what company do you work for if you dont mind saying?

I have not yet done it, but from what I hear its on the horizon.  To me it sounds wonderful, being able to free up your hands.  What do you find to be the biggest problem?  Are you losing money?  Does it cater to your own voice?  Do you have at least an option of typing the whole thing out or how do you do corrections?

Maybe you should just hang in there, unless you're really losing money.  From what i've heard, it takes months to master, but once you do, you'll be making double or even triple what you're making now.

Good. Why dont you send some our way. What office do you work for so I can call and get your work.
    :
They are and that is why we dont have work then. They bring in other offices and run your office out
of work because too many people are on the account then. Make sense. Nope.
    I dont mind ESL but....
I really hate it when they are ESL and decide to step away from the mic to dictate so low that you are not only struggling with the dialect, but also the darn volume - I mean really - you already know people have a hard time with your language skills - do you have to make it harder by whispering or moving so far away that we can't hear you????

    Thanks for letting me vent.
Why dont you stop coming in and agitating everyone under all your different names. Dont you work.
    :
I would love to hear from you too if you dont mind...
congratulations on finding the right fit! if you wouldn't mind i would like an email too with suggestions and the name of who you found such happiness with..im pulling out my hair now and want to find some peace as well :)brandi_0320@yahoo.com
I dont mind working 1 of the weekend days every week.
I just figure people get sick and doctors have to work them..
I dont know about your accounts there but my office was transferred there and since then all the
accounts and people in my office have their accounts running out. It took a few weeks after being transferred there but finally they got all of them because they want that 1 hour TAT on accounts there and that is what they are trying to do. So I dont think it is a few isolated accounts. My office had tons of accounts that went up there on DQS and we are all in the same boat.
Office lunches come to mind, the whole crew would have a glass of wine
We managed to get through the Friday afternoon following the glass of wine. It's holiday time, birthday time, retirement time. Rare - RARE - occasions. I remember the doctors have a very very slight slur LOL. I probably lost a keystroke or two on my speed. The nurses were happier that usual. The secretaries laughed for a change. It's all good.
Pay kids work around office, renovate office.

Same thing with nationals. You work all the time to keep the account caught up when others dont work
and then when they decide to put a whole lot of extra people on your accounts and run you out they could care less about how much you worked.
nm would you mind if I asked where you work and what type of work hosp, clinic ?
    x
Dont you think some of the better work and ASR work goes to the newbies they are hiring lately. I
am sure it goes somewhere because I will be finished with all jobs and the next morning there is ASR work from 14 hours ago. Odd right. Where was it. Probably in another pool so we dont get it and others do. I am pooled for ASR so I would have gotten it but didnt.
Do not work for Amherst if you can work for any other office in MQ. It is terrible. They overload
accounts terribly. We are always running out of work or need to have 8 or 9 backups to get lines in. This is the way it is. There may be a few out there that it is different but I do acute care and was just transferred there along with my office and everyone in my office is in the same boat. Not a good deal at all.
Meant to say SE's dont get OT. They can work as much as they please.
    :
not that Americans dont want to work, we just

What we deserve, but paid what it actually costs to LIVE in America, to afford the insanely high medical care, insanely high gas, insanely high food, etc.  We can never work for less than what we get because we'd then have to move to a different country where we can afford their cost of living.  Its all backwards.  Thats why CEOs are all slime...they're sitting pretty up there and do not care what goes on because they're comfortable and well taken care of.

    Dont happen to work for
a place in New Hampshire, do you?
If you work for MTSO, you usually dont have

DO NOT WORK FOR SEAN MEDITRANS-THEY DONT PAY
    NM
I am also sitting here with no work again from Amherst. I dont believe this.

As far as I know there are only adapters from the DB9 to a USB and they dont work for EditScript
I tried it.. I desperately wanted to use my laptop and all it had was USB ports but my 9-pin foot pedal would not work when I got that adapter from a 9-pin to USB. As far as I knew, there are no DB9 USB foot pedal only the serial port 9 pin style that I know of.. Hopefully someone out there has figured it out for us.
Dont know if any company programs work on mac
but i sure love the mac/pc commercials....have you seen the newest with the *peripherals*?
NEVER MIND...IT DOES NOT WORK. nm

I don't mind working some. When I work
weekends I'm not on a schedule and I don't usually do a full day, so it isn't too bad.  I don't mind working a rotation, but don't want to work every weekend, although I do get a differential for working weekends.
I work almost every weekend, but I don't mind so much. sm

I don't have a husband or kids, and I'd rather work and let others be off, if possible.   It would be different if I worked in an office every weekend, but somehow, working at home, it doesn't seem so bad.  I can get up early, get my work done, and have most of the day left if I want to do something.

Sorry that you're unhappy with it.  Just part of the business, I guess.

Would you mind sharing who you work for?
Please email me if you're not willing to post it.  Tx.
My point is, work a NORMAL EIGHT HOUR SHIFT..dont worry
It takes away from the quality and the turnaround time...
Trying to take a test in Express Scribe and cannot get my foot pedal to work. I dont want to
cause a problem in DQS with the foot pedal either.  Any suggestions.  I have the foot pedal that you use for DQS.  It is an Infinity foot pedal.
I work every holiday -- don't really mind, but would be nice to have extra pay. sm

When I worked for YOG, we got holiday pay and weekend differential.  I guess those days are gone.  Now, I'm just expected to work every holiday and every weekend and smile and say thanks for letting me be your slave.

I should probably stay away from the boards today ... Guess I'm Bad Mood Betty!  (ha)

Work some holidays - don't really mind during the winter months, but
when summer rolls around, I am at the beach on the holidays and do not work them. As an IC, we get nothing extra as far as $$ just the extra work.

Can't complain - have plenty of work all of the time.
would you mind sharing how to get started with this type of work
    typing insurance claims? Thanks
Don't mind extra work as long as it is not abusive
I used to always work my shift and then try to do 2-3 early Sunday mornings.  I was stopped from doing that because we could not work more than 40 hours.  If there is help needed after my 40 hours I certainly do not mind helping out when needed - as long as this does not become abusive and you are expected to be available 10, 12 or more hours a day, night, and weekends.  I have been there and it just got out of hand.  I am comfortable with less than 50 hours a week.
Does anyone on her work for Amherst MQ and how is that office to work for.
    :
Mind is willing to work but legs and back aren't cooperating.
Any cures for MT body aches?
Well supposed to be working and GUESS WHAT NO WORK AGAIN AT AMHERST MQ. No doubt in my mind that
they could care less about the MT, if you make money or starve. These people are absolutely crazy. There is no doubt in my mind.
What MQ office do you work for?
I have over 25+ years experience and have been with MQ since 1997.  I sure am not getting 9.5 cents a line!  I had to fight to get the tiny raise I did get.  What's your secret for getting the 9.5 cents???
    I work at a vet's office
That's my main second job. I usually have two or three transcription jobs.
I used to work in an onc office

and I can tell you that even though the doctors may sound cold when dictating, most of them are not that way in the office.  As for feeling sad for the patients, I cried at least once a week when I worked in that office (and I only worked 2 days a week).  I got very attached to these patients as many of them were coming every week for their treatments.  But in the end, I felt privileged to have worked there.  I made it my job to get to know these patients personally, to let them know that someone does care.  Many of them left our office smiling and that made me feel good inside.

My OB once asked me if it was depressing, and I told him that while losing a patient in our office was always sad, but the patients were no longer in pain, and that I would rather deal with that loss than trying to explain to a new mother the loss of a baby any day.  He agreed, said he never thought of it that way.

I'm currently working on a children's hospital and it's very saddening some days.  The pediatric oncology is the worst, though.  You just never expect something like that to happen to your family.  You just kind of wake up one day and cancer has reared its ugly head.

The office that I work for is going to EMR in May
I went in for training a few weeks ago and it's all set up on my computer. They will still need transcriptionists. I was told that consultation notes will still have to be transcribed. There's too much information in them that you just can't point and click everything. Also, we fax all the work we do, so we still have to fax all notes. It looks like it's going to make my work a lot easier. Now, down the road maybe they won't need us full-time, but I've already been preparing for that by working as a legal Transcriptionist as well as a general transcriptionist.
Yes, better to be in an office than NO WORK at all.

Dont you think MQ will just keep hiring new people who dont know they lost lines because they are

    new. I betcha.

I also want a living wage for MTs. Don't mind hard work and longer hours, just want to be paid
    :+
What office were you offered 9.5? The one I work in does NOT go over 8.
I am the only MT on the account I am doing and the client REFUSES to have anyone else do it..i figure leverage, but they still wont pay more than 8 NO SPACES. I never have blanks, never mess up at all, work ALLLLL the time. Where or where did you get 9.5?
I work out of the Dallas/SW office and
over the past 4 years, I have had slow work once or twice but have never run out. Now, that doesn't mean that possibly some accounts were not out but the accounts I work on provided me with work so that I never lost a line from it.

    Enjoy the boards, Michael!
Do you work out of the Seattle office?

Just curious.  Our Portland office closed recently.

I DON'T GET IT????? I have NEVER run out of work EVER. We are ALWAYS swamped at my office!!!
Sorry to hear your office is so slow. Come to the Dallas office...you'll never run out of work.
That stinks. Must be the office you work for because

I had nothing but STAT reports for 5 hours straight this a.m. and then reports went back to last Friday's dictation.  I wish there were some way I could send some out to you.

Weird thing is that in the last couple of weeks I have logged on to find no work, but within an hour, I have plenty of work.  Uh oh.  Is it my turn?

Try to find an office you can work out of where other MTs can help you out!
    nm
The office I work for some of the docs went

Now the office staff who handles the dictation are griping because they don't like Cbay.  They say it is hard to get the work back and it always needs edited.  The docs are behind on editing because they get caught up doing other things.  I had the staff say they wish the doctors would not have drifted..  makes my head well, but you get what you pay for...

    Work in office and home
The office provided me with software in order to hook up to the office over my DSL line. Just connect to the company's software and the computer works as if I was in the office exactly the same way. And anyone in the office can see what I have typed instantly! I love it! I would much prefer working at home than at the office however!!
I used to work for a neurosurgeons' office (SM)
They didn't test me when I went in for my interview.  The HR lady said they would find out soon enough if I didn't know how to type.  I guess that makes sense!!  I worked there for 2 years
