work? Thanks.

Fill in the blank time! Today I feel ______ (for me it's good)...sm
Good work day so far, kids will be home from school in a couple of hours and the weather is nice outside.
Anyone doing home chores today instead of working? sm

So far we've put out 40 bags of mulch around the flower garden area as it was time to refresh it, and then I've put in a fence in the back yard for the dog (deal alert - if you have a small dog that won't jump over a fence, you can get 150 feet of kennel fencing that is 3 feet  high at Lowe's with the stakes for just under $100, and it took me less than an hour to figure out how I wanted it to look and install it... and I'm not a home improvement queen!).

The dog feels like she's in doggie heaven running around without having to have her tie-up ropes and my neighbors  across the road should be happy that I've spruced up the flower garden area - especially since they just put their house on the market.

Now I'm ready for a nice long Calgon soak!!!

Okay - Everybody reply with NM if you are going to quit working today!
If everyone is going to stick together (happy with your job or not), then we should all notify our employer today that we refuse to work until things change for ALL american MTs.  How many of you are willing to do that right now?
excuse the typos.....been working to long today already! - nm

Sorry Guys - Today is the 1st day in months the site seems to not be working.
???
Working for a national, do you ever feel you can't ask for

an increase in pay because you're concerned you'll price yourself right out of a job?

I make 9 cents a line IC.  I get my line count pumped up to where I want by hard work on the accounts I'm working.  I get pretty efficient in that account and then I get pushed to different work where I have to start all over again and work really hard to make a decent line count.  It's seemed to happen again, so I'm thinking about requesting a pay increase but then I start thinking that I'm already at a "better than most" pay from what I've seen posted here and elsewhere.  What do you think?  I'm interested in opinions if anyone will share.  Thanks.

Does anyone else feel like you're always working
i feel like i'm typing constantly!! my whole life is type type type type type
I feel like I'm working my @** off for pennies

I'm working too, get double line count for today, but reports are

Anyone else working today? Am I the only lowly sole with nothing to do until dinner time?

I feel like I am the only on working today, as the Boscov's parade is on TV, my two teens are sleeping, my husband is working OT and here I am working also.  Gotta cover my account today, at least until this afternoon, when I have to cook for my little family.

Just wanted to see if anyone else is out there today!

I am working today but i don't get extra pay. just behind on clinic notes and trying to catch up
between cooking.
Actually, no don't feel weird working at home.. sm
You make a life outside of MTing too. Your message was "who smiles at everyone way too much and tries too hard to make conversation." I'd say, how nice, how kind, how interesting to be around. As opposed to the years of office toods (attitudes), back-biting all the time in offices, no thanks, no thanks ever again. Just tell others you meet you work at home making a living and look at their eyes (they wish they could too, oh yes) the longing for peace and some measure of tranquility. You CAN be a very interesting person to be around.
Do you think you would feel isolated working at home?sm

I do have children and I have worked at home for the last 7 years, the whole time they were both infants.  I have one in school now and one in preschool.  You are right.  There are benefits to being able to pick them up or staying out with them, and I hadn't really thought about the costs of clothing, gas, etc. - good point.  Thanks for your input.

anyone feel weird working at home all the time?
Who smiles at everyone way too much and tries too hard to make conversation?
I get less done when my husband is laying in the bed - I feel cheated if I am working while he is re

I know how you feel. Working at home can be distracting, just having other things on our minds (sm)
like dirty dishes in the sink, piling up laundry, a bed right across the hall to take a nap in. What works for me is tune everything out including internet distractions and e-mails, phone calls. No more than a 10 minute break every couple of hours, 30 minutes lunch time and just hit those keys. The end result can be pretty rewarding.
One week of working on a new platform and I do not feel it is user-friendly
Editing itself is not bad. It is the documentation of the changes I made, I think for purposes of feedback to MT, which I have to do on Word (outside of the platform) that is driving me crazy and is eating up a lot of time. I do not think I am being productive. I am paid an hourly rate but I am almost embarrassed with my production. I think doing QA without going the through the MTing using the same platform presents a lot of difficulty. Is it too early to decide whether this is a good fit for me?
YES!! Love 'em! Lots of fun, doesn't feel like working out. :)

HELP with Shorthand. Suddenly today when I tried to start work today.sm

my ShortHand would type only the first letter of an expansion and then take all the letters away!  I checked and the Type It button is grayed out!  I have restarted the computer and looked on the Shorthand Help menu but can find nothing that applies.  Can anyone please help me ASAP?  I am lost without it!  TIA

Perhaps you are right. This one is dated today. The original article was on Yahoo today also with

But this article states it would only affect new customers right now.  So I am upset over nothing.  I went through heck with BellSouth when they charged me a surcharge of an extra 50 a month and then would write a letter saying I had to switch to a long distance service and pay by the minute because of my "excessive" use. They told me the unlimited charge was for an average of an hour a day not somebody who worked out of their home and I needed to switch a business plan at over 200 a month charge.  I switched over to cable because of that and then to read that cable was going to charging on a per use fee and not a flat monthly fee it upset me.  It is the nature of our work, VR, only paying for VBC, having headers and footers taken away, now being charged for being on line, etc.  It just seems that everything is done to keep to insure less money.

Blasted cold out today. It was 104 degrees last week, but it's 40 degrees today with rain.
However, I do like cozy days like today when I don't have to go anywhere.  I'm done working, the house is clean, there's chili on the stove for dinner already, and I'm just putzing around.  I think I'll go bake some jalapeno cheese bread to go with the chili.
if you feel like that after 12 years, and I feel like that after six months
what hope is there?
I feel people who feel like this post
needs to a) either be a stay at home mother and not work or b) realize that she is no queen bee and I could care less about a degree. What company out here that you know of compensates for having a degree? Means nothing to them. Your working and being there when they assign/need/require/whatever is what you should do IF YOU WANT A JOB in this field, otherwise get out and do something else or become that babysitter.
You get more working the evening or night shifts and working w/o benefits. And producing like a mad

Ditto....granted I am not working much these days, but am currently trying out a new way of working
when I do work which seems to be helping.  I am timing myself and keeping a log of how long it takes to to type however many minutes.  I am averaging anywhere from 13-18 minutes of dictation an hour now doing this.  Granted the time fluctuates between who I am typing, and if I have to look up names, addresses, etc., just depends on the division I am doing at the time.  But work that used to take me 3 hours to do is now taking me under 2 hours, I am also trying to put in more macros as I go along, which slows me down initially but pays off in the long run of course.  I was working "all the time" before but took forever to get done since I was not applying myself. This new "attitude" has helped me a lot.  My goal, in the Fall, is to do 90 minutes a day consistently at 6 hours, and then maybe get up to 120 minutes a day at 8 hours, still while having at least half of the day free (do 60 minutes at night, and the other 60 by Noon).  Thereby doing 1200-1400 lines a day.  I have never really buckled down and done more than 8000 lines per pay period, so it will be a nice change.  Maybe you can do something like that and have a specific knock off time as was suggested below.
Working holidays? Out shopping in stores where someone IS working

that holiday you refuse to work?  Grocery stores, food joints & seems any store is open on holidays and you expect them to be fully staffed, so why shouldn't we?

Yes, I took off for the first time on Christmas day, in 18 years and it was great, but I worked Christmas eve and this whole past weekend.

Someone has to do it!

No need to feel badly for me - feel badly for an adult who has no control of his/her own life!
I hope these people didn't produce any daughters! Bad, bad example!
working IN A HOSPITAL is different than working at home.
Someone can steal you identity from the internet if they want to. Why would you go to the time and trouble to jeopardize a job that requires some level of skill to steal someone's identity or medical records? You could get a job as a retail clerk and get info easier than going through the testing required to become an MT.
Somehow working at home translates into not really working
My in-laws are the worst. Whenever they plan something last minute and my husband says that I had to work, they say, "but she works at home!". When I one time mentioned I had a "schedule" and basically punch a clock and work full time, I don't think they believed me. They will sometimes call mid-day during the week if they are in the area to see if I want to go for lunch, etc! The best is, my husband doesn't make all that much money, so where is it coming from, the money fairy? I am ready to strangle someone! So I know how you feel and I'm sorry it upset you. You are not alone.
I daydream about NOT working while I'm working.

There are so many other things I need and want to get done.  I've been working way too hard lately, and summer is just slipping by again.  Well, I'm outty.

I am going to see it today!!
nm
Usually twice a day for about 10-15 min BUT today I seem
to have been here more. I'm getting behind though and going to cut outta here until I'm done for the day! LOL

Just a lot of information to pass along to some who really seem to want to know.
WE HAD 73 TODAY!

I don't think I'd make it down south.  We had high 90s with humidity for 16 days straight and that was bad enough.  Glad it is cool again.

Don't buy gas today

e-mail because of the high prices and this a national boycott. Wondering if anyone else received or heard this.

doing well today

Just did 1343 lines in 170 minutes but that includes printing, 24 envelopes, looking up names, getting on here three times, doing 3 E-mails to my subcontractor -- at 0.11 per gross line.  So I am happy today.
