dressing in black
Don't worry about it. My sister wore black for 15 years when she was teenager and throughout her 20s; one of my nieces starting wearing black when she was in junior high. The niece is an RN and neither of them has ever done anything weird or satanic in their lives.

Some people love black - personally, I avoid it like the plaque, don't even buy black shoes or purses.
Dressing for an Interview
When I was in a class at college that helped you to prepare for getting a job, women were to wear a suit, jacket and skirt with white blouse, and guys a suit and white shirt and tie.

I realize this is just an interview at K-mart but I have heard of others landing a job partially because they made a great impression by dressing up regardless of the position they were interviewing for. My brother was one of those people that did this for an auto parts delivery man position and they told him how impressed they were with his attire. So, I really do think it makes a big statement and difference a lot of times.

Wishing your son the best of luck! I say dress up the best he can, present himself professionally, and he will be more apt to land the job. :)

Stuffed Cabbages recipe inside

Stuffed Cabbages

1 head cooked cabbage
1 lb raw ground beef
1 egg
3 tbsp. dry minced onion
1 cup instant uncooked rice
2 cans tomato soup

Mix the raw ground beef, egg, minced onion, and uncooked rice together in a bowl and set aside.  Peel the cooked cabbage leaves.  Place a oval sized lump of meat mixture on the thick end of a cabbage leaf, roll partly, tuck in the sides and roll up the rest of the way.  Begin placing the rolls in a large pot (dutch oven, spaghetti pot, whatever you call it) and layer.  Spread the tomato soup evenly over the cabbages, pour 1-1/2 cups of water over the soup, cover and simmer about an hour.  Serve with sweet corn bread.

Don't get me started on them - I'm thinking of dressing up for Halloween

Out of her dress today (instead of out of her dressing) but I caught it when proofing.

Bowtie pasta - Zesty Italian dressing,
small bits of sharp cheese, raw broccoli cut up, and tomotoes cut up in tiny squares! So easy and delicious.

Sometimes, I throw a little bit of pepperoni in there for spice.
Guess I'm a killjoy 2. Just never really enjoyed dressing up in costume.

Well I have a chronically stuffed up head, irritated throat and headache and I am getting sick of
it. Dont know if it is allergies or sinuses. I dont want to be taking antibiotics because mostly they dont help but I wish I knew what to use to help this. It gets old and tiresome. My throat feels sore and hurts. I always sound like I have a cold and I dont.
Hated it. The office politics, the dressing up, the back-stabbing. I do in 4 hours what I did in 8
at home.  That hospital environment with all those women backstabbing, worrying about how long other people took for breaks or lunch, who was in favor with the supervisor, who fit in with the cliques,  UGGGGGGHHHHH!   I can't believe I am saying this but MQ looks good compared to those days now that you got me to thinking.  (Not that good pay-wise/benefit-wise though)

Happy Thanks Giving!!

Yes, and I'm the one cooking the turkey
Don't think my guests would appreciate a "tofu turkey". I will do the whole traditional meal and those who choose not to eat the turkey will still have plenty.
Tofu turkey
Yes, Im a vegetarian.  I usually make vegetables and potatoes, yams, etc., for Thanksgiving.  Made a tofu turkey a few years ago and it was delicious.  One year I bought Worthington Farms fake turkey slices and made some vegetarian gravy and we had *turkey* sandwiches, home made potato chips.  I have been a vegetarian for 31 years, since I was a teenager.
Ok, are ya sick of turkey about now?

turkey, rice and oatmeal
Don't know if it would help the gas problem, but when my dog got real old, he didn't want dog food, and I gave him turkey (vet said turkey very easy to digest) and rice, and he loved oatmeal.   I'm all for giving an old dog whatever makes him happy.
the turkey produces its own liquid...
if you add chicken broth, be sure to only add a little- like 1/2 a cup.
My pet turkey, Bubba, died of
natural causes two weeks ago.  He was about 50 pounds.  His wife, though, Bubette, is still healthy and well.  I guess she is a turkey widow now.
Whole turkey breast is good, too. sm
Pork roast tastes good, too, but I have a small rack at the bottom of mine that it sits on so it isn't in grease. I have also done whole chickens with lemon juice. Tasty.

I quit 2-1/2 years ago cold turkey
after smoking about 40 years.  It was one of the hardest things that I ever did.  To this day, I still want to smoke.  I am really relating to feeling like you lost your best friend because that was the same thing that I said!  I wish you well because it is hard to stick to it.  One thing I did want to tell you is that you can get support from the American Lung Association (or was it the American Cancer Society).  Anyway, they have people who can counsel with you, send you literature, can possibly hook you up with a local support group, plus they follow up with you to see how you are doing.  The more I think about it, I think I contacted the American Cancer Society 1-800-227-2345 or www.cancer.org.  Good luck!  If I could quit, anybody can!
crockpot turkey breast question
I just got a crockpot, have not really used one much.  I want to cook a boneless turkey breast.  Have looked at recipes online, most have no liquid added.  The idea of leaving it on low at home, while I'm a work, (with no liquid) makes me a little nervous.  Comments?  TIA

Thanks guys. And I thought I was tired of turkey! :)

I was going to make the pea soup today, but I didn't feel like it.

Maybe I'll have more motivation tomorrow. I got everything done early this year and I'm still wiped out. Maybe it was the pitter patter (more like CONSTANT RUNNING) of grandkids. 20-month-old twins, a 2-year-old along with a 2-month-old that is hungry every 3 hours.

I love them dearly, but I'm in my pajamas and it's not even 5:00.

DH puts it stuffing for turkey too- sometimes OVERDOES it - yuk is right

Ranch Turkey Meatloaf Recipe

I don't know about you...but I get sick of the same old thing for dinner...uggghhh  Try this...last night my family was the trial and gave the verdict....mmmm..mmmm...good....ENJOY

Ranch Turkey Meatloaf

2 eggs

3/4 c. of ranch flavored tortilla chips (crushed into small pieces)

3 Tbsp. Salsa (I used mild...depends on how spicy you like things)

2 Tbsp. Ranch Salad dressing...(I only use Kraft...but I am sure you can use any other kind of Ranch dressing)

1 tsp. chili powder

1 tsp. poultry seasoning

1 tsp. minced garlic

1 lb. ground turkey

Mix all the ingredients together....until you get a meatloaf consistency.  Then put into a baking dish and bake @ 350 degrees for one hour.  Serve this with salsa and sour cream (strictly your preference) but dipping in the salsa and sour cream just enhances the turkey loaf...  ENJOY!!!

Let me know what you think...

Thank you MTstars for doing the turkey giveaway again. I hope I win!

No, my turkey is still in my freezer. I refused to cook this year.
I'm either going to cook it at Christmastime or slap some Cajun sauce on it and BBQ when the 18" of snow melts.
Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Nepal, Japan. sm
But I have to say, the USA has my heart and there are so many places here I have yet to see.   It was nice visiting other countries. It was ALWAYS good to be home.
