I don't think any big corporations appreciate

Have you tried working for a smaller MTSO or a local doctor?  I am still relatively new to this field and I definitely respect your experience and vast knowledge, and I can see why you would be frustrated!

I would think someone with your skills would be appreciated in a smaller business environment.  I know you have tons of experience and have probably worked for different companies, but if you quit transcribing and then someday decide to come back I hope you find a place where you are appreciated.  Large companies tend to see you as JUST A NUMBER no matter how talented you are or how much money you are raking in for the company.

I see so much negativity on here about the bigger companies, and I'm actually grateful for it because I know to be very wary of certain companies in the future, but I feel bad for the shabby treatment people receive and can't help but think they would be treated better in a smaller company that actually knows your name and your skill set.  I received the best pay and most respect when I worked in an actual doctor's office.  At least the physician told me how great I was and how much she appreciated my work.  She knew how valuable quality and good turnaround time was and how important it was to get letters to referring doctors in order to get the docs to refer more patients to her, etc.

I don't know if I'll stick with transcription either, but since my kids are so young I am saving over $1000 a month not having to pay daycare, so right now it's worth it to me.  In the future who knows?  I might get fed up too.  Good luck in your decision, and I truly hope you find a job that appreciates you!

You do have to feel sorry for the corporations, though. SM
It must be disheartening for them to find out that the greedy Americans won't take their back-breaking jobs for $2/hour. It must have come as a shock to learn that the education in Harlem is not quite as good as the education their child got at boarding school. And he deserves the multimillion dollar bonus he makes because he's the one who has to lay awake at night wondering where they will have to offshore to next since rumor has it that the greedy Indians are soon going to be asking $10/day...and that would be disastrous to the poor CEOs plans for a summer house in Gstaad. Besides, American's can't afford AT&T stuff anymore anyway, so why should he worry about us?
The MEDIA is owned by 5 mega corporations
and they have an agenda almost if not more devious than certain politicians...

Remember the MEDIA is owned by FOR-PROFIT corporations. Corporations like this have a LEGAL responsibility to make as much money as possible for shareholders. What does that mean? It means they choose sensational garbage over substance to "report" - and in the case of this so-called war, they BENEFIT the reads PROFIT directly and indirectly, so they purposely censor the information that gets in the way of true public awareness.

If ANYone sincerely believes the media is our friend, they have not done their homework. Don't take my word for it: Google "who owns the media" and see any number of studies showing WHICH corporations own the major news corporation.

GE make "bring good things to life" BUT they ALSO make bombs (WMD) - AND they own NBC. Connect the dots yourself, and consider asking your reps in Congress for legislation to clean up the media.

Yes, there are crack reporters who are DYING to report the truth, but they are EDITED out by their supervisors who follow the agenda of the corporate bosses.

The facts are out there if you look for them.
