I stand by my post as before - see message inside

I'm reading posts and you are all acting as though the child is living and outside the body already in school and is then taken away to be murdered.

I read another post that said "before you even know you are pregnant the heart is beating". This is totally false! Week 4 is when the brain, spinal cord, heart and other organs begin to form and continue to form. To suggest that at the instancy of sex you now have a live breathing baby whose heart is beating and brain is fully developed is absurd. - which by the way they can't speak for themselves so that is what you are all here for. Having an abortion before the baby is developed is the safest. You can call it as you like to. Most of you have a heart so cruel you like to label people as murderers. This embryo is not someone, it is an embryo. Full term abortions and killing babies outside the womb I believe is disgusting and vile. As for Laci Peterson - she was getting ready to give birth to a baby. If that baby was born it would lived. Yeah, but that's a whole different topic, but to have an abortion before the organs are fully developed and the child's brain has developed and they have no nerves so cannot feel anything is a different story.

Lastly, I would never have an abortion myself, but if by chance I did and the embryo has not had time to develop (first trimester) then you keep your nose out of my business where it does not belong. I answer to one higher being (our creator) not you!!!!!

I stand by the original poster. Keep your noses out of where they don't belong.

P.S. - I certainly am not going to listen to a bunch of hipocrites who will murder innocent animals so they can devour them at their meals. Now that is disgusting to me!!

Amanda - I stand corrected - thank you - see message
When I'm wrong I'll admit it and this time I'm wrong. That is in such bad taste.

If parents want to dress their kids in political figures that's one thing (though I think the kids would rather be ghosts, witches, princesses, etc) but to try and make a political statement and use the excuse that its Halloween and in good fun is just in bad taste (IMO). I find it equally offensive no matter who it is.

I think its bad taste and think everyone should take down everything. I find it just as disgusting as I found the remark Hillary said about staying in because an assassination could happen. When you talk about death of people that just gets to me.

So Amanda thank you, I do stand corrected and am humbled. There are McCain supporters who do the same as Obama supporters.

What happened to decency in America and leave the halloween costumes to kids and people going to parties.

I thought so, too, when I first read it, but there's a whole website dedicated to nothing but this kind of hatefulness. How could anyone communicate reasonably, intelligently and productively with a follower of this kind of religion?

Sad, isn't it?

I think we should declare a moratorium on the election talk in light of the fact that his family has suffered this loss of a loved one. Anyone with me?

It's only because I'm frustrated that you don't see what is so evident. Human rights are not negotiable. I fear you were raised in a very narrow minded family or maybe you just are not educated. I really don't mean to insult you but this has been my experience with certain people. I don't think I will ever convince you. There is something lacking in your makeup or background that will not allow you to see what is right for people all over the world. Did you ever think that a "terrorist" thinks that Bush was a terrorist? Did you ever think that perhaps a young man in a poor country was brainwashed and shown the evil Americans occupying their holy lands? We have done wrong things! Fighting fire with fire will not solve anything, just like there is no answer to a religious war.
You see my views as a personal attack because you cannot comprehend them at all. Your fears and cultural issues keep you locked into that lonely narrow world where Chevy, apple pie and repubs are "patriotic" but that is just brainwashing. We NOW can be proud of a TRUE American president who will dig us, slowly but surely out of this mess.

I do feel superior now when it comes to spelling and grammatical skills Shelly/Kendra. I also feel superior that my candidate won, while all along you two were saying he wouldn't. I feel very smart, very smart indeed. Good night MTs.

Serious post regarding S-CHIP for those interested...see inside

Apparently the individual states have a lot of discretion as to how they spend the federal CHIP money.  Pennsylvania, according to their website (PAkids.com I think, or something like that), isay they will insure ALL kids, no matter how much money their parents make.  Only kids who are eligible for Medical Assistance (for lower income families I think) are not eligible.  It says either it will be provided free or at a much reduced cost.  So, even before expansion, had individual states chosen to, they could have provided insurance to all kids apparently.  So if anyone is interested in seeing how their state handles the money, or is need of assistance, I would suggest going to individual state websites and see how their individual states handle the money.  If PA can do it, I would think other states could do it too....?

This is a "bash free" post - see inside.
You posted on 8/26 about abortions – your title said don’t read if it bothers you so there was no need to shout it as us as we all can read.

That’s fine you want to post about abortion, but you also posted on 8/25 about abortion not counting the numerous times you brought in the subject of abortion to other posts (in all fairness you did not start those conversations) but what started out as one subject you turned into abortion issues. So in the beginning the postings about abortions were fine but then it started getting very tiring and when people disagreed that is when you started in on them.

I read messages from people not bashing you but simply stating they were tired of hearing the same thing and that’s when you started bashing them.

One post said “We stopped reading your posts a long time ago” That is not a bash. Another post said “My sentiments exactly”. Again that is not a bash. But you came back and said “Enter the cheerleader. Predictable. So much for listening to the other side. Then inside the message you called them a liberal and said if they only believed their philosophy it might actually BE a better world” That is bashing!

Then someone came back and said “listening over, and over, and over and inside said she is not affiliated with any party and most definitely am not a liberal. Again – that is not a bash.

Then more posts after that. My point is you were the first to start the “bashings”. When people tell you they are tired of hearing about the abortion subject (without bashing you) you don’t like that and have to give a nasty comment to them.

I have read six posters all saying the subject matter is getting tiring and old and that it was covered extensively below in other posts. The “we” I am referring to are those six posters.

Abortion is just one issue that people feel very strongly about which will eventually lead to heated words if people don’t agree with the posters viewpoint, then comes the bashing, people being called liberals when nobody knows what their viewpoints are. Sure we all feel strongly about issues but we don’t like being called names. I read all the previous posts and not once did I read any post where anyone called you a name.

It is a free board and everyone is entitled to post what they want but like the latest poster said there is no need to bring it up again. I say there are way too many interesting things in politics going on. I’m sure I will start up some new topics. What’s that saying. “Let’s let sleeping dogs lie” (at least I think that’s the saying) :-) – just say lets give the abortion subject a rest.
true, your post has nothing inside it. Your point please?

Tehran braces for crackdown as protesters vow to defy KhameneiSupreme leader warns Mousavi supporters against bloodshed

guardian.co.uk, Friday 19 June 2009
Iran's opposition faces a critical test of resolve and the country an uncertain future tomorrow after the Islamic regime's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, issued a blunt warning to those involved in mass protests over last week's "stolen" presidential election that they would "bear the responsibility" for any bloodshed.

Khamenei rejected accusations of fraud in the poll, confirmed the incumbent, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, as the winner, and gave no ground to the millions of Iranians demanding their votes back.

Mir Hossein Mousavi, who claims he beat Ahmadinejad in the race, was said by an ally to have no plans for unauthorised rallies tomorrow following the warning, but supporters vowed to go on protesting.

Fears grew tonight of an intensifying crackdown on media and opposition activists. Students at the fine arts faculty of Tehran University – where scores of students were injured and some reported killed after raids by security forces earlier this week – announced an indefinite sit-in starting tomorrow.

Khamenei's closely watched speech at prayers at Tehran University could hardly have been tougher. It had been hoped he might adopt a more conciliatory tone that would help defuse the gathering crisis, the worst in Iran's 30-year post-revolutionary history. But he warned: "If there is any bloodshed, the leaders of the protests will be held directly responsible. The result of the election comes from the ballot box, not from the street. Today the Iranian nation needs calm."

Tens of thousands of worshippers cheered as he told them: "It is your victory. They cannot manipulate it."

Mousavi, a moderate former prime minister whose "green" movement scared the regime with the support it was attracting, ignored a call to attend the prayer meeting and now faces a dilemma over his next step. Ignoring Khamenei's message risks bloodshed on a far larger scale than the eight people killed last week. Accepting it means surrender to the regime.

The reformist cleric Mehdi Karroubi, another candidate for the presidency, added to the pressure tonight by also calling for the election to be annulled. "Accept the Iranian nation's will by cancelling the vote and guarantee the establishment's survival," he urged.

Khamenei attacked opponents at home but also lambasted Iran's enemies abroad in hardline remarks that bode ill for any opening to the US, where Barack Obama is seeking talks to tackle worries over Iran's nuclear ambitions.

Britain was attacked as "the most evil", but the US, Israel and "Zionist-controlled" media were also abused, as was Hillary Clinton, the US secretary of state. "The enemies are targeting the Islamic establishment's legitimacy by questioning the election and its authenticity before and after [the vote]," said Khamenei.

The speech underlined the sense of profound crisis, since the supreme leader usually only speaks in public at the end of Ramadan and on the anniversary of the 1979 revolution.

Analysts and commentators were dismayed by its implications. Sadegh Saba, chief analyst for BBC Persian TV, said: "Mousavi wants the protests to continue but Khamenei is saying if they do there might be bloodshed – and it will be on your hands."

Issa Saharkhiz, a Tehran-based pro-reformist commentator, said Khamenei's speech had transformed the crisis from a conflict over the election result into a trial of his own political authority, which was now being openly questioned. "Now the issue is that the supreme leader's sense of justice, management and competence is under question," he told Deutsche Welle. "The leadership of the country cannot be left in the hands of such a person, who for the sake of preserving himself and his own power, threatens people with mass murder."

Crucially, Khamenei ruled out any cheating in the election, apparently dashing hopes that a partial recount ordered by the guardian council, a supervisory body of senior clerics, will mitigate the crisis.

Khamenei's call for Mousavi and Karroubi to confine their protests to legal avenues prompted mockery. "This means that Imam Hossein [the third most revered figure in Shia Islam], instead of making a last stand at Karbala, [should have] pursued his grievances through the legal process," one blogger said on the Farsi blogsite Balatarin.

Balatarin was flooded with messages voicing outrage at Khamenei's warning that opposition leaders would be held responsible for further unrest and bloodshed. One correspondent wrote: "Mr Khamenei, the direct responsibility for any damage to people's lives or property from now on lies with you."

In Washington, the House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly to condemn Tehran's crackdown on demonstrators. It was the strongest message yet to Iran.

on the faith board. Your stating your views based on your religious ideas and values and that is all fine and good, but that is where this post belongs. If you post there I'm sure you will get a lot of the support you are looking for. It sounds to me you didn't want anyone to oppose your viewpoint. You labeled them "ugly responses", my viewpoint on reading them is that they are how other people feel about the issue. Because they don't agree with yours of course they seem "ugly" to you.

Also reading your post above you say you now know Jesus is real, and you stated "...I can tell you that I pray God forgive you for your blindness and hate just as He forgave me when I surrendered my life to Him." etc, etc, etc. That is your faith and like I said that's all fine but it is your faith-based opinion and beliefs, not everyone else believes the same way you do. Again if you take it to the faith board you will find the much support you are looking for.

Your last paragraph you mentioned that someone made a choice of life for me. Yes they did. I had parents who wanted to have children and hence here I am. The statement "why would you want to deny that for another innocent baby" That statement is just silly. You'd rather see a child spend 18 years or more living a life of he!! in a drug/alcohol induced family situation with the possibility of being abused emotionally or physically. You'd rather see a child feel unloved and unwanted. That's a little sadist if you ask me. If the embryo is aborted there is no one to feel like they are being deprived of anything.

As for you calling our president "evil"???? I don't consider someone who is fighting for woman to have the right to choose evil. He celebrates death instead of life????? Oh please, sorry but that statement is not going to win you any support here.

BTW - I may not agree with some of the presidents policies that he's passing, but in no way is he evil. Again, that is another "faith-based" emotion and belongs on the faith board.
oops above post have said sm message, not NM

sorry 'bout that.........

Why didn' you post a message?
I'm not sure why you wrote Henry Kissinger but then didn't write anything. If Obama can come up with when Henry Kissinger said that to him I will take back my original post. All I'm saying is Kissinger was interviewed and he said he never said it. You should take him at his word. If Obama says something I believe him. Maybe Obama really believed Kissinger said this.

Obama says he cares about the people. He cares that people needs jobs, decent healthcare, and not to lose their homes. He said he is going to work towards getting this fixed. I believe him.
Good post - see message
This was a great post. It is disturbing to me that a lot of democrats (not all, but all the ones I know including my mother) would rather have our country taken over by radicals, would rather in a socialist country, have government tell them what to do and what they can't do and when they can do it. They don't mind paying higher taxes rather than to have a republican in. I just don't understand it. My mother infuriates me to no end. She calls and tries to get me involved in an argument. When I point out facts to her she says she has to run off (she suddenly has to go to the bathroom or get something to eat, or something is burning on the stove or someone is at the door). She throws at me the same exact talking points I hear on MSNBC and CNN "word for word". I told her mom, vote for someone you believe in. If you believe Obama is going to be the best man then vote for him, but don't vote for him because the media is telling you to vote for him. She also will attack Palin, but she has no knowledge of what she has done. Again she just repeats what the media says. When I ask her about this policy or that policy she can't answer me because she doesn't know. I told her that she can look up these people on her own but to at least please look at sites that are both pro & con for all 4 people.

Putting aside any feelings you have towards McCain, Palin & even Biden take a look at Obama. Forget what he looks like or how he dresses. Look at him as a person. Look at the people he surrounds himself with (Ayers, Farrakan, Wright, and others). Look at the people who are his advisers. Look at his connections to the middle east friends he has in known terrorist countries. Look at his connection to Acorn (ask yourself this - if Republicans were cheating and creating voter fraud, getting their pets names registered, dead relatives, etc, and even in some cases there are more people registered than actually live in a town. What would you be doing. You'd be on this board, you'd be writing your congressman/woman, you be screaming bloody murder calling the republicans every name in the book. So why do you feel its okay if its being done by the democrats. Don't people realize that there is a reason as to why you register to vote and then at a later date vote (not at the same exact time). These people then can go to the next county, register and vote there too, and so on and so forth. A lot of democrats will scream that the cheaters are ONLY the republicans. Voter fraud infuriates me no matter which side it happens on.

So aside from his radical viewpoints look at his voting record. Everything he has voted for has not been good for middle income people, including the votes to raise taxes on middle income families, but now because he is running for President he said the middle income will not be taxed. Sound a little too familiar to the "Read my lips" states made years earlier.

Then on top of that what I think is even the most dangerous aspect is having an all democrat congress/president.
This is a good post - see message
We all have our opinions based on what we have read, seen on TV, heard on radio, and what we have researched and found. Those are our opinions and nobody will change them. The undecided I'm sure are not going to base their decision on who they vote for based solely on what people say on this board, especially when people get cut down and called names for no reason other than having an opinion that is different than those doing the cut down.

People have posted articles they want others to read because as we all know the MSM is not putting out the truth about the candidate they want to win, so a lot will post articles for others to see, but it is replied to by others as not credible or a lie or whatever term they use while at time smearing and calling the poster names.

Your post is so true. "Some require our opinions be backed up by documented proof" and then if they don't like it they will say it's not credible. I just say contact the reporter of the newspaper or article and tell it to them. Tell the lawyers, judges, reporters, scientist, etc. Tell them they are not credible.
Great post Sam - see message
I saw a nasty post by just me. That poster is not me. I've been agreeing with you on most issues throughout this time.

You are correct. He needs to earn respect before it is given. Like you I do not trust this guy. He lied to us so much it was like watching Bill Clinton all over again. And we all know what we got when Clinton took office - The Shaft! Clinton was one of the biggest disgraces of all Presidents and he lost all respect shortly after he took office and broke all his campaign promises. So in mine (and many of my friends and acquaintances) Clinton was not a real president but just someone who held the office and sat in the chair.

I hope Obama does good for the people like he has promised. Time will tell. Still uncomfortable about having to work more hours so that way they can give it to the people who don't want to work. You know that sounds like such a good system I told DH he should jump on the bandwagon. At least the extra money I'd be paying in taxes, he would get as a free check for not doing anything. Then at lease we could keep it in the family.

I listened to O's speech last night and he already started talking about some of his campaign promises are going to have to be broken. Funny how he has a way with words that he can say he's going to screw you and everyone feels good about it.
Excellent post - thanks (no message)

I cannot stand

Michelle Obama.  She just comes off to me as a bitter and arrogant woman.  Joe Biden are just ignorant sometimes.  He is a likeable guy and I like his smile but the words that come out of his mouth....I bet the dems cringe every time they see him start to talk.

I would much rather see McCain and Palin in office.  I don't agree with everything they do, but for the most part....I stand along with them on issues.

I cannot stand behind Obama and the things he stands for.

Cannot stand her. She is always

You are serious? I cannot stand the man. Used to
nm
Yes, I do know where you stand...(sm)

and I agree with you about 90% of the time.  However, you are really targeting the wrong people here.  Take a look up above this post.  Here's what I see -- "Obama is a fool...big government...socialism..."  Obama has called for unity in this country, and I wholeheartedly agree that we should be united.  However, the republican leadership and right wing news media are doing nothing but striving for division, and most of the republicans on this board do nothing but echo that.  They obviously can't be reasoned with.  They posted I don't know how many times about how terrible the stimulus is, but when asked their opinion of what should be done we get no answer-- just some wise crack.  The other day one was saying that Obama is taking rights away.  When asked what rights specifically...again, no answer.  And how about that racist post about the aspirin on this board or the email that a pub official sent out with a watermellon patch in front of the whitehouse?  Calling people names?  --- How about Kool-Aid drinkers?

If republicans want to have a conversation, I'm all for that, but so far only a few on this board are actually willing to do so.  Let's work on that for a while.  Go ahead...ask them what their ideas are about how to solve the economic crisis and see if you get a reasonable answer.  Ask them whether or not they would support a violent revolution as suggested by Hannity's website and whether or not they think it would help the country.

This country is a mess right now and we desparately need to come together, but when you are dealing with people who would prefer to remain a divided country for the purposes of greed and affiliation, then this is the result.

A few journalists stand out
Lately we have a few reporters who are stepping up to the plate of real journalists from the past..Im impressed with David Gregory of MSNBC, Keith Olbermann of MSNBC also tells it like it is and then there is Terry Moran of ABC and, of course Helen Thomas.  They are asking questions and I just love watching Bush and his press secretary squirm, LOL.  Three more years of this?  Can the country survive three more years?
I stand by my opinion
by the way...I fell asleep during your sermon...
I stand corrected

You are right. I did apply a double standard to a point.  Everybody has a past.  We've all done things we're ashamed of.  My beef  was with how he made it all seem like a joke, but again you are right.

I apologize...

Stand corrected
No, I'm advocating blowing a dictator away who is genocidal and dangerous and has committed war crimes for which he is on trial for now, and the evidence is overwhelming. Big difference there.
You are so right. I stand corrected.

What you said and every other bad thing in the world.  Bad Bad BAD Democrats.

Bush won't send any of his kids to die for his war.  Only other people's kids.  BTW, LoL at margarita bimbos.

Speaking of margaritas, people convicted of felonies (such as DUI) aren't allowed to vote in the United States.

But they're allowed to be political candidates and sometimes they become President and Vice President.  (Bush: Arrested for DUI and again for possession of cocaine.  Cheney:  Arrested twice for DUI).

The loophole is they probably weren't technically convicted.  They would have been if they were everyday normal people and not privileged and rich, but how ironic is that?  :-(

Ok, I stand corrected....
Thanks, however of small note (and this is only me) I don't consider the people on Good Morning America to be news people. Yes, I know they are reading the news. I used to watch it until it just seemed to be too much like The View or Regis & Kathy (okay you see how long its been since I've seen that show). I've just never heard anyone on CNN, Fox, MSNBC, or those main ones (or even our local news) tell her to get out. They were all for her to keep going. But I do stand corrected and thank you.
I stand accused of
You are so consumed with your attack politics you are completely incapable of answering any real issues on any level whatsoever. So here you are with you umpteenth millionth under the bus/lie lines...boring, ineffective, pathetic, self-serving. Biden's record speaks for itself for those who are listening. His "friendship" with McBush is not the least bit relevant to anyone except those on the Fox fringe. The only ones whose opinions really count here are which ones believe your propaganda and which ones don't and how many of them show up at the polls. Will be declining the answer the lies accusations. it's all in the perception, sweetie, and on that score, you and your ilk will lose and lose big in the whose leaders tell the biggest lies that have the worst consequences for all of us to pay contest. Since you cannot actually address any of the other well researched facts on the experience issues raised in the last post, there is nothing left to do here except leave you to stew in your own acidic attacks. I will stay loyal to my principles, my party, their policies, issues and leaders. They are our only hope this election season. Shocking as it may seem to you, democrats are proud to be democrats, liberals proud to be liberals. You have no idea just how many of us there are out here. Our voices have not been raised within your earshot (Fox News) under the "you're either with us or against us" mentality of your last great fearless leader. But we raise them now, loud and clear. We shall see in a few short weeks just which one of us in on the "right side of history" this time...that is, unless, of course, the republicans manage to steal yet one more election. NOT. Not this time. Don't bother with a response. Try to find something more intelligent to do with your time.
I stand corrected

Thank you for letting me know where you stand....
that barack's campaign is more important than the financial crisis we are facing. Tell me...what would you have said if Barack had suspended is campaign first and put his country first? Would you still be criticizing the decision? I am doubting it! lol.
You need to stand up and adjust....
and get your knickers out of that knot.
I can't stand Pelosi
but don't ya recall who's been in the White House for the past 8 years, well make that 20 of the last 28 years.  Obviously the Republican trickle down wealth hasn't worked so well.  And don't give me the Democrats for the past 2 years.  Obviously they haven't done anything either but for the previous 6 years, as I seem to recall Republicans had total control of the government and look where we are?
Okay, I can't stand it anymore....
the answer is......Hitler.  His directive 51 was pretty much the same thing.
Yes that's me - and I still stand by my statement.
I just agreed that the site has been changed; however, if you compare the 2 sites they are virtually word for word until you have to add the part about the college credit (which I posted 4 links below that show that that has been part of the "requirement" all along and not a new idea). That is why I say that it was a mistake on somebody's part that was doing the typing.

I am telling you, when I am wrong, I am admitting I am wrong, and I will continue to admit I am wrong.

If Obama does something that is wrong, then in the next election, I will most definitely not support him again. I am, however, giving him the benefit of the doubt until he is actually in office and doing the job of the POTUS, and not condemning him on typos, rumors, innuendos, outright lies, hypothetical situations, fear and hatred...

I base my decisions on that person's actions, not the public's opinion.
Right and we don't have a union to stand up for us either. n/m
