ADT

Acronym. 

Patient medical records containing information about his/her Admission, Discharge and Transfer. ADT is used in conjunction with HL7 (Health Level Seven), can be used any other applications or protocols to retrieve patient information from other databases or information repositories.

Upon selecting a specific person with HL7 - ADT protocol, a subsequent HL7service is utilized to obtain a list of clinical documents associated with that person. Selection of an item from this list will utilize HL7 protocol in order to display the contents of the clinical document.
