Need some help with Dictaphone C-phone programming the foot pedal..... sm

I have a coworker that needs to program her Dictaphone foot pedal.  The foot pedal does not stop or start the dictation from what I understand.  It is a used unit with no manual.  I had a C-phone years ago but do not ever remember having to program my pedal.  Thanks in advance!

Dictaphone foot pedal with medquist
Does anyone know if Dictaphone DictaMatic foot control will work with DocQscribe?  I can't get it to work.  Do I need to buy a VEC?
Dictaphone has a dedicated foot pedal
that only "works" with Dictaphone software (Transnet, extext) - others can be universal (i.e. - plays all the other files). I have 3 - 1 for Transnet, 1 for regular voice files and 1 for microcassette recorder - my foot space is a mess!
Dictaphone foot pedal question..sm

I will be working on Dictaphone platform and the company sent me the foot pedal for it.  However, the cord for it is basically like a phone cord but my internet cable is taking up the spot where I would plug in my foot pedal to the back of my computer.  Is there an adapter I can use for this?

Thanks

Foot pedal for Dictaphone Transnet
Can I use a USB foot pedal with Dictaphone Transnet. I was told it has to be the foot pedal with what looks like a phone cord used in conjunction with a USB adapter.
Which head set to be used with Dictaphone foot pedal??
I know you have to have an adapter to use the Dictaphone foot pedal and software, but do you need a special head set or will any head set work?  Thanks!
I was told since Dictaphone is Transnet only that foot pedal could be used
Like you, I already have 2 foot pedals - my desk floor is a maze of wires! Post if you find out differently, but again I was told had to be Dictaphone Transnet foot pedal.
Dictaphone Transnet foot pedal questions.
I'm going to be installing Dictaphone Extext program and accessing it through the Transnet part. I've tried figuring out whether I need a "special" Transnet foot pedal or not. Some earlier posts say yes and some say no, that they just use either a 9-pin or a 15-pin. So, I'm perplexed on what I currently have which is both of those and with which I also have USB adapters will work or if I need to order something from Dictaphone. Any help would be appreciated. I also wonder if possibly whether or not it works is due in part to your particular computer.
I have a Dictaphone Transnet foot pedal for sale on the classifieds board

If you know anyone who is looking for one, please tell them about it.

C-phone foot pedal
I just purchased a C-phone and cannot get the foot pedal to work. I've tried using the code in the manual, but it is as if the C-phone doesn't recognize it and just "dials" the keys I've entered. I was able to program my headset just fine. Any suggestions?
C-phone foot pedal replacement
Thanks...I had made a crude connection myself with electrical tape years ago for a higher volume without the headset, but it didn't work too well. The one from Radio Shack may work much better. I'm sure the sound recorder would have shortcut keys for fast-forward and rewind, but I'm not sure where to find sound recorder on Windows Professional. I'll try to find it now and make a shortcut on the desktop. Thanks again!
C phone foot pedal is not working??
Any suggestions or is it just bad wiring???? Thanks so much.
Using a DVI system C phone. How do I get my foot pedal... sm

to automatically back up a bit?   The instructions I have for my DVI are very limited and I can find nothing with regards to automatic backup.  There is no phone number (got this phone long time ago) to contact for help.  Was hoping someone here could help.  Thanks!

C-phone comes with it's own foot pedal and pluges
into the left side of it. Not a standard plug, ether.
My foot pedal is button #15 on the C-phone, I think it depends on what your co. has programmed. nm

Converting C-Phone to keyboard versus foot pedal rewinding and fast-forwarding
Hi there:

I have some as-yet-undiagnosed neuropathy that began with my eighth injection of inteferon for hepatitis C. I initially had severe numbness from the waist down (felt like tourniquets on my legs) that is now controlled somewhat with high-dose Neurontin, but now I have moderate to severe pain in the lower back and buttocks if I sit for very long. I'm on a mild narcotic/analgesic, but I still have pain and discomfort long before it is time to take the next dose. I'm currently only earning about 60-80% of my normal income.

My question is this: Does anyone out there know of a way to convert the foot pedal functions of the C-phone to a keyboard, other than having an integrated system, which the hospital I work for does not have?

There must be some way for handicapped people, like those in a wheelchair, to do medical transcription without the use of a foot pedal, but my guess is that you would have to do away with the Dictaphone dication system completely, which I doubt my employer would do unless I threatened some sort of legal action.

Programming a dictaphone
I have a dictaphone, model 0421, which my company would like me to program to work with their Lanier system.  I have no idea on how to do this.  I tried e-mailing dictaphone and could not understand the instructions at all.  I am able to dial into their system however, my foot pedal works backwards.  This would not be a major problem, but my fastforward and rewind do not work at all which is a real problem.  Any ideas?

Programming C-phone

Hi everyone,

I purchased a Dictaphone C-phone off of EBay; however, it did not come with a manual. I am totally lost. Are they all the same when it comes to signing a job off, leaving a job open, fasting forwarding a job, etc.? Is this something you have to program into the phone? If so, can someone tell me how to program my phone for these different requests?

Programming C phone

The service you work for should be able to tell you the keys to push to sign off a job, etc. However, here is a link to the Dictaphone answer desk for more detailed instructions.

If you are talking about programming a c-phone
someone posted the directions a while back.  I have the directions, I cannot find them at the momment but if you will look and the 3 gray buttons below the screen push the one that says progm.  I believe from there it is self explanatory.  HTH a little.
c-phone headset programming

I got this on 06/01/07 from MT Stars - here it is for you to program

Make sure the Dictaphone is plugged in and also into the wall phone jack.

Notice the display screen at the top of the Dictaphone, 3 gray buttons under the display.

Press the left gray button under the word PRGM.

The display will now read

PROGRAM

KEYS ID/TIME TEL

Press the gray button below the word KEYS.

The display will now read SELECT PROGRAM KEY.  At this point push one of the 16 black keys below the display on the telephone keypad.  If you are programming your headset for example, select any one of the 16 black keys that you want.  Press that black key.

The display will now say ENTER NUMBER.  For headsets programming #*11 (that is, the POUND key, the STAR key and then the number 11)

Now press the MULTIPLY KEY to the right of the telephone keypad.  This key says SELECT on top of it and has an X multiply function on it.

Press the STOP key to exit programming function.  The STOP key is located second from the right on the top row of the keys on the bottom of the C-phone.

Hope this helps.  I printed this out and this has been so useful, especially when unplugging the C-phone during electrical storms for a period of time and you lose the programming.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL

Programming C phone in general
C-PHONE PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS

Note: The C phone mapping system may be different for each facility. Ask the supervisor/owner for the programming keys needed for each function. Sometimes you may find them on the face of the phone, under the plastic cover. There are 16 buttons available to program (1-8 down the left side and 9-16 down the right side)

You will use the function keys under the display window and the Select button (X) next to the number key pad.

On the C phone screen, there are 3 buttons below the display window. The messages in the columns above the 3 buttons are:

Time Date
Progm Msg Directory

Select the Progm button and the follow screen appears:

Progrm

Keys ID/Time Tel

Note: Put some thought into the Keys that are convenient or work quickly. For example, button 9 (top right side) may be the button to dial into the system; button 10 may be the ID number you key in to access work, etc.

To program the keypad, press PROGM—KEYS

The screen asks you to select a program key. Chose one of the 16 buttons.

The screen will ask you if you want to Revise the information there, press one of the 3 buttons in the message screen. We will select YES. Then enter your ID number or dial-in number etc followed by the #.

We now need to SELECT this choice as the final step for programming this button. The SELECT is on the right side of the phone number pad, the “X” key. Each time you program a key, the last step will be to press the SELECT key to end that function.

If you make a mistake during the programming process, just press the STOP key on the C phone pad and start over.

For each subsequent function you want to program, follow the instructions again from

This would be just a "regular" 3-pedal pedal and not the Dictaphone pedal. nm

A wave pedal is a foot pedal that connects to either
serial port, game port, or USB depending on the software needed with it.   You have to download the work via the internet and most companies still require high-speed internet, though some allow dial-up or satellite.   A pedal costs about $70, though can find on e-bay cheaper.  You can download ExpressScribe for free to use with the foot pedal unless the company requires a different software program.
wav pedal is a foot pedal that plugs into your

computer so you can transcribe wav files.  There are many other formats such as DSS, but they are all digital voice files.

I don't think brand of foot pedal is important, but need to know if it is game port, serial port, or USB and how many pins it has.   The majority of them are made by Infinity in some foreign country, but sold by many companies.

WAV pedal vs. USB port foot pedal

PLEASE HELP! Are wav pedals and USB port foot pedals one in the same?  I've only transcribed from audio tapes, and all this is new to me.  Thank you for your help.

I also have a USB foot pedal. Do most companies use the USB pedal or SM

will I need a 9-pin or a 15-pin.  Also, which transcription software for playing back audio files is the best?  I've used one that was a fee download, I think it was called Bytescribe or somethingl ike that.  Does that work for most all files or should I look into purchasing something like Start/Stop or GearPlayer?

Oh and does anyone know where I can get Microsoft Word or Office Suite for a reasonable (I'd say cheap, but cheap usually means bootleg) price?

Sorry to ask so many questions, but it's been a while since I've worked for a national.  Before the hopsital job I'm being laid off from, I worked in the office at a hospital.  So I've been out of the loop so to speak.

Thanks guys.

Dictaphone C-phone question. . . sm
Hello and thanks in advance to those who read and/or post any helpful information on this.

Have a new account using C-phone to access dictation. Volume is increasing and may have to hire someone to help me with the work. Is there a way to pull from the C-phone and create digital voice files to upload to an FTP for another MT to transcribe or would I need to just purchase another C-phone for that MT to use?

Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

Where is the best place to purchase dictaphone or C-phone?

Also, I am very unfamiliar with the different types of equipment out there.  I have worked for only 1 company in 7 years and use their equipment.  Can you tell me if there is a difference in the 2 pieces.  Also, I used to use a Lanier station when I first bega, would this be considered a dictaphone?
