Corporate greed is a rampant disease that will end up killing the American middle class....sm

These people never have enough, there are no scruples, In God We Trust is just something printed on currency instead of being a moral principle carried down by our Founders...the French started a revolution over this. I hate all war and violence, but how do we stop global economy as being the tool which the corporate entities use to rape the middle class workers? Sorry for the rant, bad week....year!

No, corporate greed is what sends work overseas.
The only reason offshoring is alive is because our fellow Americans are too cheap to pay a living wage. They want their companies to show a greater profit and stock to go up.

I am an excellent MT. However, I can't make squat for money in this field because every single company I get on with sticks me with their lousiest accounts. I've learned seven new accounts in the past month between a small MTSO and a national. That's how it works. You do your best, QA scores reflect it, and they give you their garbage that nobody else will do.
Walmart is trying to save the consumer MONEY. It's not all about corporate greed.
Rubbermaid products are advertised. So the costs of doing business with Rubbermaid factor in advertising costs. Now I don't care what brand name of plastic container I buy if the quality is equal. So I buy Rubbermaid's competitor (I forget the name) cheaper because they don't advertise. I also think there are a lot of big executives at Rubbermaid who take a bigger profit each year which once again factors in the price of Rubbermaid.

With the economy as it is, gas prices soaring, interest rates up, taxes up, our pay going down (MQMT), I don't care to subsidize Rubbermaid's advertising budget or their CEOs salary. And I go to Walmart and buy the plastic container that is cheaper because they don't advertise.
Once was middle class.

I was going to agree with you at first, but....  There is always food on the table, bills are paid.  Have pretty much what I need, but as I get older I care about having a lot less.  Certainly not rich, neither of us will be able to retire any time soon, although had we planned better, we might have been able to.  So I guess that put's us sort of in the middle, huh?

Hardly. We will always have and need a middle class.
The middle class is supporting everyone. This is a socialistic society.

I work and make money to pay for my stuff.

I work and make money to pay for YOUR stuff.

Believe me, there is a need for a middle class in a society like this one. They're just apprehensive to use the "S" word because it sounds too much like *gasp* Communism!
Yes, we will always NEED a middle class,
but don't think it will ALWAYS be there....just look around you.... Maybe when the rich have to take care of the "working poor" we will see a turn-around, but then again maybe they'll just "forget" them.  Don't have much faith in this economy.  The poor are being ripped of any programs that existed just a few years ago.  By the time the "middle class" hits bottom, there will be no help, no kind of any social programs in existance, just the rich and poor.  Which will you be?  Yeah, yeah, I'm pessimistic, but also realistic.
Convinced the middle class.
xx
What middle class? No longer exists. sm
Just two classes now.
America's middle class is disappearing, which (sm)
the country SHOULD be worried about, as we pay most of its bills. The very poor do not, and the rich have too many loopholes.
My middle schooler is being taught the changes in typing class.

For anyone that is interested the HR person at Corporate is Donna Jack at ext. 4905 at the corporate
800 number. I suppose we can discuss with her or leave a message regarding this situation in Amherst and hopefully she can directed the problem to someone down there. Enough is enough of this now.
This has to do with US greed, not Indian greed.

GREED
x
Oh, you better believe there's a LOT of greed
+
It's all about greed in this country. sm
We need to figure out how much in the way of tax revenue (from the reduced income of MTs and from the MTSOs) that is lost because of offshoring. That might get someone's attention. They obviously don't care about our privacy.
MTSO Greed #1!
.
Greed is an addiction too. sm
Not all addictions are to intoxicating chemicals. Greed is definitely an addiction. And the hallmark of addiction to anything is that it never satisfies, but just creates a need for more and more. We seem to be living in an age of pure greed. It is unfortunate.
I really feel for you. It's amazing what greed does
to a person.

My neighbor went through a lot with her siblings. She told us all the details because we're like family. We've lived next door to each other for years. Her siblings were upset and embarrassed when they found out we knew.

I had to watch the house constantly for her when she wasn't there since she knew I worked from home.

Good luck and be careful.
Amen! AHDI Greed #2

If greed is their motto, they'll sell

ditto - greed and corruption there big time. nm

It's just killing him..
to see you so good off and doing wonderful without him. Men cant handle the thought that we don't always need them!

Hope all stays well!
Killing is killing!!! Does not mean they cannot
In the Old Testament the law was an eye for an eye.

The Bible is the ultimate authority and it is ours to obey and take at its Word...not to question or rationalize it to make it fit the circumstance we want out of! Just because others kill or have killed doesn't WE don't have to obey! Bottom line...We have to stand before God for one day, and all of the above men had to also!
killing snakes
If an animal is endangering my life, of course, I will probably have to kill it, snakes included, of which we have many out here.  If I was on an island, just me and a chicken, of course, I would eat it.  My take is that, as long as there is other healthier food, I will continue to eat that, veggies, grains, fruits, and leave the animals to live their lives.
What do you think abortion is, if it is not killing?
does that mean it is okay? Even the law of our land will not allow you to kill a man...but a baby...or fetus as they so lovingly refer to it as...is perfectly acceptable to kill! Hmmmm...something is wrong here!
you can't blame them for killing themselves to get here,
and adding further insult to injury, we put everything in their language. however, thanks to our system of welfare, too many US citizens refuse to work the hard labor jobs, so we "need" the illegals.
killing grass?
Good question, considering I have a new home and just now have grass starting to show through all this dirt around our house. The last thing I want to do is invest $900 in grass seed and fertilizer only to kill it. Please advise.
Yes, and Unions are killing GM and the like.

you are killing yourself to support HIS lifestyle? sm

How many jobs does your husband work? You're crazy to keep up the hectic schedule you are on right now.  Is money really worth you working yourself to death? If that's the only reason you are looking for more work, tell your husband to get another job.  Sounds to me like you do more than your share!

My left elbow is killing me! SM

Stretching out my arm and picking up a reference book is agony.  An easy solution is to move all my books to my right side, but is this caused by MTing or sleeping on it (I almost always sleep on my left side with that arm folded under my pillow) or combo of the two?  I've typed about "elbow cradles"...do they help?  Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Chickadee

about the same as killing all birds over the bird flu sometimes...
you have to do what you have to do. If there is mad cow disease, everyone kills cows. If there is bird flu, we kill birds. If there is rabies, we kill dogs. Any epidemic in the making has to be stopped before the epidemic starts. Oh, and the West Nile virus, we kill mosquitos. The only thing with the deer ticks, we aren't forced to kill deer, people do that for sport. lol
it seems like you're killing THIS board.

killing of dogs in China

Please click on the following link to help stop the killing of the dogs in China in such a horrible inhumane way.  Thank you.

My back is killing me today. What do
you do for back pains?  Any suggestions....
he is not American on what was an American site
What we post, jobs posted, and those who are posting jobs have no way of knowing it is off shore because he is hiding it - what a great way to get more of our jobs - not sure why this does not bother you. But as an American it bothers me

veggie too--can't stand killing of any sort--sm
too much of it is *accepted* these days, and it is just the thing that has put this world into the position it is in today. It just seems that if someone does not like something...kill it. I don't care if it is a third world country or not, they know right from wrong in their hearts, no matter what *religion* or *tradition* they have been taught. Lord, where are you now??? JMO
every living breathing being has a soul and killing --
is wrong no matter if human or animal. by your conception of things, then if you have the flu and are causing an epidemic, we should do away with you too, to protect the rest of us??
TouchScreens? Using this mouse is killing my hand
Does anyone here use a touchscreen monitor?  do those actually exist and work?  I've never seen one.  It takes forever to use the mouse, plus it hurts my hand a bunch
Guess you do not believe that it is a disease, huh?

There isn't a disease that causes someone to take that first drink, first

cigarette, or first hit of whatever.  I also think a lot of times "disease" is an excuse and not a real issue.   I come from a very long line of alcoholics on both sides of my family.  As as result I feel I have a predisposition to becoming an alcoholic, so I choose not to drink.   Alcoholism may be a disease in some people, but it is curable.  HIV/AIDS is a disease too that is 100% preventable.   I don't have a lot of sympathy for people who refuse to take responsibility for their actions and want to blame everyone else.

I don't believe it starts as a disease. I

fully believe it starts as something to pass the time or forget problems, but then the body becomes dependent and then it causes disease.

Leyden's disease

is a clotting disorder occasion by an abnormality of Factor 5, according to the dictator, but I cannot get a solid spelling of this disease.  Anyone out there heard of it?

Thanks!!!

infectious disease
I may possibly be starting an infectious disease account soon.  I have already ordered a Stedmans dictionary, but was wondering if anybody has done any work in this field and have any advice, websites to check, etc. on this specialty.  I want to gain as much knowledge as I can before starting.  I appreciate any input.
Ah that must be the disease people have when the MDs can't
figure it out! They would NEVER say they don't know, right? I'm going through something similar. I know I have something going on, been sick for a few months, and never was before, and I mean, really never like this. They found a few little things so far but this MD really just can't figure it out, unfortunately. So, onto the next. I am confident that at some point I will find a good diagnostician that really knows their stuff, if any still exist. Hope you will too :)
I have Crohn's disease and have
had blockages after eating foods hard to digest.  My Crohn's is locasted in terminal ileum.  Had 2 feet of small intestine removed in 1998, but it came back in same place.  It is very narrow and scarred in this area again.  I have to be very careful about what I eat.  I don't eat anything that has a peeling on in unless I peel it first.  When I have a blockage, I have pain and then vomiting until it finally goes through on its own.  Have been to ERs many times.  It could rupture, and that would be very bad.  If he has an intestinal blockage, it is very serioius.
My right elbow is killing me. Feels like the muscle has torn.

I knew about the Killing Oprah On Her Couch thingy...
but never saw him get squirted! He simply was not happy with that man, wuz he? Ah, fame and fortune - it must B a drag!
Whine alert! 8 cents/line is killing me! :(

I have 17 years experience.  I'm an IC, was getting paid 10 and 11 cents a line for the last decade or so.  After that work basically dried up, I started looking for more work.  No work to be had at at 10 cents a line anymore, rarely find anything even at 9 cents.

Decided to take an 8 cents/line job.  Hey, I was gettin' hungry.  I swear....I type, type, type, type, seems like all day and all night and still not making the money I need to pay my bills and eat!

I know, I know, people justify 8 cents a line by saying hey if you can do 200 lph, that's $16 an hour.  Yeah, that's great for those who aren't used to making up to $30+ an hour for the past 8 to 10 years!  Man, I'm soooooooo tired of typing, so burned out, just very unhappy.

I can see now how some people are happy with MT and some people aren't, just depends on what you've been used to compared to what you get now.  Sad.

I really don't have any other skills to do anything else, and I'm dying here as far as finances, killing my hands and other body parts trying to make money at this 8 cents a line...maybe could've done it 15 years ago when I was younger but just not able to type like a demon day and night anymore.

Let it be known that this is the end of my vent. I have no idea what I'm going to do

OT-Anyone have polycystic kidney disease?

I have just recently learned I have polycystic kidney disease (my mother died of kidney failure) and the cysts are on my right kidney, adrenal gland and on recent CT, (only two months from my first one), I have now developed cysts on my liver too. The kidney cysts are bleeding. :( I have daily right-sided aching and back pain. My right kidney is deformed and I have reflux on the right as well as kidney damage from childhood.

My whole illness started out about eight months ago as benign paroxysmal positional vertigo and it was horrible with nausea, anorexia due to that, and significant weight loss. I had two Epley maneuvers that corrected the vertigo. A CT of the abdomen and pelvis was done and that is when the first cysts on the kidney were discovered which I was told were not concerning in someone in their 50s. In the meantime, I had started eliminating a couple of my Rx meds and the nausea stopped, and so I felt they were the cause of my nausea which in a sense I feel could still be true but perhaps more due to not metabolizing the meds appropriately due to kidney and/or liver problems but I do not know that yet. I do not see a urologist until 09/07 and will find out more then.

It is my understanding that this is a hereditary/genetic disorder and there is no cure and progression to kidney failure is quite high by the time you are 60 and I am 52.

I was just wondering if anyone else has this or knows someone who does and what info they may be willing to share.

Thanks so very much. :)

Does the patient have Paget's disease? If so,
that could explain prescribing it twice weekly.
