Where did you get Instant Text?
Like Best Buy or somewhere like that?
Instant Text ?
All you have to do is add VENTILATION PERFUSION SCAN to the glossary. Type it in your document the way you want all caps with a colon or not, etc. and highlight it and press Alt and the +/= sign at the same time to add it to the glossary and then the next time you want it type vps but look at the list and pick the one you want all caps or lower case. You can always delete the lower case version if you do not need it. Let me know if you need more info. Good Luck
Instant Text V Pro

I can give you some info on Instant Text V Pro if you'd like.

The most popular features of IT V Pro include the Importer, the Compilation feature, the Includes feature and Continuations.

The Importer takes abbreviation lists from other sources, such as AutoCorrect, and imports them into IT so you can continue using them without having to start creating a new list from scratch.

The Compilation feature is used to create personalized glossaries by scanning saved documents on your computer and pulling out the most frequently used phrases and words to instantly compile a customized glossary in seconds.

The Includes feature allows you to use more than one glossary at a time.

And the Continuations feature is a feature that brings up what you are likely to type next in your sentence. So for example, if you were to type "The patient", IT will then suggest what you are likely to type next based on what you've typed in the past.

For more information on IT, please see the link below for a short product presentation.

With Instant Text, you do not need to buy the program twice. The license agreement is based on a per-user basis, rather than a per-machine basis so you can install it on more than one computer as long as you are the only one using it.

You would not need to set up your expansions twice either. The Instant Text glossaries are simply text files that can be copied onto your other computer. You can also import any abbreviation lists you have created in other programs, such as AutoCorrect, into Instant Text so you can continue using the expansions that you are used to.

I'm looking into buying Instant Text.  From what I'm reading, it seems like a good Expander and doesn't seem complicated.  I have read some discussion on this board about it, but cannot locate that post again.  Would you purchase Instant Text?  If so, I have found it for $189 plus shipping.  Is this a good price?
Instant Text
I bought Instant Text and it has helped me a lot as I could never remember what letters I used for my expansions and with IT I can see them. Go to the sites below for more information. Yes, that is a pretty good site. I paid $10 more at the Instant Text site.

Instant Text and PRD

Did you know that you can hide the "pop-up windows" in Instant Text?

Instant Text's Importer converts PRD lists with a few clicks, and Instant Text V Pro can be set up very close to the way PRD worked.

Just FYI

Instant Text
It was difficult for me to grasp but many find it is not. Once I figured it out, it increased my production markedly.
instant text
I forgot to mention Instant Text also works with Word as well.
INSTANT TEXT!!!
JMO I love this program, have been using it for a year and have doubled my productivity. Took some getting used to but I wouldn't transcribe without it now!!!
Instant Text

I used ShortHand for a few years but my friend recently turned me on to IT.  I ABSOLUTELY love it.  There is no guesswork in remembering your abbreviations for your expansions.  I love how you can ask it to go through your files and it makes expansions based on how frequent you use something.  Now that I have tried both I don't think I would go back to shorthand.  Instant Text is WONDERFUL!!

Instant Text and IE 7
Is anyone working with IT on Internet Explorer 7? I upgraded this morning and IT is not recognizing any open tabbed windows. I tried to call IT tech support but no one answers.
Then you might try Instant Text
Because it won't expand unless you tell it to, preventing those errors. Also, having words and phrases in an Expander prevents "typo" type of errors and incorrect spellings.

Worth every penny!

help!  I am having a problem figuring out how to put the AXIS I-V diagnosis into the expander.  For instance, when I expand AXIS II it comes out to AXIS I on my screen because it moves up the line as I select it from IT running across the screen.  As you can imagine it happens to the other AXIS diagnoses.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Get Instant Text

It works great with EXText and does the 2 spaces after a period and colon thing, too.

I use Instant Text and need to
so I can put it on another computer. I tried a flash drive but it doesn't let me copy -- does that make sense? (it is installed on my other computer - just needing to copy my favorite glossary) I'm confused to say the least----any help? TIA
instant text
I could never get used to it. I just stuck with my word expander. Hated Instant Text myself.
Instant Text
I hate it. Never could get used to using it. I like auto complete in Word and Smartype. I'm just glad I didn't buy IT. I got if from another MT who didn't want it anymore.
I use Instant Text.....sm

It was already set up so that I just type for example y56 and 56-year-old automatically comes up. It would take some time to enter every age if one had to do this manually for the initial setup though!

Instant Text
I have had Instant Text for 5 months (I truly have not mastered it yet!).. and my stats show my production has increased 24%. I typed a total of 3,624,161 keystrokes, but saved myself 876,315 keystrokes. Can you imagine in another 3 months or so?
instant text
is totally memorization free. I have used both ShortHand (although very little) and Instant Text and instant text has my vote hands down. The only thing that I can see shorthand has on instant text is the ability to do things with function keys... like set up your F7 key to spell check or access a web page.
Instant text here too
I have used this for years and have literally 100,000 entries that I do not have to remember. No way could I have all of that in shorthand! I tried ShortHand too, and it is good if you work for a clinic with a couple of doctors. With IT I can have entries taylored to many docs, specialties and dictation styles at the same time. To me, it was worth the money.
Regarding instant text

Have a question regarding putting in instant text. I dont use macros, but we use autotext. We have several radiology macros that need to be put into the computer and am unsure how to go about doing it. Each doc has the same type of reports, CT Head, pelvis, abdomen, or CT chest, then just plain chest, other types of X-ray reports.

What I need to know is a short hand type of Expander to type so that the macros come up. If I put in the name of the doc with say XXXXCT then how can I change it up for each type of dictation.

I hope someone can help me. I am at a loss with this trying to figure out a nice short hand for this.

Instant text
Anyone have Instant Text they are not currently using.  Looking to see if it works for me before spending $200.00.  TIA!
Instant Text
I just got IT. Am still somewhat overwhelmed by it, but they do have a 30-day return policy. They also have a board with help and will support registered uses by phone.
Instant Text
How is Instant Text different from auto-text that is already in MS Word?  I use auto-text all the time and wondering if it would be worth the money to purchase IT?
Instant Text is the way to go

You can have the same shortcuts for multiple expansions. They show up on a list at the bottom of your screen and you choose the one you want.

Example:  tpstsh can equal *the patient states that she had* or *the patient states that she has*

I have recently been refining my drug lists so that I key in something like *vfel* (I use v to precede drug names) for felodipine and then get a list of multiple dosages, so with just vfel I get a list such as below and just have to choose the one I want:

felodipine 5 mg daily

felodipine 10 mg p.o. daily

felodipine 5 mg once a day

Instant Text
I just started using it myself this week. Initially I thought I would hate it, but I am getting to like it more as I use it more. It has some quirks, but once you understand them, they are easy to deal with. I wish I knew of a web site on-line where people have logged on just to discuss it and the issues they have. Maybe someone knows of one outside of posting here on MT Stars.
Instant Text
THANKS!
instant text

Is anyone still up/online that can help me out with IT?  It seems that the longer I use this thing the Slower I am getting.  I recently had to start over with my glossaries because I just got everything so bogged down that I couldnt find anything any more.  Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.  I will be here for a while and can be reached either by email or im on Y with the same name!

TIA

Instant text
Actually before I started using Instant Text, I thought the little box(es) would distract me or drive me crazy. You would be surprised how quickly you get used to it and actually ignore it. However, I actually find the box helpful in case I forget an abbreviation. It will bring up anything close to it. Also Instant Text has a tremendous memory capacity. I make whole templates of doctor reports that I do all the time. I love this word expander. It is by far, in my opinion, the best I have ever used.
Instant Text

I just downloaded Instant Text on my computer today and am confused on how to use it with my Inscribe software (Emdat)...also, I tried opening word and use it there, and I'm not sure how it works...I feel pretty stupid!  I type an abbreviation and see the word in the box below but when I hit the space bar, nothing happens.

Anyone willing to let me know what I may be doing wrong...I would appreciate the input...also, I hit the button that says link..as to link it to either my inscribe or my Word document, but still nothing...I tried reading the directions, but it just simply says type in the initial and hit space....but it's not working.

Thanks!

instant text
I have never used anything but the Expander built into the platform but have often thought about investing in instant text. I am wondering if anyone can tell me the advantage I might gain from use of it. Advice would be really appreciated. Thanks
Instant Text

I admit it...........a little challenged when it comes to IT. Can anyone advise how to create a backspace as for -montth-old?

As always, thanks!
