I've used H&R Block TaxCut
on-line mainly because over the years I've needed "people"  to help with questions on tax issues that were a little complicated, especially last year with a move, partial-residence state taxes, sale of home, etc.  I've not had any complaints with it.  I paid for the highest service last year so I had unlimited access for questions, and the guy was really great, reviewed and signed the tax returns and actually called me with some questions.  I've considered going to TurboTax though in the future because so many seem to like it, just haven't made the switch since I've got everything stored with TaxCut so far.
TurboTax!

I used an accountant for 5+ years, but 450.00 got too expensive.  Used turbo tax last year and loved it, just so easy!!

I used the previous years taxes as a cheat sheet to help me fill out all the forms.

Been using TurboTax since it came out and never

I used TurboTax too, and sm
I have a small transcription business on the side, so I had my W2 to file plus several 9910 misc. income as well.  This was my first year filing taxes with my own business, and it walked me right through it, asking every little detail.  It was great.
Turbotax
Yes it is! I love it. Most of the calculations are done for you. You still need to have some figures in front of you when you use it though, like your home office deductions.
TurboTax software
or one of the other tax programs will lead you through the process and make it very easy if you don't want to pay someone to do your taxes. Just make sure you have all your documentation handy and let the TurboTax program do the rest.
why not try to use turbotax and have a cpa look it over the first year
you can still use turbotax to do your personal taxes and just use a cpa to do your business taxes. I use mine for my corporate taxes but do my personal via Turbotax. It gets better each year as it keeps importing data.
TurboTax is good.

Rental properties and TurboTax sm
Anyone have rental properties and do your own taxes with TurboTax?  We used to have rentals and the accountant did the taxes but charged us like close to $400.00 for our return.  We have since sold everything and this year I did them with TurboTax and really the features.  Now we are thinking of purchasing another small rental and would like to know how TurboTax is with rentals.  Is it easy and pretty much self-explanatory?  Do you like to use it for this or do you have an accountant do it?  Thanks in advance.
I used on-line TurboTax and it was free

TurboTax Home and Business.

I've used TurboTax for self-employment
and never had any troubles at all. I've used them for about 4-5 years now.
Did mine through TurboTax, got it via DD in 7-8 days.

TaxAct and TurboTax will work for self-employed.
No need to buy the expensive business versions of them either. I don't know about TaxCut, but I'm sure it's the same. No, you do not have to prepay your taxes quarterly either. The first year is considered a "trial run" meaning that you need to establish a base pay before they can establish a quarterly tax payment amount due. I've been self-employed for 10 years now and have never made quarterly tax payments because I've never owed.
Used TurboTax & Hubby said go to our tax attorney just to be sure u got everything back you could he
