Don't waste your breath explaining it to them

They will only interpret everything you say as bashing. All logic is lost on some people.

For me, I won't waste my breath saying anything to you, Sam, since you are always right!!!!!

I guess they know it is a waste of breath rehash...sm
the same old things over and over. I think most of the dems are probably on another board discussing real issues instead of some fantasy world. I see a pattern of poisonous pablum being fed and swallowed whole.
Don't waste your breath. No one with a modicum of sense can honestly
believe these things. Some folks just like to stir the pot. Besides, look how the conservatives have cannibalized themselves in the elections past and have attempted to do so this year (claims in South Carolina of McCain being a traitor, etc.).

Some people will only ever see what they want to see. Unfortunately, they are victimized by those that play into their prejudices and fears.
Thank you for explaining that...
Wondered how it passed the Democrats!  Thought it was some kind of conspiracy on both sides, which would be a disaster.  He wants this to stay as part of "law of the land" which is a terrific fear for everyone who loves real "freedom" and not the Bush type of "freedom spread around the world" LOL!  Give me plain old freedom here in the United States. If Iraq, or any other sovereign nation, wants freedom, they should fight for it themselves, or at least ASK to let us bomb them....I'm sorry, that's my sense of humor...:) terrible, terrible.
Thanks for explaining it to me..... sm
I can see I may have upset you and I didn't mean to. Your opinion is your own, of course, but I would disagree with when an embryo starts to live. Being "radically pro-life" as I said I was, I naturally believe that a baby is a baby at conception. But that's just my belief. The truth of the matter is that the heart starts to beat at around the 21st day from conception, so with a beating heart, would that not be considered a living person?

There really is no need to answer me because I don't want to get into a battle over when life begins because our view points are so vastly different and feelings could be hurt. Thank you for sharing your point of view with me. It does help me understand the different mindsets as they relate to abortion.
Looks like you do not want to take a stab at explaining
Buffet and Soros manipulated the entire economic picture all by their lonesome. If all you want to do is cram more socialist rhetoric into the dialog, then it is a waste of time to address it....especially since it is coming from a faction of votes who do not have the foggiest notion of the meaning of the term, much less the historical structure of their own tax system. BTDT.
Sm does not need your help explaining her motives.

Google has an official explaining for it.

Obama was explaining to his fundraisers

why PA et. al. were not showing their support for him, going for Hilary, and he told them the truth.  I am from PA, and people around here are bitter that their jobs are outsourced and having financial problems.  The importance of his statement is that he was/is exactly right, and he does have his finger on the pulse of the people and does relate to common folks.  That's the point of "cling to their guns and religion."  He was not being condescending or demeaning, just trying to explain to his fundraisers why he was not doing so well in PA.

As for writing two books "before he accomplished anything," seems to me you are bitter and cling to your religion and guns.  What the h--- is wrong with writing books, with being intelligent?  Is being intelligent and able to write two books a curse? Give me a break with the phony accusations.

The prior poster was explaining the church ministries
those ministries were consistent with Obama's life experiences, his political career and his current campaign platform. Voters like a consistent candidate with a consistent message, a concept that seems to elude many McCain supporters and certainly goes right over the heads of his campaign managers.

The previous poster was implying that perhaps members of the congregation, both past and present, find value and purpose in those ministries and often choose to participate in the church ministries that service their immediate communities and benefit those who are in the most need wherein, according to Matthew's gospel, the Spirit of Jesus dwells. Some of us really like that about Obama and find it admirable that he embodies this decidedly Christian principle and understands that that we all will be judged by the measure of how we treat the least among us.

My best guess is that the previous poster does not necessarily believe that Christian evangelical pastors of any and all colors are exactly void of fanaticism, bigotry and hatred. Rev Wright certainly may have appeal to some members of that congregation whose core beliefs he reflects, just as John Hagee has a certain appeal to some of his congregation. Having said that, there is still no direct evidence that Hagee reflects McCain's core beliefs any more than there is evidence that Wright reflects Obama's...except in the minds of those who are in charge of the hate patrol.
It doesnt work. Link explaining some things.

Please review the Iraq Liberation Act and the speech given by clinton in 1988 explaining why he bomb
Operation Desert Fox. Bush, nor conservatives, were the first to call for regime change in Iraq. Clinton signed in a LAW calling for just that. I posted the act below. Both sides have called for regime change, only one side made it a law...that would be yours. Can we move on to another subject now?
Waste? (sm)
So, in this bill are provisions to improve education, rebuild and upgrade our energy grid, improve transportion and infrastructure that is sooo needed, lowers the cost of healthcare, and the list goes on and on.   All of these things benefit future generations.  My personal favorite project is research and development into alternative fuels.  This will provide a completely new industry for future generations as well as reduce our dependency on foreign oil.  In case you haven't noticed, current production of just about everything in the US is diminishing.  Is that what we want to leave our kids?--- a dwindling country?  Yeah, its expensive...very expensive.  But the alternative is to do nothing, and that definately will not help future generations.
And you're an MT? Wow - what a waste of your
!
You might as well not waste your time!
:D
I refuse to waste my

time reading biased, inaccurate opinions. Got a prob with that? Yours only.

Don't waste your time, JBB
Trying to reason with someone who has an imaginary sense of "reality" is an exercise in futility.
seriously, what a waste of time. NM

Breath of fresh air
I'm new to these boards and I just have to let all of you know that your posts are a breath of fresh air to me. I'm being suffocated by rampant conservatism here in the buckle of the bible belt. So many of your sentiments echo my own, and it feels good to know that I'm not alone.
So now you are rationalizing...in the same breath...nm

But we don't actually GETthem until we take a breath?
Then what happens to that soul if the someone who was supposed to get doesn't make it past the knife?
Don't hold your breath. I think the
next 4 years is going to be a sink or swim economy, and I don't think many people or companies can swim anymore. Too many are at the end of the rope and about to drown.
I'm not holding my breath......sm
I'll believe Obama gives me a tax cut when it happens, as well as help out with my health insurance. Can't tell from his website how "exactly" that's going to happen. His website if filled with a whole lot of words that are meaningless to me. Sounds good, but I don't see a lot of substance there, just like when he was campaigning.

Not holding my breath, but I'll come back and tell you if either of those things happen.

Not a Republican even though I leaned towards McCain over Obama, since he's such an unknown (and still is), and I actually decided I couldn't vote for McCain either....so my vote went to neither of them.

Please... don't waste your key strokes on these people.

They only come here to incite, to insult, to spread their hatred and rage all over this board.  It's physically impossible for them to stay on the Conservative board because they all agree, and they're not happy unless they can be vile and nasty and mean and stomp people into the ground, all the time wrapping themselves in the Bible and the flag.  They have posted bait on the Conservative board, and when nobody bites, they migrate to the Liberal board to get their daily fixes of hate mongering.  It must somehow make them feel like they have some power in their pitiful, mundane, unimportant, moronic little lives.

My suggestion is that we don't even read their posts.  Let them see that their posts were read 0 times, with no replies.  We are providing the fuel for their hatred every time we read or respond to one of their hateful posts.

They simply aren't worth the click of the mouse.

Better than the waste products of your posting...
gutter level would elevate them. And to think that I annoy you...frankly makes my day. Thanks for sharing.
Responding to you is a waste of my time.
I do not waste my time responding to your political posts, and I will not waste my time arguing semantics with you. I would not associate with you in my personal life, and you are not worth my time and energy on this forum. I am afraid you will have to find someone else to listen to your nonsense.
dont waste your time on the
Federal Reserve Fox ploy . . . they are trying to make you lose the scent.  Research Republican history of deregulation. Making the government so small they can drown it in the bathtub. Research McCain's countless statements of being pro-deregulation. Research the safeguards built into the system after the Great Depression and how they were dismantled by the republicans in the name of "free market forces."
Don't waste your energy trying to engage
I don't argue with brick walls.
It would be a waste of time to try to address
Do you folks never tire of being scared and scaring each other? There is bigotry and there is racism, both of which pervaded during this election cycle in the media and at pub rallies. To deny this is so is truly beyond ridiculous. Yours is a very small, dark world view, unfounded in reality and not worthy of further comment.
Waste of time and money!
Mailing hundreds, thousands, or hundreds of thousands of red envelopes is a waste of time and money. It is not going to have any effect on the abortion law, and the only winner is the post office. Can't you people think of more constructive ways to support a cause?
While I'm sure Mrs. Bridger will waste more oxygen
in feeling she must respond to this post, Obama has thumbed his nose at this country. Common sense is obviously something he was NOT born with, as well as many other O lovers who are obviously so depleted of oxygen, they are following him like little lost sheep to the slaughter. Saving thousands of Americans isn't his top priority; you'll see that more and more as time goes on. He's so busy playing buddy buddy with countries that will NEVER be a buddy to the U.S.,he has forgotten what his job really is, to look out for us first, not worry about befriending (what a joke that is) every terrorist leader out there.
Waste of time, postage, and tea!
Don't you people have anything more important to do with your time and energy? Go volunteer to help those less fortunate than yourselves. You might even get some self-esteem out of it.
Stop. Don't waste your energy.
victim mentality they probably couldn't escape it even if they wanted to. They cannot separate the truth from the propaganda they have been fed. If they think the report pertains to them, perhaps they are really rightwing extremists.
Sure, it is not a waste to acquire any skill

and I think being able to speak more than one language is a good thing.  However, why is it that we must become bilingual in our own country to accommodate people who will not become bilingual when they move to our country?

I agree Obama is a breath

of fresh air and I love that he inspires people. However, I would encourage all Democrats, Independents, et al, to consider Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico. On the Democratic side, he has by far the best resume. He is a superior negotiator, served as head of the Department of Energy, sat at the UN, was an ambassador. Here is a link to his web site. It is quite lengthy, but you can scan over it and just look at the positions he has held and the things he has done.

I wouldn't hold my breath. n/m

You are also a breath of fresh air. Agree 100%.
that kind of respectful standing in the world will be taken on November 4th and we will begin that journey in earnest the day after Obama's inauguration. You can take that to the bank.
I wouldn't hold my breath.
.
the world is holding their breath
After 9/11 would the United States really elect a black man named Barack Hussein Obama?
You are wasting your breath on these pathetic
people.  They have no life, or such miserable lives that they have all the time in the world to scour the Internet for more garbage to spout, so now this is what consumes their lives.  How sad -- NOT!  The people have spoken.  If you're not happy with the outcome, then MOVE OUT OF THE COUNTRY.  Maybe you can start a revolution somewhere else.
Don't hold your breath waiting.
He already said that he can't do everything at once. "It may take a year, it may take 2 years, it may even take the first term to do it all, but it will be done".
You're wasting your breath
The word Palin sends them into attack mode.
I wouldn't hold your breath
He has no plans whatsoever to bring the troops home in 60-90 days. He is already saying they need to stay another 5 years. Not to mention all the other dangerous areas he plans to send them too once out of Iraq. Then once he gets the Civilian National Security up and running and the kids in college, etc trained they can be diverted too. Maybe he'll bring home the troops for a short LOA (leave of absence), but they will go right back.

Why do people think he needs to be president to break promises. He's already making decisions and he already has broken promises he made on his campaign trail (just to get the votes).

Broken promise #1. I will bring the troops home. - He's already said they will be there for at least the next five years. I read another article that said it won't happen until 2011, and that is from an agreement that Bush signed. So in 2011 even then Obama will not have brought them home, it will be because of Bush. If people had their minds and eyes open during the campaign they would have seen this as a clear trick to get the people to vote for him).

Broken promise 2. I will tax the rich. - He now is coming out and saying he will not tax the rich.

Broken promise 3. I will bring change to Washington. - And just how is he suppose to do that when his entire cabinet is being filled with old Clintonians. People are sick of the Bush's and Clinton's and he goes and drags back these #$%(* we were so happy to get rid of.

Broken promise 4. I will not have lobbyists in my administration. - Uh hellooooooo. There are at least 15 people in his cabinet who are lobbyists.

So, there are just 4 of his campaign promises he has broken. Has has picked his cabinet, and revealed his (no taxes for the rich) plan already and also the fact that he is not going to be bringing the troops home. Seeing as this is on camera and in writing you can say that he has broken his promises. Unless for some reason you think that on the day of his inaugeration he's going to tell all these people that he picked for his cabinet that it was only a joke and instead he's going to hire more capable people.

People are really questioning his ability to lead (and this is in other countries too), which clearly by his choices and decisions he has already made he is showing that he cannot. I just thank god Biden is in there.
Most bigots deny it til their last breath. I think that they really don't know
.
Save your breath. People that believe
worldnutdaily are not the type of folks who trust reputable sources.
oooh - I like poopie-breath, can I use it? LOL
You instantly brought me back to my childhood. Gave me a laugh.
'A mind is a terrible thing to waste'. - Unfortunately,

Why voting in the US is a complete waste of time

I've said it for years and years.  This is an excellent article.

Waste 101- Hannity haters, do not read

Although I'm not a big fan of Hannity, he had a countdown last night. I'd like to know how does landscaping certain hotels, buildings, etc. contribute to jobs? What happened to the infrastructure spending for roads and bridges that was to create jobs...even though those jobs would be temporary, some projects would have given a year or two of work. It still seems like these jobs are "once and done" jobs.

Even Microsoft gets a bridge across a highway so the workers have easier access to their other building across the highway. Why, since he's #2(?) in Forbes, couldn't he pay for it himself?

Hopefully, this list will be on line soon. It's not there yet.

The total for the 101 stimulus spending was $1,234,631,672. The good news is at least we know where some of the stimulus/omnibus money is going.
