fixed on their legs?  Wondering which is better - laser or injections?  These are not varicose.

Hemorrhoids and spider veins, too!
LOL
patent shotty veins vs patency of the shotty veins

They are nit-picking us to death here at work.  Granted the dynamics of the job is changing, but the line count we are supposed to attain does not allow for that.  They cannot have both a high line count and looking EVERYTHING up on the electronic chart to double check for accuracy.

My question now is....the doctor always says "patent shotty veins".  Now with their QA they are telling me it is "patency of the shotty veins".  Now I do not feel comfortable changing stuff around.  Which is right?

I would type, "Patent, shotty veins." - sm
I think your QA is wrong on this one. 'Patency of the shotty veins' sounds like 'shotty veins' are a specific branch of vein, whereas 'shotty' is actually describing the veins, which have nodules on them resembling shot (i.e., birdshot, shotgun pellets, etc. Kind of like BB's.) So put a comma between 'patent' & 'shotty', as both describe the veins.
spider?
When I was a kid, I got bit by a spider.  Never saw the spider but woke up with a blister with a red circle around it.  Went to the doctor and he said it was a spider bite.  Dont know what kind of spider.

Actually, a brown recluse has a violin shape on it. I have had several in my house in the last two weeks and Orkin finally came yesterday morning and sprayed. I am glad you at least have regular house spiders! These things are pretty nasty and move fairly quickly. So far, I have killed everyone that I have seen and hopefully with Orkin coming, I won't see anymore. Anyway, about the doc, I think he should have been a little more careful and at least tried to find out what kind of spider bit you as the brown recluse releases poison that eats away at the flesh. Hope you heal up quickly!

Good, glad you're okay. I do not like their eyes. As if they're not freaky looking enough, then they have weird eyes as well! lol
I agree withj LowlyMT: patent, shotty veins.........
from One Look dictionary:

'patent' as adjective: clearly apparent or obvious to the mind or senses.

I would put a comma too:

patent, shotty veins.

This means that the veins are clearly visible (patent) and shotty (having small nodules), like shotty lymphnodes.'

patent used as an adverb to shotty, this would then be...

patently shotty veins, without a comma.

That "one little spider" probably had
a nest somewhere (which they protect feverishly) that hatched. They are good hiders and very resilient making them difficult to "terminate". I would call an exterminator and either ask for suggestions on how to get rid of them, or let them do it. They are poisoness, you know. I have seen first hand what their venomous bite can do to a person, and even though it may not be life threatening, it is not a pretty site. Good luck.
Spider bite?
Has anyone every been bit by a spider? Isn't an ER doctor suppose to be able to identify a poison spider.  I got bit yesterday on the left thumb.  I would not have worried about it if was anywhere else or the fact that I was alone with no wheels.  My husband had just left to go to a ball game.I called him to tell him that I had just been bitten (He hates spiders, he had been bitten by one and spent two weeks on crutches).  He comes home to take me to the emergency room along with the dazed spider.  The doctor could not tell what kind of spider it was.  My husband had looked it up on the net and it seemed to be a brown recluse.  The ER doctor said there was really nothing to do except give me a Benadryl (I never take medicine or go to the doctor) and antibiotics to take if I see an infection starting and kept me for 30 minutes in case of a reaction.  In the meantime, my husband (a science teacher) goes to his classroom (school is next to the hospital) to put the spider under the microscope and do more research on the spider.  As it turns out, the spider was not a brown recluse but a brown house spider often mistaken for one.  The only way to tell the difference is the number of eyes.  LOL.  Anyway, I felt so foolish and because taking the Benadryl was out like a light the rest of the afternoon and evening.  Wasted the rest of my day.
sounds like a spider's watch. LOL
don't know...
