People either love it or hate it. I personally love it

but I know a lot of people say you cannot make any money on it and will not work on it. I do okay. I'm obviously not getting rich but I am making a living. I found it easier than Dictaphone and faster such in downloading and uploading job and you only have to log on one system and not like Dictaphone where you have to log onto the VPN and then log onto the program. It's always worth a try, but yes, the biggest complaint I hear is that no one can make a living and the cpl isn't that great.

love, love, love the show. hate american idol. this show is for real.
the only reason i entertained watching it was because of mark burnett and as usual he has such genious casting and editing. btw, don't know who anything about "metal" music but these performers make me like it. love marty and jd as performers. HATE JESSICA. susie is so nice and so emotional. it seems they all support each other and enjoy each others skills. regarding ty and bob marley, ty was excellent but he also lucked out on the song! bob marley was genious too and his music is very easy to listen to. i don't like 3/4 of what the others are given to sing but their performances make me love the music. dave navarro shines on this show, very gracious for the most part and letting the contestants down easy when they have to leave. he was great last night with brandon (?). sweet, sweet show. i am so impressed with everyone involved.
Love psych notes. HATE, HATE, HATE, HATE,
HATE ER notes.
Love cardiology, hate podiatry. Hate discharges, but

I personally love IT
Unless you really don't mind memorizing your abbrevations, I would highly recommend IT. It will go through all your files in a flash and create glossaries with words and phrases that you would probably never be able to do on your own in years. You don't have to memorize anything (unless you happen to name a norm a particular name, etc, that you use often). As you type, the words/phrases appear below your document on the screen. There is a learning curve but well worth it I feel.
Yes it is! And I personally love it!!
Email if you want more info!
Personally I love VR but there are others who
do not. I can make a decent salary. Others will fuss and tell you to find something else. I think it is a person to person thing. I can make a good salary. Others will say they do not. Really just a toss up here.
Personally, I love my crockpot...
I just made chili last night, best we ever had, really.

Since I did not have the money for the one you mentioned, with the timer and everything, I opted for a $15 one in a dollar store, and the beauty is the pot itself. No matter how bad the food sticks on the edges, it comes off with almost just a wipe, maybe a quick soak first, if real bad.

A friend of mine uses her for cider, to keep it warm. Mine does have a warmer, and the crock pulls out, I would at least suggest that. I had an 'original' crockpot (which I really loved) but what a chore to clean it as the electric unit was connected...

Anyway, a definite must in my kitchen. Also, we have a small place that heats up in the summer, so many times rather than use the oven I have used that little potassium for all kinds of things.

Best $15 I ever spent.

It smells the house up great in the fall, too. Even though I am home and can use the oven in the cooler months, even my boyfriend says he loves the smell of the food cooking, especially during football! I do some barbecue pork or whatever for him. (I do not eat meat). I did a meatless chili last night, then just added ground beef with my boyfriend's bowl and mixed it in. Awesome!

Not sure why people even bother to post when they are not interested in the topic, but just had to say I love my CP!

You could probably get the lid replaced, by the way...

Good luck.
Personally, I love this profession....
and make a good living doing it. It took a few years and some job-hopping to find the right fit, but now I really look forward to going to work (all the way up the steps my 2nd floor office!) and love the fact that I learn something new every day. My current employer (DeVenture) DOES treat me with respect and everyone there makes me feel like an important part of the company. I'm not getting rich, but make a decent salary and could not be happier. This is career #3 for me (#1 had a big salary and I did not enjoy it). We all set priorities that are important to us personally, so it all depends on what you are looking for, I think.
Personally, I love hearing stuff like that!

I love it when I can hear if they are having a great day or a crappy day--I really love the angry ones, 'cause, well, I'm mental.  You can almost always tell when someone got laid or really needs too....or maybe that's just me and my creative imagination at work again.  Either way, it's so nice to have the change of pace and a reminder they they are people too!

Personally, I love working at home, but my
kids were already in school when I started 10+ years ago. I worked part-time at home in the evening when they were small, but my ex was there to help with them then. I would think it would be very distracting to work a full day with small ones, unless you were working an p.m. shift when they were asleep, but then there is no time for hubby. But then again, there are many who do.
I personally love the speedmachines DocQScribe
I work for a small company that uses this platform and if I stay "focused" obvious I'm not now LOL - once I get all of my short cuts set up, I can easily type close to 350 lines in 1 hour. Good luck in finding a new position!
the DEP -- i love it. Would hate to use anything else.

Love the pay, hate the job
Anybody feel this way. Apparently I am way overpaid, so even if I apply at other places no one will pay me this amount. I don't hate the job, I am bored to tears with it and the industry as a whole. I am just so burned out with everything. I can't remember the last time I took a vacation (a real vacation). I have my certification in interior design and would like to venture into this business, just don't know where to begin. I've done one home so far, so that would be the only reference I have for a client of the work I've done. Also, how do you keep a full-time job and try to start something new at the same time? I am so stressed out that there are days I can't see my reports because my eyes are filled with tears. Any ideas would be appreciated. You guys are the best (and the best board in my opinion). Thank you.
Love being an MT--hate the company I
work for most days. I have left several times and find myself coming back. I have decided to stay because being at home far outweighs being out with all the stupid people!
I'm with Penguin, love my job, hate my pay! nm

Love/hate relationship
There are so many things I love about this job, working on my own, being at home, no office politics, better money than I can make anywhere locally, (I live in a rural community) can work in my jammies, flexibility, intellectually challenging...but then again so many things I dislike too.. no appreciation, being squeezed out by technology, not being paid what you're worth, forcing yourself to be self-disciplined, sitting for hours, hands aching, no respect from doctors or the public (Hey, I can type so can I get a job doing what you do??? UGH!), ESLs and poor dictators... it's hard to say which side of me wins out on most days.. It's a job, like any other job, good days/bad days... suits my lifestyle for now so I'll keep at it.. but always keep my eyes open for the future.
Love Clinton, hate Bush
Rather have a lover of women in the WH than a lover of war, death, dividing the country, alienating the world, destroying the environment, allowing gases to rise, water to be polluted as he cuts back regulations for businesses, cutting the rights and protections for the middle class, on and on and on and on and on....Bush is a disaster..a freak..a sociopath..check it out on the internet..doctors have posted articles that Bush is a sociopath..and I agree, my four years of psychology in college lead me to this conclusion, never said anything but now Ph.D.s are saying it too.., LOLOLOLOLOL
Love the softwares but hate the company.

I have a love-hate thing with Vonage.
Can't beat the price but yeah, quality is hit or miss and if cable goes down, you're SOL.  We have a TracPhone for backup.  I live in a backwards land where it's considered long distance to call the next down over so Vonage has been a huge bonus to the maxed-out budget, but I swear the cable company, who has their own version of Vonage, does something to the bandwith to frig it up in the hopes that we will get so disgusted that we switch to their pricier alternative.
so many people was wishy-washy nowadays...love to see people make
a stand for what they believe in...

it is kind of wierd those statements have to be made in the first place but guess we are an ever-transitioning country and are still young. so many different beliefs yet not much tolerance.

I found your post respectful, and right on as to how you feel. it does not seem that difficult to sift through to read and respond to messages someone might not care for...
I love Dog -- Thought I would hate it, but really like it, same goes for that new show Miami Ink, -

don't know which channel --

Yep that's it, 4000. Love, love love the zoom
But I feel like a dork typing...every time I try to type But it is coming out as Nut!
People who use them love them. sm
The learning curve is wicked (I hear 2 weeks). I opted for the Maxim instead. I hear the contoured is great for those with RSI.
I love people like you
Thank you for not turning around and taking him right back. He's a very, very lucky dog. I wish I could rescue a pound puppy as well but husband says no. We've rescued too many cats over the years, and right now still have 4. We had 7 at one point but lost 2 to old age and one to a heart attack at the age of 8, all in the last 2 years.  If we didn't have 4 middle to old age cats in the home, I'd be at the shelter right now.  I love knowing that there are people like you out there.
I love it when people say to me...... sm
Oh you work at home, your so lucky to have such an EASY job, especially when you can take off any time and work anytime.

Easy! Gimme a break! Easy!

This job some days is not easy! Especially when you have doctors who eat, burp, belch, mumble, or just plain and simple cannot speak, yacking in your ears all day long!

I'd like to slap a few of my friends who think this "job" is so easy.

I don't refer to it as a job either - I had a friend tell me along time ago, being an MT is not a job, its a way of life.

Oh, and for taking off and working whenever I want - hmmmmm - when does that happen! I work a schedule just like someone working in an office.

Okay - I had to vent! I feel better now!! LOL!!!
Ah, I'm a shy only child too, but I love being around other people. Keeps

I love using that one. People look at me like I am stupid! nm

I think I understand, now if people love VR
they either are lying, are management or newbies right? Seems like the chickens have come home to roost. You are talking about folks who don’t hate their jobs. Let me think about this. I did not see any encouragement about people last week trying to tell about working on VR, only you are a plant, management, lying, and on and on.
Why don't people practice peace and love, just
zz
But the secret is most people love oncology.
I'm not sure why, but it is more interesting than most specialties and not usually the downer you'd expect. I think it's just the terminology and (in my experience) very smart, decent dictators. Even the ESLs are understandable because the terms are so long. Four syllables to pronounce means 4 clues, LOL.
I love the way everyone things VR people are the slow ones
I type about 140 wpm and averaged on straight typing over 2000 lines per day. The hospital was outsourced and VR took over. I love VR and why do you assume that only slow typists like? I love it, our system is not crap and now I average above 500 or more lines per hour. Don’t know where people get off talking about the slow ones. You are assuming.
I love to see people exercise their minds (and their rights)...will check it out...
Thank you, for sharing...

After all, if no one would have stood up years ago, we would still be called the 'typing pool' and making probably $7/hour, AND answering phones, filing, etc.

AAMT did have a huge role in that happening, but I have not seen them do anything for the American MT in a very long time.

According to the Advance Health mag (which is turning into a 'rag' in my opinion), their latest article is how MTs with disabilities are now being trained in INDIA...and elsewhere overseas, and just how wonderful and joyous that all is - !?#@$#@

Sisters, it is TIME we do something and take a stand.
Why do so many people LOVE operative notes? I see posts about it all the time...
how they make good money on them, they could do them all day, feel cheated when they don't get them? I have been doing this for years and years and still kind of groan when I see them come up on my screen. Fill me on the secrets and maybe I won't whine so much when I do them. Thanks gal!
I love it too - love doing my nails 5 hours a day and staying awake

Love NOT getting paid while sitting doing my nails too.  It's a real turn on.

I tell all my friends to try it -- sit in front of your computer while you have no money to pay your rent and instead do your nails, you get a real buzz down in the pit of your stomach.

Also LOVE LOVE ESCRIPTION and make good money but...
Can I ask how you sit there for 8 hours. Lately, I'm having a motivation problem. When I focus, I can rack up the lines, but lately, I get so easily distracted. My mind wanders and I struggle to get my lines. Any tips on how you stay productive who do you work for?? I work for Transcend.
Good for you, I love people who rescue homeless pets. I take in cats myself

Each to his own. Personally, I hate the sm
native born ones who like to play with the language, cannot get enough of their own voice. Verbose, tedious. Give me an ESL any day, who has limited English language, and always says it the same way every time. Have to get used to it, but I like the accents. French is the only accent that throws me, but luckily I get Indian, Korean, Chinese, most of the time. Very easy to hear and do. I think you just have to have an ear for it.
I went back in house and love it. I love not being
secluded. I was working in my PJs, less organized and feel much better now that I get up and dress for work and see people (even those in traffic aren't so bad anymore). I find that I have more of a life now, and my family says that I spend more time with them now.

Working at home served its purpose for a long time; I was ready to go out into the world again now that I have no little ones at home.
BD WONG! I love him! I love all CSI and Law and Orders!
I am so addicted. I actually schedule my job and family around the shows LOL.
Love love love my chair
The arms can be lowered so they won't be in your way, I don't know about the tilt limiter. But I bought my off ebay about 6 years ago and can't do without it. No I do not think you can find another chair that even compares to the aeron, changed my working life completely, no sore back or butt. You won't regret it, but you will if you go for a cheap imitation.
LOL. I love it. I also love the song sm
I wouldn't take nothing for my journey now. Miss the Happy Goodmans!
Repeat after me: I love my job, I love my job. :) nm

You can love a job and still love being home! sm

I got into medical transcription for many reasons.  Yes, one was that I wanted to be home with my children, another was that I wanted to be in the medical field, and yet another was this just fits me.  Medical terminology and grammar are two things that have always come easily to me.  So, this fits.  I can work early, early mornings and late nights when they are asleep.  Also during afternoon naps.  Yeah, doesn't leave a heck of a lot of time for myself, but THAT is a sacrifice I am willing to make, leaving my kids for someone else to raise/care for all day wasn't.

I do not love money but I love what it can buy
for me. I work 4 days a week now and was not bringing home what I wanted every 2 weeks, for some reason that is at least 1,000.00. I just decided to turn up the speed and put my mind to doing at least 3000 lines a day and figured by that should get what I want in the pay line. Worked well for me. I tell people if you want to talk with me call before I go to work, do not let outside influences bother me during my hours. Other than a bathroom break, glass of water, here for the straight 8.
I love Google and I love MTs
Okay, who in their right mind would not only discuss but have passionate opinions about hyphens and apostrophes? I love it!

Anyway, in googling grammar rules I found numerous references that two days' time would not but hyphenated but when used as a modifier like two-day history, it would be.

I remember telling an OB nurse friend of mine about fretting over 38 weeks pregnancy and whether the hyphen belonged in there and she just laughed and said she thinks she would get the point either way. Well harumph!
I don't think most people here hate being MTs. sm
On the contrary I think most truly love the work they do and find it very fulfilling. If you have been in this biz for a long while it has changed, from a one quite highly respected profession with very good compensation (as it should be) to a profession that is thought much less of than years prior, and with that a slow decline in compensation for the professional work that we do.  I think most MTs love the profession, but don't like the decline in wages nor the lack of professional recognition that was the case years ago. Wages have been stagnant or even lowered over the last 10 years. If suddenly MTs were being compensated instead of the norm of 8 cents per line suddenly to 11 cents a line or more the atttitude of the MT would drastically cahnge. No one who does highly skilled and profession work is ever happy watching their skills being demeaned through the years,, although they still may love the work that they do.
I do ops all the time too and HATE them. Why do people like them? sm
Give me a 10 minute discharge, ER, consult, H&P any day. I always wondered why people liked OP notes with all of the different equipment terms and such.
I hate when people ask this question.
It always brings out at least one delusional "I make 100 grand a year doing MT" from the woodwork.

As if everyone is being honest when answering a personal question like this.
** RANT!! ** I hate QA people!

They whine about everything they're sent.   I think we should all boycott QA for a week, send them nothing, and put them out of a job.
