I enjoyed that
I enjoyed reading your post.  I don't agree about the whole Obama thing....I think he is a huge mistake but that is just my opinion.  However, like you, I am thoroughly impressed by Palin and what she has accomplished.  I too like that she is not from "washington."  I personally believe that she will be the refreshing change that we need!  And like you said, Clinton had no experience and was just the governor or Arkansas and was deemed good enough to be pres and yet Palin isn't?  I think she would be WAY better than Clinton ever was if she had to step up and be pres.  Palin was an excellent choice whether McCain made that decision himself or not!!!
Enjoyed your post, GT.

Not sure why the other poster is so offended.  And it was more of a synopsis of Jewish beliefs than a lecture on Christianity.

I also wanted to say that here in middle America I have friends who are Jewish and their beliefs are pretty much right where you're at also.  And it's not just them but their friends and relatives also.  I guess if the other poster only chooses to look at radical teachings - whether radical right-wing, evangelical Christian, radical Jew or even terrorist Muslims as speaking for all, then we can only hope they can educate themselves over time to what the rest of the world has to offer.

I really enjoyed the discussion, as well.
It was nice to have a peaceful discussion with differing viewpoints. Peace to you, too.
Enjoyed your post!

Thank you and your post talks about a lot of things I had already believed were true.

I know that in Minnesota the state offers a subsized health care plan with a sliding scale payment plan based on income.  It has problems though with coverage amount and asset limitations, but it seemed like a start in the right direction.  My thought is that ALL people should be able to purchase health care - I am more than happy to pay for it - my main problem is that a lot of jobs don't offer it so then you are completely out of luck unless you purchase it yourself which is ridiculously expensive.  A government-subsidized program which CHARGES for insurance but offers it to all is what I'd like to see.  And as a person who has relatives who work for a large insurance company (and these folks make an appalling amount of money) - I can't believe those money-making insurance companies have the best interests of American's health as their primary concern!!

I've really enjoyed communicating with

you this week.  Even though we don't agree, I respect your views and I particularly enjoy reading your posts because you don't get personal and attack others, and it seems that you treat people as you would like to be treated.  All that does is increase my desire to read every single post you write because you write intelligently, and I feel I can learn a lot from you.

Please keep posting.

Ladies, I have SO enjoyed your posts...
like both of you, I have Native American ancestry (Cherokee and Choctaw), Swedish and Irish. But I am an American. Our ancestors who founded this country did not come here and call it England across the water. They wanted to come to a free land with freedom and tolerance for all peoples and religions. It was a wonderful, bold, beautiful dream, and for a long time, it worked. Then enter human nature, petty jealousy and the lot...typical. To use the old addage, has never been a perfect human but one and what happened to him? Hung on a cross.

But I digress. It distresses me to read the "we are citizens of the world" stuff. Excuse me. I am not a citizen of the world. I am a citizen of the United States of America, I am proud of her heritage and her beginnings, always have and always will be. As I said in a previous post...I have never, ever been ashamed of her, but I have been very ashamed of some of her citizens.

It is blatantly obvious to me why so many europeans speak many languages...good grief, most of them are bordered by 2-3 different countries with different languages like our states border one another. So in order to travel, do business and interact, they have to learn different languages. Luckily we don't have Texan, Oklahoman, Wyomingian, etc...we have English. Most of Canada speaks English. We have one country that borders us who have a different language.

And what is wrong with having a national language? France has one...it's French. Germany has one...it's German. Spain has one...its Spanish. Mexico has one...its Spanish. Do you think if suddenly half of Germany illegally "immigrated" to France, France would be interested in putting a press 1 for German on all their phones and putting everything in both languages? Uh...no. I don't see that happening. lol.

Yes, I am a proud flag waver. She flies on a 20-ft pole outside my house every day and she will continue to. I am an American. And I agree...people who immigrate here should do so to become citizens of this country. We are a country of "mutts" as you say...and I use that term very affectionately. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. And in the not so distant past, it was being Americans that drew all us "Mutts" together and kept us strong and united as a country. How it pains me to see that start to go away.
Ditto, I always enjoyed your posts as well.
//
You said you enjoyed proving people wrong...
then provide your source. And provide some more current statistics. That is all I asked for. A simple request. If you can't, you can't. No biggie.
Hope you enjoyed your freedom/choices! sm
Sometimes what we thought was so bad starts to look better when we get something worse, especially when we did not see it coming.  Socialism is not going to be as great as you might think.
I especially enjoyed the real refreshing lie I caught him in the other day...did you catch it?
...no, guess not...no one in the media called him on it either.

Here, let me give you a hint. Obama said that all of the conservative and liberal economists agreed that his economy recovery plan was good (or would work, or something like that).

The lie being that "all the conservative economists" part.

That was one, big, fat, honking lie.....no one even blinked and took his word for it.

My DH says there's at least a half dozen conservative economists out there that don't agree with Obama...and yet....if Obama says they do....everyone believes him.

He lies and you don't even know it, he's so smooth about it.....

But some of us know he does...lie that is......he's getting real good at talking both sides of the issues, so that if something does or doesn't come to pass, he can say I told you so....or whatever needs to be said to save his you know whatsis.

I think he's learned a lot from the Clintons lately, don't you?
Glad you enjoyed them and glad to see you back!

I could laugh at that...
...if it wasn't so scary. Unfortunately though I think you are right.
That you can laugh at that

LOL! Thanks for the laugh. (nm)

Thanks so much for the laugh.
You dare to use the word truth in the context of the most untruthful president in American history.  He lied about why we went to war with Iraq.  Plain and simple.  He lied.  You are defending an unethical dishonest liar.
Thanks for the laugh...
//
Thank you for the laugh. LOL
xx
LOL thanks for the laugh

Any idea how I got in the kitchen to paint vegetables in my old age?  No?  I didn't think so.  LOL

Thanks for the laugh! nm

HA HA HA - I have to laugh at
the ignor@ance of some people. I think I would have been standing with my mouth open and said "do you hear yourselves".

Here's something amusing. This was said by low and behold....Joe Biden. When talking about Obama he described him "clean and good looking". All I could think of was "you ignor@ant fool, we take showers too".

P.S. - I think people watch too much TV and get their ideas from there.

Thanks for the laugh though.
Don't know whether to laugh or cry
If people will believe "blogcaca," they will believe anything.

I'm still in shock.

Thank you for the laugh!
I wish Saturday Night Live would have been able to do this one!!!
I can laugh because.....(sm)

I think it is absolutely ridiculous to try and paint Fox News as a *middle of the road* news organization.  They are about as far right as you can get, just like MSNBC is about as far left as you can get.

LOL is right on this one. A laugh is all
know who is more ignorantly childish Maddow or Olberman. However, Olberman is so big, he just looks like a big oaf. Besides, he is so consumed with jealousy of O'Reilly, he devotes most of his time to trying to poke fun at the man he despises the most because he can't get the ratings Bill does. The whole MSNBC crew can only see to the left, would get scared to death if they ever looked to the center, let alone to the right.

Besides, he is so eaten up with jealousy of O'Reilly that he devotes most of his time trying to make Bill look bad just because he hates him and can't get his ratings anywhere near Bill's ratings. The whole crew at MSNBC can only see to the left, so bad that if they even looked to the center a little it would scare them to death, let alone if they ever peeped to the right and saw a little real joy and happiness.
Laugh all you want and

by all means keep drinking the Kool-Aid.  Most Americans aren't laughing right now because whether you want to believe this or not....the dems in control are actually hurting us right now.  This constant spending is just insanity.  I couldn't care less if Bush handed this mess over to Obama.  Fine...we have castrated Bush already.  Now we have Obama spending like we have trillions of dollars to blow and all he can say is.....this is Bush's fault.  Look at the amount of money Bush spent in 8 year WITH a war.  Now compare that to the amount of money Obama has spent in 50-some days.  Laugh all you want but Fox has higher ratings than any other political channel.  So stay in your little bubble of denial and keep blaming pubs for everything while the majority of us open our eyes and realize that Bush is out of office and now we have to hold Obama's feet to the fire because he is in the White House now.

So keep hoping for that change Obama promised because we don't even have change left and him and Pelosi want to spend MORE money!!!

And they wonder why I laugh at them...(sm)

Discussing anything with them is pointless.  I guess if Fixed Noise doesn't say it, it isn't true.

PS:  Stick figures don't work either unless pitchforks and white robes are involved.

Sat. morning laugh
Anybody interested, watch the short animated video at:

It only takes a few seconds, it's really funny....until you think about it too long anyway.

Its me again - you all made me laugh
Just had to write back to let you all know I enjoyed reading all your posts to my "rant" this morning. It's nice that other people see her for what she really is, and sad that others do not. Sure we all want to just up and leave when things don't go our way and nothing seems fair, but as my mama used to say "who ever told you that life was fair", and no I'm not rich like the hollywood people who can leave country at the drop of a hat. So, just to let you know my feelings have not changed about how I feel for her. No, I don't hate her, but I do see her for what she is and I don't like it. Well yeah, maybe deep inside I do hate her. I just wish she would just go away and I wouldn't have to see her anymore, but somehow they always find their way out from under the rocks (Bush & Cheney is included). Anyway....I have calmed down since posting (not not with medication, but with a good dose of reality from all who commented) :-) I don't have anything to worry about anyways though because even if she pulls some of her "maneuvers" and knocks out Obama she will never win over McCain - just a fact. (if by chance she does, then in November I will come back and tell you all I'm eating crow. HA HA HA. I'm also not worried bout it anymore -after all I do have a "mute" and "channel changer" on my remote control. :-)
You make me laugh!!!
Who cares?
OMG! That is hilarious! Thanks for the laugh!

You made me laugh! Thanks! nm

Bright? Now that's a laugh
When a radio host went out on the streets of Harlem and asked the people questions about Obama, they were so ignorant to the facts they didn't even know who his running mate was, but yet they are allowed to vote. He asked them if they thought Palin was a good VP pick for Obama and they said YES! He asked if Obama wanting our troops to stay in Iraq was a good idea and they said, YES! My bet is more than half of those voting for him didn't even have a clue what/who they were voting for. Someone just told them free money and that's all they heard.

If I found something to laugh about...... sm

I would.  I just don't view the whole concept of abortion as funny in the least, and I find jokes about it, in any capacity, to be especially sick and demented.

I know - sure needed a laugh here
Lifes too short to let things get to you. Of course people get mad (especially on this board), but after a few new posts it is forgotten. What really made me wonder was a post I read that said the OP was asking someone to be banned for what they wrote 3 or so pages back. Then when I read the witch hunt comment that's exactly what I thought too. Then when I saw both original post and reply I could not tell who was for what and who was mad about what, and it just got me laughing. I'm glad this is topic is turning humorous though. I'm reading all the funny posts and one thing I think all MTs have in common is a good sense of humor.
YOU LIAR, LAUGH YOU $$ OFF...s/m
What are you going to say when you appear in front of God?
With all your lies and being a hypocritical smarta$$???

We'll see who laughs last.
LIAR!
Glad you at least got a laugh...... sm
Yes, we definitely agree on this subject and for so many reasons that I don't think there is room to go into it all on this forum.

However, I will state with brevity that the Bible does speak very clearly and very plainly on the subject of homosexuality. It is wrong in God's (or as you put it our creator's) eyes. Therefore, it is considered a sexually deviant behavior, just the same as pornography, beastiality, etc.

And I do believe you are wrong in stating that it does not affect my life or my home because when my children see this sort of thing on the evening news or prostestors on the street, it is brought into my life and home and I then must explain to my children why I believe this behavior is wrong. Just as I told my sons last night (about a completely separate and unrelated subject) what you do affects others. No man is an island.

I do agree with you in the sense that all gays are not as extreme as the ones we heard about a week or so ago bursting into a church and distributing their fliers and descecrating the altar, but that is true of any sector of society....Christians, Muslims, tree huggers, those save the whales folks, etc.

People are not born with a "lifestyle." Babies come into this world as a blank slate not having been exposed to the various world views that are out there, so your argument about whether or not God would "create everyone with different lifestyles." Being poor is a lifestyle and while one may be born into a poor family, one does not have to remain poor. One might be born into a Christian family but there is no guarantee that person would be a Christian when he or she is of age to determine their own path in life. Lifestyles are chosen, not created by God.

I agree with you in that times are changing, and they seem to be changing more rapidly today than ever before. However, intellegence and independent thinking should not become so open-minded that one can no longer distinguish between right and wrong. When it gets to that point, and it is rapidly doing just that, we are doomed as a society as lawlessness and immorality will prevail.
I loved this.....thanks for the laugh....sm
Do you suppose it would really work for any of us in this day and age????.........lolol.........
Thanks for the laugh. But, unfortunately, they are all too true. nm

This made me laugh

Anybody up for a good laugh? s/m

That horseface Coultergeist is on Dr. Phil today.  How anyone could take that anything that woman says seriously boggles the mind!!  I think she's hilarious -- what a joke of a human being!!  But like Lamebaugh, their shameless self-promotion and preying on the poor people that actually hang on their every word just makes them richer and richer.

You'll get a laugh out of this.

The trailer was in front of the shed. The assessor did a drive-by front view pictures of our property to make sure we weren't cheating by putting up buildings and not being taxes. He swore under oath that the shed was an expansion of the trailer living room! So, we had to take pictures of the side to show it wasn't attached.

He comes around once a year and every time I see him stop (he stays in his car and takes the pictures), I run out the door and he takes off faster than you-know-what.

As long as a bulding is not sitting on the ground on a cement pad, or is on wheels, i.e., moveable, they don't tax that.....yet. After we built this place (I really call it a basement 'cause it's underground on 3 sides), they started taxing basements and underground homes. Before we built our place, the rule was only to tax what was showing out of the ground; that's why we went underground. Can't win.

BTW, my state is PA.

That was neat. Thanks for the laugh. (nm)

OMG, you gave me a big laugh. And what about
the black/red dress Michelle wore when O held his victory speech in Illinois? Comments were: Different, astonishing etc......????
I'm going to laugh when the day comes when people
start taking them out with guns, car bombs, and the like. It's gotta happen, the only question is WHEN. Sure can't be soon enough for me.

'Get me some popcorn and pour me a beer', cause I'll be looking forward to them all getting what they deserve.
That was hysterical!! Thanks for the laugh.
Great post, loved it!
You laugh because you have nothing intelligent

Guess you would know, since you laugh at

LOL ...okay, now this made me laugh
Sublingual: under the tongue.
subliminimal: subconscious.

Although I guess if the OP believes they are sending subversive messages, they may be speaking with forked tongue, but since they're gay and it's giving the OP palpitations, she needs sublingual nitro or something.

Sublingual must be one of those words that just flows off the fingertips when we start that s-u-b-l-i roll.
It was definitely good for a laugh! I Obama's got
