I answered you, sam. You are putting words in Obama's mouth

show me where O said he would give rebates to people w/o income and show me where he said they would get a tax break. This question has been answered already. Read the previous post BEFORE you throw out another dodge to my still unanswered question about progressive tax system being socialist, the rebate and your outlandish claims about what you think Obama said.

PLEASE. I did not say *a lot*. Stop putting words in my mouth! nm

Yup, Biden has a hard time speaking without putting a foot in his mouth.
He's like that crazy family member everyone has that they always try to keep under wraps.
You're putting words in her post.sm
Take it at face value.
I did not put words in your mouth....
if you are pro choice, and if you had to vote on the issue you would vote for it I assume...that means you support abortion. That is the plain and simple fact. There is no law now which states when an abortion has to occur. They can do it any time they get good and ready, beyond three months.

My dear kam, my "religion" does not tell me that a baby has a soul before it is born, my sense of morality and my heart tell me that. And just because you say a baby does not have a soul before it is born, that also does not make it so. If I am going to err, I most certainly would want to err on the side of the child. But that is just me.

Yes, I want state to state decisions to be made. That is what democracy is about. You hawk about choice, choice, choice. Every American should have the right to vote on this question. You want to allow a woman a choice to kill her baby, you don't want to allow me a choice to vote on the matter. Talk about hypocritical. Sheesh.

As you have stated ad nauseam, if a woman wants an abortion, she is going to get one, and I don't think having to travel to another state is going to stop her. Might be a little inconvenient, but I am sure those as liberal pro-choicers could set up buses, etc., to haul those women who want to have their babies killed to wherever they are killing babies.

You say you are not pro abortion...that must mean on some level personally you think it is wrong. That comes from your personal sense of morality, and since you are obviously not a "religious" person it does not come from God (although I do not believe that, but that is neither here nor there and not a discussion for this board). There are many people who are pro life who are not, as you say, "religious." They just believe that killing babies is wrong. The National Right to Life Committee is comprised of many non-"religious" people as well as "religious people." Believe it or not, there are people out there who just believe killing babies is wrong.

As to the SCHIP thing...that has nothing to do with the moral right or wrong of abortion. Why are you so concerned about health care of those children, and not concerned about the millions aborted every year? 98% of which have nothing to do with the health of the mother, rape, or incest? Why not limit abortion to rape, incest, or life of mother in danger? Why use it as a form of birth control? Because that is what 98% of abortions are. And if that is okay with you, so be it. I have a right to be against it, just as you have a right to be for it.

And, by the way, I also have a right to my "religion." Guaranteed by the Constitution of these United States of America. Just like life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness...there is no proviso "unless you are an inconvenient fetus, then all bets are off."

Have a nice day.
Not what i said at all...please do not put words in my mouth...
I have to say that now that Obama has said to pull out all the troops immediately would not be the thing to do, I feel slightly better about him in that respect. However, to say he would sit down with Admadinejad without any constraints...that worries me. And also what worries me is that in a nuclear proliferation talk when talking about getting rid of your weapons and Ahmadinejad..or Medvedev says basically "you first," he might actually do it.

Third...nuclear nonproliferation will only work if all sides agree. Russia will never give up its nukes. Ahmadinejad will never give up his nukes, certainly of his own free will he won't. Israel cannot give up their nukes..to do so would be suicide. If we give ours up...suicide. And I don't think Obama gets that. Sorry, I just don't. Not a slam..my opinion. And I have to vote on what I think and feel based on all I know...not what any party tells me I should do.
Words from his mouth were

in the context of coal being the dirtiest kind of energy and how all energy providers will need to obey guidelines regarding clean air and greenhouse gases, including coal providers.

His "words" were as follow:

"This notion of no coal, I think, is an illusion.  We have to figure out how to use coal without emitting greenhouse gases and carbon, how can we sequester that carbon and capture it.  If we can't, we will still be working on alternatives."

He said that if technology allows us to use coal in a clean way, we should pursue it, that he thinks that is the right approach.

However, if the coal industry wants to continue as is without any changes, they can still build a plant, but it will bankrupt them to do so if they cannot or will not meet the standards that comply with clean air and greenhouse gases.

Clean air, what an evil plan!

But go ahead, spin it, flip it, and toss it around until it's upside down and carries the complete opposite meaning of the original true statement.

Once again, I refer you to the link I posted previously, where the United Mine Workers of America endorse Obama's plan and reveal how McCain twisted it.

If the United Mine Workers of America are okay with his plan, then so am I.

Okay, so words from his mouth aren't true?

You're right....words are just words...so are Obama's...
...and don't/won't mean anything to many people, myself included.

He is no MLK.

It is a historic moment, of that I have no doubt. And yes, he has come far.

However, one still needs to have strength of character to back the words up for true meaning, and he is sadly lacking in that area.

Obama said...from his own mouth...to Joe the Plumber....
when Joe said, "Why do you want to tax me more?" to which Obama replied: "It's not that I want to tax you more. I think the guys below Joe deserve a shot too." I agree with that..just not the way Obama wants. They deserve the SAME shot JOE had. Work several years to GET to the point where you can buy a business...like JOE has. Don't TAX the JOES of the world MORE so you can cut people who have not worked that hard a check for which they did NOTHING. That is not fair, gourdpainter. No way is that FAIR.

Why not have a straight across the board percentage tax, no deductions, no NOTHING. Yes, the rich would pay more than the poor because they make more, but it would be FAIR. It would not be taxing any class of people at a HIGHER rate and divying it out to the ones below them who did NOTHING to earn it.

Obama is a socialist. He says so in his plans, he said so to Joe the Plumber. Why aren't you listening?
:-)
From Barack Obama's mouth to your ears...
"We are better than this."

Well, we SHOULD be better than this. Can't we leave the name calling and mean spirited personal comments about individuals by the wayside that has nothing to do with the discussion? Especially people impaired by illness? This sounds like a junior high school lunch room.
Obama has opened his mouth and stated his opinion
about everything else during this transition, why so silent on Israel?
Nice mouth. You kiss your mother with that mouth? sm
No, and please try and comprehend what I am saying, gt broke the truce when she attacked me.  Can you comprehend that?  I was staying off your board until I saw that gt actually attacked me in a thread that ended up in a truce with another poster.  You are really really not a nice person.  I will pray for you.

By his own words Obama said he was a Muslim - and
Yes, Obama has been telling people he is a Christian, but he is (or was) a Muslim. You all think its wrong to be a Muslim, yet you have no idea on what a Muslim is (only what is told to you in your buildings you visit each week to get your weekly dose of brainshwashing).

You contradicted yourself when you said Obama is a Christian and supports equal rights, then turned around and said the Christians are the gay haters. So which is it, do they support equal right for gay people or are they the gay haters.

Lastly Obama is telling you he is a Christian because that's what most Americans want for President. The fact of the matter is he was raised in a Muslim family and studied in a Muslim school (then he went to a non-muslim school after that, but he originally went to a muslim school). He even said himself by his own words he is a Muslim. I know a lot of you will say "oh that, that was just a mistake. A slip of the tongue". Ask yourselves this....do middle eastern muslims slip and say "my christian faith"? No! This was no slip of the tongue.

BTW - I am pagan. Used to be a christian but then I woke up and wanted to learn the truth and not just follow what the carpet-layer guy posing as a minister was telling everyone.
Obama's words in his own book
Not trashy words, unless you think his book is trash?  It was a great way to sell out his own grandma, wasn't it?
that's good them. I'm sure Obama will have harsh words
for the people who did. That's what I like and respect about him. It's too bad that people like this exist. I think the candidate have their hands full enough with issues without having to deal with something like this now. I hope they find the people who did it and cut off their hands or give them a labotomy or something.
Read Obama's two books, his own words...
and then come and tell us he is not a socialist leaning heavily toward Marxism...with a straight face. Just admit it, you know he is a socalist, leaning Marxist, and you don't care. Be honest with us and yourself.

The first time either Obama or Biden have to face other than softball questions and they run under the porch whining.

Whether or not someone leans Marxist is a valid question. That neither one of them has answered. Obama KNOWS what he is. He just doesn't want YOU to know what he is.
Obama Plan Jeopardizes Thousands of Coal Jobs/his words

Obama Plan Jeopardizes Thousands of Coal Jobs

Fred Jackson - OneNewsNow.com - 11/3/2008 7:35:00 AM

The nation's coal industry is in shock today with word that Barack Obama plans to put such severe penalties on coal-fired power plants that it will bankrupt them. A coalition of business leaders says such a move would jeopardize the jobs of hundreds of thousands of people who work in the coal industry.

Senator Obama's plan for putting severe financial penalties on coal-fired power plants has been made public on a YouTube video which contains audio of comments he made in San Francisco in January 2008.

"What I've said is that we would put a cap-and-trade system in place that is as aggressive, if not more aggressive, than anybody else's out there," the Democratic presidential candidate said. "I was the first to call for a hundred-percent auction on the cap-and-trade system, which means that every unit of carbon or greenhouse gases that was emitted would be charged to the polluter. That will create a market in which whatever technologies are out there that are being presented, whatever power plants that are being built, that they would have to meet the rigors of that market and the ratcheted-down caps that are imposed every year.

"So if somebody wants to build a coal power plant, they can," Obama concluded. "It's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greeenhouse gas that's being emitted."

A press release from the Western Business Roundtable is calling on politicians of all stripes to denounce such a plan, and encouraging voters to hold those politicans accountable for whether they support the coal industry.

Below is the actual audio - click to listen.

Those types of words are unnecessary and actually ARE racist words. sm
Those types of phrases are offensive and are intended to be offensive. This election should not be about race. If it is about race for you, then you are probably one of the ignorant people using those words. Very rude!!
Not as much as putting out an ad from your campaign...
with stamp of approval on it. That says more, in my opinion.

As far as Jewish people...Sarah Palin is going to the protest but on by Jewish leaders protesting Ahmadinejad addressing the UN...so McCain's campaign is supporting Jewish people there in a very public way. That also says a lot.
that's putting it lightly

Putting lipstick on a pig is like saying there's more than a hair's difference between a socialist and a communist.  At least a few of us around here get it.  Why they refuse to believe that the company one keeps is relevant is beyond me.  If I showed up to dinner with Charles Manson or similar, gee, what would that say about me?

The Dems are so used to having govt make decisions for them from cradle to grave.  No thanks, BHO, I'm a big girl and can make my own decisions.  Frankly, I can't afford those decisions of his, nor can any of the rest of the country.

Have you noticed that this place mirrors the far-left loons like HuffPo, Kos, & moveon?  I'm not talking generic Dems.  I'm talking Michael Moore, Babs Streisand, etc.  Unbelievable!

if he was putting country first, he would have
pick a more qualified VP candidate. That pick was to help him with the base. In the whole country, he believed she was the MOST qualified? Lieberman was his personal choice. But Lieberman certainly would not have gotten him the Christian vote.
Why are u putting blame elsewhere.
I hate to say it, but could be because he is black or arab african.
Well gee - excuuuuuze US, for not putting it

how about for putting this country in sm
the worst economic mess it has ever seen and doing it in a matter of less than 5 months? That would be a great start!

But then I guess folks with your mentality can't see the obvious.

Thanks to you who have answered...
I may be a dem to the core, but I do appreciate your input.
I answered this below......sm
When you can come up with something different, let me know.
You are putting that out of context, Democrat. SM

In fact, the conversation was very polite and respectful at all times. Wow, how two people can remember things so differently.  Says a lot.

My 16-year-old is NO WAY going to a barrack to learn civil defense or civil service.  I do not mind community service, she does that now, but no way in heck is she going to a barrack for 3-4 months.

I did not ask for this stupid crazy change.  I want my ole United States back.  It was not perfect, but this has gone too far.  Rahm is nothing but scum between my toes and to think of a creation of his Marxist youth corps is %^&&*(*.

The next you know, we are all going to have to get "THE MARK" SOON ON YOUR FOREHEAD OR HAND AREA which we all know is the 666.  LOOK OUT COUNTRY HERE IT COMES, YOUR NEW CHANGE.  Yes I can, yes I can, yes I can.  What for?  CHANGE.  What kind of change?  Heck if we know.

You are putting apples with oranges.,
this has nothing to do with that.
You never answered my question.
I asked how many troops our ally Israel sent to Iraq.  I would truly like to know.  It might help to change my mind regarding their commitment to being our ally.
Answered in all honesty...
the entire thread was about the Plame case and whether or not she was covert. I posted the court document where the media outlets (CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, etc) filed to try to stop the judge from compelling the reporters to give their sources (their aim was to protect whistle-blowers, which is definitely not a bad thing). In that brief it was stated: "We do not believe a crime was committed as she was not covert at the time of the incident." CBS acknowledged that they believed that Plame was not covert...supported by the fact that she was openly working at a desk job in the CIA offices and had been for some time. I thought it was hypocritical of CBS to now bring Plame on and in effect say they believe that she was covert. Then some, not all, of the usual posters piled on questioning the integrity of the court and how decisions can be influenced...when it really had nothing to do with the court, but with the filed brief. CBS et AL actually lost the case. If they had won it, there would have been no Libby prosecution. That is what makes what the liberals posted that much harder to understand. It just seemed like just because a conservative posted it, it could not possibly have any merit, and then when they had to admit it did have merit, suddenly the court had no integrity.

Honest answer.
First of all, I don't see that she answered the question. nm

Despite the fact that this has been answered over and over,

He has answered the questions
by what authority do you determine he has not answered the questions truthfully?
You just answered your own question
about "what critism" when you said Missouri MT said something and then said she didn't say it.
You answered your own question.
My assessment was in line with "most of the world," who laid responsibility for the massacre squarely at the feet of the Israelis, where it belonged, especially since the Shaba and Shatilla refugee camps were under the control of the IDF, not the Lebanese Phalangists, whom the IDF gave access to the refugees in the camps. Do not try to rewrite history that I unfortunately was around to experience directly, at least in its aftermath some 16 days later.

I have not forgotten about the assassination of Bachir Gemayel (Phalangist leader and president-elect, who never took office, BTW) just 2 days before the massacre and the history of hatred between the Phalangists and the Palestinians. If I was aware of it as a young, naïve, ill-informed American, it is only logical that the Israelis were aware of it too and had drawn the conclusion that giving access to the Phalangists was the perfect opportunity for them to commit massacre by proxy, which adds the specter of cowardice to the already atrocious and horrendous act and its outcome.

Trying to belittle me will not effectively disguise your not-so-artful attempt to dodge direct discussion of ISREAL'S invasion of Lebanon, the death of 3000 women, children and elders in the camps and another 30,000 Lebanese they killed during that campaign. So, no, it is pretty easy to distinguish between Israelis, the killers and the Lebanese, the dead guys.

I am not in the habit of giving direct answers to dirt, filth and blatant lies such as yours. Your preposterous notion that Arabs didn't give a flip about the massacre of 3000 Arabs is beyond absurd and speaks for itself, but comes as no surprise from a Zionist who would actually try to gain credibility by discounting 2550 corpses of women, children and elders by disputing fatality figures. The only odd thing here is that your delusions would allow you to believe that anyone in their right mind would accept this callous dismissal as the basis of a credible statement. Evidence of the ice water that flows through you veins can be easily surmised from your bigoted and hateful statement blaming the "Pakistanis" (I am guessing you really meant Palestinians) for somehow inviting the slaughter of the Shaba and Shatila refugees. Yeah, right.

Read my lips. The IDF WAS IN CONTROL of those camps. It was their responsibility to keep them secure. It also would not be the first time they failed to live up to Geneva Convention war conduct imperatives and instead, commit horrendous war crimes. They were the invaders, after all, and Lebanon, the invaded. This seems to be a pervasive affliction of yours, not being able to distinguish between the occupiers and occupied, the invaders and the invaded, the killers and the dead.

My 3000 dead figure is extracted from Sabra and Shatila: Inquiry into a Massacre, penned by ISRAELI journalist Amnon Kapeliouk in June 1984...2000 bodies disposed of by official and Red Crescent sources and another 1000-1500 he documented by investigative reporting and interviews with Phalangist officials. BTW, the findings of an Israeli govt study that Israel was only guilty of not foreseeing the future is like accepting the fox's report about the disappearance of the chickens from the coup. You are more stupid still to say that 3000 "sounds better" than 450, unless you are presuming that I take the same pleasure you obviously take in stacks and piles of Palestinian bodies in mass graves. NOT.

Sorry. I am not able to decipher your last parting shot. What are you referring to when you ask about the [square symbol] attacks on Palestinian refugee camps? Please clarify and I would be happy to comment.

I answered your question.
I provide examples of the current administration's bragging of how effective their policy has been in keeping us safe all turned out to be untrue because the threats were not credible.

I believe you just answered your own question
It's administered just like Medicare and Medicaid.

Lots of fraud within those two organizations, both from users and providers. We all know that from being MTs.

You asked, I answered.
I don't think fairy tales make for good foreign policy. Pre-emptive war under false pretenses that kill over 100,000 people waged in the WRONG COUNTRY to avenge daddy's honor and advance mythical global hegemony. No, Lu, the shrub has not made us safer, though you are free to give credit where you see fit. I would never try to talk down a blind Bushie but I can state with unwavering certainty that there are better, smarter, more honest and less deadly approaches to foreign policy, which you are about to witness first-hand on the dawn of this new era.
No just the poster you answered.

I'm beginning to feel the same way. He's pouring good money after bad. He should get wise and stop it RIGHT NOW.

After giving AIG more money yesterday, I feel all O knows is how to spend and that seems to be his cure-all for what ails the country. You would think he would get the hint by now with the market tanking and everyone losing their pensions and 401Ks.
